Echo (The Remote Traveler Series Book 3) Page 21

by Finian Blake

“While we were gloating about fucking Boris, he was fucking us. While we were downloading this shit he hacked us, and it will be a few days until I discover exactly what he was doing in our stuff. I believe that the magicians call it misdirection.” Henry slammed his hand down on the desk. “I told you not to screw with Boris!”

“Hacking is a criminal offense we can take them to court for damages.” Salvador growled.

“Are you going to tell the FBI that while we were hacking them they hacked us,” Henry exclaimed not believing his ears. “Do you want them looking in our files to prove the hack?”

A light of realization clicked on in Salvador’s head. “Check the files that we cloned from Hall Shipbuilding.” Henry’s hands flew across the key board several times.

“We are locked up until the download is complete it’s using all of the I/O resources,” Henry said not trying to hide the desperation in his voice. “I set up the clone’s program, so that they are locked together until the download is complete. If we shut down, it will just pick up where the program stopped. The only thing that I can do is set up a server to dump everything that comes to it, but then we will dump everything that comes in including our customers’ inputs. This system was never setup to clone a mainframe.”

“You set the computer up just like you did the others,” Salvador said in desperation. “Blow it now.”

“Did you think that we would sit back and do nothing,” Nadia’s voice came out of the back of the room. In their excitement neither Salvador nor Henry noticed Nadia and Ted slip into the room.

“What the fuck,” Salvador screamed. “Where in the hell is my security.”

“They are taking a nap,” Ted said with a heavy Scott’s accent holding up a tranquilizer gun. “If you move to blow that computer, I will ruin the rest of your life. If you sit down and behave I will have Boris shut down the ‘universe’.” Salvador and Henry seated themselves and Ted made a call on his satellite phone.

“Boris shut down the ‘Universe’.” As Ted spoke the screens on the wall all went blank.

“What the hell is the universe,” Salvador demanded.

“We have loaded sixteen large racks with every useless bit of information from all over the world. If one of our clients are hacked, or cloned the ‘Universe’ will download on to the offending computer. We have also removed all of the Hall Shipbuilding files that you hacked. If you hack them again we will not stop the download.”

“You can’t…,” Salvador started to say when Henry put his hand on his arm.

“Salvador, it could have been much worse.”

“That’s right,” Nadia said, “Those mercenaries that you sent came within a few feet of my daughter the other day. If they had even touched one hair on her head, we would not be having this conversation.”

“And now you are going to threaten me,” Salvador snapped.

“No,” Nadia said as she reached between Salvador’s legs squeezing his genitals viciously, dropping Salvador to his knees with a painful gasp. “I came for this. We don’t make threats, but then you will have to imagine what will happen next.”

“How am I supposed to know what you want,” Salvador gasped.

“You will stop sending probes to raid us, you will stop hacking our clients and none of your people will ever come within a mile of our children.”

“You can’t push me around,” Salvador said defiantly.

“Boris, continue,” Nadia said into the phone. She gave Salvador’s balls a violent twist causing him to scream and curl into a ball. Nadia and Ted were out sight by the time he was able to open his eyes.

“You were a big fucking help,” Salvador screamed at Henry holding his crotch.

“Did you see that giant with her,” Henry said desperately. “Even if he hadn’t been holding a gun, I would not have tried him.” Salvador’s attention turned to the computer screen which was flashing data at an insane rate. “I think they wanted to show you that they don’t make threats.”

“Never mind that, how do we stop this?”

“It was stopped until you shot your mouth off,” Henry said sarcastically. All of a sudden the screen went blank and a few seconds later a message displaying an international number appeared on the screen, ‘CALL ME’.

“Boris, would you please release our computer,” Henry said trying hard not to sound totally desperate. Salvador opened his mouth to say something with Henry placing his hand over Salvador’s mouth.

“Can we be friends,” Boris said using his best Russian accent. “I don’t want to attack your business, but we will not ignore any more attacks by Salvador. The Russians that you hired will not be in touch ever again.”

“What have you done with them,” Salvador asked cautiously.

“I do not make threats or brag,” Boris said with a chill in his voice while maintaining his accent. “I can just say with confidence that they will never contact you again. Henry I would like to know how you could ask that question when you killed Dimitri.”

“I killed him,” Henry exclaimed his question.

“Look at the police report. Dimitri was killed when the screen of his computer exploded,” Boris said dropping the accent. “They have not traced the computer to you, but I recognize the programing.” All of a sudden the screens went blank. “I have returned your computer to your control please don’t make another example necessary.

“Boris you…” Henry’s hand clamped over Salvador’s mouth, before he could finish what he was saying.

“Thank you Boris,” Henry said dragging Salvador out of the room.

Boris laughed as he watched Henry dragging the irate Salvador out of camera range. Nadia and Ted’s brief encounter had unnerved both men completely. He dialed Nadia’s satellite number.

“I think that you have made a real impression on Henry, but I believe that the building would have to fall in on Salvador for him to get the message.”

“That can be arranged,” Nadia laughed. “If anyone comes within sight of my daughter, I will put through a message that cannot be ignored.” She and Ted moved down to the basement placing magnesium based charges on all of the transformers and acid based devises on all of the fiber optics.

“This way we won’t have to return if that idiot decides not to listen,” Ted said quietly as he wired in the remote. “Salvador may be book smart, but he is life dumb. I think that he is already planning something.”

“Do you really think that he is that dumb,” Nadia asked as she closed and locked the final panel.

“I don’t know about his intelligence, but he is that arrogant to be sure,” Ted Smiled. “You better figure out what you are going to do.”

“He is ours with this setup,” Nadia laughed holding up the remote. “I would prefer something more subjective. We will wait until Salvador tries something.”

“I don’t think that you will have to wait long. Salvador is as arrogant as they get,” Ted sounded worried.

“Then I had better brief the girls and have Eden shadow them instead of going back to Winnie. She is young enough to hang with them. Have her dress “Little Girl’.” Nadia opened the door of the electrical vault slipping out quickly with Ted close behind.

All of the computer screens went suddenly blank causing Henry a moment of panic. He rushed to the console wondering if they had run out of capacity sighing with relief when he found out that there was 15% left.

“That was close Boris left us enough room to keep receiving customer data. If he wanted to Boris could have finished the job.” Henry took a few minutes to evaluate the situation, “I believe that was a warning shot. It will take me about a week to delete that load plus another week to search out anything that he might have planted in the system. He might have dropped something in the inbound information of the customers.”

“What if we delete everything that came in over the last few hours,” Salvador asked.

“That would do it, but we do have some customers transmitting sensitive informat
ion.” Henry said tentatively.

“Fuck them” Salvador barked, “We have critical issues to deal with too.”

“This will erase any traceable routes that Boris used to get in.” Henry cringed at the cold stare that came from Salvador.

“He got in through William’s damned lap top. You need to block that cloning program.” Salvador’s voice cracked into a screech.

“Don’t blame me,” Henry growled defensively. “You are the one that wanted to clone their computer without knowing what they had. I told you not to hack them, Boris is one of the best and it is obvious that before we try anything else we need to find out what they have. If he wanted to Boris could have hit us with Chernobyl.”

“Hit us with a Russian City,” Salvador exclaimed.

“Chernobyl is his signature,” Henry scoffed. “I thought that you had some computer back ground!”

“I have skills,” Salvador said defensively.

“Even amateurs know about that one,” Henry continued to scoff. “That one causes the complete melt down of anything that it hits including anything that is networked with it. Boris could have fried our computers and our client’s computers with one key stroke.”

“It sounds like you are making him out to be some kind of a computer god. I thought that you were the best,” Salvador said with distain.

“He offered me a job and I turned him down, because you offered me creative control,” Henry said bringing his voice down to a level of normal conversation. “Boris not only writes his own programs. He designs computer circuits. He hired most of the people that I wanted, plus the phantom bad guys.”

“Phantom bad guys,” Salvador sounded baffled.

“Yes people that are so good that nobody has ever heard of them.” Henry could not hide the awe in his voice.

“What the fuck are you talking about,” Salvador exclaimed.

“Hackers, that are so good that nobody has ever caught on to them.”

“Well how does he find them?”

“Mutual admiration,” Henry said the awe still in his voice. “Everybody leaves signatures and if you know how to read their work you can recognize who it is. Boris knew that I setup that laptop just by the way that it was programed. He could have given my name to the police, but never did.”

  “So what does that mean?”

“This was Boris’s way of telling us to back off.”

“Well he does not scare me,” Salvador did not like the sound of awe in Henry’s voice.

“Well they scare the shit out of me,” Henry said. “That Amazon didn’t come here for tea, and that wasn’t your hand she was shaking.”

“She caught me by surprise,” Salvador said defensively rubbing himself reflexively at the memory of being lifted off of his feet by his genitals. “That big redhead didn’t do a thing he is probably a big pussy using his size to bluff people out.”

“Are you kidding me,” Henry exclaimed his question. “His biceps are as big as my thighs. If he was bluffing I am going to buy it. He could pinch off my head, spit down my neck, and never break a sweat. I want your word that you will not test either one of them.”

“All right don’t get your panties in a bunch,” Salvador said mockingly as Henry typed in the delete command.

“There, all you have to do is press the enter button,” Henry said as he moved away from the keyboard.

“Why don’t you do it,” Salvador protested.

“Two days from now I don’t want to hear you bitching about what I did. All of the commands are in and all you have to do is enter.”

“Pussy,” Salvador growled pushing the enter key forcefully.

“You are what you eat,” Henry said over his shoulder as he opened the door.

“And what do you think that I eat,” Salvador demanded.

“Dope…” came the answer through the closing door. Salvador balled his hand into a fist and struck the keyboard three times breaking it.

Felicia watched Boris as he typed in the last few commands into the keyboard. He was howling with laughter and clapping his hands together.

  “What did you do?”

“I took an upstart to school,” Boris said wiping the tears from his eyes. “Let me assure you that I have erased all of your information both business and personal from their computers. It seems that Titan Shipyards had purchased the information from Ardent Computers. I have erased it all leaving a little trap behind.”

  “And what would that be?”

“I left Chernobyl which will be triggered by a re-hack,” Boris said beaming with pride.

“Do you mean the nuclear disaster,” Felicia asked.

“If they don’t try to hack you again they will not have any problems, but if they do they will have a complete melt down.” Boris’s calm certainty inspired both Felicia and Paul.

“So what are you looking at charging us for this,” Paul asked uncertainly.

“This exercise was a pleasure, so there is no charge for the demonstration,” Boris said brightly. “Cherry and Nadia were looking for just the right lesson for Salvador and you provided that. We will call this a demonstration.”

“If you choose our services you may do it as a customer or a cooperative,” Rhonda said continuing the proposal from the back of the room. “You have talents and assets that would be a good fit with us. We have several companies that cooperate with each other sharing services and assets denying our competition of their efforts.”

“Doesn’t she ever talk,” Felicia indicated Cherry who was leaning against the wall sipping a cocktail.

“I am the managing director and handle the business arrangements,” Rhonda said calmly. “You will find Cherry quite talkative when we conclude our business.”

“Whether you use Boris’s computers or Tom’s security services, I will coordinate the deals.” Cherry decided to enter the conversation, “I never undercut our people. Whoever has the responsibility has the say, Rhonda conducts our business so any agreement that you reach with her will be kept.”

“We hold 30% of your stock and 60% of Titan’s stock,” Rhonda resumed the negotiation. “If you are successful we will make a shit load of money, so we will provide those things that will make you successful.”

“Does that include the test tank program on the computer,” Felicia asked.

“We also will help you secure your computers and supply physical security if you feel the need.”

“What else do you have your fingers into,” Felicia pressed.

“Finance,” Cherry entered the conversation. “We have instant finance, so if the deal looks good all we need is your promise of cooperation.”

“What kind of a contract are you looking for,” Felicia asked.

“All we need is your word that you will not oppose the deal,” Rhonda resumed the negotiation. “Your company will be saved, and Titan will merge with you as the senior partner. All of the stock holders will be protected. Wayne Haggard will be out but he will make a shit load of money due to the amount of stock that he currently holds. The real upside is that we will help you land the international orders for the transport. Australia, New Zeeland, Philippines, Japan, Germany, England, France and Italy have already expressed interest.”

“I believe that you have a deal,” Paul said extending his hand to Rhonda with her taking it warmly and moving to Felicia giving her more than a sisterly hug.

“So, how does it work with a husband and a wife,” Felicia asked seductively.

“Things are complicated, but always interesting,” Rhonda purred.

“Paul keeps asking me if I am interested in other women,” Felicia put a childish tone in her voice.

Rhonda led Felicia and Paul to the luxury suite swaying seductively down the hall in the lead. Cherry followed Felicia and Paul. She opened the large double doors wide to a spacious living room with comfortable furniture. Paul instantly noted the bear skin rug on the extra thick carpet. Rhonda walked over to the bar opening a Magnum of Champaign pouring four
flutes handing each person a flute. As Paul started to drink Rhonda put her fingers under the stem forcing him to drink the glass down nonstop after which she filled his glass to the brim.

“Chery show Felicia the closet while Paul and I get acquainted,” Rhonda purred. Cherry put her arm around Felicia’s waist escorting her in to the next room. As they walked in the room Felecia could not help noticing the four posts of the king sized bed which dominated the room. Along the walls were two large dressers which extended the full length of each wall. Cherry walked up to one of the dressers opening all of the drawers across the top row.

“I believe that you will find your correct size in here,” Cherry said as she moved to another drawer pulling a selection of lingerie out for herself casually undressing as Felicia studied her selections.

The door opened just a crack without betraying the interior of the room. Cherry helped Paul out of his chair seductively pulling him to the door.

“It’s time you learned the ropes. Paul thought that his erection would rip his pants. Cherry guided him over to the four poster bed backing him to one of the posts at the foot of the bed. She grabbed him by the ears plunging her tongue deep into his mouth exploring boldly. When Paul reciprocated Cherry held his tongue between her teeth pushing him backwards to one of the bed posts. Suddenly a pair of hands came out of nowhere tying his hands securing him to the post. Cherry released his tongue stroking his cheek.

“This is a lesbian experience and you won’t pass the physical,” Rhonda whispered in his ear handing a blindfold to Felicia.

“Sorry dear I couldn’t possibly do it in front of you. The good news is that Rhonda talked me into letting you listen,” Felicia said playfully. “You were the one who suggested I get it on with other women.” Paul could feel his pants being pulled down to his knees as strange hands started to play with his nipples and a very large breast was pressed to his mouth.

“We are not going to gag you because begging turns us on,” Cherry said as Paul’s face started to turn red due to a lack of oxygen. It was two hours of cries, grunts and groans before they released Paul, removing the blindfold giving him release.

Paul awoke with a start because he could not breathe. He pushed the obstruction away finding that it was one of Cherry’s breasts. Cherry smiled down at him holding her nipple to his lips.
