River knocked on the door. A few moments later, Leigh called, “Come in.”
River pushed the door open and froze, causing Avery and Josie to run into her. “Ahhhh!” she squealed and covered her eyes while she burst into a fit of laughter. Avery and Josie had similar reactions.
“Let me see,” I demanded and used my elbows to move them out of the way.
“Oh, holy shit!” I laughed. Bear was sprawled out on the couch in nothing but a pair of red boxer briefs and a copy of Claiming Mine by Amy Davies laying open across his crotch.
With his ankles crossed and his head propped in his hand, he winked and asked, “Are we going to discuss this book? Or would you like to keep staring at my nipples?”
Laughing, I closed my eyes and shook my head. “Do I even want to know why?”
Leigh came around the corner holding a phone. It was clear she’d recorded the entire thing. “Something about payback for replacing deodorant with cream cheese.”
“Hey! That video has over seven hundred thousand views,” I pointed out.
Bronze appeared behind Leigh and took the phone from her hands. “Bet this one will have more.”
“Oh yeah? Whatcha wanna bet?” I asked.
“If I win, you have to dye your hair pink and wear pink dresses to work every day for a month.”
My initial reaction was to scowl, but it quickly morphed into a broad smile as I held out my hand. “And if I win, you have to do the same.”
“Fuck,” Bronze cursed before he reached out and shook my hand. “Deal.”
