Now he grinned at her foolishly, and her heart did a wild gyration when she realized he was really there.
“Cast me a spell, genie.” His words were softly spoken, but she heard every syllable, and his eyes were dark with promise. Within his words she recognized he accepted her for what she was. And even celebrated the knowledge of her skills.
“What sort of a spell should I cast, master?” she asked, joyously tilting her head and tossing her hair back over her shoulder. She knew something had changed, though she wasn’t yet sure what it might be.
“Something that gets us out of here where we can be alone.”
With a seductive smile, she rotated her hips and rippled the muscles of her stomach. She flexed her shoulders. A visible sheen of sweat appeared on Parker’s forehead. He was aroused, and so was she. But to what purpose?
“Between us, you have always had the greater power, Parker Dunlap. You cast the spell.”
He rose and moved toward her. Slowly. Purposefully.
She licked her lips, even while she felt the beat of the music throbbing low in her body.
The cowboys sitting near the dance floor quieted, as if they, too, understood the import of Parker’s presence.
“I want you to come home with me, genie.”
“Why?” She echoed the question that had haunted them both.
He caught her arm, so sweet in his gentle caress. “Because you have taught me to love, Nesrin. I didn’t think I could until you showed me how. Please come home with me.”
She slid into his embrace. “Kiss me, Parker. Cast us a spell that takes us away from this place. You alone are the most powerful wizard of all.”
His lips crossed hers and she was transported. Beyond the bar and the cowboys watching mesmerized, beyond the ragged peaks of the Rockies. His tongue teased with hers, hot and hungry. A cool mountain breeze fanned her heated flesh. She was in a timeless warp. Centuries became insignificant. Time had no meaning.
When she opened her eyes they were alone under the dome of a clear, starlit sky, somewhere between the earth and the heavens above.
“Do you truly love me?” she asked breathlessly.
“More than life itself.” Parker pulled her tight into his arms. He’d been searching for Nesrin all of his life. From this moment forward he would never let her go.
He claimed her mouth again in an incantation of love, and they materialized in some magic place. Flesh pressed against flesh, hot and needy, floating through time and space with the power of their combined wizardry. In roughly whispered words of lust and love, Parker cast his spell over Nesrin, binding her to him through eternity, and beyond. Fears vanished. Love grew and expanded to encompass the enchanted landscape.
Together they tumbled past the planets, and when they settled gently back to earth they were wrapped in each other’s arms. The light that needed no wick cast a warm golden glow across Parker’s bed. The soft cooing sound of dozens of white mourning doves filled the room, the gentle call of lovebirds who had at last found happiness.
Nesrin smiled. Parker Dunlap was indeed a powerful wizard to have cast such a spell. To him she would joyously submit each day...and each night—as long as he agreed to do some submitting of his own.
