“Put the weapon down and walk away.” She put all the authority she could muster into her words, but the man laughed and backed her against the wall.
He touched the blade to her throat. “I almost hope you keep protesting. I’d like to see you bleed.”
With no warning the man crumbled to his knees, the blade clattering to the floor, where it continued to hum. Lucy sucked in her breath and looked up.
Connor Langley stood a few feet away, gun still trained on the Vindo. Relief washed over her, and she let herself slump against the wall. “Thank you.”
He merely nodded as he squatted by the Vindo, checking for a pulse.
“Wh-what are you doing here?” Lucy asked when she had enough breath for words.
“Protecting you.” He kicked her attacker. The man groaned. “Move and I’ll kill you this time,” Langley growled.
Connor looked back at Lucy. “Did he hurt you?”
She shook her head. “How did you know I needed help?”
“Ian saw this asshole leaving your office, spewing shit from his foul mouth, and asked me to check up on him.” Connor extracted two zipcuffs from his jacket and secured the Vindo’s hands and feet.
Lucy still couldn’t quite believe Connor was here. “I thought you’d left hours ago.”
“I refused to leave when I realized this asshole was still on the station.”
Lucy was shocked. “You stayed for me?”
Langley growled. “You are ours.”
A sound distracted her from responding. She looked up to see Ian entering the corridor at a run. He glanced from her to Langley and then to the body at their feet. “Is everyone OK?”
Langley nodded. Ian looked at Lucy. She met his gaze and felt time freeze. She’d never imagined she’d see fear reflected there, but that’s exactly what met her gaze. “Ian?”
Before he spoke, Ian glanced at Connor who nodded, something she didn’t understand clearly passing between them. Ian took a long slow breath. “We need you.”
Lucy’s heart pounded. She didn’t know what to say. She’d felt the intensity of their connection the day before, and it had scared the hell out of her. She was afraid of her strong feelings for them, of how much she wanted to see them again, to fuck them again -- to be a part of them. “But I…”
Ian held up a hand. “We would never ask you to leave the market, but you know what happened between us yesterday was more than a casual fuck.”
Lucy nodded. “Y-you were supposed to leave.” Her voice shook. She still couldn’t believe they’d stayed just because she might be in danger.
Langley pulled her into his arms, stroking her hair the way she would pet a cat. “We would never leave you when you needed us.”
She reached up and cupped his chin, rubbing her thumb across his cheek, amazed once more by how damn beautiful he was. “Thank you.” She stood on tiptoe, and kissed his lips gently. He groaned, wrapping his arms around her and deepening the kiss. His tongue tangled with hers, and she rubbed herself against him as heat stabbed at her core.
By the time he pulled back from the kiss, she was panting. He caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. “You are ours. If you need us, call and we will come, no matter what. Do you understand?” The last words were distorted by the growl in his voice. Her gaze rose from his full lips to his eyes. As she suspected, they were the eyes of a panther.
Ian stepped close behind her and circled her waist with his arms. She leaned back into him, wriggling her ass against his cock, which began to harden under her attention. He put his mouth by her ear. “My instincts may not be as primitive as Langley’s, but I’ve claimed you all the same. We’ve been looking for a woman who could handle us both for a long time. Now that we’ve found you, we’re not letting you go.”
Lucy nodded, feeling once again as if she were in a dream. Intellectually she thought she should protest such a high-handed statement. They couldn’t stake their claim on her like she was a choice piece of G’Daklian prairie. But she wanted them as badly as they seemed to want her. She’d spent every waking moment since they’d left her office thinking about them and reliving the amazing emotions that had run through her as they pleasured her, emotions deeper than mere lust. She’d never dreamed they wanted her in such a primal way. No way in hell was she going to turn this chance down.
She smiled up at Langley and then turned to capture Ian’s gaze. “I accept your claim.”
Langley pulled her to him until her head rested against his chest. Ian put his arms around them both, pressing his now fully erect cock into the seam of her ass. “I wish we could seal our partnership, but we truly must go. We’ll be on the Cerian homeworld for a few weeks. When we return, I promise to bring you a very special surprise, one you’ll learn to both love and hate.”
Lucy gasped. “You don’t mean you’re going to buy a -- a Cerian sex table, do you?” She’d heard about the famed tables that could pleasure or torment a person in myriad ways with nothing more than a voice command.
Ian laughed. “Oh yes, we would.”
