After spending the night all together in the largest house on the island, which used to belong to the Chief Elder, Melantho cooked a hearty breakfast for them all. She used to work in the house as cook and maid, so knew exactly where to find everything she needed. She hummed as she took the large pan outside and set it up on the fire. Although the rest of the islanders rarely ate a hot breakfast, it had been a regular occurrence for Hermandine, the Chief Elder, so Melantho was well-used to dishing up hot, filling food first thing in the morning, which was exactly what was needed for the survivors today.

“That smells lovely,” Aitan said as he came out into the bright sunshine.

  Melantho blushed. “Thank you.”

“Is Ligia still sleeping?” Kalliope came out, putting her sodden shawl on a rock to dry.

“Yes, she’s exhausted,” Aitan said with a yawn.

“Breakfast will be a short while yet,” Melantho announced, taking a pot of boiling water from one side of the fire. “But there’s green tea if you’d like some?”

Dr. Jay joined them as they sat around the fire to enjoy an early morning cuppa.

“I need to get Ademia back to Eastland today,” he said with a sigh. “That arm’s pretty bad, I think it’ll need a cast. I could use some more painkillers from the hospital anyway, I’ve got a feeling we’re going to get through quite a few over the next few days.” He frowned as Farris joined them, rubbing his back as he walked.

“Morning all,” Farris managed a smile, but winced as he sat down on a nearby rock.

“I think you’d better come too, get that back looked at properly.” Dr. Jay passed his friend a mug of steaming tea.

“Instead of by you, you mean?” Farris joked cheekily. He was always insulting his best mate.

Dr. Jay narrowed his eyes. “I can always forget the painkillers, you know.”

  The girls giggled.

“Ademia will be staying with us for a while,” Dr. Jay continued, looking over to Melantho. “I want to keep an eye on her for a bit.”

“OK, I’ll tell Sapphire she won’t be home.”

“In that case, do you think I could stay with you and Sapphire for a few days?” Kalliope piped up.

Melantho stared at her wide eyed. “Of course, but…”

“Aren’t you being a bit hasty, Kally?” Aitan urged, taking another sip of his tea.

“I don’t think so.” Kalliope shook her head sadly. “I think it’s over for me and Rech.”

She turned back to Melantho. “If I can just stay for a couple of days while I get things sorted I think it would make life a bit easier.”

“Easier for who?” Aitan pressed the point.

Kalliope sighed. “For all of us. He doesn’t trust me, he thinks I went off with Zigor, when we only went to save the island. He’ll never believe me if I tell him what really happened, he’s already made his mind up. That’s why I slept on the sofa last night, I knew he wouldn’t want me with him.”

“Does Rechavia know you’re leaving him?” Farris asked.

“No, Rechavia doesn’t know any such thing.” A deep voice growled from behind them as Rechavia walked out of the front door. He raised a quizzical eyebrow to Kalliope, who blushed. The sunlight glinted off his shiny, dark, wet hair and his eyes appeared a slightly lighter brown than normal. He had no shirt on. This guy was gorgeous. Kalliope couldn’t hold his stare and gazed down into her tea cup.

“Would you like some tea?” Melantho offered him a mug, which he took with a nod. He still hadn’t taken his eyes off Kalliope.

  “Are you leaving me, Kalliope?”

Rechavia’s low voice always did things to Kalliope’s girly parts, though she was surprised to feel herself gush under the circumstances. She looked up into his handsome face and could hardly speak. “Well, I…” she began.

His questioning look did nothing to help her finish.

“I thought that’s what you wanted,” she said in a small voice.

He nodded, stroking his chin thoughtfully. The silence was deafening.

“Maybe we should talk,” he suggested at last.

She shot to her feet and placed her cup on a nearby rock. There was no way she wanted to talk in front of everyone.

Rechavia took his time drinking more of his tea before he placed his mug down and, placing a hand at the small of her back, led her toward the beach.

The sun promised another glorious day on the island and the sand was already warm beneath her feet as she removed her flip-flops. There was a slight breeze coming in off the ocean, which gently blew the hair away from her face. Rechavia wore cream, cropped trousers and no shoes.

“If you no longer wish to live with me I’ll leave,” he said eventually as they strolled along the water’s edge. “This is your home, I respect that.”

Tears began to fill her eyes and she daren’t look at his face. She continued to walk slowly, staring down at the sand.

“Kalliope, this is your island. You belong here. I know this is where you wish to be and I wouldn’t want to make you feel uncomfortable here. You deserve to be happy, and you have managed to save your home so it’s only right that you should be able to live here happily. The hut is also yours, I have no rights to it, nor would I want any. This is your place.”

He stopped in front of her. She felt her face burn as silent tears poured down her face. This is it. I’ve lost him.

“Don’t be upset, pretty maid.” He tucked a finger under her chin and raised her face up to meet his gaze.

She couldn’t speak. She didn’t know what to say. Nothing she could think of would make things right. She sniffed. He wiped her tears away with his thumb. He was smiling. He looked so kind. So beautiful. She couldn’t bear it. Every fibre in her body willed her to turn and run away but her legs had turned to lead.

“Hey.” He kissed the top of her head gently.

She began to sob uncontrollably and he took her in his strong arms and held her. Her arms wrapped around his back and she clung to him for dear life. For this life. The life she wanted to share with him. The life that would not be worth living if he wasn’t in it. Her body shook violently as he held her. She could smell his distinctive scent. The scent that was him, and him alone. She breathed him in as if it were her last few breaths. She clung to his strength, his re-assuring, muscular strength. One of the many things she had fallen in love with. Love. She loved him. She loved him so much it hurt.

As if reading her thoughts he lifted her chin up, forcing her to meet his gaze. She stared into his big, brown eyes and was astonished to see tears running from them, down his gorgeously high cheek bones and round his squared jaw. He’s crying!

She lifted her hand and brushed away his tears with her finger. His hand came up and held hers, lifting it to his luscious mouth where he kissed her fingers one by one. His breath was hot and his mouth was wet. God, she loved the feel of him.

  “I love you,” she whispered.

“I love you, too, pretty maid,” he said with a warm smile.

Placing her hands behind his neck, she pulled his gorgeous face down to meet hers and licked all around his salty lips before tentatively poking her soft tongue into his mouth. She devoured him in a sensual kiss, which became hotter and more passionate for both of them as it continued. She sighed into his mouth as she felt his big hands caress her back and stroke her hair. This was what she needed. This was where she belonged. She only hoped and prayed that this was what he truly wanted.

Pressing her body against him she was relieved and delighted to feel his erection dig into her thigh. He was so big. So hard. She rubbed against him as she ravaged his gorgeous mouth. He responded in every way she had hoped. His kisses became hotter and he leaned her back as he laid her on the wet sand. The water sloshed toward her but it didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. Nothing except this.

Panting, he slipped a hand around her back and untied her bikini top. His lips left hers as they made their way down to her breasts, nippin
g her deliciously along the way. Kalliope bucked upward as his hot breath wafted over her right nipple, just before his wet lips sucked and nibbled at it playfully.

She felt a gush between her legs, and her pussy ached for him.

“Please Rech, please…” she whispered, not even sure if he would hear. He heard.

“Tell me, pretty maid, tell me what you want.” His lips kissed their way across to her left breast, which he laved and kissed tenderly.

“More, Rech, I want more!” Kalliope almost cried with frustration as another gush soaked her bikini pants.

The tide was coming in and she welcomed the water that crept up and lazily washed over them both.

“Are you sure?” He was gazing straight into her eyes now, looking serious and tentative.

“Yes.” She didn’t need asking twice. “I want you, Rech. I want you inside me.”

He tore down his pants as his massive cock bounced free. He was still staring into her face, watching her reaction.

She licked her lips instinctively. She heard him chuckle deep in his throat as he pulled off her soaked panties. His hand was tender as it stroked up her inner thigh.

“Oh, Rech,” she felt as though she would burst if he didn’t touch her soon.

His other hand stroked her hair off her forehead. She felt him tickle her thigh. He was so gentle. Too gentle. His gorgeous mouth came down over hers again and his hand left her thigh and stroked its way up her hip, her side and then her shoulder. Not enough!

“Rech, not like this!” She pulled back from his mouth to speak. He stared at her horrified and immediately removed his body from where it was leaning on hers.

“I’m sorry…I thought…” He grabbed his pants just as she grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks. She was sat up now.

“No! You don’t understand. I want you, just not like that. You’re too gentle, too tender, that’s not what I want. I want you like you were before. You know, when you held my arms down and took me…hard! That’s what I want, Rech, that’s you.” She almost cried as she tried to make him see.

“So you don’t want me to be gentle with you?” His voice had become slightly deeper and she shivered with delight. He had put his pants back down on the sand and now lay half over her but not quite touching her skin. She lay flat on her back, gazing up into his soft brown eyes.

“N-no, Rech. I love it when you’re a bit more…rough,” Kalliope stuttered, feeling slightly nervous but oh so turned on. The way he spoke in that deep voice and the way he looked at her made her feel jittery and excited.

  “I see,” he said thoughtfully.

  Thank God!

He took her arms and held them above her head with one of his strong hands. “Like this, you mean?”

“Yes, yes, that’s exactly what I mean,” her voice was a little shaky with anticipation.

“And you want me to take you…hard?”

Another gush soaked her pussy, but the sea was gently washing over so she didn’t worry. Just his words, his voice, were enough to get her going.

  “Yes,” she whispered. “Yes please.”

A sexy grin flooded his face as he leaned over her further, this time touching her hot skin with his. She felt him rub against her and sighed heavily. At last!

“Take me, Rech, please take me,” she gasped, as she felt his cock begging for entry at the mouth of her aching pussy.

She stretched her legs wide, bending her knees to open herself up to him. Her eyes silently pleading with him to enter her.

He accepted her invitation and with one fell swoop his massive cock thrust hard into her. She let out a gasp of relief and shock as she felt the whole length of him inside her. She felt so full, almost too full, but so good! As he began to move slowly in and out, she felt the fire burn in her stomach. It wouldn’t take much to make her come, she was sure of that! His thick cock pounded in and out of her soaking pussy, as the cool waves sloshed over their hot bodies. The feeling was exquisite. She felt his wet hair on her face and stared into his gorgeous big eyes as their passion mounted.

The fire tore through her and she screamed her orgasm seconds before he gave a loud, guttural groan and exploded into her. They clung to each other, panting hard and shaking for what seemed ages before he slumped to one side and pulled her head to rest on his heaving chest.

Kalliope wrapped her arms around him and held on. She never wanted to let go of this feeling, of this moment, of this man.

  Chapter 14

Breakfast was delicious. Ligia and Ademia joined them, though Rechavia and Kalliope didn’t quite make it.

“Eat it all up, little lady, Dr. Jay’s taking you to the hospital in a while,” Farris said as Ademia was about to give up on her massive plateful.

“I don’t think I can eat it all,” she said with a sigh, “I feel a bit sick.”

“That’s normal.” Dr. Jay leaned over and put a hand on her forehead. “Eat what you can, it’ll be a while before your next proper meal.” He shot a wary look to Farris, who frowned.

Ligia collected up the dirty plates and helped Melantho with the washing up.

“That was a lovely meal, Melantho. Thank you so much for looking after us.” Dr. Jay patted the young girl on the shoulder as he made his way past them.

  Melantho blushed. “You’re very welcome.”

There was a chorus of thank-yous from Aitan and Farris, which made her stare at her feet with embarrassment, and Ligia giggled.

“Are you OK to come with us?” Dr. Jay asked Aitan as they made their way back into the house.

“Sure. I’ll go check over the boat while you get ready,” Aitan offered, grabbing a flask.

Melantho and Ligia followed them down to the jetty and waved them off. The outboard motor roared as they sped away. Despite his back, Farris insisted on being the pilot today, probably to impress Ademia, Aitan surmised.

“At least the sea’s calm today,” Farris grinned as he guided the boat toward Eastland. “We don’t want to give Ademia any more excuses to be sick.”

Ademia narrowed her eyes at him as she sat cuddled up to the doctor. They were all used to Farris’s teasing.

“Leave her alone, she’s not well,” Dr. Jay warned him. “You just concentrate on getting us there in one piece.”

“Aye aye sir!” Farris gave a mock salute and twisted the handle toward him to speed up the boat a little.

The doctor ignored his friend, as usual, and instead gestured over to Aitan. “Pass that bag over will you, mate, I need my Dictaphone.”

“I don’t know why you can’t use your finger like everyone else,” Farris scoffed as Aitan passed over the doctor’s bag.

“Very funny, but can I remind you that we are in the company of a young lady?” Dr. Jay rolled his eyes at the sailor.

“Sorry Ademia,” Farris said with a nod.

“That’s OK,” Ademia replied with a puzzled frown. “But what’s a phone?”

The men roared with laughter, much to Ademia’s astonishment.

“It’s all right, baby, I’ll explain later,” Dr. Jay promised, smiling. He shook his head at Farris. “I just need to make some notes into this before I forget,” he said, switching on the machine in his hand.

Ademia moved over to sit by Aitan so as not to disturb the doctor while he was working. Aitan put a reassuring arm around her and they gazed into the deep green sea.

A few hours later they moored up in Eastland’s busy harbour. Farris deftly manoeuvred the boat into a space and everyone jumped out.

“I’m starving,” Farris piped up as they reached town. “Shall we get some lunch?”

“We’ll go to the hospital first, then we can eat,” Dr. Jay said firmly. “It’s not far.”

The hospital was a massive white building inside and out. Everything gleamed as they made their way up the long corridor to a small office. Dr. Jay knocked on the door. Ademia shivered, pulling her shawl around her. It wasn’t unusual for people to be walking arou
nd in bikinis at the hospital, but seeing the staff in their different colored tunics and white coats made her feel very self-conscious.

“Dr. Jasun, how nice to see you again. How are things?” An old man with hair as white as his coat opened the door and ushered them inside.

“I need to ask a favour, Dr. Ernaut, if you don’t mind?” Dr. Jay asked as the older man took his seat.

“Of course. What do you need?”

“Some more supplies and the use of your facilities, if that’s OK? Ademia’s injured her arm, broken it I think, and I need someone to check out Farris’s back.”

Dr. Ernaut was on his feet in a flash and called a nurse who immediately came though and took instruction. A man appeared with a wheelchair to take Farris off to be examined, and the nurse took care of Ademia.

“You’ll be needing some strong painkillers,” Dr. Ernaut said as he led Dr. Jay and Aitan down the corridor to find their supplies.

It wasn’t long before Ademia and Farris re-appeared, both looking a little stiff from their dressings, but feeling much more comfortable.

“Now can we go eat?” Farris grumbled, rolling his eyes as he climbed out of the wheelchair. His bandaged ribs were aching like Hell.

“Yes, come on,” Dr. Jay said with a grin, as he put an arm around Ademia. “There should be a tavern or something near here.”

The nearest inn was very busy and noisy, so they decided to go to one nearer the dock.

“There’s a quiet one just down the street there.” Ademia pointed, remembering the place they visited the other night.

Dr. Jay raised a quizzical eyebrow but decided it was best not to ask how she knew about it. He was just pleased that the rather dimly lit, quiet public house wasn’t too crowded and they were able to find a table to eat at. They sat at a booth and ordered their meals while enjoying a refreshing drink.

“This is quiet,” Farris said, looking around the room.
