Tell the Story to Its End Page 15

by Simon P. Clark

This seems like a good chance to do just that.

I dedicated this book to my grandma, who died a few months before it was published, but I still want to recognise and thank my very patient friends and family.

Mum and Dad taught me to read, to love stories, and to ask questions.

Becky and Sarah put up with me and became friends as well as sisters (and Sarah was, and always will be, Eren’s very first reader).

Ashley, my wife, is probably the best person I know, and the little things she did, as well as her impressively unfailing support, mean a lot more than I can say.

Molly, my agent, and Sarah, my editor, are very clever people to whom I will always feel indebted.

Everyone at Constable & Robinson works very hard and sometimes it’s scary seeing quite how brilliant they can be.

I don’t want to bore you, so I’ll stop there. There’ll always be more people to thank, but I’ll leave that for another book.

There’ll always be more books, you know. There’ll always be more stories.
