“Kollin!”
His eyes darted to Usla. Was she still here? Shaking his head and swallowing hard, he said, “What?”
“What is wrong with you? I’ve been talking this entire time, but you haven’t heard a word I’ve said.”
“My apologies, princess. I’m just a little on edge.”
“I’m sure you’re anxious to take control of your ship.” He chuckled, Yeah, take control of my ship. He did want to regain control, but right now he wanted to take control of his mate.
Usla went to the replicator and ordered them drinks. “Computer, three royal Sisiu.”
She handed one mug to Krista and another to him.
“What is this?” he asked as he sniffed the drink.
She shrugged before taking a sip and then answered. “It’s the royals’ preferred brand of drink. Probably comparable to your Fire’s Breath.” She took another sip.
Kollin tried it, and it did remind him of Fire’s Breath. Just as he took another sip, he watched his mate take a big gulp and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Usla kept talking, and talking and talking. Did she ever do anything else but talk strategy? Was this a Siccia trait? Did they all do it? Maybe that’s what made them such great mercenaries.
“Excuse me, Princess. Could we possibly finish this conversation tomorrow?”
Usla looked startled as she looked at him and then to Krista, who wouldn’t look up. “Yes.” She stood, and he watched her retreating back as she headed for the door.
He watched as Usla left his chambers, the door sliding shut. “Finally,” he mumbled.
“Finally,” Krista mirrored his words.
Kollin didn’t waste any time as he quickly scooped his mate up and carried her to bed. He shed his jumpsuit first, letting her get a good look and then ripping hers off.
Long, silky, black hair fanned the pillow around her head. Her luscious pink lips look soft, delicate and inviting. High, perky breasts with dark nipples drew his attention as his gaze traveled down her perfect body. When he saw the small patch of hair covering the junction between her thighs, he wanted to find out what treasures it hid underneath. His shaft hardened painfully as he gazed at her.
He didn’t waste any time as he came down on top of her, kissing her moist lips before moving toward her ear, raining kisses down her neck. He licked and nipped every inch until his mouth found her right breast while his hand roamed her body. He felt the tuft of hair guarding the entrance before moving past it and thrusting one large finger deep inside. She gasped in surprise, but he didn’t stop as he kept up his slow thrust.
“Oh, God! That feels so good!” she moaned.
His tongue swirled around her breast until he looked up. Locking eyes with her, he inserted another finger and slowly pumped in and out, stretching her in the process.
“I’m going to cum,” she almost screamed.
Kollin watched Krista toss her head back and arch her hips, ecstasy etched on her face as she screamed out his name.
He couldn’t take it any longer. He withdrew his fingers and aligned his shaft with her entrance and surged forward. She moaned in response.
“Are you okay?” he asked as he held his breath and stilled his movements, which almost killed him to do. He couldn’t believe that his small mate could take him completely, but she had stretched to accommodate his enormous size.
“I am now,” she smiled as she relaxed for him.
He closed his eyes in relief, thankful to have a mate who could take him. His slow thrusts turned more frenzied as he took her hard. He marveled that she’d adjusted to his size, her moist, tight channel gripping his shaft. His pleasure was almost painful… almost. Before he roared out his release, he instinctively bent forward and sank his fangs deep into the soft tissue between her neck and shoulder, marking her as his mate and releasing more of his substance into her body. She was his!
She screamed out her release once more, loud enough that half the ship heard, before he followed behind her. His release felt never-ending as his shaft pulsed.
He rolled them onto their sides, and she whispered, “You bit me.”
“I did.”
He laid there in silence, enjoying the soft bed, the feel of his mate snuggled up to him as they both drifted off to much needed sleep.
Chapter Eleven
Krista
Waking up in a nice warm bed, Krista wiggled down in the covers a little more while she gathered them around her.
“Female, you must stop,” a deep, husky voice said, making her eyes pop open.
She became aware of several things at once. She was not alone in bed, and her butt was pressed against someone’s—not someone’s, Kollin’s—crotch. She could feel his massive erection as it pressed against her bottom.
Slowly rolling over, she came face to face with him, his eyes burning with desire. “Good morning,” she said with a contented smile.
“Good morning. Did you rest well?” She loved that he was being so polite and not assuming anything, especially after last night, when she had been so brazen.
“I did, actually.”
They lay there staring into each other’s eyes. The silence was very comfortable. Krista raised her hand to his face and traced every curve with her finger. He was a truly handsome… male, that’s what they called each other. Male and female.
“Do you really believe that I’m your mate?” she asked while tracing invisible lines across his face.
Kollin closed his eyes, and she knew he enjoyed her touch. When he slowly opened them again, he locked eyes with her and replied, “Yes.”
“I still don’t understand why, though.”
“Do you not feel the pull toward me?”
She did, very much so. But was that from her own desire or from something the Tureis did? Could she trust it? “I do, but…”
“The Tureis somehow extracted the chemical from my fangs and made you my mate. I didn’t like the thoughts of them choosing, but now—now, I would have chosen you myself. I did choose you last night,” he grinned.
“But why? You don’t even know me.”
He smiled, “I know enough. Many males on my planet take mates but never feel the pull toward them. Some of them come to care for each other, like my mother and father did, but they mate for many different reasons. Power. Attraction. Is it not that way on your planet?”
“Sometimes, yes. But most people marry because they fall in love. I always dreamed of marrying someone that I loved.”
“Could you not love me?” he asked with a quiet, almost whispered voice.
Could she love him? That was easy, yes! “I could. The problem is that we are from different worlds, with different cultures.”
“Tell me of yours.”
“I want a marriage like my parents had. They loved each other, confided in each other, and they were equals. They were not only in love; they were best friends.”
Kollin let out a deep breath before cupping her face in his massive hands. “Done. Yes, our cultures are different, but I’ve already told you that I don’t have consorts back home.”
“If you ever take one, I will leave.” She let him see the sincerity in her eyes, hear the truth in her voice.
“I understand,” he said with just as much sincerity.
She stared into his beautiful eyes as she thought about the situation. They were already mated in his culture, there was nothing back on Earth for her, and she did feel connected to him.
Her lips quirked when she spoke. “So, we’re married, huh?”
He grinned, “I guess we are.”
Krista stared into his dancing eyes a mere second longer before closing the gap to kiss him. When her tongue darted out, Kollin pulled back. “Why do you do that?” Her voice held a thread of hurt.
“You will cut your tongue on my fangs.”
“Oh.” She hadn’t thought of that. “We’ll work on that later,” she grinned as she tentatively placed her hand on his shoulder.
“I have
to have you,” he said in a guttural voice. He didn’t waste any time as he rolled her onto her back. He had been so gentle, but she loved his dominant nature. His forcefulness made her core cream with desire.
“Then take me,” she replied in a breathy tone. The sensations pulsing through her body were electrifying.
“I will.” His forceful voice dripped with lust, letting her know that he was in charge.
With his take-charge attitude, her core creamed even more, if that was possible. She believed in being equal in life, but having someone dominate her in the bedroom was a complete turn-on.
With her laid out like a buffet, Kollin’s eyes appraised her body with lust as his breathing became more and more ragged. His eyes never left her body as he knelt between her legs and spread her thighs wide. His hand slowly traveled toward her core, gently caressing the tender skin as he went. He pressed his thumb against her sensitive nub and then drew small tight circles. When Krista moaned and arched her hips, Kollin’s eyes shot to hers to watch her reaction. She was so close. When his large finger plunged deep inside, she bucked her hips wildly as pleasure rolled through her body.
“I have to have you,” he growled as he came up onto his knees and spread her thighs before plunging his shaft deep inside, seating himself to the hilt.
“Ohh,” she moaned and he froze.
“Are you okay?” he asked, concern marring his features.
“Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, now please move!”
She didn’t have to ask him twice. He started moving inside her, slowly at first and then picking up his pace. Pleasure unlike any she had ever known overtook her, and she cried out in ecstasy.
Kollin
Intense feelings flooded his body, and her moist tight channel gripped him. She was made for him, he was convinced of that. No female on Azziar could take his whole length. He briefly closed his eyes in relief, thankful that the last standard night wasn’t a dream and that he had a mate he could join with.
When she told him to move, he pounded into her like a dying male trying to take his last breath.
“Oh Kollin, you feel so good,” she said breathlessly. That drove him to an even harder pace, needing her to take everything he gave her. When he heard her cry out in release, her moans of pleasure sent him spiraling over the edge, and he followed behind her.
He wasn’t finished, though.
He pulled out and flipped her over, putting her on her hands and knees. As he placed his shaft at her entrance, he placed one hand on the back of her neck to hold her in place, and he swiftly entered her. He couldn’t take his eyes away as he watched his shaft disappear inside her. It was erotic to watch as he forcefully thrust inside as he joined with her. He heard her moans of pleasure as she took every standard inch of him.
“Does that feel good?” he asked.
“Yes, so good.”
“Do you like it slow?” he slowed down his pace and gentled his thrust, “or do you like it hard?” He slammed into her and reclaimed his rapid pace.
“Hard, I like it hard!” she cried out.
“Then take it hard,” he said as he slammed home once again. When she cried out in pleasure, he followed, shouting out her name.
Krista fell belly first onto the bed, while Kollin fell to her side. Now facing each other, they both grinned.
“I never knew how much I would like a dominant male in the bedroom.”
He chuckled, happy that he hadn’t scared her. He’d always liked things a certain way. That, along with his size, may have had something to do with the females not wanting to be his consort. Not that it mattered now. He had a mate.
“I’m glad.”
“You know, you might want to give up control sometimes,” she teased.
He laughed and rolled onto his back. “I doubt it.”
They were lying in bliss when the door swooshed open and Princess Usla came walking in. Kollin threw the covers over top of them and glared at Usla.
“Get out!” he growled as his voice dripped with distaste. He didn’t care if she was a princess. He was a prince, and she owed him more respect than that. This was a private moment between him and his mate.
Usla stopped. Taking in the scene, she muttered, “Sorry,” before turning on her heels and quickly leaving.
“I wonder what she wanted?” Krista asked.
“We will find out soon enough.” Trying to let go of the irritation, he said, “Let’s get ready, and we’ll have first meal together.” Krista’s chuckle lightened the mood and made him feel better.
Chapter Twelve
Krista
Krista didn’t want to get up. She’d just had the best sex of her entire life, and now she needed a nap. Kollin was made like Earth men, but there were ridges on his shaft that intensified her pleasure.
She knew she was falling for Kollin but didn’t know if it was a good or bad thing. In the past, Krista always fell hard and fast for the guys she dated. Alan had always called it a flaw, and maybe it was.
Thinking of Alan, she wished he could meet Kollin. She had a feeling that Alan would approve of him, or maybe it was just her wishful thinking.
“Are you going to lie there all day?”
“No,” she groaned. “I’m getting up.” She needed another shower, but her growling stomach made her change her mind. Food first, shower second.
She watched Kollin slide into another red jumpsuit as she donned her own. She quickly braided her hair and brushed her teeth. At least they had some form of toothbrush, even if it was different.
“Ready,” she proclaimed with a grin.
Kollin held out his hand, and she couldn’t help but stare before placing hers in his. How could two people be so different and it feel so right? She shook the thought from her head as they left their quarters for some food.
As they walked down the corridor, every alien they passed stared at her. She couldn’t help but flush under their stare, although she did stare back. They were hairless and had slightly conical heads. A wicked grin spread across her face, and she noticed Kollin kept glancing at her with concern.
She remembered an old movie called The Coneheads that she’d watched years ago, and she started singing.
“Sometimes, I feel I want to, ee ee, run away, I’ve got to ee ee get away…”
“What are you singing?” Kollin asked under his breath, and Krista burst out laughing.
“Nothing, sorry. It’s just a song from a movie I once watched. These aliens remind me of the movie.” He just shook his head and smiled.
Walking into the dining hall, all eyes turned to them. She tried to ignore it, but it was hard. They grabbed a tray and joined Usla for first meal.
“We’ve located the Conqueror,” Usla blurted out.
That sobered them both, and before Kollin could respond, Captain Loul joined them at the table.
“Tell me,” Kollin said as he shoved a piece of food into his mouth, his gaze roaming from one to the other while he chewed.
“They are four standard days from reaching Azziar, but we’ll intercept them in one.”
“You have something in mind?” Kollin asked.
“Of course. When we get in range, we’ll send three shuttlecrafts of mercenaries to help you reclaim your ship. We’ll work out all the details after first meal.” Captain Loul glanced at Krista. “She can stay with us until the fight is finished.”
Kollin glanced her way and then back to Captain Loul. “Thank you.”
Krista felt sick. She’d lost her brother recently, and now Kollin would be fighting. What if he was injured and couldn’t come back to her? What if he was killed? She glanced at him and knew she already cared for him a great deal and didn’t want to lose him.
She started silently gasping for air and hoped they didn’t notice. Her stomach churned with dread. She couldn’t lose anymore of her family, and glancing at Kollin, she knew that included him. Her heart couldn’t stand anymore. It took every ounce of willpowe
r she had not to dwell on Alan’s death, to put it behind her, but she knew he would want it that way.
She had no doubt that losing Kollin would be her breaking point. Tears filled her eyes as her stomach raged on. “Oh, God,” she murmured as she tore out of the dining room, her legs pumping as her feet pounded the metal floor. When she rounded the corner, she almost nailed an alien coming her way. He moved, and she never slowed her pace. She stopped abruptly in front of their quarters, the door opened and she dashed inside, heading for the bathing facilities, where she threw up in the commode. (At least that’s what she called it.)
She felt him standing behind her. How embarrassing, she thought as she dry-heaved into the commode once more.
“Are you all right, Krista?” Kollin asked as he gently raked her hair from around her face.
No, she wasn’t. For some reason, she was an emotional mess. “Yeah, I’m fine.” She stood, splashed water on her face and rinsed her mouth out before facing Kollin.
“Krista,” he said as he cupped her cheek, “are you sure you are okay?”
She saw his concern and gave him a half smile. “I’m fine. Really,” she said as she walked past him to the main living area.
He followed behind her with concern still etched on his face. He halted her steps by grabbing her arm. She stopped and then turned his direction without meeting his gaze.
“Krista,” he said as he pulled her to him, hugging her tight.
“I can’t lose you, too,” she sobbed as she threw her arms around his waist.
He smiled as he rested his chin on top of her head. “You are not going to lose me.”
“You can’t know that,” she said with her head resting on his chest.
“I do know that. I am feared by my people, and I have the help of the Siccia, who are the most feared fighters in the galaxy. We will be victorious.”
She wiped her eyes. “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I’m so emotional.”
“You’ve been through a lot lately.” He leaned back to peer into her eyes. “Let me have someone bring first meal to you.” He sighed with regret before continuing, “I have to meet with Captain Loul. We need to formulate a plan for when we reach my ship.”
