Angel Warriors Page 16

“Aren’t you a sweet, little puppy?” Her voice was so husky, it just dripped sex.

“Why don’t you come over here and I’ll show you how sweet I really am,” Cam said as he spun his tonfa.

“Fine, but first drop your weapons.” She opened her hands to show that they were empty. “I am unarmed.”

“Fine.” He tossed aside his tonfa. “Bare fists it is.”

Unless you happen to have a whip handy. You can use that on me any time.

He was so lost in his raunchy thoughts that he didn’t even see her coming. She launched herself at him and backhanded him across the face. His lip split open, and blood poured down his chin. She gave him a wicked, seductive smile and, to his horror, he found himself grinning back at her. He must be losing it. Here she was kicking his butt and he was totally into her.

He balled up his fist and raised it but hesitated. She was small and delicate looking. He didn’t want to hurt her. She used that moment to bitch slap him again. Oh yeah, she’s a demon, almost forgot that little tidbit.

He tried to spin around and hit her back, but his bum leg gave out on him. He fell to the ground hitting his head painfully on the floor.

She threw her body and top of his. Straddling him, she ripped the front of his shirt open and raked her nails down the front of his chest leaving behind bloody scratches. He grabbed her hips in order to throw her off but found himself gripping them tight, pressing her body into his, grinding her into his erection. Leaning down, she licked the blood off his chin.

“Mmm,” she purred. “Angel blood tastes so sweet.”

“That’s not the only thing that tastes sweet.” His hands left her hips. He hesitantly started to touch her all over. Seeing that he was unsure of what to do, she started to guide his hands to the right places.

“I was right. You are a little puppy,” she marveled. “This is your first time, isn’t it?’

He could only nod his head in affirmation. She had started to let her hands roam over his body and all ability to speak left him. He knew it was his job to fight her, and he was going to do just that. Honest he was, in just a few minutes.

As she unzipped his pants she dipped her head down toward his mouth, Cam reached up to meet her halfway. Their lips met in a vicious, hard kiss. His tongue explored her mouth tentatively touching her fangs. Finally, he forced himself to stop.

“I’m not supposed to be doing this,” he panted out.

“Now, now, little one. Didn’t anyone ever tell you that female demons were fair game? You can have sex with us all you want, no strings attached.”

Yes, right before he had left for Earth, Nathaniel had taught him all about the angel birds and bees. Humans were off limits and you couldn’t touch a female angel unless she was your mate, but female demons were a whole different matter. You just had to be very careful around the demons. There had been many a male angel that had lost valuable body parts during sex. So whatever you do, don’t let them ever touch … Oh boy, she was touching it and it felt too good to make her stop.

He let out a sound that was equal parts gasp of surprise and groan of ecstasy. Growing more bold by the second, he reached up and cupped her breasts through her top. She threw back her head and whimpered in happiness. No babe, the pleasure is all mine.

“If I had any sense left in me, I’d stop this,” he growled out between kisses.

“If you want to stop, then stop,” she said as she started to nuzzle his neck.

When she sank her fangs into him, he let out a cry. It should have hurt, but instead it drove him over the edge. He sat up and gripped her tightly in his lap, showing her that he was the one in charge now. He fisted his hands in her hair and held her tight to him as she fed off of him.

As he started to unlace her top, he knew there was no way he was going to stop.

An hour later, he sat on the ground and watched her getting dressed. He had only bothered to put on his jeans. He knew that he should feel guilty but strangely, he didn’t.

In fact, for the first time since he had been poisoned, he felt relaxed. It felt so good to finally have his emotions in check. A demon did that for him who would though it?

  “What’s your name?” he murmured.

“Like you really care.” She scoffed at him.

“No, I mean it. What’s your name?”

She stopped and turned to him, a shocked expression on her face. She was obviously not used to being treated with respect. She gave him a small smile.

“We both know what I am, little puppy. I’m just a succubus. I am beneath an angel,” she turned her back to him.

When he saw her struggling with the ties on her top he went up and helped her. Silently he laced up the back of her top for her. When he was done, he placed a small kiss on her bare shoulder.

“You’re not beneath anyone,” he whispered in her ear.

“Stop being so nice to me, Cam.” She was crying.

His heart skipped a beat. “How do you know my name?”

“Every demon knows your name. Douma and Forcas have placed a huge bounty on your head.”

“What?” He spun her around so she had to look at him. “Was all this some kind of trap?”

“At first,” she admitted softly. “But don’t worry. There is no way I could ever turn you in.”

“Are they going to be mad at you?” He didn’t want her to get in trouble over him.

“I have no plans on telling them of our little encounter, and I know you’re not going to be telling any of your friends and family either.”

He didn’t bother to argue with her about that one. Having sex with demons was not exactly dinner table conversation.

“You need to be careful, my little puppy. Every demon is looking for you.” Her weird green eyes were narrowed with concern.

“Why me?” He was confused. He was just an empath, a nobody. She just shrugged her shoulders. Wrapping her arms around him, she hugged him tight. He stroked her hair as his mind spun.

“I need to go.” She wiped her nose as she pulled away from him.

She waved her hand and a small piece of paper appeared in her fingers. She pushed it into his hand. Before she turned away, she gave him a peck on the cheek.

“Call me anytime, puppy. You better hurry and get dressed. Your family is right outside. By the way, my name is Lilith.”

She then walked out leaving him alone. He looked down at the piece of paper and crumpled it up in his fist. He started to throw it away then changed his mind and put it in his pocket instead.

Hearing voices outside, he started to panic. He turned to run towards his clothes and cursed when a fresh wave of pain shot through him. The extracurricular activity that he had just participated in had made his leg even worse. He hopped over to his boots and struggled to put them on. He wished he had worn his old tennis shoes, but Abdiel had told him the boots would be better for fighting.

Of course he fell. He looked up to see Ramiel and Nathaniel looking at him with knowing smiles on their faces. He closed his eyes as he groaned.

“How ya doing, little brother?” Ramiel asked him with a snicker.

He ignored them and pulled on his boots. He reached over and grabbed a fresh tee shirt out of his bag. Before he could put it on, Nathaniel stopped him.

“You let her bite you?” he asked, horror on his face. “Didn’t I teach you better than that?”

Cam looked down at his chest and saw several bite marks. He had forgotten about those. He quickly pulled on his shirt to hide them.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he lied to his brothers.

“Come on, like you’re the first angel to get some demon tail.” Ramiel laughed at him.

“Don’t tell Ana,” Cam snapped at them.

“Your secret’s safe with us,” Nathaniel hauled him to his feet. “I’m not suicidal enough to be the one to tell her that one of her baby brothers was making nice with some demoness.”

Ana came in at that moment. She was
dressed as a human wearing white jeans and a white leather jacket. As soon as she saw him, her eyes widened in concern.

“We have been looking for you all night. When I found out that some demon had carried you away, I was worried sick.” She ran over to him. “Oh Cam, you look like hell. I should have brought Derel with us. You need a healer bad.”

“You have no idea,” Ramiel muttered under his breath. Cam shot him a murderous glare.

She pulled a tissue out of her pocket. Wetting it with her spit she started to wipe the blood off his face. He gently pushed her hand away.

“I’m fine. Just get me home,” he told her.

She nodded and started to turn away. Suddenly she stopped and turned around. Her eyes flashing, she pointed to his chest.

“What is that?” she asked angrily.

Panicked, Cam looked down at his chest. To his relief he saw she was pointing at the lettering on his shirt. It read “You’re just jealous because the voices in my head only talk to me.”

He let out a breath of relief. “It’s just a goof, Ana.”

“Everything is just a goof with you, Cam. I mean honestly, can’t you take anything seriously?”

She stormed off in a huff. His brothers helped him outside to where the car waited. They still could not flash anywhere, so they would have to rely on human transportation.

As his sister gave him another angry look, he felt his own fury rise up in him. She had lied to him again. How dare she cop an attitude with him?

“By the way, Ana, when were you going to tell me the big family secret? Or were you planning on keeping Cammie in the dark forever?”

As soon as he spat out the words, his family looked at him with shock. Their Cam had never talked with such venom before. He pulled out of his brother’s grip and turned to stare them down too. They had been there that day too when their mother had told him not to use his powers. They were just as guilty as she was.

“Tell you what?” Ana’s voice trembled uncertainly.

Instead of answering her, he held up his hand. A small pebble flew from the ground. He caught it and showed it to her.

  “Oh, that,” she said weakly.

“What else are you guys not telling me?” he yelled at her before he threw the rock.

“Nothing, I swear.” For the first time that both of them could remember, she was backing up from him.

“Cam…” Nathaniel started to say, but Cam held up a hand to stop him.

“So you mean to tell me that you knew nothing about this?”

He turned to an abandoned car. He lifted his hand and released an arch of flame. The car burst into fire and then exploded. Right before he passed out, he heard his brothers cursing.

He woke up to Ramiel smacking him on both sides of his cheeks. He realized he was lying down in the backseat of the car. Nathaniel was driving, and Ana was in the front passenger seat.

“Impressive,” Ramiel drawled out. “You fart flames from your hand, and then you faint like a girl.”

“Go screw yourself,” he snarled as he sat up and rubbed his pounding head.

“Real potty mouth you developed there,” Nathaniel drawled out. “Very angelic of you.”

Cam curled his lip at his brother. Using both hands, he saluted him with his two middle fingers. Ramiel smacked him on the back of his head. Cam scowled as he rubbed it. He slowly became aware of the sobs coming from the front of the car.

“Ana,” Cam was shocked. “Are you crying?”

He had never made her cry before. He and Ana had always been the closest sibs in the family. Yet here she sat in the front seat sobbing and it was all his fault. Instantly, all his anger dissolved. Ana was his world. He didn’t love anyone as much as he loved her. He felt like such a dweeb.

“I didn’t know that you could do that last thing.” She hiccupped. “Please, don’t hate me.”

He leaned forward and reached around the seat to give her an awkward hug. Kissing her hair, he squeezed her. Both of his brothers were shooting him dirty looks. Not that he blamed them; nobody hurt their sister.

“Don’t cry, Ana Bana,” he used his childhood nickname for her. “I’m sorry I was such a jerk. I could never hate you.”

“Only the three of us knew about the telekinesis,” Nathaniel told him. “Mom and Dad hid it.”

“Why?” Cam asked as he continued to hug his sister. It felt good to be near her. She had always been the one to kiss his boo-boos when he had been little, and right now he felt like his life was one big, giant boo-boo.

“Every angel that has ever shown the gift has been hunted by demons,” Ramiel supplied.

“No one knows why,” Ana sniffed. “Not even the council.”

“As for that other thing you just did,” Nathaniel’s voice was laced with concern. “We don’t know what the hell that was.”

“I blew up that demon that carried me away,” he admitted. “It was trying to take me to Douma and Forcas. They’ve put a bounty out on me.”

The car was silent as the siblings tried to digest what he had told them. In all of history there had never been a time when a group of Lehor brothers had been that quiet. Finally, Ramiel let out a low whistle.

“I think we better keep this from the council,” Ana shocked them all by saying.

“Ever since I was given the demon blood, I feel different,” Cam blurted out. Confession was good for the soul after all. “I’m all messed up inside. I’m feeling things and doing things that I never would have even thought about before. It’s almost like there is some evil thing in me fighting to get out.”

“Is that why Anfial is afraid of you all of a sudden?” Ramiel asked him.

“I almost…” Cam paused, looking for the right word. “I almost hurt her.”

Then he felt like a dweeb all over again. Ana had started to cry once more.

When they finally got back to his house, Cam let out a gasp of shock. There were dozens of cars parked out front. Angels milled around walking in and out of the house.

Cam wasn’t lying when he had said angels couldn’t drive. Most of the cars were dented and scratched up. One had even been rammed into the tree that was in their front yard.

“Michael is using your house as a command post,” Ana explained. “Since nobody can flash in or out, all the angels have to stay here.”

“How many are there?” Cam asked.

“A couple dozen give or take.”

“Abdiel is not going to be happy about this,” Cam stated the obvious.

“I said as much to Michael,” Ana said. “It just seemed to amuse him. The chief just loves to annoy Abdiel.”

Ramiel’s healer walked out to meet them. He got one look at Cam and let out a smirk. The anger that he had contained in the car surged forward again.

“Looking good, Cam,” Daniel mocked him.

“I’m not in the mood, dumb ass,” Cam snarled at him. He needed to put as much distance between him and that jerk as soon as possible. He knew he was about ready to go over the edge.

“Did you kiss your mother with that mouth?” Daniel shot back.

That comment struck a chord, and the healer knew it. The creep had even started to laugh until Cam turned and looked at him. With a roar that promised retribution, he jerked himself away from his brothers. He attacked the healer, driving him to the ground. Losing control, he punched the other angel again and again.

Daniel was bleeding horribly. He held his hands up to stop the beating. Yet Cam still didn’t stop even though he could hear Ana begging him to. “You shouldn’t play with fire unless you want to get burned,” he yelled.

His brothers came up and tried to pull him back. He easily threw them off of him and ran back to the downed angel. He kicked him hard with his steel tipped boots. He was thrilled to hear the healer’s ribs break.

He was in such a frenzy that he didn’t even notice that Michael had come out. Finally the chief went up and grabbed him by the face. He locked eyes with Cam.

  “It’s
time to stop,” Michael spoke in a low, soothing voice.

“I’m going to destroy him.” Cam roared out. He lifted his hand. A loud crackling sound came from it as he aimed it at Daniel.

“No, you need to calm down.” Michael grabbed Cam’s hand and jerked it down.

“He shouldn’t have talked about my mother.”

Michael placed his hands on Cam’s temples and closed his eyes. The chief archangel eased the anger out of the young angel’s mind. Cam’s head fell back, and his eyelids fluttered shut. When he opened them again, all the anger was gone.

Cam looked over at the healer in horror. The angel was lying there beaten to a pulp and was unconscious. He had done that. He was an empath. He was supposed to ease others pain not bring it on. He looked down and saw that his hands were covered in blood.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered to his chief. “Crap, Michael, I didn’t mean to do that.”

“It’s going to be okay,” Michael told him.

“I don’t think so,” Now that the chief had cleared his mind he realized that he had almost been lost forever to the rage. He had almost become the thing he hunted. “What’s happening to me?”

“Go in and take a shower, and get cleaned up,” Michael urged him. “Derel is here. He can heal your wounds. We can talk more later.”

Cam turned and started toward the house. The crowd parted to let him through. As he walked by the other angels, he could hear them whispering about him.

Now he understood what Abdiel had gone through all these years.

Abdiel stood at the window looking out at the city. The other angels had finally made it there a couple of hours ago. Already things were turning for the better. It was going to take a few days but the angels were going to be able to contain the demons. Unfortunately a lot of damage had already been done to their human brothers. No angel would ever consider this a victory.

There was a knock at the door. He opened it and saw that it was Nathaniel. His usual dancing blue eyes were dead and listless.

“I’m here to take you two back home,” he said dully.
