When Wolves Love Page 3

“Fuc-” Adam cursed, when he felt Noah’s mouth cover his left nipple.

He sucked once and then twice before he swirled his tongue around the hardened mound and moved to the right one. All along, Noah had one hand digging underneath the back part of Adam’s shorts to look for his ass while the other one stroked Adam’s growing erection. The jock let out a strangled grunt. They couldn’t make too much noise. They weren’t the only ones in the house. In the moment, Adam was caught off guard when Noah flipped them over to stay on top. Straddling Adam, with both his knees on either side of Adam’s waist, Noah lowered his head and crawled backwards across the bed. He shifted his eyes upward for a quick second to meet Adam’s when his lips landed on the button of Adam’s shorts.

“Noah-” Adam groaned, when Noah rubbed his lips against his bulge.

Noah fingered the waistband of Adam’s shorts, tugged it, and then unbuttoned the material. Restless, he slid it down past Adam’s legs before he threw it on the floor to join their bundle of shirts. The smirk on Noah’s face was unbreakable when he caught sight of Adam’s tip. It was peeking through his boxers and he could see pre-cum seeping out of it. With one swift motion, Noah pulled Adam’s boxers off him to join the growing pile of clothes on the floor.

Noah drank the sight in. He’d lost count of how many times he’d seen Adam naked, but he would never ever get tired of the sight. It wasn’t his hardened muscles or abdominals that strained at every miniscule movement that made Noah fall; it was neither the strength and power his figure embodied; it wasn’t even his Adonis-like features of bright-blond hair and mysterious gray eyes; it was the fact that Adam bared everything to Noah; it was the fact that he gave himself completely. Adam loved completely. There was no way Noah wouldn’t fall with that. He loved Adam just as much he did him, and he always showed it, every time, and tonight was no exception.

“Fuck,” Adam grunted when Noah swiped the pre-cum off his tip.

Then, Noah reached for one of the side table drawers and took out a plastic container. When he poured lubricant all over his hands, it was then he wrapped his fingers around Adam’s length and started to stroke. Adam arched his back up and reached to grab a fistful of Noah’s hair. He tried to tug Noah’s head forward and closer to his groin.

“You’re so impatient,” Noah said with a chuckle, when Adam wanted him to start sucking. “I’ll get to that.”

Soon enough, Noah parted his lips open and slowly slid his mouth down along Adam’s length. When his lips touched his fingers, Noah started to move his head up and down while his fingers rubbed and stroked in opposite directions. Involuntarily, Adam let out a string of curses at the bursts of heat and pleasure he was experiencing. In his dick alone, from its head to his shaft, there were numerous pleasure points that he just couldn’t focus on one. Then, Adam felt his erection twitch from inside Noah’s mouth and he pulled out quickly. He just didn’t want right now to end.

When Adam pulled out of Noah’s mouth, Noah knew what that meant. Noah made a move to remove his jeans and then his boxers, and when he reached for the bottle of lubricant, Adam closed his fingers around his wrist. He kissed Noah hard on the lips before he pushed Noah back down on the bed. Straddling Noah, Adam lowered his head to leave a trail of kisses down the expanse of Noah’s torso. When his mouth teased the tip of Noah’s erection, Adam poured lube into his hands and around his fingers. At the gesture, Noah sat up and then bent on all fours as he positioned himself at the foot of the bed.

“I thought you didn’t like doggy style?” Adam asked when Noah’s bum grazed his erection. “It makes you feel…like a whore?”

A chuckle left Noah’s lips before he nudged Adam once more with his ass. “As long as I’m your only whore.”

“Of course,” Adam said, matching Noah’s mirth with a laugh of his own. When Adam inserted a finger inside Noah and started to push forward and back repeatedly, it wasn’t long before Noah started asking for more.

At Noah’s pleas, Adam slowly pushed his erection inside Noah as he leaned his head back and savored the moment. When the two found their rhythm, they moved as one. They might not have been looking into one another’s eyes at that moment, but they both just knew. What they had – it was love.

  Chapter 10

“Ugh-get a room!” Sophie said, a knowing look in her eyes. “You guys are making me so jealous!”

She shook her head and let out a round of laughter as she watched Adam and Noah tease one another. Adam had just lost the race since Noah was the first one to reach the peak of the mountain. Adam kept telling both Noah and Sophie that he just made his boyfriend win. How can an athlete lose against someone who doesn’t even exercise everday? was Adam’s line of reasoning, but Noah teased him and faked disbelief. Even in their wolf forms, Noah knew Adam was still faster, and he indeed made Noah win this round. Still, it was fun to ruffle Adam’s feathers from time to time.

“We can always set you up with someone we know,” Noah then said before he turned to face his boyfriend. “Right? You can have your pick, jock or musician?”

“Can I have both of you instead?” Sophie asked with a raised-up eyebrow and an ear-to-ear grin.

A few days had passed since that day Sophie wanted to run away and Adam and Noah fought and made up. Since then, the three had gotten closer, and Noah felt stupid for ever feeling jealous of Adam and Sophie’s friendship. He knew now that even if they had more things in common, that didn’t mean that they were automatically the better, more suitable, pair. Sometimes, opposites did attract one another, just as in their case.

“Sorry, Soph.” That was Noah, who ran a hand through his disheveled jet-black hair. “But I kinda don’t like sharing.”

“You remember what happened the last time he got jealous of you, right?” Adam taunted, mischief lacing his words and facial expression.

“Oh, you mean when you two had hot make-up sex?” Sophie then said. If eyes could laugh, hers would be hollering.

“Lalalalala!” Adam covered his ears with his hands before he stood up from the rock he sat on. “I don’t want to hear about this.”

“Oh, come on!” Sophie continued. She was full on guffawing now. “The whole house practically heard you two. Good thing Adam’s parents went out for a grocery run. I just turned the TV volume to its maximum,” she then teased, shrugging her shoulders.

“Like what Noah said, we can set you up.” There was no missing the mischief glazing Adam’s eyes. “So you can also have the same kind of hot make-up se-”

“Why did I even start that conversation?” Sophie interjected before Adam could continue. “Remind me never to bring up the topic of sex when it’s you two…”

“Why?” Noah asked, sitting down on the ground as he looked at the view before them.

Magnificent. They had a view of the skyline and its surrounding neighborhoods. Despite the time – closing midnight – the nightlights were unbreakable and lit up the evening glamorously in an array of blinding colors. When he looked away, he saw Sophie and Adam with the same awestruck look on their faces.

“Jealous?” asked Adam this time, who sat on a rock a couple meters away from where Noah sat on the ground.

“Very,” Sophie responded. “Very jealous. If you want to strengthen your bond, you can always have blood pact.”

At this, Adam and Noah swiveled their heads at the same time to look at Sophie. “A what?”

“A blood pact,” Sophie then said, turning her arm so the palm of her hand was facing up. “It’s how pack members can read one another’s thoughts. You drink one another’s blood, so a part of you becomes a part of another…”

“Seriously?” asked Adam, dumbfounded. “I thought that only happened in movies and books? That sounds so-…”

“Olden?” Adam nodded at Sophie’s question. “Well, the books and movies have to come from somewhere.” A pause and then, “That’s how packs are formed…so if you and Noah,” she said, looking at both men. “If you two want to start a pack or
strengthen the bond between you two, you know what to do…”

Adam and Noah looked at one another. Did they want to drink one another’s blood and read each other’s thoughts? A part of them knew the thought was exciting, but the other part was aware how dangerous that could be as well. It was a thought they needed to think long and hard about. They wouldn’t be able to give Sophie an answer tonight. Before one of them could speak, Sophie immediately stood up from the rock and looked around. She closed her eyes, focused on the shift, and when she opened them, Adam and Noah could see the all-black of her eyes. She moved her head left to right, trying to see what hid in the forest. Slowly, the hairs in her arms started to rise up as she started to smell a distinct scent. Then, a million thoughts raced through her mind – thoughts that didn’t belong to her.

Sophie almost lost her footing when a familiar figure emerged from the shadows of the night. Behind him were at half a dozen wolves, baring their canines and ready to pounce.

  “Da-Damien?”

  Chapter 11

“What is this?” Damien looked before him.

He watched as the men on either side of Sophie shifted into wolves. One had an all-black coat. Against its fur, Damien could see the its power and strength, the muscles in its four legs clenching and unclenching as its paw brushed against the dirt beneath. The other wolf – the one with the gray and white fur – wasn’t as huge as the ebony creature, but it towered over the foliage all the same. Adam and Noah. He knew who these wolves were; he could read Sophie’s thoughts. Damien also knew they wouldn’t stand a chance against his pack. The two had been raised as civilians. They wouldn’t know how to fight. They didn’t know what a shifter was truly capable of. Damien would should them tonight.

Adam let out a low growl as he watched Damien stalk forward. He couldn’t make sense of the heavy feeling in his chest. He was both excited and scared at the same time, and it was making him nervous. They had been practicing for days for this moment to come, and now that it was finally here, he was unsure whether or not he could go through with his promise to Sophie – that they would defeat Damien. When Adam shifted his head to the side, he saw that Noah had all eyes and ears on the pack of wolves before them. His light gray-and-white coat glimmered under the moon. It was a sharp contrast to his all-black covering.

“Are you going against your own pack?” Damien pressed, eyes falling on Sophie. She was still in human form as she clenched her fists at her sides. “With two mutts?”

Adam bared his fangs at the insult as he scraped his paw along the blackish dirt. If he was unsure earlier about defeating Damien, he was sure now. He promised himself he was going to do everything he could to finish him off. No one had the right to prance around as if her were king of the world.

“Let me leave,” Sophie then said. “So no blood will be shed tonight.”

Damien turned his lips upwards into an arrogant smirk. He hooked a finger under his chin as if contemplation.

“I can’t do that….” After a climatic pause, he then said, “Let there be blood.”

At that, both Sophie and Damien shifted at the same time.

Sophie had no time to look around. Damien was coming towards her and fast. His brown coat moved with the wind as he pushed himself off the ground to attack from above. Sophie bent lower, her belly scratching the ground, as she waited for Damien to land on her. At the very last second, she rolled to the side and heard a loud thump at the sound of Damien’s towering figure meeting the ground. From her peripheral, she could see Adam and Noah working together to fight off an all-white wolf. It was Lex – Damien’s Beta, or second-in-command.

Adam let out a growl when he saw that the white wolf had managed to send Noah flying across the ground. Noah’s back hit a century-old tree trunk, and Adam felt a surge of anger at the pained howl Noah elicited. Adam ran forward; he was going to kill off this white wolf.

Before he could bite his teeth into the fur of the wolf, another one knocked him on the side to push him away and block the white wolf. It took a second or two before Adam regained composure and watched as the wolf that had pushed him off course fell to the ground at Noah’s bidding. Noah had positioned himself squarely on top of the wolf and clamped his fangs into its cranium. That was enough to kill him off, and Noah wasted no time in looking for another victim.

Together. Noah howled and simply hoped Adam understood him. They might not have been able to read one another’s thoughts, but they knew one another well enough to work in tandem, and so, they closed in on the white wolf. They were going to finish him – Lex. They knew he was Damien’s second-in-command. Sophie had told them the most important members of Damien’s pack when she was training them.

“You kill Lex and you break one of Damien’s legs,” Sophie had told them a few days ago.

Adam ducked his head low as he ran towards Lex. If he could push Lex off the ground, so he could attack him while he was in the air, then they could finish him off quickly. Lex caught his plan of attack and moved to the side at the very last second. Plan B then. Adam thought, as he watched Noah enact his plan. The gray wolf rested his head underneath Lex’s belly and used all his strength and power to push Lex off the ground and up towards the midnight sky. A cacophonous howl left the all-white wolf as his legs started flying trying to look for hard ground. When he landed on his back, Adam and Noah didn’t waste time and targeted Lex’s eyes and heart. With their fangs, they ripped the wolf’s eyes and organs out until blood spilled all over and marred its immaculate white fur.

Noah knew they couldn’t breathe out a sigh of relief. Not yet. That was only the beginning, as he watched the remaining four wolves stalk towards Adam and him. From afar, he could see Sophie in battle with Damien. Four wolves – there were two of them. Their opponents had years of practice; they only had days. How the hell were they going to win this? Noah had no idea how they were going to get through this. They couldn’t use their earlier tactic of fighting in tandem. No. Their opponents knew their strategy and they were using it against them – four against two. Noah shook his head. He needed to believe he, they, could win this.

He just needed to fight until his last breath.

Sophie ran away from Damien when she heard the strangled cries of Adam and Noah. They had been beaten up badly by Damien’s followers, her old pack. She ran to the two wolves that lay injured on the ground and positioned herself in front of them, so the three wolves wouldn’t come anywhere near them. They had killed three wolves all on their own. She couldn’t be any more proud of them, and they had already done much more than they should have. She wouldn’t let them fight anymore. How she was going to defeat four wolves – she had no idea, but she was going to die trying.

Just when she thought all hope was lost, two wolves emerged from the forest. One had a coat as dark as Adam’s and the other gray-and-white like Noah’s. Sophie knew. They were Adam and Noah’s fathers, and they had come to protect their sons. In a twist of fate, the three remaining wolves started moving backwards, away from Sophie as if scampering away. They didn’t want to fight against more experienced wolves, and Adam’s and Noah’s fathers had decades of experience of being shifters even if they didn’t have a pack.

At their cowardice, Damien let out a jarring howl. It reverberated throughout the mountain peak and the rest of the forest as he tipped his snout upwards towards the moon. Then, he closed in on Sophie – If she wasn’t going to marry him, she wasn’t going to marry anyone else – and positioned himself to finish her off.

Damien’s demise happened in a quick succession of movements. Sophie was waiting for Damien’s attack, acting as the bait. Then, before Damien could strike, the all-black wolf of Adam’s father rammed his skull against the lower end of the side of Damien’s body while Noah’s father targeted the area just past his neck. Sophie winced when she heard the sounds of bones and joints dislocating and cracking, and she watched as Damien fell to the ground. The fallen Alpha tried to stand up. He pushed himself up with his front legs
, but his hind legs remained uncooperative, sweeping the ground with every miniscule movement just as his tail did. Before he could land another strike in his helpless state, Sophie finished Damien off by biting into his chest area and taking his heart out.

When all was done and not a threat was looming, Adam and Noah’s fathers ran to their sons to help them up while the three wolves that remained walked towards Sophie and bowed their heads in front of her. She knew what the gesture meant. She knew what they were asking of her.

They wanted her to become the new Alpha.

  Chapter 12

“Hey son,” said Adam’s father. “Tell Sophie to take care, alright? And that she’s always welcome in our home.”

With a single wink, his father disappeared behind the kitchen door as Adam walked towards the entrance of the house. There in the front porch were Noah, Sophie, and her three pack members. It was a new day, a sunny one actually, brighter and happier than midnight had been. There may have been a series of wounds, cuts, and bites on various parts of their bodies, but they were all going to be alright. When Adam looked at Noah, he just knew the both of them were going to be alright. Last night had been difficult, the scariest he’d ever been. If their dads hadn’t arrived to defend them, they would have been dead. Adam let out a weighted sigh at that thought. It was all over now.

“You alright?” Noah asked, standing up from his seat to rest his back against the ledge. “You look like you just saw a ghost.”

“I’m fine,” Adam said quickly before he turned to face Sophie and her pack. “So you’re really leaving? You’re heading back?”

Sophie curved her lips up into a small smile and nodded her head, as she sat up from the rocking chair and walked in front of Adam. Her fingers were playing with a ring in her left hand. She twisted and turned the metal around her finger before she pulled it off.
