Launch the OneDrive Settings (click the blue or white blue cloud icon from the notification area, and then tap Help & Settings > Settings .)
In Settings, choose Backup , and click on Manage backup .
If you want to discontinue backing up a particular folder, click Stop backup . To verify that you actually want to stop backup in the Are you sure you want to stop folder backup dialog, choose Stop backup .
To begin backing up your folder, choose any folder that doesn't read Files backed up , and then choose Start backup .

Enhancing security with the Windows security
Windows10 comes with Windows Security feature, which offers the updated antivirus protection. Your computer will be duly protected from the time you begin to use Windows10. Windows Security is able to scan continually for viruses, malware (malicious software, and security threats. In addition, updates are automatically downloaded to help keep your computer safe and protect the computer from threats.
The Windows Security features in the screenshot above can be used to customize how your computer is protected. To use them, click Start , select Settings , tap Update & Security , click on Windows Security , and then choose the feature that you want to access.
See the status icons below to know the level of safety of your computer;
▪ Green indicates that your computer is protected sufficiently and you have no action to work on.
▪ Yellow indicates that there is a recommended safety for you.
▪ Red means and there is something that you need to work which is very urgent.
Manually run a malware scan
When you are worried about risks to a particular folder or file, just right-click on the folder or file in File Explorer, and then click on Scan with Microsoft Defender .
If you feel that your computer has been attacked by a malware or virus, then you should endeavor to run a quick scan immediately. This is actually much faster than running a full scan on all the folders and files on your computer.
Using the Quick Scan feature for Windows security
Click Start , select Settings , tap Update & Security , click on Windows Security , and select Virus & threat protection .
Under Current threats , click on Quick scan (or choose Scan now under Threat history in the previous editions of Windows 10).
If you run the scan and you don’t seem to find anything wrong with your computer, but you are still worried, then you can carry out some other advanced scan.
Perform advanced scan for Windows security
- Click Start , select Settings , tap Update & Security , click on Windows Security , and select Virus & threat protection .
- Under Current threats , click on Scan options (or if you are using the previous edition of Windows 10, just click on Run a new advanced scan under Threat history ).
- Choose any of the scan options below;
Full scan (check programs and files that are currently running on your computer)
Custom scan (this is to scan specific folders and files)
Microsoft Defender Offline scan (this scan should be activated if your computer, or could potentially be, infected by a malware or virus).
Click on Scan now .
