Psyche Honor (Psyche Moon) Page 9

by Buhr, Chrissie

The nudity is going to take some getting used to.

She chuckled silently. Turning my head towards my girlfriend, I found her deliciously naked by a tree, tucking her clothes out of direct sight.

“Ever come back and find your clothes gone?” I wondered.

“Several times.” She laughed. “Usually it's a packmate playing a practical joke.”

  “What do you do?”

“Steal someone else's. Last Wolf back hikes out naked. All of us keep clothing in our cars.” Her clothes tucked away, she walked towards me and ran a hand through my hair. “I'm sure we can find a few minutes to be alone,” she whispered in my ear, loud enough for the others to hear.

“I'm not much of an exhibitionist,” I warned her. My hand stretched towards her hip, and I resisted the strong impulse to cup her ass.

“Neither am I. They'll give us a little privacy when we want it.”

Being this open about our sex life is also going to take some getting used to.

Practice makes perfect. She replied and kissed me deeply, one hand in my hair and the other wrapped around my waist. I was acutely aware of the others. None watched blatantly, but all took pleasure in our intimacy.

  They're listening, I complained.

They appreciate that we have something beautiful and are happy we've found our mates. To them this is no different than if I were fully clothed.

I laughed out loud at that. “It's very different for me.”

“If I fucked you in front of them, you'd see the difference.” Again she whispered. Jazz and Amy giggled. Kathryn of course maintained composure. Her point was made by John, who turned beet red with embarrassment. Billie was like a sister to him, and the idea of watching her have sex mortified him.

I could feel my own face burn red. Okay, I got your point. You can stop now!

She smiled and kissed my lips gently. As she drew away from me, she shifted. Blue wolf eyes shined at me, and she smiled a toothy grin. The others shifted in turn, and I looked on their wolf forms for the first time.

Kathryn stood small and lean, her coat almost completely black with grey highlights in her muzzle and feet. Jazz, slightly taller than Kathryn and gangly, had a coat of various shades of grey. John shared similar markings with Billie but with more brown. He stood an inch taller and twenty pounds heavier than the women. Amy's form surprised me. Shorter and more compact than the others, her fur was so white it looked blue as it reflected the light. She lowered her head and lolled her tongue at me.

“My God, Amy. You're beautiful.” She shook her head and blinked a thank you. “Why are you different from the others?” Again she blinked. “I'll ask later.”

Billie answered my question. Amy's an arctic wolf. Most of us are the grey wolves found in this area.

Why one type of wolf versus another?

Our human heritage determines the kind of wolf we become. Ask Jazz if you're interested. She understands it better than I do. You may need a dictionary, though.

I needed one earlier. I'll bring one.

The Wolves danced around me, and I ran my hands through their coarse fur. Amy grabbed my hand in her mouth, tugging me to follow. Billie raised her nose to the air and leapt forward into the trees. I hiked as they played and hunted, always circling back around to me and including me in the run. It was surreal, playing and hunting with a pack of wolves. Someone howled, and every ear came to attention.

John scented a deer. We'll be back shortly. Billie explained as the pack raced in his direction. Experience the hunt with me, love! And so I merged into her awareness, sitting where I stopped so that I could experience it in full. Through Billie I understood every whine and howl as they communicated. Scents filled my perception with kaleidoscopic vividness. Trees and brush rushed past my vision as we chased a single musky scent.

We spied movement in the brush ahead and knew we gained on the deer. Fur flashed and hooves thumped as they beat the earth. The pack grew closer to its prey. Our first full view of the deer took my breath away. She ran as fast as she could, and we ran faster. She's old and she's tiring. We'll eat well this hunt, Billie pronounced with a deep howl.

We neared her. Exhaustion weighed on her limbs, and her eyes rolled wild with fear. The pack surrounded her, nipping at her legs and testing for weaknesses. John leapt and grabbed a hind leg in his strong jaws, jerking his head to bring her off balance. She stumbled, and he lost his grip. With renewed fervency, she sprang forward. Amy grasped a foreleg, and she stumbled again. This time she dropped to her knees.

John took her by the side of the neck, jerking once again. We scented delicious blood, and it smelled like food and life. We leapt in and grasped her neck, mirroring John's movements. The deer fell, her life nearly complete. John took her by the throat and finished it swiftly. The Wolves danced around our prey, sniffing excitedly, before digging into the meal. Billie sat for a moment with the pack and did not eat. She looked pointedly in my direction, and they understood. They’d enjoy the meal without her.

As she raced towards me, I returned fully back to myself. The hard ground beneath my rear end helped me orient myself after the intense experience. The musky smell of the deer faded from my nose, and I listened to birds through my own ears. Billie howled, and it filled the air with joy.

I sensed Billie's approach before I heard her. By the time I saw her, she had me pinned to the ground with her paws on my shoulders. I laughed at her playful expression, her face less than an inch from mine. She sniffed my neck, tickling the sensitive skin. Opening her jowls, she gently placed her teeth around my throat, her enormous jaws completely encircling my neck.

Is that some kind of hug? I quivered a little despite myself.

  Yes, she replied simply.

If anyone else did that, I'd be terrified, I admitted.

That's why it's done, to show trust. She pulled away and stood over me, a ripple preceding her human form by only a second. She hovered over me on hands and knees, excitingly naked.

“What happens when you’re between wolf and human? Has anyone ever caught it on film and slowed it down to watch?” I asked in curiosity.

She grimaced. “Yes. It wasn't pretty. The horror movies got that part right.”

“I'll skip the show. I like how magical it appears.”

She found a comfortable position half on me and propped up by one arm. Her bare breasts pressed against my chest, and she ran her fingers up and down my face and neck with her free hand, avoiding the injured side. “How did you like the hunt?”

My eyes widened, and I touched her cheek as I remembered. “That was by far the most incredible experience of my life. I don't think I could find the words to give justice to what that felt like.”

Her smile lit up her entire face. “I'm so glad you were able to experience it.”

“How much time before the others come back?” I asked eagerly, drawing a circle around one nipple.

“There’s plenty of time to get you naked, sweaty, and moaning before they satisfy their appetite.” Her breath tickled my neck as she whispered the words, and the floodgates opened. “Gods, you're sexy,” she moaned as she slipped her hands under my shirt, lifting my body easily as she pulled it over my head.

Breasts bare for her enjoyment, I ran a hand down the length of her body and back up, enjoying the double sensation of her arousal and mine. She nibbled her way down, starting at my throat and pausing at my naval while she unbuttoned the blue jeans in her way. She kissed me where the fly parted, sliding my panties to reach the skin beneath.

My clothes slid off easily, as they always did when she wanted them gone. Invigorated by the hunt, she buried her attentions between my legs. Her hands reached under my thighs, caressing me vigorously as she nibbled around the borders of my pubic hair. Her soft lips on me and teeth grazing my skin delicately sent an electric current through my entire body.

I gasped, wrapping my legs around her neck and pressing into her invitingly.

Enough foreplay? She pressed strong fingers into
my ass and pulled me closer.

God, yes. Fuck me already! I fed off of her eagerness and clenched my fists into the ground as she buried her tongue in me. My clit burned with her touch, and she spread my cheeks until I could feel it in my toes. Her tongue flicked, and I moaned, heedless of who might hear. Suddenly one of her fingers entered me too, rubbing my labia roughly.

You’re so wet. You smell delicious. She rumbled through our connection. I couldn’t reach her, so I touched my own breasts, rubbing my hard nipples roughly between my fingertips. She pulled the finger out of me and I cried out in protest before she shifted and entered me again, deeper and rougher. No longer caressing my labia, she plunged two fingers in and out mercilessly.

I squeezed my own breast hard as I orgasmed, my legs clenching her into me fervently. Spurred on further, she penetrated me deeper and grazed my clit with her teeth. More! Harder! I cried into her mind, and she complied instantly. With Wolf strength, she lifted me until only my shoulders still lay on the ground. She continued, and the second orgasm began before the first ended. My entire body throbbed with ripples of burning ecstasy, and my feet ached. Distantly I heard myself cry her name.

She pulled out of me, allowing my climax to ebb. As my legs relaxed around her neck, she lowered me to the ground. My feet sank to the forest floor, and I opened my eyes not realizing I’d closed them. Billie, green eyes intense and face flushed, watched me from between my knees. You scared the birds again. She grinned wickedly.

That was so fucking good I think I pulled something. I gasped for air.

I would have kept going, but you weren’t breathing, she joked and crawled to lie on top of me, chin once again propped in a hand and penetrating eyes on mine. Her breasts pressed against mine, and I shuddered again. Too spent yet to do anything, my arms rested on the ground beside me.

It doesn’t get better than this. I finally recovered enough to wrap my arms around her waist, caressing her muscled back.

It gets better every time. Her gaze didn’t leave my eyes, and I melted. I ran one hand through her tangled red curls and brushed her cheek with my thumb.

How did I get so lucky? I asked her. Fisting her hair at the base of her skull, I pulled her mouth towards mine and kissed her roughly.

Want to get lucky again? She asked roguishly, and I laughed. Her eyes softened as our lips parted. You taste like home.

I feel like I’m home. For the first time in my life, I feel like I’m home. We lay in each other’s arms, enjoying the afternoon silently.

Sensing the pack’s return, I groaned. “They're on their way back,” I announced, feeling a little self-conscious about the inevitable smell on us. “It would be nice to wash up.”

She chuckled. “It's a normal scent for us. It's not like we're being sneaky anyway.”

I sighed and wrinkled my nose. “I'm still having trouble with the smelling thing.” I grabbed my clothes and started to dress.

Billie watched me from the ground, unconcerned about her own nudity. “I hear them,” she mentioned. I zipped up my jeans shortly before the Wolves trotted into view.

Jazz rippled into her human form, her body nearly as exquisite as Billie’s. She smiled widely, eyes shining. “That was the best hunt I've had in a while.” She sank to the ground beside Billie, scooting onto her back and laying her head in Billie's lap. Amy trotted over, white fur in stark contrast to the summer landscape. She curled beside her friends contentedly, her tail wrapped around her.

Doggie pile time, love. Come join us. I did, resting my head on Billie's shoulder with a hand rubbing the spot between Amy's ears. She arched her head towards me in enjoyment. In no time, Kathryn and John joined us, and we lounged peacefully. Jazz and Billie recounted the hunt, enjoying the memory. John, satisfied in wolf form for a while, wanted to say something, so he shifted to human form.

“I hate to break up the party, but those two Humans are headed our way. Less than a mile out, I would guess,” I sighed.

“Time to head home.” Billie began to untangle herself from the pile of bodies.

“I like the early warning system,” Jazz remarked appreciatively.

Billie shifted into wolf form, as we headed leisurely towards our stash of clothes. Jazz walked with me in human form. Her curiosity about me had risen since we met. “They tell me you were raised as a Human,” she commented as we walked. “Do you know anything about your biological parents?”

“All I know is that my mother abandoned me the day I was born. She walked up to some woman in a parking lot and handed over her baby. She didn't say a word and took off. The police looked for her but never found her, and social services found me a home. They never even figured out who my parents were, so my new parents adopted me.” The story of my abandonment had always disturbed me.

Jazz considered the situation objectively. Intelligent and pragmatic, she didn’t respond with shock or anger like most mothers. “That is very strange. I've never heard of a Mage child being raised by humans. I wonder why she did that.”

I shook my head. I’d wondered the same thing many times. As a child I believed there was something wrong with me. As I came to understand human behavior better, I’d begun to speculate. “The only thing that makes sense to me is that she believed I was in danger. Mothers don't do that kind of thing otherwise.”

She nodded. “True. Why would you be in danger, though?”

“Maybe someone was after her. My biological father? A Wolf? Another Mage? I don't know.”

“You wonder if a Wolf killed your mother?” she asked, a little surprised.

I looked at the Wolves trotting around me, listening to us speak. “I've heard the stories. It sounds like most packs have a standing order to kill any Mage in their territory. Perhaps she was afraid they would kill her baby too.” I shrugged. “It's one possibility among dozens.”

“Doesn't that idea bother you now that you live with Wolves?”

I paused, considering how to answer her question. “If your pack encountered a Mage with a baby, what do you think would happen to the baby?” Every pair of ears listened with rapt attention.

She thought about my question intelligently and answered honestly. “I believe a few people would want to kill the baby, but they would be in the minority. Not many people could actually do something like that. I don't think anyone here could. It would cause a great deal of commotion and debate, but I think most packs would find an alternative.”

I nodded affirmatively. “I agree. But maybe she didn’t know that. If that's even what happened.”

“This has to be very strange for you. You don't even know your people, and you're sleeping with the enemy. Literally and figuratively.”

I grinned and glanced sideways at her. “Strange would be an understatement. I feel like I've stepped into someone else's war, and yet I'm somehow the focus.”

“I'm not surprised you feel that way. You have and you are.”

“I don't know Mages, but I do know prejudice. You can't judge an entire group of people for any reason. I don't believe that all Mages are bad any more than I believe all gay men are fashion designers.”

She didn't speak for a few minutes, considering my argument logically before replying. “Devil's advocate,” she announced when ready. “What you said about prejudice is true. To judge an entire group for any reason is bigotry. But from what I’ve heard described, the power is addictive. Doesn't that change the dynamics? I wouldn't trust a meth addict.”

“I wouldn't trust a meth addict who's using,” I replied. “A meth addict who chooses not to use meth is a whole different story.”

“They're more likely to use meth than the next person.” She didn’t argue, I realized. She evaluated her opinion through debate.

“True. It doesn't mean they will. Then it’s judging someone for what they might do in the future.” She nodded and her eyes shone as her opinion formed. She craved intellectual and philosophical debate. My voice lowered automatically, and I looked apologetically at her. “W
ill I use magepower again? Only if I have to. Will I give into the seduction if I do? God I hope not. The possibility scares me. I wouldn't be scared if I was certain I could control it.”

“I like your honesty. I'll be honest in turn. I've lost friends to Mages, and I've seen horrible things at their hands. Having a Mage in our pack and mated to our Beta worries me. But I like you. I'll try to treat you for you and not for them.”

“Thanks.” I looked around. “I'll be honest. I'm lost.”

She giggled. “It's not far. See that lighter colored stand of trees?” She pointed off to our left. “That's where we left our clothes. We'll head down this ridge a ways and then cross in that direction.”

“Oh. Then we have a problem.” Billie's ears perked my direction.

  “What's the problem?”

“The Humans are headed the same direction we are.”

We shouldn't be seen as wolves, Billie told me.

“I think you'd stand out less in fur than naked, love.” Jazz followed the gist of the conversation.

I don't like leaving you alone, but we'll have to hide from them. Especially now. Wolf season begins soon, and people talk.

“You're just a thought away. I'll be fine.” She argued with herself so I probed the Humans a bit. “They're just hikers, and they're friendly.”

She agreed reluctantly and looked squarely at Jazz who understood. “We'll talk more later.” She shifted into her wolf form quickly.

We hiked in silence for a bit before the Wolves suddenly darted into the forest, scenting the nearby Humans. We won't be far, love. She showed me the route I should take. Call if you need me.

After the constant company, I found the sudden solitude strange. Heading down the route she showed me, I kept my senses open. Before long I heard footsteps and soft voices. Continuing along the ridge, they came into view.

“Hi. Are you lost?” The woman asked when she saw me.

  “Nope. Just hiking.”

“You really shouldn't hike alone. You could fall or come across a dangerous animal.” The man expressed his concern.

I shrugged. “I'm fine, and it's a beautiful day.” They didn't like the idea of leaving me all alone, and they exchanged a meaningful look. “Really, I'm fine. I'm headed back to my car now anyway.”
