“Not naïve exactly, trusting. You wished to believe Trevino was being truthful and you’ve been rewarded for that truth with his unconditional love. I see no flaw or naïveté in that logic.” Dwin observed.

Dwin had such an appealing way of putting things that you just couldn’t doubt his words. “Thank you.”

“I told you that years ago and you wouldn’t believe me.” Trevino whispered into her ear seductively.

“You had an ulterior motive when you told me. Why would I believe a word you said to me?” She loved seeing the pout curve his lips. Lately it was always followed by a kiss that recently led to more.

“I’ll show you an ulterior motive.” He warned tickling her until she begged for mercy.

“Finish the story you goof, your parents don’t have all night to listen to us argue.”

“I for one am enjoying listening to the back and forth banter. It tells me more about your relationship than any tale my son might weave.” Dwin told them grinning.

“Seriously father, you are taking too much pleasure in my pain. Stop doing whatever it is you’re thinking of doing. I just want Sarah to make her final wish so I can marry her. I am not letting this woman go ever again, it took me too long to find her. So please behave yourself.” Trevino warned biting back a grin at the look on his love’s face.

Sarah watched Dwin’s lips twitch at the reprimand his son had slapped him with. “Have you heard enough or do you need more Sir?”

Dwin laughed. “I heard enough, are you ready for this child?”

“I’ve been ready forever.” She told him with a happy smile.

“What are you two talking about?” Trevino asked, suspiciously looking from Sarah to his father and back.

Jenelle grinned at her son, and snapped her fingers. Christmas decorations appeared decorating the room all around them. His brothers popped in one by one until the whole family was present and looking at him with grins covering their lips. “What the…”

“I, Sarah, wish to be Trevino Dwin’s wife for eternity and beyond.” Sarah unexpectedly pledged, forcing him to grant her wish.

Trevino lay gasping in his chair, the room still spinning around him as Sarah was magically pulled from his lap, her body bathed in red and green light. “Sarah, no…”

Within seconds he felt his body being pulled towards his lamp, and realised he couldn’t worry about Sarah his parents would take care of her. “I wish to take my Jin exams!”

With a puff of green smoke, Trevino was gone, pulled to the council chambers to undergo his final test and become a Jin. Sarah’s voice echoing behind him calling his name.

  Chapter 7

“Where is he? Where did he go? Oh my god what did I do, did I say the wish wrong?” Sarah cried, tears pouring down her cheeks, as she searched for Trevino.

“Hush child, Trevino is safe and his father is gone to be with him. He’s been taken to the council to pass his Jin exams.” Jenelle told her in a calming voice.

“How can you be so sure?”

Carlo walked over to her carrying a hand held mirror. “Look for yourself, the spell worked and therefore Trevino knew you would be taken care of. Alas he needed to make his declaration to take his exam or be bound to his lamp until a new Master chose him.”

“He can pass right? I won’t lose him because I didn’t give him more warning to prepare will I?” Sarah asked with worry. She couldn’t lose Trevino now.

Carlo put the mirror in her hand, and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “I’m positive he can, he has all the incentive he needs right here in the form of his new wife.”

Sarah looked down into the mirror she held and gasped. Her hair had streaks of green highlights running through her red locks. “What happened?”

“You became immortal, and your hair is the manifestation of that change. It suits you if I may be so bold. Which reminds me, Merry Christmas Sarah and happy birthday?” Carlo reminded with a grin.

“I nearly forgot it was my birthday, and Trevino isn’t here to sing to me.” She replied sadly, moving towards Trevino’s bookshelf. “When did this appear?” She asked holding up a framed photo of the event that just occurred.

“You couldn’t expect me not to have a picture of our wedding day on my shelf. It wouldn’t do to have the most important day of my life missing from my memory shelf.” Trevino told her with a grin from the doorway.

Sarah turned and threw herself into his arms. “Thank god you’re okay, I was so worried.”

Chuckling throatily Trevino held her close. “I love your hair, now you’re truly my Christmas Master. How do you feel?”

“The same, what about you? You look different somehow, stronger, more confident if that’s even possible. How did your test go, are you a…Trevino, where are your bracelets?”

Grinning Trevino kissed her softly. “Passed with flying colors, I am now a full-fledged Djinn. The council jumped me two stages during my trials. They also congratulated me on my nuptials and told me to take my new bride on a honeymoon, before returning for my new assignment.”

“Trevino, no more talk, I want a real wedding with wedding bands and vows. I want a ring on that finger telling the world you belong to me.” She demanded cupping his face.

“I thought you’d never ask love, but if I may point out, we have irremovable bands on our hands and you already told me your vows. Now I need to tell you mine. I love you Sarah, and I accept your wish to be my wife for eternity and beyond. I return the pledge, with all of my heart. Happy birthday my beautiful Christmas Master, or should I say my Christmas wife.”

“I love you too Mr. Djinn.”
