“If I’m seeing double,” she said breathlessly, “why are each of you wearing different clothes?”
“I’ll ask again because I can tell that you’re in pain. Who hurt you and where can we find him?” the hot guy on the right asked, his face a mask of anger that was only personified by the eerie glowing of his brilliant blue eyes.
Klarissa opened her mouth to answer in the exact moment her legs turned to water beneath her. The ground rushed up toward her, and she had the very real knowledge that she was going to hit hard, but just as she was about to make contact, she was caught in two strong arms. She cried out when her savior pressed against the bruises that ran up and down her ribs, and she was lowered to the ground gently.
“Suuway, damn it, you’re really hurt.”
Klarissa could feel the darkness of what she hoped was only unconsciousness rushing toward her. “You need t-to tell the A-alpha. Something’s coming.”
Two handsome faces leaned over her, staring down at her with concerned expressions. “What’s coming, waan jai?”
“Death. Death is coming, and I am its creator.”
Unable to resist, she fell into the forgiving arms of the darkness that swept around her and knew no more.
