“You’ve been a very bad girl,” I growl softly. “A very, very bad girl.”

As Karlo lectures me gently, I hear the depth of his affection in his voice. He is not the same man who first captured me. Or perhaps he is. Maybe I could never see it or feel it before. I was so angry back then. I was filled with rage that made love utterly impossible. It took Kes to break me of my anger.
The moment I held my boy, half human and half Rathkari, I knew I couldn’t hate the Rathkari anymore. To do that would be to hate my own son, and to hate a part of myself. Karlo is in me. I am in him. We are joined.
I have missed him with every part of me. Nothing has been the same since I boarded that shuttle and threw myself across the stars. I have been missing something I didn’t know I had. Karlo is not just a dominating commanding Rathkari male. He is the first and only man to ever look after me. I could not appreciate him in those early days. The tender care he showed me when I was sick was nothing to me.
We were torn apart by what we imagined the other was, and in our separation we finally saw what we truly were. Three years of regret are ending, and I could cry with joy as his ropes caress and cradle me, my sex riding against the ridges of the rubberized material while he spanks me, his palm biting my skin with swift slaps that do not hurt. I’m worried that Karlo will be impatient, or refuse to let me go. “Go to him,” he says with a light slap to my bottom. “I can wait. We have forever.”
Forever. Happy tears fill my eyes as I hurry to settle Kes. We have forever.
