  “Kane?”

As though he understood what she wanted, he came to sit beside them. He slid his palm over her arm, caressing her. “Are you okay, Alex? Was it too much? Too rough?”

She chuckled, then let Jeff move her to the floor between them. She shook her head and dragged her hair out of her face. “No way. That was perfect.”

Between them. It’s exactly where I should always be.

She was about to tell them that when a knock on the door stunned her, silencing her. Oh, hell, Daisy really did hear us.

“Alex, I’m so sorry, but there was an awful lot of screaming going on in there. I just had to check on you. You’re okay, right?”

Alex laughed, relieved, and surprisingly, not embarrassed. “Daisy, I’ve never been better.”

“Good deal. Okay, then, I’ll leave you to it.” Daisy giggled. “Or should I say to them?”

When they could no longer hear Daisy’s footsteps, Jeff and Kane helped her to the bed then lay down beside her. Jeff kissed her lightly on the forehead. “I know this may sound silly after what we just did, but I need to hear it. I love you, Alex. Tell us you’re ours.”

She still wanted to play. “Only if you tell me that you’re both mine. No choosing one over the other.”

  “Woman, it’s a done deal.”

She loved Kane calling her woman almost as much as she loved it when he called her darlin’. “It’s good to have that finally settled.”

“And you’re staying, right? I mean, here in Destiny.”

She hadn’t thought that far ahead. Had, in fact, thought she’d be going home alone to Tulsa. “I’d love to. But where would I stay?”

“Daisy will let you stay here until we get things squared away. But you’ll have to quit your job in Tulsa. That commute’s way too long.”

Kane was right. If she wanted to be with her men—and where else would she be?—she’d have to leave her job and move to Destiny. She couldn’t ask both of them to give up their jobs. “I guess I’m going to have to do a better job of convincing Mayor Pickerson to hire me. The town needs an emergency preparedness plan whether he wants to admit it or not.”

“Then it’s settled.” Jeff skimmed a finger over her breast, giving her a sizzle of renewed lust. “You’ll have to get things wound up in Tulsa, but you can stay at Daisy’s every weekend until you’re moved. In the meantime, we’ll talk to Gabriel about getting some land and starting construction on a home.”

“So you want me to live with you? You don’t want to date for a while?”

  “Hell, no.”

She laughed. Once again, they’d answered at the same time.

“Did I forget to tell you? I love you, too.” Kane seemed almost shy at saying the words.

“And I love both of you,” she answered, filled with joy.

“We don’t need to date and we don’t need any more time.” Kane played with the corner of her mouth with his thumb. “Unless you do.”

“Nope. I’m good.” She was far better than good.

“Same here by the way. I can’t wait until we can wake up next to you every morning.” Jeff skimmed his fingers along her arm.

“Then we’ll live on the ranch?” She’d never lived in the country before, but the idea of being around nature and animals was exciting. She’d even get to see Avery more. “I’d love it.”

Kane traced a circle around her other nipple. “What about kids, Alex? Do you want a few?”

“A few? How many is a few?”

Kane gave her a grin that reminded her of Jeff’s. They were getting more and more like each other. “As many as you want to give us.”

She let out a low whistle. “Two or three would be good. But if they turn out to be anything like Mikey, we’re hiring a full-time nanny. There’s no way I could handle one like him by myself.”

Kane and Jeff exchanged one of their knowing looks. Jeff’s grin matched Kane’s. “Sure. No problem. But there’s a worse scenario than having a Mikey.”

She pretended shock. “What in the world would that be?”

Kane lifted an eyebrow. “You could get two boys. One like Jeff and one like me.”

Jeff chuckled. “And you know they’ll be at each other from the moment they’re born.”

“Oh, hell. Not that!” She widened her eyes, then pushed away from them and darted for the door. As she’d expected, they caught her before she could turn the doorknob. She broke into giggles as they carried her back to bed.

“Why is this woman always running away from us?” Kane scowled.

“Beats the hell out of me.” Jeff nodded at Kane, and together, they tossed her back on top of the bed.

She squealed as they landed on either side of her. “Don’t you get it? It’s fun getting caught.”

  Epilogue

Alex could almost make the trip from Tulsa to Destiny in her sleep. She’d done it often enough over the past two months. But this time was different. This time she had big news. And not just one piece of life-changing news, but two.

She pulled her new car into the parking lot behind Daisy’s place and put it into park. If her heart beat any faster, she’d have to call for a defibrillator. Yet trying not to be excited was like wishing away a tornado. It just wasn’t going to happen.

“Hey, you’re back.” Daisy lifted a hand in greeting and opened the back door for her.

“Are they here?” She hoped Daisy wouldn’t think her rude, but she couldn’t wait a moment longer.

“Now where else would they be when they know you’re coming back into town? I practically had to tie them to the bed.”

“I’m sorry? Is there something you need to tell me?” She was happy to have two men share her, but sharing them with another woman? No way in hell would that ever happen.

Daisy laughed. “No, not for the reason you’re thinking. But if they had come downstairs one more time and asked if you were here yet, I would’ve had no choice but to hogtie them to the posts just to get them out of my hair.”

It had been the same every time she’d made the trip back to Destiny. Giving her notice to her employer as well as her apartment landlord, then winding up all the loose ends at work, had taken a lot longer than she’d expected. She was ready to move to Destiny even without a job. Thankfully, Daisy had offered her a room for no charge. But things had changed since then.

She stopped, remembering that she’d forgotten her luggage. “I need to get my bags.”

Daisy grabbed her, taking her by the shoulders and pushing her toward the stairs. “Oh, no you don’t. Your bags can wait. They can’t.”

Alex gave her a grateful smile and hurried up the stairs. Once at the door to her bedroom—the same bedroom they always used—she took a breath and smoothed her hair.

  I should’ve checked my makeup.

She smiled at the silly thought. Any makeup she had on would be wiped away by kisses soon enough. She turned the knob and flung open the door.

Jeff and Kane were on her like horny men who had never had a woman before. She giggled as first Jeff, then Kane swept her into a hug.

“Girl, you are a sight for sore eyes.”

“She’s more than that.” Jeff crushed his mouth to hers. He held her face between his hands and lingered over the kiss.

Until, of course, Kane interrupted them. “Stop hogging her. She’s mine, too, remember?” He gave her a kiss, too, one that rivaled Jeff’s.

She came away from it breathless, but wanting more.

“It’s good to see you, too.” She dropped her gaze, taking in the bulges in their jeans. “Did ya miss me, cowboys?”

“We sure did.” Jeff pulled her into his arms again, but Kane was quick to sidle up as close to her as he could get.

Jeff was already working on the buttons to her blouse. She took his hands and made him stop.

  “What’s wrong?”

Kane’s hands fondled her ample bottom. “Yeah, woman. Can’t you see we need you?” He arched an eyebrow. “Or are you saying
you want it the rough-and-ready way?”

She’d never have dreamed that two men could want her so much. As much as she wanted them. But she had to give them the news before she burst.

“I have to tell you something.” She pushed them away, ignoring their protests.

“Whatever it is, can’t it wait?” Jeff lunged for her, but she backed up.

“No, it can’t.” She drew in another breath. “I got a call from the mayor last week.”

  Now she had their interest.

“Yeah? What’d he want? He didn’t turn you down again, did he?”

She scrunched up her nose at the ever-ready-for-bad-news Kane. “Nope. He offered me a job.”

“You’re kidding? That’s great! We need to celebrate.”

She laughed, once again scurrying to get away from Jeff.

“What kind of a job?” asked Kane.

“I’m going to help coordinate an emergency preparedness plan for the entire county.”

“I thought he always said there wasn’t enough money to hire you.”

“You’re right, Kane. He did. But now they can afford it what with the government aid the town and the county received due to that last tornado.”

“I guess even a tornado has a silver lining.”

She hadn’t thought of it that way and didn’t like to. Even gaining a job helping people after the destruction of a tornado didn’t feel right. Her joy slid away. “Ooh, I’m not sure I like that idea.”

Kane managed to grab her where Jeff had failed. “Naw, don’t think like that. This town and the people in the rest of the county need you. If it gets you to Destiny for good, then I’m sure they’ll be all for it.”

“So are you here for good? You don’t have to go back to Tulsa?”

The eagerness, the yearning in Jeff’s voice warmed her. How amazing was it to be wanted?

She leaned against Kane, enjoying the strong chest. Not getting to stay in Destiny all the time had torn her apart. But all that was over. “Yep. My things are going into storage for now. I just hope Daisy won’t get sick of having me around.”

Kane’s hands started wandering. Jeff pushed up behind her and snaked his hands around to find the button of her slacks.

She sighed, thought about delaying telling them her other news, then decided she couldn’t wait. Once more she got away from them.

“Baby, this is getting annoying.” Jeff tracked a hand through his hair. “Do I need to get all master-to-slave on you?”

“I hope you do, but first I have more news to tell you.”

“As long as it’s as good as the last, then okay, we’ll wait to have you.” Kane gazed down at his crotch. “But you’d better hurry and tell us. It’s getting downright painful, if you know what I mean.”

She took his hand then Jeff’s and pulled them to sit on the bed. Keeping hold of them, she took a deep breath and asked a question she would’ve never asked before falling in love with them. “Tell me. Do you think I’ve gained weight?”

The confusion on their faces didn’t disappear as they both studied her. She bit back her need to tell them.

“I don’t know.” Kane shrugged. “You look as sexy as ever to me.”

“What about you, Jeff? Do you think I’m bigger?”

“Is this a trick question? You know I’ve always loved your size. You’re perfect just the way you are.”

She leaned to the side and gave him a quick peck on the cheek. “That’s why I love you guys.”

  “Hey, where’s mine?”

She rolled her eyes. “Same old, same old. What one gets, the other has to have, too.”

“Well, we did agree to share.” Kane touched a finger to his lips.

She gave him a quick peck as well. “Will you love me if I get even bigger?”

“Of course.” Jeff narrowed his eyes at her. “But something’s up. Spill it, girl. Unless you’d rather I spank it out of you.”

“Yeah, listen to him. And besides, more of you just means there’s more to love.”

Could Kane have said anything sweeter?

“Hmm, that’s tempting, Jeff, but we’d better take it easy for a while and leave the rough stuff alone for now.”

  “But why?”

She darted her gaze from one man she loved to the other. “Well, I wouldn’t want to do anything to hurt the baby.”

A bomb could’ve exploded in the room and she doubted they would’ve noticed. All their attention was focused on her.

  “A baby? Our baby?”

Jeff reached around her to punch Kane’s shoulder. “You idiot. Of course it’s our baby.”

Kane stammered, trying to make up for his mistake. “Uh, no, I mean, that didn’t come out right. I know it’s ours. I just meant that it’s ours.” He zigzagged his fingers between the three of them.

She forgave him. After all, she’d thrown them a curve ball. “It’s okay.” She searched their faces. Were they happy about the news?

“So, it’s a good thing, right?”

“Hell, no, it’s not.” Her heart dropped to her stomach when Jeff jumped up and paced to the other side of the room.

  “Now who’s an idiot?”

Jeff was back by her side and taking her hand. “He’s right. I’m an idiot, too. I didn’t mean it like that. I can’t tell you how happy I am that you’re pregnant.”

  “Me, too,” added Kane.

“It’s just that we’ve barely gotten started on our new home and I wanted it finished by the time we started our family.”

So that’s what they’d been doing every time she’d called and they weren’t “available.” She giggled, unable to suppress her excitement. Gabriel had made excuses for them, but she’d sensed that he was hiding the truth. “Are you talking about our new home?”

  “Course I am.”

Kane bumped his shoulder against hers. “We were hoping to surprise you, but you’ve gone and blown that.” A huge smile, a rare thing for him, filtered onto his face.

“We got some land from Gabriel and broke ground last month.” Jeff lifted her hand and pressed a kiss to her palm. “You’re going to love it.”

“I know I will. Can we go see it? The land, I mean.” Her hopes, her dreams had all come true in a matter of weeks. And the future looked even better.

“Nope. You’re not going anywhere near the place. Isn’t that right, Kane?”

  “When you’re right, you’re right.”

“No? But why not?” How could they tease her with a new home and not let her see it being built?

Jeff pushed her down on the bed. He and Kane leaned over her. She laughed as Kane started undoing the buttons on her blouse and pulling her shirt open.

“It’s simple, woman.” Kane bent to rake his tongue along her exposed collarbone.

“Yeah, simple. Our needs come first.”

She giggled, feeling loved and desired. “Yes, Masters.”
