ABOUT THE AUTHOR
IAIN PEARS was born in 1955. Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, he has worked as a journalist, an art historian, and a television consultant in England, France, Italy, and the United States. He is the author of the international best seller An Instance of the Fingerpost, The Dream of Scipio, a series of highly praised detective novels, a book of art history, an opera libretto, and countless articles on artistic, financial, and historical subjects. He lives in Oxford, England.
Stone’s Fall is a work of historical fiction. Apart from the well-known actual people,
events, and locales that figure in the narrative, all names, characters, places, and
incidents are the products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any
resemblance to current events or locales, or to living persons, is entirely coincidental.
