She had to look at him again as she headed into the bedroom to retrieve her coat. The eighteen-year-old Brody never would have thought that far ahead. She had a lot to learn about Brody the man.

Once dressed, she waltzed out. “I’m ready.”

When they arrived in Pleasure, they had to park two blocks away. “Looks like the whole town is here.”

He opened her passenger-side door and helped her out. This new Brody was a little unnerving. The abrupt, angry Brody was easier to deal with. She didn’t need him to get into her heart any further than he already was.

The few tables that were set up were off to the side to allow for more space for dancing. Most of the tables were already occupied. The server led them to a table in the back. A bottle of her favorite wine was already there. Brody held out the seat for her.

“You don’t have to be such a gentleman.” It made it difficult to know his agenda. He acted like he was interested in trying to win her over and was hoping she’d invite him to join in the threesome. Her head spun.

His smile lasered a hole straight to her heart. He poured their wine and lifted his glass in a toast. “To your happiness.”

What an odd thing to say. “Here’s to your happiness, too.”

They touched their glasses then ordered their meals. “So how are you handling having two men in your life?”

She thought they’d had this discussion. The table next to them was less than four feet away. “I’m not sure that’s any of your business.”

“Sure it is.” He leaned forward. “We all want what’s best for you. Who wouldn’t want three men to love her?”

“Shh.” She looked around, but no one seemed to be paying attention. “I haven’t gotten used to two yet, so can we not talk about this?”

He grinned. “You’re right. You’d rather have me show you.”

“You are so out of control.”

Fortunately, another businessman came up to the table and occupied Brody for a minute, giving her time to get her act together. Had someone dosed the water in Pleasure while she’d been gone? These men were crazy.

Their food arrived, and she focused on eating rather than getting into the awkward discussion of making love to three men. She wouldn’t have to worry about it for long. Once Brody found out he’d almost been a dad, he’d go ballistic and all would be lost. Tonight she was determined to break the bad news to him, but for the next few hours, she planned to enjoy herself.

Once the server took away their meals, Brody pushed back his chair. The band was playing a slow tune. “May I have this dance?”

The one thing she and Brody did well was dance. She loved the way he used to hold her and move with the music. It was as if every time they were on the dance floor, he was mentally making love to her.

She could hardly say she didn’t want to. “Is your leg up to the task?” Every once in a while she caught him limping.

“If I only had one leg, I’d find a way to be with you.”

How could she turn down a man like that? “Let’s have at it.”

He led her over to the middle of the dance floor where the space was limited. He drew her near. His pine-scented aftershave altered her thinking. Like a vampire to her prey, her body was drawn to him. The urge to kiss him nearly undid her. She wanted him like she’d wanted Sparks and Evan.

  Don’t succumb.

Brody moved like he was born to dance. He was easy, smooth, and seductive. His hand cupped the back of her head and leaned her against his shoulder. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and images of all the good times flooded her. As he moved her backward, forward, and around in a circle, his hip pressed into hers. His erection seemed to grow with each sway. She should have told him right now that she’d committed herself only to Evan and Sparks, but the words wouldn’t come out. In her heart, she knew she had to end their time together tonight, and her stomach ached.

It was almost like they were at the prom again. Couples were engrossed in each other, and the music was made for loving. No sooner had the music ended when the next song began. This one was a faster number.

She hadn’t danced in years, but Brody must have been practicing. He led her around the floor like a professional. Who’d have thought he’d be so competent? After five songs, her feet hurt and she was a little out of breath.

She leaned close. “Can we take a break?”

  “Sure.”

They’d saved their table, but with the noise level so high, there was little opportunity to talk. A few of their high school buddies came over and tried to carry on a conversation, but the shouting made her voice hoarse.

Brody stood and stretched out his hand. “Let’s get out of here.”

She grabbed her coat, and they threaded their way out. The air was cold but welcome after being in the hot room. Sweat had even beaded on her forehead. Halfway back to her car, she tossed on her jacket.

He said nothing until they were seated in the car. He pulled into the road. “You have fun tonight?”

  “It was like old times.”

“There was magic in the air.”

When had he become so sentimental? Perhaps she ought to stop comparing the man she thought she knew with the one before her. Other than the anger she’d experienced when she first ran into him, he’d become a lot nicer toward her.

Wait until he learned the truth. All that sweetness would disappear.

When they arrived at her cabin, she expected him to give her a sweet kiss good-night and head on home. Instead, he took the key from her hands and led her inside. “I could use some coffee if you’ve got any.”

  “Sure.”

She brewed coffee for him but boiled water for herself. She was in the mood for a calming herbal blend of tea.

He came into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around her waist. “I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed our time together.” He kissed her neck and her body melted.

“I hope you’re okay with instant.”

She wasn’t ready to address the electric pulses racing down her body attacking her pussy. Between Evan and Sparks, she’d had enough sex to last a lifetime, so why was her body begging for more? Because it was Brody.

He twisted her around and kissed her. His lips were soft but demanding. As if on autopilot, she opened her mouth to let him in. He tasted of Merlot. Maybe it was the way his eyes half closed or how he stroked her face when he kissed her, but she could feel his love pour through her.

The kettle behind her whistled, and she pulled back. She licked her lips.

Brody pulled two cups from the cabinet. How he knew where to look was anyone’s guess. “How do you like your new freezer?”

She hadn’t had time to stock it. “When I get snowed in, it’ll be my lifesaver.”

“You need cream or sugar in your tea?”

He liked his coffee black, unlike his twin, who seemed addicted to sugar. “Nothing, thanks.”

She dropped the tea bag into the steaming cup, and he carried both drinks into the living room.

  “Got any music?”

“You trying to tempt me into bed?” Now why had she put that thought to words?

He laughed. “I plan on succeeding, not just trying.”

  Tell him.

She brought the tea to her lips and watched him give her a once-over as if he was deciding what to do first. She expected him to take the cup from her hands and start kissing her. Wrong again. He leaned back and blew on his coffee. After he drank some, he got up, walked over to the television, and turned it on.

“You have a show in mind?”

  “The music channel.”

She didn’t even know the stations here yet. In California, she hadn’t the time to search what was available either. To her surprise, he put on classical music. The Brody of old loved rock. She had a lot to learn about this new man.

He came up to the sofa and held out his hands. She put her cup on the coffee table and stood. Without a word, he pulled her close and started dancing. “I love wh
en I hold you in my arms.”

The passion in his tone nearly undid her. She rested her head against his shoulder and let her mind relax. She didn’t have to worry about where to put her feet. He led her around the living room with such grace she felt like she was floating on air. She was so caught up in the euphoric sensations that when he lifted her in his arms, it was almost like they were still dancing.

Only when he placed her on the bed did she realize they were horizontal, entangled in each other’s arms.

“I want you, Brittany Davenport. Always have, always will.”

She inhaled his words and let his tender kisses soothe every ache she’d had in her life. He carefully took off her shoes and socks and set them in the corner.

She’d expected his actions to be frantic. Instead, he seemed to be savoring everything about the seduction. Her mind warred. She wanted to tell him now, but to do so would end the chance to make love to him this one last time. She admitted she was being selfish and held out hope that he would forgive her youthful indiscretion.

Needing to live in the moment, she undid the buttons on his shirt. When she exposed his chest, her pulse raced. She ran her fingers from his neck to his waistband, loving the feel of the muscles and sinew under her fingertips. “Nice.”

“I’m glad you still find me attractive.” He returned the favor by lifting off her blouse. His pupils dilated.

She was in a hurry. “Take off your shoes.”

As he kicked them off, she unsnapped his jeans and lowered his zipper. Her gaze latched onto what would appear. Sure enough, his hard cock sprang out.

“Oh, my.” He and Evan matched in size.

She was admiring him while he took off her jeans. She couldn’t reach his hips to tug on his pants. When hers floated to the ground she sat up to strip him naked, but he beat her to it.

Dressed in her bra and panties, she lay back down. He picked up the silk scarf she’d worn and trailed the long material between her breasts and through her legs. The feathery movement tickled and soothed at the same time.

  “I wanted you all naked.”

The aggressor took over and he flung off her panties and unhooked her bra in seconds. With one hand, he lifted her hands above her head. A split second later, he had her hands tied together.

  “Brody? What are you doing?”

He attached the scarf to the headboard railing. “Doing what I should have done a week ago. Claiming you as mine.”

When his mouth captured her breast, all thoughts of denying him fled. His hands were magic and his mouth divine. He trailed kisses down her throat and between her breasts. She wanted him to suckle her again.

“Brit, I’ve dreamed of this for so long.”

Who could deny a man so full of passion? “Me, too.” And that wasn’t a lie. Being with Brody felt so right, so good.

He slipped a leg over her body to straddle her and threaded his hands through her hair. His kiss was so soft, their lips barely met. It was as if she were some fragile piece of glass and he didn’t want her to break. He slid lower and once again sucked on her nipples while his hands traced a line down her arms.

“I want to touch you,” she begged.

“No. I couldn’t last if your hands got anywhere near my cock.”

Did all the men in town have a hair trigger? What was it going to take to really feast on one of them? When she’d sucked on Sparks’s cock, she’d stopped short.

He slid between her legs, spread them wide, and held her thighs far apart. His tongue attacked first.

“Oh, my God.” Her pussy gushed with her fluids. His wicked tongue knew every sensitive spot. The man remembered after all these years.

When he slid two fingers into her, she bucked off the sheets. Every lick and suck weakened her will to resist him.

“I can’t wait any longer.” He’d thought to bring a condom with him. He slipped it on over his cock and hovered over her.

She closed her eyes, wanting all of her senses to be concentrated on the moment of entry. He dipped into her then stopped. Her eyes popped open.

“I want you to look at me when I make love to you.”

His lids were half-closed, and his command was so forceful she had to obey. He leaned close as if to kiss her, but held himself a little out of reach. She wanted to run her hands over his body, but with her damned hands tied, he’d denied her the pleasure.

Inch by inch, he slid into her. The sensuous way he eased in heightened every sensation. When he lowered his head to kiss her, his cock drove in deeper. Her breath caught. She arched her back to press her breasts closer to his chest. She wanted full-on body contact.

He pulled back. “Breathe. Take your time.”

What did that mean? He was the one in complete control. “I want it faster.”

His grin nearly reached his ears. “Not yet.”

He was going to torture her. She just knew it. Lifting her head, she stole a kiss before he slid his lips down to her neck and over to her ear. He nibbled her lobe, and sparks of excitement blasted her. His scent mixed with hers, and her climax built.

“Let my hands go. I have to touch you.”

With one pull of the cloth she was free. Like a greedy animal, she ran her hands over his face and down his back until she reached his muscled ass. Pressing him toward her, she pumped upward to meet him. A frenzied urge took over like never before. She’d do anything to keep him stroking her pussy.

His eyes squeezed shut and she let the rhythm regain her soul. Her fingers kneaded his broad shoulders as she met each thrust with one of her own until he was forced to go faster. He grabbed her waist and drove into her over and over until his grunts turned louder.

His mouth captured hers and it was like all the years she’d been gone had disappeared. They were young again, so hungry for each other that nothing existed in the world.

“Oh, Brit. I’ve missed this.” His words came out in pants.

“Me, too.” This was what had comprised her dreams for so many years.

His hands roamed over her body, exciting every inch of her. She came alive. He finally seemed to lose control and drove into her with all his might.

Blood rammed through her veins until her climax slammed into her so hard, she lost her breath for a moment. His cock expanded to twice the size and he held still until the wave passed and his warm jism spurted into the condom.

Neither moved for minutes until his cock slowly deflated.

“That was earth-shattering.” She’d probably said the same thing to Evan and Sparks, but the sentiment was the same. All three men had changed her life. She’d never felt so cherished as when she was with them.

He slid next to her and drew her near. Between the hectic day, the dancing, and the sex, her body finally succumbed to sleep.

  Brody nudged her awake.

The room was still dark, so it couldn’t have been morning. “What?”

He began to kiss her everywhere while he stroked her breasts and her pussy. The urges she’d had when he first touched her came flooding back.

  “Brody?”

  “I need you, babe.”

When he touched her pussy, she knew the time had come. “Brody.”

He pulled back. “What? Did I hurt you?”

She leaned over and clicked on the bedside lamp. The clock read 4:00 a.m. “No, but we need to talk.”

He went back to nuzzling her neck. “Talking is highly overrated.”

“Not this time. I have to tell you why I left you, and why I left Pleasure and never contacted anyone.” Her throat was dry, but her hands moist.

He leaned back. Worry laced his eyes. “You went away to college and never got my letters. What more is there?”

She inhaled. She needed to just spit it out and not delay the agony. “I was pregnant with our child, and my parents kicked me out.”

He sat there for a moment and stared at her as if he didn’t understand the words. “Why didn’t you tell me?” His voice cracked.

  Why,
indeed? “I couldn’t. My grandmother took me in. If I’d made contact, I don’t know what she would have done.”

“Didn’t you think you should have told me? You owed me that much.” He moved away from her as if he was repulsed.

“I wanted to tell you, but I knew you’d insist on marrying me. I never wanted to get married out of obligation. It might have ruined your life.”

His jaw hardened and his eyes narrowed. “Where is my baby?”

“He died in childbirth.” Her throat closed up at the image of the nurse telling her the sad truth.

“I had a son?” He dropped back onto the bed and stabbed a hand in his hair.

Before she could explain any more, he jumped off the bed and tugged on his clothes.

A streak of panic ripped through her. “Where are you going?”

  “Away. I need to think.”

“It’s the middle of the night.”

He glared back at her and stomped out. The door slammed a moment later. Dear God, she’d lost him for good. She knew the possibility existed that something like this was going to happen, but she’d hoped time had healed him.

Not only had she lost Brody, but what would this do to Sparks and Evan, who so wanted all four of them to be together?

  Chapter Thirteen

Brody wasn’t sure whether he wanted to leave Pleasure for good or cry because his son had died. To think he’d never gotten to feel the baby’s heartbeat through her belly.

Getting as far from her as possible seemed the best solution.

Maybe what pissed him off the most was the fact she never had the guts to tell him the truth. Given the then-strained relationship between her and her mom, she should have told her parents to fuck off.

He would have taken care of her. How they would have survived had the baby lived, he didn’t know, but they would have found a way. His parents were more open-minded. They wouldn’t have tossed him out, which meant he still might have gotten an education even if he had to give up that football scholarship. But would he have blamed her for not getting the chance at going pro?

He was eighteen, for God’s sake, and just a kid. Shit. Maybe what happened was for the best, but at the least, she should have told him about the baby when they first met. Evan must not have known about her pregnancy or he would have said something. If he always knew and kept it a secret, there would be hell to pay.
