He walked across the room, put his hand on my arm and gave it a squeeze.
Suddenly very aware that I had Carina’s hot pussy juice dripping from my mouth, I wiped my chin with the back of my hand.
Derek took a step back and winced. “Nice, man. Nice.”
“Fuck off,” I muttered. “What the fuck are you guys doing here anyways?”
Derek sighed. “Oh shit,” he muttered. “Dude, I had no fucking idea that you’d be here. I thought you guys said you’d already been up once this season? How are you getting this much time off work?”
I shook my head. Looking down, I saw a fresh tea-towel in one of the boxes. I scooped it up and shamelessly wiped the rest of Carina off of my face.
This time Derek didn’t react.
I took a deep breath, sighed, then looked Derek in the eye. “What the hell’s going on? What are you guys doing here?”
Derek rubbed the back of his neck and looked around the room. “Bro,” he said quietly, “I really really hope this isn’t my fuck-up.”
A weight settled in my stomach. His fuck-up? That didn’t sound good. That sounded like there’d been some kind of plan, that we’d…
Oh fuck.
I closed my eyes, let out a long breath as my stomach started twisting into an uncomfortable not. My mind started racing back through texts and phone calls and emails, running off dates as pieces started to fall into place.
I opened my eyes.
Derek looked like he was in pain, the way his mouth was twisted looking at me. “It’s not my fuck-up, is it?” he asked quietly.
I shook my head. “No. It’s not.”
How could I have… “You’re here to spend the week, aren’t you?” he asked, quieter still.
I heard the other two guys laugh outside. The sound of their deep voices made me cringe. This was the grandest of the grand fuck-ups.
Cottage-gate, if you will.
“I can’t believe I did this,” I said, pressing two fingers to my forehead. The whole thing felt like some lucid nightmare. I went over the last few emails over and over again in my mind.
We’ll take the last week of August then.
That was it. That was definitely what Derek had written. I was obviously going to check my phone about it but now that I’d thought it through there could be no doubt. The question was, how did I manage to mess that up?
Deep breath.
“You guys drove all the way out, didn’t you?” I asked. “You weren’t just conveniently in the nieghborhood or something?”
Derek grimaced and shook his head. “I… “
“I don’t know what to say either.” What was I going to do? “The guys take time off work for this?”
Derek nodded slowly.
“You too?”
Another nod.
“Fuck!” I seethed and slammed my fist on the counter.
Derek pulled his phone out of his pocket and checked it, as if there was going to be anything there. There was barely a signal out here. He just didn’t want to stand there looking at me.
“Okay hold on,” I began. I looked around and started counting rooms. There was the master, if you could call it that. It was barely a room with just enough space for a bed and one nightstand. There was a tiny guest bedroom off to the side with a single in it.
Then there was the shitty pull-out couch in the living room that could sleep two.
Maybe if we… “Dude,” Derek said, shaking his head. “I don’t think it’s gonna happen.”
I sighed again. He was right. He was fucking right. There was no way it was going to happen. And not just because of the sleeping arrangements.
What I had on my hands was a very difficult choice. I could either choose giving my friends the cabin for the week I’d promised them, or I could choose my wife.
“Okay, you know what? I’m gonna go outside, explain this to the guys and see what they think. They’re good guys. I’m pretty sure we can make something else work. We’ll… we’ll find another place or something.”
I shook my head. “You know that’s not going to happen, not this late in the season. Not for this week. Plus you already spent a day driving out here and you’re going to spend another day driving back. It’s not like… ugh. Fuck!”
What the hell had I been thinking? I hadn’t been thinking. That was the problem. What was wrong with me? I never did stuff like this!
Derek stood there looking anywhere but right at me while I stared off into the distance.
“Okay. Just… just hold on. Let me go talk to Carina. There’s got to be a way we can figure this out. We’re all grown-ups here. There has to be a way we can make it work.”
Derek smirked. Not a mean smirk, just a “yeah-right” sort of laugh. “Bud, I don’t think you should… “
I held up a hand to interrupt him. “No. I’ve got to try. This is my fault and I’ve at least got to try and sort it out.”
Derek smiled, shook his head and turned around. “All right, man. If you say so. It’s your funeral.” Then he walked out to join the other guys around the car.
I just heard him starting to explain as I knocked on the bedroom door and stepped inside.
Carina was sitting on the edge of the bed, her face beet-red, her cheeks all puffed out and her lips forming a tight line. When she saw me, she sprang up and came at me like she had a knife.
“What the hell is going on? What are they doing here?” she snapped, pointing a sharp finger towards the door.
I put my hands up to try and calm her down but she waved them away and spun around to face the window.
Okay. I was fucked.
“Babe? I fucked up,” I said.
For a moment there was no change in her stance. Then, the tiniest relaxation of her shoulder blades.
That was good. That was a good sign. That meant this might be the right track.
“I fucked up and it’s totally my fault and… and I have no idea how I’m going to make this up to you. I feel… I feel terrible. I’m just… well, there’s no excuse. There’s no excuse. I measured once and cut twice and now we’re all here at the same time. And I’m a total ass hole.”
Her shoulders relaxed. She turned around.
Her expression had softened even though her face was still bright red. Still, this was progress.
“I keep trying to think how I could have done this and the only thing I can think of is that I messed up my calendar with the work calendar. They’re almost the same color on my phone and I must have glanced at one and not the other before I confirmed with Derek. Carina… I’m so sorry.”
Yeah, I’m not too ashamed to grovel if it’s required. Whatever, you’d do it too.
Carina tilted her head, just slightly, to one side. Then she sighed. Then she looked at the ground and let her hands fall to her sides. “Okay. Okay. I’m sorry I snapped like that.” She looked up and I thought she was going to cry with how big her eyes were and how red her face was. “And Kevin… the fact that they saw that.”
I’d almost forgotten that the three of them had walked in on us while my face was still buried in Carina’s pussy. My cheeks started to burn a little at the memory.
And, of all things, my cock jolted to life.
What the fuck?!?
“Okay look,” I began. “I’ll go out there, tell them that this is the only week we have off this year and that they are just going to have to… “
Carina shook her head. “Oh no. Unh-uh. There’s no way you’re doing that. Didn’t those guys drive all the way from Remington County to get here?”
“Yeah,” I said, sighing.
Carina’s brow arched in sympathy. “Oh Kev, we can’t do that to them. They probably took time off work for this too, right?”
I nodded.
Carina smacked her forehead with her palm. “Great. Just great,” she said.
“Well we’re not going back.” I felt a stab of angst at the thought that our whole vacation, this whole week I’d been pining for for the las
t six months, was ruined.
“What else are supposed to do?” she asked, her voice a little whinier.
I thought. And thought. And thought. “I don’t know. I don’t know what the hell to do. But there has to be something. There has to be some way to figure this out without someone’s entire vacation getting destroyed.”
A snarky, exasperated smirk burst from Carina. “Ugh, like what, Kev? Like what?”
I bristled and my patience nearly snapped. I’d done my best, I’d got us here, to Carina’s objections I might add, and now I was getting nothing but shit from her. “Look,” I began, then, hearing the tone I was using took another breath to try and calm down.
Carina seemed to notice something was wrong. She stepped towards me and put a hand on my arm. “Okay, I’m sorry. I’m sorry again. This is stressful and I’m not helping. You’re right. We should try to sort something out. You should try to sort something out.”
Well, it was progress but why just me? “What, are you just going to hide in here?” I asked.
Carina smiled slightly. “Kevin? Let me make something perfectly clear. I am never stepping into a room with those guys again.”
My mouth dropped open. “What? What do you mean never?”
“Never as in N-E-V-E-R. Neverrrrrr“
Just as I was about to object, Carina spun around, flopped down on the bed and buried her head beneath a pillow.
“Babe… “ I began.
Carina’s muffled voice rose up from underneath the down. “La-lah-la, la-la-lah-la! I can’t hear you!”
Great.
Just fucking great.
Chapter 3
The boys were all standing around the white van they’d driven on, outside. They looked up as I came out and watched me descend the steps of the porch, my head hung in shame.
The last few feet from the bottom of the steps to the van felt like I was walking the plank.
“Guys,” I said, looking up and shaking my head. “I am soooo sorry about this.”
The boys glanced at each other then shook their heads with Derek stepping towards me. “Dude, relax. We’ve got it all figured out.”
“What?” I asked. “You do?”
“Yeah man. We’re totally good.”
“We… we are?” The heaviest part of my stomach started lifting up.
“We totally are. Listen, we’re gonna drive back to that little town tonight. If we can’t find anything there we’ve got a tent in the van. Then we’ll drive back to the county and… “
My stomach sank back down. There was no way I was letting them do that. “No, guys. No. Just no. I can’t let you do that.”
“No man, seriously. It’s… it is what it is. We all fuck up every once in a while. We’ll just say you owe us one and leave it at that. Man, if I fucked up like this and it was me out here with my wife… “
“You’re not married,” I muttered.
“Right, but if I was and I fucked up like this, I would be on my knees begging you to do this for me. This is your way out. No begging required.”
“Yo, where’s Carina anyways? She still inside?” Sam asked, the first words he’d spoken since he arrived. He took a step forward and it made me realize how big he’d become.
“Have you been working out?” I said, unable to resist looking at his python arms.
Sam cracked a massive grin.
Derek and James groaned and rolled their eyes.
“See? I told you he’d notice.”
Now that I had time to actually look at him, he looked huge. Way bigger than he’d been before. His arms looked like they were going to rip the sleeves of the white t-shirt he had on. His pecs were a wall of muscle and lower down he had a set of clearly outlined washboard abs.
“You on steroids or something?” I asked.
Still grinning, Sam shook his head. “No way man. Keto gains!” he said, flexing his whole torso.
“Oh the gains!” James moaned, then tilted his head back and howled up at the sky.
Derek chuckled and rubbed his nose with a finger. “It was a long eight hours.”
I could only imagine. Still, the boys seemed like they’d had fun.
“Anyways,” Derek went on, “I’m telling you we’ve got this. Alright?”
My stomach sank even lower, like I’d swallowed a bunch of stones. I felt like a total ass. And yet…
And yet what the hell else was I going to do? Carina had barricaded herself inside, swore she was never going to look my friends in the eye again, and now the only choice I had was to ask them to hide behind the truck while I escorted her to the car and drove off, our cottage plans just a tattered mess of…
“Yeah, there’s no way that’s happening.”
The soft yet certain sound of Carina’s voice drifting down from the porch made the boys freeze and me snap my head back.
It was really her. Her arms were folded over her chest and she was leaning against one of the porch banisters looking down at us like she was about to boss us all around.
A frisson of excitement swept through me. Was this really happening? Had she changed her mind? Was she going to be able to deal with all of this after all?
“Uh, Carina,” Derek said, the sound of his voice betraying his smile. “You look fantastic.”
It was literally the last thing I expected to hear him say. But he was right.
Carina had changed out of her tight shorts into a flowing white skirt that came down just past her knees. She still had the tight tank top on and she’d put on some make-up while we’d been outside.
She looked like a fifties pin-up doll leaning against the bannister the way she was. Thick and juicy and oh so full of… pride, or something.
I don’t think I’d ever seen her like that. She must have really worked hard to pull her shit together.
“Uh, what?” I said, stepping towards the porch.
Carina flashed a benevolent “you’ll-pay-for-this-later” kind of smile before turning to look at the guys again. “Okay. I’m sorry I freaked out and ran into the room screaming instead of saying ‘hi,’ but, I kind of had my hands full and I kind of didn’t expect you guys.”
An uneasy silence settled over us all. The forest seemed to get louder and a gust of breeze swept up off the lake.
“So, yeah. Sorry about that.”
I wasn’t sure what all the other guys were doing but I was pretty sure they were doing the same thing as I was, staring up at my angelic wife.
Something hard twisted inside me. The weight in my stomach lifted, then sank back down in the most pleasant way making my cock stir.
What the fuck was that?
“So, uh… so what is the plan then?” Derek asked from behind me.
Carina unfolded her arms revealing her magnificent round breasts and walked down the steps.
An uneasy feeling shivered through me. A moment later I put my finger on what it was.
Jealousy. I was jealous.
Carina rarely dressed in any sort of enticing way. Even before we’d been married she was very conservative in her fashion tastes, never revealing too much.
Now that we were married she never wore anything more revealing than a high cut top.
I knew she’d put on the tight shorts and white shirt for my benefit, knowing we probably wouldn’t be running into anyone else out here, certainly not anyone we knew.
But something felt off. She was carrying herself so confidently despite the revealing outfit. It was like she didn’t care that the guys were watching her, which I knew they were.
There was no way she didn’t know it, either. She could be a little prudish but she wasn’t stupid. She knew what was what.
It was definitely a strange thing to happen, her being so bold like that.
“The plan is,” she said, stepping past me. “That no matter what happens tomorrow you guys are going to stay the night.”
Um… what?
“Carina that’s really nice of you but… “ Derek began.
Ca
rina cut him off with a palm in the air. “I’m not taking no for an answer,” she said, in that way only a woman can. “We all make mistakes sometimes,” she said, turning to give me a sharp eye, “and we all end up paying for them somehow.”
I sucked in a quick breath as I felt the other guys staring at me and Carina, too. It was the craziest moment. The whole world felt like it was shifting around me.
Carina and I didn’t have this kind of relationship. We were kind and caring and nobody ever said the things she was saying, even as a joke. It felt a little paralyzing, to be honest. Just because I didn’t know what to do with it.
So why was my cock getting harder?!?
Carina’s expression softened as she smiled. “Kevin,” she whispered, leaning close, “relax! I’m joking! Can you help me out here?” Her eyes went wide in a way that asked for my complicity in front of the guys.
Immediately the tension in my middle snapped as I realized she was putting on a show.
Phew. Okay. This, I could deal with.
I hung my head in shame and pushed my shoulders forward in an exaggerated slump.
The boys dutifully chuckled.
“So,” Carina went on, “we’re going to fill the fridge with beer, start a fire, cook some meat and then… “ The strange knot in my stomach tightened again.
And then? And then what?!?
“And then… “ She let the words linger on the end of her tongue. “I’m going to need some time to decide how best you can entertain me,” she said, pointing her nose up into the air.
Her cheeks flushed as soon as the words were out of her mouth. She drew in a breath, as if incredulous at what she’d just said.
Then she burst into giggles, covering her mouth with her hand, and ran up the steps.
I could barely believe this was my wife. She was being so brassy and bold and not… shy all of a sudden. What the hell was up?
Carina spun around at the top of the steps, still blushing. She eyed the four of us with a wicked smile, like she was drunk on her own mischief. “Well? What are you waiting for? Get this stuff unpacked!”
She spun around, nearly cackling, and disappeared inside the house.
