“I’m not rejecting you. Far from it. But you don’t owe me anything. I won’t follow you around like a pup or anything.”

Aiden laughed, surprising Steven. Why was that reference so funny?

Steven didn’t know what else to say, so he asked, “Where’s Patrick?”

“At work. He waited as long as he could, and he wouldn’t let me wake you. We’ve had your car towed to our mechanic, and I already called our doctor. Do you need to call work?”

Steven nodded. “Yes.” He couldn’t believe they’d already made those arrangements for him. No one had ever been this nice and considerate before, especially with practically no reason to do so.

Aiden handed him a cell phone. “Go ahead. I’ll put towels and some clothes in the bathroom. Mine seem to fit you perfectly. Then I’ll go make some breakfast and give you privacy.”

  “Thanks, Aiden.”

Aiden smiled. “No problem. It’s nice having you here.”

It is? Steven watched him grab some things from the closet and then go into the bathroom. They’re gorgeous and amazing. They didn’t hurt me. In fact, they made me very, very happy. But isn’t this … weird? He shook his head and dialed work, hoping he wouldn’t be in too much trouble.

  ****

Aiden couldn’t help blushing when Steven complimented his French toast a second time. “We both like to cook, but I enjoy it more. Patrick insists I’m better at it.”

Steven wiped his mouth and brought his plate to the sink. He was still limping, but the swelling had gone down overnight. “I’m feeling pretty spoiled, the treatment I’m getting,” he said, sounding both flirty and shy somehow.

Aiden leaned in and kissed him, just a peck on the cheek. “Are you ready to go now? Do you want to get anything from your place?”

Steven grabbed his wallet and looked inside. “No. I’ve got my insurance card, so we’re good.” He held his foot up and wiggled it. “It doesn’t hurt much now, except when I put weight on it.”

“Good. Do you need to go by work or anything?”

Steven shook his head. “No.” He smiled. “You think of everything, it seems.”

Aiden smiled back. “I try.” He grabbed his keys. “I’ll pull the car closer to the door. Be right back.”

  “Okay.”

Aiden felt amazing as he walked outside. Steven wasn’t scared or freaked out. Patrick had been right—Steven was very sweet indeed. Aiden had to adjust his pants as he remembered the way Steven had kissed him and sucked him off the night before. As good as last night had been, Aiden knew all three of them fucking would be amazing. They could take turns being in the middle. Aiden smiled as he started the car. He needed to get his head out of the gutter. One pleasurable encounter was not going to be enough to convince Steven to give them a chance. But, he did feel their chemistry, so part of him knew it was only a matter of time.

  ****

Patrick looked down at his phone to read Aiden’s text a second time. Everything had gone well at the doctor’s office, so Steven was cleared to go back to work right away. Also, Steven’s car would be ready first thing the next day. Steven had graciously accepted their offer of a ride to pick up his car in the morning, but he wouldn’t be joining them for lunch downtown tomorrow, which had been part of Patrick’s plan. Apparently, someone from work had called Steven’s work phone as soon as he heard Steven was hurt, and the message had been waiting for Steven when Aiden took him home. While returning the call, Steven had accepted a lunch invitation. Patrick frowned as he dialed Aiden’s number.

“Hey,” Aiden said when he answered.

“What happened?” Patrick asked, his tone demanding. He loved Aiden with his whole heart, but at times his mate was far too passive.

“He had six mixed calls when he got home. I told him to take them. He’d offered me coffee, so I thought I was doing the right thing by prolonging my stay. I was going to invite him to lunch as I left. He’d already agreed to let us cook dinner for him, so it didn’t occur to me anything might go wrong. How could I have known someone would ask him to lunch?”

Patrick calmed a little. “Okay. You’re right. It’s not your fault. I’m sorry. It just irks me when I’m not completely in control.”

“Oh, I’ve noticed.” Aiden sighed. “Anyway, one was his boss, one his boss’ secretary, and three were clients. The last one was the guy who sits across from him in another cubicle. He took some of Steven’s calls and appointments, so the boss told him what happened. Steven called him back, and they talked for a minute.”

  “And how did Steven seem?”

“Pleased. And flustered. He was surprised by the guy’s invitation. I can tell he really had a hard time making friends wherever he came from.”

“Why was he flustered though? Was he really just surprised?”

“He said the guy is kind of shy, really quiet some days but more talkative if Steven draws him out. He’s the only person Steven has really gotten to know at work so far.”

Patrick groaned. “Was he embarrassed? Is this a date?” He did not like the sound of this guy.

“No. He said it’s just friendly.” Aiden paused.

Patrick counted to five because he could feel more coming. “Aiden?”

“He kind of … blushed. Probably just felt self-conscious because of what happened last night. He made it really clear that this guy is just a friend.”

  “It better stay that way.”

Aiden sighed again. “Patrick, please be nice tonight. Don’t try to boss him around and don’t ask about this guy. He likes us, which is why he wanted to be sure I knew this guy was only a friend. He’s lived here like a week. Please don’t get worked up about this other guy.”

“We had an amazing time last night, and I don’t want anyone getting in the way. Let me be clear here. I’m not upset with Steven. I don’t think he’d fuck us and then walk away. But, if given the choice between dating a guy he already knows and exploring something very new and unconventional with two guys he just met, he might choose the safe path.”

“Then let’s make tonight normal. Let’s get to know him, just talk and laugh and enjoy ourselves.”

The alpha inside of Patrick wanted Steven beneath him that very moment, wanted to fuck Steven deep and claim him. He knew an ordinary human could never understand, but he couldn’t push the urge down completely. “I’ll try.” He attempted to focus and asked, “How did your day together go?”

“Very well. He’s very intelligent and funny. He’s also very, very sweet. He let me kiss him when I left. I only told you about the lunch invitation because otherwise you’d be making plans for tomorrow. I don’t see this guy as a threat.”

Patrick, of course, saw everyone and everything as a threat. “Maybe not now. But what if his shyness stems from liking Steven? Or what if he’s not out of the closet? Is Steven out at work?”

“Yes, he said he is. He’s tired of hiding, so this guy has to know he’s gay.”

Patrick groaned internally, fisting his hand in the leg of his khakis. “We’ll just have to make sure Steven sees we’re serious. I want him to know we aren’t looking for a fuck buddy or a new boy toy or something like that.” Patrick took a deep breath. “You’re gonna have to turn on the charm to smooth away my rough edges.”

“He reacts to you the way I do. He feels the alpha in you and seems to want to submit. I don’t think he really sees your rough edges.”

“We’ve had one encounter. We have to work hard tonight and set just the right tone, both sweet and seductive.”

Aiden didn’t say anything. Patrick knew this meant he was worried. “Baby,” Patrick said, “Listen, okay?”

  “Okay. I’m listening.”

“He’s right for us. He’s ours.”

“And if he heard you say that he’d think we were crazy. I can’t work much charm if your edges are too rough.”

Patrick let the interruption slide. “I know, baby. But I need him to feel my power, and I need him to see how amazing
you are as well. I’m sure he already saw it at least a little today. Am I right?”

“We got to know each other and talked a lot. He seemed at ease around me. And when I said good-bye, he leaned in for the kiss. He didn’t just wait for me to bridge the distance.”

Patrick smiled a little. Of course he did. Who could resist you? “Good.”

“I don’t think we should try for anything sexual. Last night was intense for him. I don’t want him with us for orgasms.”

“He’s not like that. He wanted the affection and the contact as much as the pleasure.” Patrick looked at his watch. “I have a meeting, baby. Just think about what I said.”

“I will, but I want to talk before he gets here tonight.”

“All right. We will. I love you. Bye.”

  “Love you, too. Bye.”

Patrick hung up, his mind already drifting to their evening together.

  Chapter Four

Aiden panted as Patrick’s tongue speared his ass. Patrick had come home about thirty minutes early. He’d found Aiden and dragged him to the bed, tying him there with black silk blindfolds. Patrick had never done that before, and Aiden loved it. The blindfolds had been a gag gift from a friend’s bachelor party, and Aiden had kept them and used them to keep the broken door on his old wardrobe in the spare room securely closed.

Aiden moaned as Patrick drove his tongue deeper. He loved the sensation of being helpless and powerless. His alpha always made him feel that way, but actually being bound made it even better somehow. “Patrick, you’re going to make me come.”

Patrick stopped, inching back and fingering Aiden’s hole. “I want you to make love to him tonight.”

  Aiden’s eyes went wide. “Patrick, I can’t.”

“You sucked him off last night, and he sucked you. I want to see you fuck him. Just you and him together.”

Aiden tried to catch his breath, shaking his head. “I don’t think we should.”

“I’ll tell him I want it.” Patrick licked Aiden’s hole again.

Aiden let out a whimper, the need to come addling his logic. He finally managed to say, “I’m scared. He’s warming to us. I don’t want to come on too strong.”

Patrick groaned in frustration. He jerked his cock, throwing his head back. His hand slowed, and he looked down into Aiden’s eyes. “You don’t know how it feels, longing to claim someone. You will soon, though.” He moved forward and penetrated Aiden, only giving him an inch. “You remember how I claimed you, pounding you into the ground? Kissing every inch of you?”

“Yes,” Aiden said as he trembled. “But I’d scented you. I knew what you were doing. It was instinct for both of us.”

Patrick leaned down. “You were so beautiful.” He kissed Aiden. “Your scent drove me wild. Seeing you roll over and submit made me so happy. I felt complete when you came.”

Aiden arched to take more, pleading with his eyes. Patrick held back at first, but then he sank deep. Aiden cried out in pleasure. “He’s different. He’s not a wolf. All human males respond to you, even though they don’t know why. He’ll be confused no matter how turned on he is.”

“He’ll understand in time. It’s why I want you to be with him first.” Patrick stopped talking and thrust several times. He seated himself deeply and spoke again. “You’ll be gentler, less overwhelming. He loved touching you. I saw it. I’m compromising here, working up to both of us taking him together.”

Aiden started to reply, but Patrick began thrusting hard. He arched to meet each thrust, his balls heavy with cum and his cock leaking his desire. “You’re making me give you what you want.”

“I know what is best for us.” Patrick captured Aiden’s mouth and kissed him roughly.

Aiden gave in to it all, the searing kiss and the deep, hard fucking. He came in a hot burst, crying out, but Patrick didn’t let him go. Aiden tangled his fingers in his lover’s hair, reveling in his alpha’s possession. Patrick slowed to a deep grind, kissing Aiden’s neck and hitting all of his most erogenous spots. Aiden got hard again, and when Patrick felt it he drew back and fucked Aiden with more force while jerking Aiden’s cock.

“Bedroom bully,” Aiden whispered. His cock was so sensitive he knew he wouldn’t last long.

  “You love it.”

“God, yes!” Aiden came, his semen shooting up in a high arc. It dribbled all over his chest and Patrick’s hand, and then Patrick came with a deep roar, filling his ass.

They lay panting together a long time before Aiden said, “I’ll kiss him and see where it goes. All right?”

Patrick was silent so long Aiden thought he would receive no answer. Finally, he said, “I’m scared, too. Scared we’ll lose our chance. His brief spot of bad luck, and his unhappy past, brought him to us. He’s meant for us. I feel it.”

“If he’s meant for us, we don’t need to be afraid.”

Patrick chuckled. “I hate it how smart you are sometimes.”

Aiden laughed, too. “I know. Now, let’s get cleaned up. I need to prep some stuff for dinner. He’ll be ready for you to pick him up at seven.”

Patrick kissed him quickly and hopped up. “Okay.”

Aiden lay there a moment longer, wondering if it was really possible Steven might join them in this bed again tonight. Deep down, he hoped so.

  ****

Patrick sipped his coffee and watched Aiden and Steven enjoying themselves. Steven was playing a game called Eternal Darkness, and Aiden was trying to help him find something.

“Go back and turn that crank by the globe. I know I figured this out before.”

Steven’s character had been in the same room for a long time, and it seemed they were trying to get something to open. Patrick had watched Aiden play the game many times, muttering to himself in frustration most of the time. They’d taken their time over dinner and dessert, talking and laughing together. Steven had blushed several times under Patrick’s gaze, and Patrick believed they had to make some kind of move tonight.

Patrick admired the handsome men sitting on the floor, but he also took note of how they interacted. Yes, Aiden should make the first move. The two were truly forming a friendship, and Steven had already given Aiden a few shy smiles as they played. They eventually unlocked a panel or passage of some kind. Patrick’s seat allowed him a direct view of the players but only an angled view of the television. Next, Steven’s character moved through dark hallways and up and down staircases. Patrick started paying more attention when Steven rubbed his eyes. The controller was passed to Aiden.

“I think I’m out for now. You can keep going,” Steven said, reclining on the floor.

Aiden glanced at Patrick, hitting a button on the controller. “I’ll save it.” He set the controller aside and stretched out on his side next to Steven.

To Patrick’s delight, Steven reached up to touch Aiden’s chest. Aiden took Steven’s hand and kissed it.

“I should go. I have work early. I’ll have lots of email to check, even just from missing one day.” Steven sighed.

Patrick cursed in his head, willing Aiden to do something.

Aiden leaned down and kissed Steven’s cheek. “Can we see you tomorrow night?”

Steven licked his lips. “Sure. You want to come to my place?”

Patrick nodded at Aiden when his eyes flicked up. He always preferred to be on his own territory, but turning down the invitation would be rude, plus they couldn’t let any opportunity slip away.

“Yes, we’d love to.” Aiden traced Steven’s jaw.

Though he was moving slowly, Aiden was doing well; Patrick could see that. Patrick made himself stay seated. He could see Steven responding. The man’s breathing increased, and his cock stirred in his jeans. Patrick, of course, would already have that cock in his hand, but Aiden just gazed down at Steven, perhaps not even noticing Steven’s erection. They were beautiful, the sweetness in their natures shining through.

The two men moved together slowly and kissed. The embrace was gentle, and Steve
n sighed beneath Aiden. Patrick grew hard watching their lips and tongues play. Steven turned his head as Aiden kissed his neck, and his gaze met Patrick’s.

“Patrick?” Steven asked. “Are you just going to watch?”

Patrick considered this. Slowly, he nodded. “Yes. You’re special, Steven. I’m enjoying this. You’re both beautiful.”

Steven’s eyes fixed on Patrick’s cock bulging in his pants. “Last night was fun. It didn’t scare me.”

Patrick smiled. “I know. There’s plenty of time to explore, baby.” He hoped Aiden would appreciate how he was holding back.

Steven’s face went red, but he smiled.

Patrick whispered, “You like that? When I call you ‘baby’?”

“He does,” Aiden said, “because it’s what you call me.”

Steven looked up at Aiden. “Yes, that’s right. It makes me feel like I am special.” The two men kissed more passionately.

  ****

Steven held Aiden to him as they kissed. He wanted Aiden to take him, and he wanted to touch Patrick, too. He imagined sucking Patrick as Aiden fucked him, and he groaned. “More, Aiden,” Steven said.

  “How much more?” Aiden asked.

  “Fuck me,” Steven said.

“Not yet. Just let me please you.”

Patrick made a noise almost like a growl, and Steven looked at him. Patrick was rubbing his cock and glaring at Aiden. The glare aroused and frightened Steven, and he just stared.

“I think Patrick wants more,” Steven whispered.

“Damn right,” Patrick said. “Want to claim you both, and it’s damn hard to just sit here and watch.” He eased out of the chair and actually came over to them on his hands and knees. He spoke to Aiden. “He wants us, Aiden.”
