Brass: Ruthless Bastards (RBMC Book 6) Page 14

by Chelsea Handcock

“Babe, it’s my job, you and Maddie are my life. If anything had happened to her today…”

“It didn’t, Brass, and right now, I’m putting that in a win column for us. Today, the Vultures didn’t win. Maddie is safe out in the family room with Jinx, and I’m safe right here in your arms. All we can do is be more vigilant and watch her closer.”

“Yeah about that, we’re going to be having some company soon who can help us out.”

  “What? Who?”

“Tess and Creed are moving in. Their house has been made, it isn’t safe for them to stay there anymore. We think if they can’t get their hands on Maddie, they’ll try for Tess next. They need leverage on Tuck and those two are the only ones that can provide it.”

  “Shit!”

“Yeah, shit is right, but one good thing is coming out of this cluster fuck.”

Jada couldn’t think of anything good right about now. It would be nice to have Tess and Creed here all the time, but the house, although good sized would still be a tight fit with four adults, the two brothers hanging at the door and on the property, and Maddie.

  “Yeah, what’s that?”

“You in my bed every night, cuz, babe, I gave up your room, so it’s either me or the floor.”

  “Or the couch,” Jada laughed.

“Nope, gave that up to Jinx, so you're stuck with me.” Brass pushed himself up on his side, pushing Jada off his chest and onto the bed, so he could look down at her. She’d been tired before but seeing the promise in his eyes woke her and her body up.

Popped up on his elbow, bringing his arm and chest down over her, Brass caged her in, staring down at her. His nearness caused her nipples to pucker and her panties to moisten, making her squirm. Brass leaned his head down a couple of inches more, and Jada met him halfway, kissing him with everything she had in her. It wasn’t like the first time or even the multiple times after that, but it was explosive.

He had a way of kissing her that left her deaf, blind, and dumb, all at once. When he pinched her nipples through her thin t-shirt and bra, she arched into his touch—ready, willing, and able. Everything except her and Brass faded into the background. All the worries and questions were gone. The only thing that mattered was the next moment with this man. Wanting to give him something in return, Jada used her foot to push up off the bed until she was on top, straddling his hips between her legs. Feeling a little bold, she lifted her t-shirt from her body and over her head, throwing it somewhere behind her. Brass curled up, taking her bare breast into his mouth and started to suck hard. It felt so damn good. Running her fingers through his hair, she pulled him closer. But no matter how good it felt, she had other plans for tonight.

She yanked at his shirt with the other hand until Brass finally relented and removed the offending material from his body, leaving the expanse of his beautiful chest for her perusal and touch. One thing she had been dying to do from the start was trace the deep grooves of his six pack and chest with her tongue, and Jada wasn’t willing to deny herself any longer. Bending forward, she made sure to swivel her hips just enough to let him know he would be feeling very good, very soon. Tracing her tongue around his flat nipple, Jada sucked hard, just like he had, alternating nips and grazes with her teeth until it was tightly puckered. Then she moved on to his other nipple, giving it the same treatment. When she was satisfied with that, she moved down his torso until she reached his navel, circling it with several swipes of her tongue. Bringing her hands up, she undid his pants, feeling the hot molten skin of his impressive cock brush lightly against her hand.

Jada heard the thump of Brass’ boots as they hit the floor. Knowing he had kicked them off gave her a slight thrill, making her smile. He was getting ready to fuck her but that would have to wait for a while. Taking his cock into her hand, she held it away from his body. Starting at the base of his cock, Jada used her tongue to lick a long line up the underside, all the way to the notch in his crown. The hiss that came out of Brass’ mouth was music to her ears. The power of having a man as strong as Brass turn to putty in her hands with one swipe of her tongue was empowering and exhilarating. Swirling her tongue around the head, she slightly sucked until Brass pumped his hips forward.

“Damn, babe, suck me harder, it feels so good,” Brass moaned softly.

She hadn’t needed the words, but she complied just the same. Opening her mouth wider, she sank down onto him as far as she could go, gripping the rest of his shaft she could take into her tight fist, pumping slightly.

“Fuck me,” Brass yelled, one hand coming into her hair, fisting it tightly, guiding her head down a little further. At first, Jada was going to protest, wanting to give this to him her way, but his dominance made her hotter, wetter, and bolder. She wanted to make him crazy like he had done to her so many times. She started sucking him, interchanging the pressure from her hand and her suction. Using the flat of her tongue, she pressed firmly against a thick vein, working it. Jada forced throat and body to relax as he thrust harder and pushed her head down faster, taking him as deeply as she could.

“Fuck, babe, that’s it, suck my cock.” Two seconds later he was yelling, “I’m going to cum, pull off,” but Jada wasn’t having any of that, she wanted to swallow down everything he had to offer. On the upward stroke, she swirled her tongue around his head again, then plunged down before he had a chance to guide her, taking him to the back of her throat and swallowing hard. That was all it took for him to blow, her mouth filling with his warm, salty taste. Jada lightly kissed his groin, going back up his body, doing the same to his stomach and chest. When she got to his face, his eyes were dazed and a satisfied smile graced his lips. She kissed him lightly, waking him a bit.

“Shit, babe, as soon as I can feel my body again, I’m going to return the favor.”

Jada laughed because right after he said it, his eyes shut again, and it was a couple of hours later when he finally returned the favor with Jada screaming his name at the top of her lungs.

  Chapter Twenty-One

A couple of weeks later, they were still trying to find their new normal. Creed, Tessa, and Jinx had moved in. Jinx stayed most nights, but during the day, he was out doing whatever he and the guys did. Jada had noticed a huge change in the man. He would still play with Maddie and talk with Jada, but there was a distance there she hadn’t felt before.

Tessa had put in for leave at the hospital and gotten it, so most days, it was just the two of them with Maddie. They tried to make it fun—baking, having school lessons, and playing—but Jada still felt a little sorry for her niece. She needed to be around kids her own age, but with the threat still out there, it wasn’t possible right now.

“You ready for today?” Tessa asked, bringing Jada out of her thoughts.

The truth was she wasn’t ready for today, she hadn’t wanted to hope this could really happen. In a little over an hour, she, Brass, and Maddie were going to meet with a doctor in Franklin who specialized in genetic disorders, specifically HIDS. He was running a trial on treatment and medication that sounded like an answer to their prayers. Maddie would always suffer from the disease, there was no cure, and as she got older, the symptoms could lessen, but this time in her life was critical.

The Doc, Tessa, and Talon had made it so Maddie’s name wouldn’t be in any of the files. She couldn’t be tracked by the disease, she would only be known as a number. Doc had done all the preliminary tests, making sure that Maddie qualified for the trial, and today, they were going to find out if she had been accepted.

Jada had wanted Tessa to go with her, but Brass and Creed vetoed it, almost instantly. Tessa was pregnant, and with the threat out there still from the Vultures, no one wanted to risk taking her and Maddie being somewhere at the same time. As it was, they were going in disguise. Jada had braided Maddie’s hair tightly and put a big knit cap on her head. They had dressed her in jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers, making her look like a little boy. Well, until you got a look at her soft features, but from the distan
ce, they all thought it would work.

Jada had even made a couple of changes herself—her brown hair was now auburn and cut a little shorter. She was wearing a “Mom” dress, complete with tiny flowers and flats and wasn’t wearing any makeup. The weight she had put on the last few months helped with her disguise too. Brass liked the change in color, but not the cutting, telling her she was growing that shit back soon. When she mentioned the size of her ass, he smiled and said that was staying too. He even showed her why, fucking her from behind in the garage.

Speaking of the devil, he walked out of the bedroom into the family room, and Jada was stunned speechless. When he held his hands out and said, “Well,” everyone just looked at him.

“Babe,” Jada started, “what are you wearing and where did you get it?”

“What do you mean where did I get it? The fucking store. What’s wrong with it?”

  Jada laughed, “ah, nothing?”

“Fuck, I don’t have anything else. Isn’t this what normal dad’s wear?”

“Um,” Tessa smiled, “I don’t know if that would really be considered normal unless you’re—” Tessa didn’t get a chance to finish her sentence because Jinx came into the room and started laughing so hard, he had to bend at the waist to catch his breath.

“Dude! You're going to a fucking doctor’s office, not the next gay pride parade.”

“Fuck you, it isn’t that bad. The sales lady said they sell a lot of this shit.”

Brass was wearing pleated, khaki pants, pulled up high with a white and pastel plaid belt, pale pink button-down shirt, and a white sweater wrapped around his shoulders. His normally wavy hair was greased back and parted to the side, and he even was wearing glasses with clear lenses. But the kicker was the white docker shoes with no socks on his big ass feet.

“Umm, maybe just tone it down a little, babe. Some jeans and tennis shoes.” Tessa was nodding her head vigorously, “and maybe wash that stuff out of your hair and lose the glasses and sweater, it's hot out today.”

Maddie walked up to Brass and held out her hands for him to pick her up and just like every other time, he did. When she patted his face and said, “I think you look pretty, Uncle Brass, just like Pinkie Pie in my show,” Brass groaned and put Maddie down, grumbling as he walked back out of the room. The rest of them started laughing, just as hard as Jinx.

“Fuck, one of you had better taken a picture of that shit,” Jinx said still laughing. Jada hadn’t even thought of it, but the wicked grin on Tessa's face said the other woman had, and she was currently texting away on her phone. It would be a long time before her man lived this one down. When he came back out a few minutes later in jeans and tennis shoes but still wearing the pink shirt, Jada smiled, knowing he had done that for Maddie.

It didn’t take them long to load up into the silver minivan someone had delivered earlier that day, and off they went toward Franklin and the medical center. Jada was a bundle of nerves, but Brass held her hand and talked with Maddie, keeping her as calm as possible.

When they got to the Medical campus, they all got out and made their way inside. It was an hour before the doctor was able to see them. He told them Maddie had qualified and would be accepted into the trial, but they needed to do a couple of tests. Jada had peppered the doctor with the list of questions she and Tessa had come up with and was satisfied with his answers. So, for the next few hours, they waited around for that to happen and by the time the three of them made it back outside, they were all starving and a little grumpy, but with a good dose of happy mixed in.

They decided to go simple with a fast food dinner and get back out on the road. Maddie had fallen asleep almost immediately, and Jada was watching out the window, watching the buildings go by, Brass holding her hand like before when several motorcycles passed them. Jada stiffened, and Brass released her hand, putting both hands back on the steering wheel.

“I see them.” It was an intense couple of minutes until they were stopped at a red light. Jada watched as a couple of the bikes splintered off and went through a large garage door off the side of one building. The light seemed really long, but it gave her time to just look around. It was at least fifteen stories high, all brick. When they turned the corner, Jada saw the front door with a name above it. Something bothered her about that name.

“Brass, can you pull over?” Jada asked.

“Babe, I don’t think that’s the best idea, right now, I think we need to get past this place.”

“Brass, I mean it. Pull over, I need to see something.”

“Jada, have you lost your damn mind? Did you see those cuts? We’re not going to follow a bunch of Vultures into their own territory, unarmed with Maddie in the car.”

“I don’t want you to follow them, I just want you to pull over. I need to see that sign,” Jada said pointing at the door with the sign above. It wasn’t actually a sign but a nameplate of some kind, made out of concrete over the door jamb. “I think I know it. It's important, please,” Jada pleaded.

“Fuck! Hold on.” Brass went down and around the block. Coming back around, Jada watched the building, never taking her eyes off it, looking for something else to trip her mind. Brass found a spot almost directly across from the sign she had shown him, but it wasn’t close enough. Jada unbuckled her seat belt and opened the door, but before she could get out Brass grabbed her arm, stopping her.

  “Are you fucking nuts?”

“No, damn it, just give me a second. I just need to go across the street, so I can read it.”

“Screw that, get your ass back in that seat.”

Jada didn’t bother arguing, she knew that look on Brass’ face, and he wasn’t going to take no for an answer. He pulled back out in traffic, turned around and came back the other way slowing down as they passed the door, Jada rolled down her window to get a better look and there it was, Vernor est in 1958.

Jada rolled the window back up and searched her memory. She was so sure what she was thinking was right, she yelled at Brass to pull over again, only this time he just kept on driving. She slapped his arm

“Listen,” Jada said, “you need to go back there.”

“No! Tell me what’s got you so worked up about that building, then I’ll decide if we stop or if I speed our asses through this city until we hit the Defiance line.”

“Fine!” Jada said through gritted teeth. “When Maddie and I were in that warehouse office bathroom, the guy who took us in there was on the phone, talking to someone, yelling, asking why they weren’t there yet, but that wasn’t all he said. Most of it I didn’t understand, and it wasn’t until I saw that sign that I thought of it, but he said, Vernor, yeah, I know where that is. Is that where you want the package? then, It will make him sing. I didn’t get it, even forgot about it until now. Don’t you see?”

“What? I’m not getting where you’re going with this.”

“Brass, Maddie was the package. Do you think the him they wanted to make sing was Tuck? He could be in that building right now!”

“Jesus!” Jada felt the van accelerate.

“We need to go back,” she yelled. “What if he’s in there and we could help him?”

“Babe, we aren’t going to do shit. I’m going to call the Club and get them working on it. Get you and Maddie back to the house, and the boys and I will take care of it while you guys are safe. Understand?”

  “But, Brass what if—”

“No what-ifs, that’s what’s going to happen, first you and Maddie safe, then we’ll deal with it. Now, let's get the fuck out of here.”

  Chapter Twenty-Two

  Two Years Later

Jada was standing on the staircase landing in the clubhouse, waiting for Jinx to come and get her. For the past two years, she and Brass had lived a crazy, happy life, ups and downs with so many twists and turns thrown in, some days, she didn’t know if she was coming or going. But one thing stayed constant—Brass. She hadn’t lied to Suzie all those years ago when she said the woman he chose wou
ld be placed on a pedestal and want for nothing. That was the life she lived with her badass, sarcastic as hell, sweet, and loving biker.

Over a year ago he had asked her to be his Old Lady, to ride at his back and stand by his side, and she readily agreed and wore his property patch proudly. A lot of other changes had happened too. Maddie and Tessa were safe for the time being, but others were not. Maddie got to go to school and was making real friends. The trial she had been a part of seemed to have been successful with bouts of her illness coming less and less, something Jada would always be grateful for. And she was making friends like a normal seven-year-old. Jada and Brass had even hosted a sleepover for a group of seven little girls just the other night.

Another change was when she and Tessa decided to go into business for themselves, customizing and designing biker baby wear, and the online business was exploding. Brass had told her she didn’t need to work, but without Maddie there with her all the time, she was bored. Brass had his work and the Club, and Jada needed something to make herself feel a little more useful. Addy, Carri, and Tessa all had cute little babies who were their models, and it was fun.

But today was going to be the biggest change of all. Yesterday, when they went to the doctor’s office, she and Brass found out they were pregnant and having twins. They hadn’t been trying, but they also hadn’t been doing anything to prevent it, and since they fucked like bunnies on a good day, it was bound to happen sooner, rather than later.

They hadn’t even made a single step out of the medical office when Brass announced they were getting married and his kids were going to have his name. It wasn’t the prettiest proposal but so typical Brass. He had made a decision and expected everyone, including her, to get in line and deal with it. That didn’t mean she let him get away with it though. He had definitely ended up on his knees that night, in the best of ways, asking her again to be his wife.
