  A Note from S. J. Pajonas

One of the things I love the most about being an independent author is bringing stories directly to my readers. I only need to dream up my story, write it, edit and proofread it (with outside help), then deliver it to you. How cool is that? It’s the wave of the future! Back when I was reading my favorite authors ten years ago, I often thought about how their early careers and the struggles they went through to get the stories they wrote into my hands. I’ve had friends in publishing for over ten years and hearing what happens behind the scenes always made my head spin. The world has changed for the better.

An author like me would never have found her audience ten years ago. As you can see from my books, I write simple, easy prose. A recent review even called into question whether I was writing for fourth graders or not! (Laughs.) Yes, it’s true. I do boil down my work into clean and precise sentences. I write like I talk because I want to talk to you. That’s the most important thing for me to remember every time I sit down to get something done. You and me, we’re here because we want to be, and that’s something to be thankful for.

This little side story came at a time when I needed to learn a little more about Mei, Yasahiro, and their motives for going into the rest of the series. It also solidified how I feel about my writing career. How it’s important for me to have fun and enjoy this ride. I should live in the moment, revel in the details and synergy of moments that come together when I least expect it. Writing is magical! And having fun writing is what I want to do in 2017. Like Mei and Yasahiro who have realized family will play an important role in their lives, I have also realized that writing will be an important part of my life from here forward. It’s no longer just a dream. It’s reality.

Thanks for reading and living my dream with me!

I look forward to bringing you more stories in the future.

  xo, S. J.

  About the Author

Stephanie (S. J.) is a writer, knitter, amateur astrologer, Capricorn, and Japanophile. She loves foxes, owls, sushi, yoga pants, Evernote, and black tea. When she’s not writing, she’s thinking about writing or spending time outside, unless it’s winter. She hates winter. Someday she’ll own a house in both hemispheres so she can avoid the season entirely. She’s a mom to two great kids and lives with her husband and family outside NYC. They have no pets. Yet. When it comes to her work, expect the unexpected. She doesn’t write anything typical.
