Yaoyao was unable to utilise Genesis Qi. Hence, she did battle in the most simple and crudest manner. One could only watch as scroll after scroll of grade 4 Genesis Rune appeared in her hand, before being thrown at her opponent.
As the one on the receiving end of Yaoyao’s ‘money’ bombardment, Gu Qiu’s situation was extremely miserable while unable to believe what was happening.
Grade 4 Genesis Runes. Although it was something their Gu clan had too, they were treated as high-end strategic treasures and the consumption of each one would greatly pain the heart.
Yet, the girl in green seemed to have an endless supply of Grade 4 Genesis Runes, a fortune even greater than the entirety of their Gu clan.
Though he was in quite a difficult situation due to Yaoyao’s onslaught of grade 4 Genesis Runes, he had been able to persist with the home ground advantage.
“Our power is inexhaustible in the Spirit Devouring Tower. Let’s see which runs out first, your Genesis Runes or my perseverance.” A grim expression clouded Gu Qiu’s eyes.
Just as this thought flashed across his head however, he suddenly realised that the black mist within the tower had begun to dissipate.
The entire tower began to tremble at this moment.
Those still immersed inside the black mist began to awaken one after another, dazed looks in their eyes.
“Darn it, the Spirit Refining Crystal has been removed!”
“Why didn’t Gu Lang protect it? Is he incapable of even dealing with a Qi Nourishing stage small fry?!” Gu Qiu’s complexion turned ashen.

The two Gu clan elders were miserably flung backwards. Their expressions rapidly changed when they saw the receding black mist, causing them to involuntarily cry out, “How is this possible? How could that small fry have made it past Gu Lang?!”
Upon hearing their voices, Luluo’s eyes widened in shock. She had originally believed that Zhou Yuan would fail, and thus never imagined that he would actually succeed.
Luluo large eyes blinked as she mumbled to herself, “Little bro Zhou Yuan is pretty amazing huh.”
Chapter 126 Escaping Unscathed
The black mist faded from the Spirit Devouring Tower.
Numerous figures blankly stared at their surroundings, evidently still in the dark about what had happened. However, the battle between Yaoyao’s side and the Gu clan was quickly noticed by several individuals, making them start to realise that something was wrong.
Yaoyao’s gaze took one quick sweep around the area. Her Spirit began to flicker as a voice suddenly rang out in everyone’s ears.
“This is no Spirit Refining Tower but a Spirit Devouring Tower. If you do not want your Spirit to be completely devoured and be used for the Gu clan’s cultivation, leave quickly!”
The moment these words were heard, the expression of countless people turned aghast with horror.
“What? Not a Spirit Refining Tower but a Spirit Devouring Tower?”
“But why do I feel that my Spirit cultivation has improved?”
“EH? Someone died here? Why is his Spirit gone?!”
“Just what exactly happened here?!”
“......”
Cries of alarm rang out one after another. Although Yaoyao’s words were shocking, there were still some who felt that something was fishy about the situation and began to withdraw one by one with the intent of leaving the tower.

One of the elders immediately nodded and retrieved a black whistle. A peculiar sound spread, instantly notifying every expert of the Gu clan, causing them to hurriedly flood towards the Spirit Devouring Tower.
“Spirit Link!”
Gu Qiu’s eyes were cold and ruthless as he looked towards the two elders.
The two elders hesitated for a moment. Spirit Link was a secret technique of their Gu clan that gathered the Spirits of several people to perform combined attacks. However, the repercussions were not small, and negligence would lead to hurting one’s Spirit.
However, they quickly nodded in acknowledgement, swiftly appearing behind Gu Qiu and placing their hands on his shoulders. Their Spirits flickered between their brows as Spirit energy flooded into Gu Qiu’s body.
Light began to rise from between Gu Qiu’s brows, his Spirit power rapidly rising.
Rumble!
An invisible ripple swept outwards. Although not as striking as Genesis Qi, invisible Spirit attacks could take one’s life without drawing a single drop of blood.
Roar!
Tuntun’s and the ice bird’s titanic bodies jerked back as they howled, their Beast Spirits affected by the invisible ripple. Vigilance immediately surfaced within their eyes. Though their bodies were tough, Spirit waves could ignore the body and directly attack their Spirits.
Yaoyao’s Spirit flickered as she extended a hand. “Spirit shield!”
A transparent shield of light appeared in front of here, blocking the Spirit wave. However, the surface of the shield rippled violently, a clear indicator that it would not last for long.
The gathered power of three Spirits had greatly amplified Gu Qiu’s Spirit cultivation.
“Big sis, things aren’t looking good.” Said Luluo in a soft voice. This was after all the Gu clan’s territory, and many experts were rushing over each second. If they were surrounded, the situation would become extremely dire.
Yaoyao gave a slight nod and said, “Prepare to break out.”
Their goal had already been reached. There was no need to waste any more time here.
Upon hearing this, a clear whistle immediately rang out from Luluo’s mouth. The ice bird called Little Frost flapped its wings and flew towards her as her tiny body leaped into the air and landed on its back.
Tuntun also arrived on scarlet Qi and Yaoyao landed on its back.
At the same time, Zhou Yuan bolted over from far away. With a stamp of his foot, his soared into the air and landed behind Yaoyao, his hands naturally reaching out to embrace the slender waist in front of him.
The instant he came into contact with Yaoyao’s waist, Zhou Yuan felt her body stiffen for a split second, before she turned her head shot him a half bashful half angry glare. An extremely rarely seen blush had appeared on her white as jade like face.
Zhou Yuan awkwardly raised his hands and said, “There’s nowhere else to put them.”
Yaoyao softly snorted. She knew that this was not the place to dish out some punishment. With a wave of her hand, Tuntun transformed into a flash of scarlet tha
t shot out of the tower.
“Where do you think you’re going?!”
Roared Gu Qiu when he saw this. The Gu clan’s plans had been ruined by the Zhou Yuan trio, and the following days will not be easy for them. Allowing the troublemakers to escape would likely cause him to die in anger.
Light flashed between Gu Qiu’s brows as an almost fully corporeal Spirit appeared above his head. The Spirit was as tall as Gu Qiu and transformed into a translucent blur that rocketed towards Zhou Yuan, Yaoyao and Tuntun at an incredibly fast speed.
Zhou Yuan’s expression immediately changed at the sight of this scene. He could sense how powerful Gu Qiu’s Spirit was. If they were hit, Zhou Yuan’s Spirit would surely be gravely injured.
At this moment however, Yaoyao swung her hand and several dazzling objects shot out from her sleeve, transforming into numerous scrolls on which complicated runes began to appear.
Boom boom boom!
The scrolls exploded, each clearly a grade 4 Genesis Rune.
Berserk energies engulfed the area, blowing away Gu Qiu’s Spirit.
Tuntun took this split second opportunity to burst forward, charging out of the black tower and right into the horizon in a few breaths.
“Stop them!”
Outside the tower, the many waiting Gu clan experts attacked. Pillar after pillar of Genesis Qi seemed to cover the sky as they closed in on Tuntun.
Roar!
Tuntun merely roared in the face of these attacks and opened its mouth. Black light surged like a black hole, swallowing every single one of the attacks.
The Gu Qiu trio finally arrived outside of the tower, but could only watch in frustration as the silhouettes of the two Genesis Beasts rapidly shrank into the distance. There was no longer any hope of catching up.
“Haha, I’ll be helping you keep this treasure of yours so as to prevent any further victims.” While they left, Zhou Yuan turned his head, swinging the black crystal ball in his hand as his hearty laughter echoed across the area.
Gu Qiu’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as he howled, “Little thief, put down my Gu clan’s supreme treasure!”
The Gu clan had been able to specialize in Genesis Runes due to the existence of the black crystal ball. Once it was gone, it was hard to imagine how great of a loss it would be.
However, Zhou Yuan ignored his howls. The two Genesis Beasts swiftly disappeared into the horizon, leaving behind the scattered mess that remained of the Gu clan.
Urgh!
As Gu Qiu watched them leave, he could no longer contain his anger and vomited a mouthful of blood.
He pulled one of the elders to him and said in a voice dripping with bitter resentment, “Send news of what happened to Gu Ling. Tell her that her brother has been killed and the murderers are likely headed for the Saint Remains Domain.”
“As the prided genius of the Black Yin Sect, she must kill that piece of trash and take back our Gu clan’s supreme treasure!”
Towards the end, his voice had practically become a hiss.
Chapter 127 Splitting the Treasure
Deep in the mountains far from Gu City, two Genesis Beasts descended from the sky.
Tuntun turned back into its little beast form and jumped into Yaoyao’s arms, while the ice bird also transformed into a small bird and hopped onto Luluo’s shoulder.
“Quick! Take out the treasure for us to see.” Luluo’s large eyes were filled with wonder as she looked at Zhou Yuan, her face overflowing with curiosity and anticipation. After causing such havoc in the Gu clan, the only benefits they got was that thing in Zhou Yuan’s hand.
Zhou Yuan smiled and nodded. He patted his Universe bag and the black crystal ball appeared in his hand.
“What is it?” Luluo inspected the ball, somewhat puzzled. Although she was able to detect the extremely pure Spirit source contained within the crystal ball, she could not identify it.
Yaoyao walked forward and concentrated on the ball for a few moments, before a slightly bewildered voice sounded, “This is… a Saint Spirit Crystal?”
“Saint Spirit Crystal?” Asked both Zhou Yuan and Luluo. They had evidently not heard of it before.
Yaoyao seemed to sigh as she explained, “It is a true treasure and has been called the gem of the Spirit. I would never have expected to find it in the hands of a tiny clan such as the Gu clan.”
Zhou Yuan curiously inquired, “What function does it have?”
“With it in your possession, even if you do not practice any Spirit tempering method, your Spirit will be continuously refined and strengthened.” Yaoyao looked towards Zhou Yuan as she continued, “Of course, if you also practice a Spirit tempering method, it will be akin to adding wings to a tiger.”
“Moreover, the most amazing thing about it is its ability to absorb Spirit power and transform it into Spirit source energy to strengthen itself. If you are able to refine the crystal and make it your own, as long as the difference is not too great, anyone who dares to attack with the Spirit will likely end up as its food. Thus, it is said to be the ultimate treasure with regards to defending against Spirit attacks.”
Zhou Yuan and Luluo wet their lips when they heard this. In a certain sense, both of them could be said to be Spirit cultivators, and hence clearly understood the value of the Saint Spirit Crystal.
The function of being able to increase one’s Spirit cultivation speed alone made it practically priceless.

However, Luluo generously spoke up at this moment, “No need to take me into consideration. If not for you guys, I may have even fallen for the Gu clan’s plot.”
She knew that the majority of the risk had been taken by Yaoyao and Zhou Yuan.
In addition, she had originally intended on entering the Spirit Refining Tower. If not for Yaoyao deciphering the secret of the Spirit Devouring Tower, her Spirit may have even be sucked away like some of the more unfortunate individuals.
Yaoyao gave Luluo a second glance when she heard this. Soon after, she said with a smile, “Relax, there’s something for everyone.”
These words made Luluo rather happy and pleased. If there were enough benefits to be split, no one would grumble that his share was too much.
Yaoyao pointed at the black crystal ball and said, “Over the years, the Gu clan has used this Saint Spirit Crystal to absorb quite an incredible amount of Spirit source energy. However, their crude methods were incapable of taking out all of this accumulated energy.”
“In turn, this has now benefited us.”
As her words fell, Yaoyao took out a Genesis Brush. The brush tip descended, drawing extremely complex Genesis Runes on the black crystal. These Genesis Runes weaved together, emitting a peculiar undulation.
Luluo could not help but praise out loud as she watched, “Big sis Yaoyao, your mastery over Genesis Runes is truly amazing!”
Her Spirit was not weak, but the sight of those Genesis Runes still made her feel a little dizzy. It was obvious that the runes Yaoyao were drawing were not ordinary at all.
Yaoyao was fully immersed in her work, making her unable to reply. It would seem it was going to be a little strenuous even for her this time, densely packed sweat appearing on her gleaming forehead.
Zhou Yuan pulled back the insatiably curious Luluo such that Yaoyao would not be disturbed.
This lasted for almost an entire hour before Yaoyao finally breathed out
as if a huge burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
In front of her, the surface of the black crystal ball was already dotted with numerous Genesis Runes.
The Genesis Brush in Yaoyao’s hand gently pointed at the crystal.
One could only watch as the runes began to glow brightly. Rays of light that were both dazzling and divine seemed to burn like a holy fire as they fully engulfed the crystal ball.

The sound of frying oil seemed to echo from within the light.
Zhou Yuan and Luluo watched in amazement as the crystal ball rapidly began to shrink while a mysterious liquid slowly dripped down from it.
Yaoyao nimbly retrieved a few jade bottles and collected the mysterious liquid.
In a short few minutes, the originally head-sized crystal ball had shrunk to the size of a baby’s fist. It was no longer black , but instead a milky white on which faint and mysterious patterns could be seen.
Yaoyao lightly swirled one of the jade bottles. One could see drops of liquid slowly flowing within as if they possess a mind of their own, an extremely mystical sight.
Zhou Yuan curiously asked, “What is it?”
The sight of the liquid caused his Spirit to stir hungrily as if a starving person had suddenly seen a sumptuous feast.
“It is the purest Spirit source energy, one of the best supplements for the Spirit.” Yaoyao smiled.
“There’s a total of twelve drops here.” Yaoyao handed one of the jade bottles to Luluo and said, “These four are for you.”
“Thank you big sis!”
Luluo’s large eyes were practically glowing as she received the bottle. These four drops of Spirit source energy were akin to half a year of tough training. It was indeed a huge haul.
Yaoyao held out another bottle and swayed it before the anxiously waiting Zhou Yuan. “As for you… you get two drops.”
Zhou Yuan gave a pained look. “Why do I get two drops?”
Yaoyao flatly said, “The other two drops have been deducted by me due to your earlier transgressions.”
She was obviously referring to the matter of Zhou Yuan grabbing her waist.
