The Sinful Count Page 5

by Amaya Evans

In that moment Angustias realized that he was still hurt, and that he didn’t believe in love. If he had fallen in love with someone he still wouldn’t feel that pain deep inside him, but he hadn’t managed to find someone to shake his world, to change his way of seeing things.

Secretly, she wished that she would be the one to make Isaac fall deeply in love with her. So much that he would forget about his past.

  CHAPTER 6

Angustias was finishing her bath while Juliette, her maid, ironed her dress on the first floor. They had been invited to attend the birthday of the wife of one of the landowners. Angustias wasn´t a fan of social events but Isaac told her it was a good idea to go. The landowner was an influential man, and it was also a way of returning all the kindness Angustias had received. The best way of doing this was to attend the party and then create an event they could invite them to. Angustias prepared herself to attend the event.

Two hours later, they arrived at their host’s house. The atmosphere was happy and festive. Some people danced and talked animatedly. While the others ate until full. The landowner’s wife approached Angustias, and they talked for a while.

“Lady Beaufort, we are so honored to have you as a guest.”

“We are happy to be here, Mrs. Ludlow. It is a wonderful party. Everybody is having fun.”

“Thank you. My husband insisted on celebrating my birthday. I was not sure at first. You know that after a certain age us women prefer to keep our age a secret. But you know how stubborn men can be and he insisted so much that I could not say no in the end.”

“My dear, you don’t need to hide anything.”

Mrs. Ludlow smiled at Angustias words. “Time has been merciful to me although I cannot do much of what I could do before. But that is the law of life. We must live the best we can while we are healthy.”

“I couldn’t have said it better myself,” Angustias agreed.

“Your husband is an excellent dancer. My daughter is enchanted while dancing with him.” Mrs. Ludlow pointed at the dance floor. “I am surprised by how much the count has changed. I still remember when he was heartbroken by an unrequited love. After that, he became distant and unsociable. However, you have achieved a miracle my dear Lady Beaufort,” Mrs. Ludlow’s voice rose more than she had intended. She was a little tipsy from the wine.

Angustias wanted to ask her questions and encourage her to talk about what she knew but at that moment the music stopped and her husband approached her.

“Mrs. Ludlow,” Isaac was somewhat agitated, “let me congratulate you. Your daughter is an excellent dancer.”

The girl blushed at his flattery.

“Thank you, Lord Beaufort. I must say that my little Emily loves to dance, and she has plenty of energy to do it.”

“I can see that,” said Isaac.

“I tell her that she should dance as much as she can now. Once she is married, I do not think she will have so many opportunities.”

Emily’s attitude changed immediately. “Mother, I already told you. I do not want to get married.”

“Good lord, child. What nonsense are you talking about?” Mrs. Ludlow looked at the count. “She has gotten it in her head that she wants to become a teacher and then get married but she will lose several of the suitors that she has now.” Mrs. Ludlow frowned. “She doesn’t realize that if she does that she will lose the best years of her life dedicated to an activity that will not bring anything good.”

“Mother, I want to get married but not so young.”

“My child. Every girl gets married at your age.”

Angustias identified with the young girls feeling’s. She knew how hard it was to feel like merchandise for sale and not like a human being. Seeing the girl’s troubled face, an idea occurred to her.

“Mrs. Ludlow. I don’t know if you have heard but my good friend, the Marchioness of Wilmington, has founded a vocational school for the poor. The idea is to help people who live in dangerous neighborhoods, children who have no education, who do not know how to do anything but steal, to have a trade. Something with which they can earn a living and thus move away from that horrible world.”

“What a beautiful undertaking. I congratulate you for thinking of others.”

“It is precisely for this reason that, if you allow me, I could speak with the marchioness to add your daughter to our group of teachers.”

“Oh, mother! Yes, please!” exclaimed Emily.

“Emily would be able to learn from other teachers. If she wanted to become a certified teacher she could do it, but only with your permission of course. Emily could stay as a guest. There is a very respectable widow that has agreed to host the teachers that come from outside London. She is a nice lady with an impeccable reputation. You could even visit your daughter whenever you wish.”

Mrs. Ludlow thought for a moment. Emily looked like she wanted to jump up and down with excitement.

“I would have to discuss this with my husband. You know that we wish for Emily to leave her father’s house once she is safely married to a decent man. I cannot tell what my husband will decide but I am quite sure that he will say that this is an activity for spinsters and not girls of marriageable age.”

“There is no hurry. Take your time, Mrs. Ludlow. Speak it over with your husband. If he agrees, we would be more than happy to have Emily join our team. It is a good charitable endeavour. I assure you that it is not only for spinsters.”

“Oh well... let us stop speaking of work.” Isaac took Angustias hand. “Can I have this dance?”

Angustias smiled when she saw his hopeful face. Isaac had changed, and she fell more in love with him every day.

  ****

They arrived home late. Isaac and Angustias were exhausted. They had been dancing all night. With Isaac’s careful instruction Angustias dancing skills were improving. Isaac walked Angustias to the door of her bedroom. He kissed her on her cheek.

  “Good night.”

“Thank you. I enjoyed myself this evening.”

“Me, too. You are quite entertaining, Lady Beaufort.”

She laughed. “Thank you, Lord Beaufort.”

“Why don’t we end tonight in a perfect way?” His eyes were mysterious.

“How would we do that?” asked Angustias.

He didn’t answer. Instead, he took her head gently and kissed her. Angustias was surprised. She felt like the world turned upside down. His kiss was soft and slow. Isaac touched her ear, his thumb stroking her cheek. He pulled Angustias closer until he could feel her heart beating against his chest. She had no time to think. His tongue pressed against the seam of her lips. Her lips opened and his tongue moved firmly in her mouth. Angustias arms wrapped around him. She moaned softly, feeling his body against hers. She wanted more but Isaac started to move away a little, placing small kisses all over her face.

“Angustias...” he whispered softly. “I do not know what you are doing to me but when you are close, I forget about everything else.”

Angustias felt hope rising in her heart. She touched her lips with her fingers. “I like it when you kiss me.”

“I love kissing you.” Isaac came close again. He took her waist with his firm hands and pulled her close. He started stroking her hips. Then his hands rose to touch her breasts. The contact took her by surprise. She tried to move away, but he wouldn’t let go.

  “Do not worry, love.”

  “This isn’t right,” she whispered.

“Of course it is. We are husband and wife now. Why would it not be right?” Isaac kept kissing her. He guided her into the bedroom. He started to undress her until she was wearing nothing more than a chemise. Deeply lost in his kisses she didn’t even realize they were almost lying on the bed. Isaac started to untie the bodice of her chemise. He dropped the garment on the ground. Angustias felt ashamed of her naked body. She tried to cover herself but he stopped her gently.

“I want to see your body, my beautiful wife.”

  Angustias lowered her
hands. She felt his glance burning all over her body. She followed his gaze when he looked at her breasts and lifted a hand to her nipple. She did the same by stroking his strong chest and his abdomen. Isaac took her hand and guided it down to his erection. Her eyes widened when she felt him pulsing against her. Isaac removed his pants and stood naked in front of her, clearly revealing how much he wanted her. Angustias touched him, feeling his wetness in her hand.

“I want to give you pleasure. I don’t know anything about how to please a man.” Isaac could read the insecurity on her face.

“You just have to follow your instincts. I am sure that I will like anything that you do to me.”

Angustias started to caress him. He guided her caresses to make them firmer and her hand moved down his body. Suddenly, Angustias bent over and licked his erection, taking her husband by surprise.

“Does it feel good?” she asked innocently.

“It feels too good, love.” Isaac’s muscles were tense, and he had to make an effort to stop himself from taking her right then. He could imagine her lying beneath him while he filled her completely.

“I was curious about tasting you.” Angustias smiled.

He stood up and put some distance between them. He knew that if they kept on following this path he would not last long. “Darling, I think we should stop now.”

  “Why?” She seemed disappointed.

Isaac took off his shirt. “I have a better idea.” He placed her beneath him and took her nipples between his fingers.

She gasped and felt a strange heat forming between her legs. He closed his mouth around one of her nipples and felt the wetness between her legs. She gasped when she felt his hand in such an intimate area. Was this right? Angustias asked herself while his fingers caressed her sex and his hungry mouth bit her nipple. In the end, nothing mattered and she let herself get carried away by the delicious sensations.

“Darling, you are so wet. Your body is preparing itself for me.”

It was magical to feel how her body reacted to his touch. He made her body feel sore and swollen with wanting him. Isaac explored the lips of her pussy. Touching that sensitive point that would make her explode with pleasure.

  “Isaac... this feels so good...”

“That is what I want, love.”

He opened her legs and his cock grazed the wet entrance of her sex. She felt the pressure of him seeking to enter and it scared her.

“Easy,” Isaac whispered into her ear. “There is no hurry.” Angustias panicked. She thought there was no way he could fit inside her. Isaac tried to calm her down. He kissed her softly until her body relaxed and she forgot to be scared. Her warm body received him. The pain was brief. It was nothing like what she had expected and it passed quickly. Angustias found herself wishing he would move. She wanted to feel him move deep within her but he didn’t. He just kept looking at her to make sure that she wasn’t in pain. His lips kissed her with small tender kisses that relaxed her even more. Angustias took the initiative and moved her hips against him. So that he would know what she wanted.

“You are an impatient girl, aren’t you?” Isaac smiled. He started moving slowly.

She moaned softly. Isaac moved faster until she thought she couldn’t take any more pleasure. Her heart felt like it was about to explode. She couldn’t help let loose a scream at the intensity that she felt. Her body was shaking, she felt like she was going to explode, and she screamed at the pleasure taking over her. When Isaac saw her reach her climax, he followed her and ejaculated inside her. Panting, he fell on her and kissed her hair.

When he opened his eyes Isaac pulled her to his chest and hugged her.

  “Are you all right, love?”

“I don’t know... I never imagined it would be like this. It was so intense, so wonderful. Everybody talks about the duty of having children but they never say it can be so special.”

He caressed her cheek. “I am afraid that is something that decent young ladies do not talk about. I think this is a subject for married women, but I must be honest. Not all marriages have something special.” Isaac was as confused as she was, but in this case, it was because of what she had made him feel. He was not a man to cuddle with a woman, to hug her, to make love tenderly, but all that had come out of him instinctively.

She looked beautiful. Her mouth swollen with his kisses and her loose hair spilled onto her chest. Her eyes kept the shine of excitement and he wanted to make her his again, but he did not want to be an animal. She must be in pain and needed rest.

“I... I am not like this,” Angustias was embarrassed.

  “How?” He looked confused.

“We just made love. I behaved like a...” She couldn’t say it out loud. “Good God, I have to go to confession,” she said terrified. “Lust is a grave sin.”

Isaac started to laugh. “You are the most beautiful sinner I have ever seen in my life.” He kissed her tenderly and looked directly into her eyes. “What we have done is the most normal thing to do between a man and a woman. This is especially true for married couples.”

She smiled when she saw he was happy. He looked so young when he laughed. He looked like another person. She liked this Isaac, not the other one who was grumpy, cold as an iceberg, and even sarcastic.

Isaac pressed her against him embracing her and she imagined how things would be if they allowed themselves to fall in love. They fell asleep. She smiled, falling into a deep sleep.

The next morning Angustias opened her eyes and immediately remembered everything that had happened.

“It can’t be.” Angustias placed her hands on her head. Too much wine was the cause of her getting carried away by her passions. She had never been a woman to lose control and now because of that mistake, she could be pregnant. For a second she remembered Isaac’s kisses, caresses and passion filling her mind. It had been something special and that was the problem. She didn’t want those feelings to reach the depths of her heart.

“Good morning,” Isaac’s voice took Angustias by surprise. “I thought you were still sleeping.”

“Good morning.” Angustias got goosebumps as she felt his kiss on her shoulder.

Isaac thought she looked beautiful with her black hair lying over her pillow and her blushing cheeks. “Are you all right?”

“Yes.” She looked at him with luminous eyes. She was nervous. “I think we may have made a mistake.”

With those simple words, Isaac felt like something inside of him broke. He had been watching her for a long time while she slept. He had thought there might be a way of making their relationship work. He thought of changing his preconceived way of thinking about women. He had even considered leaving aside his usual precautions. But then she started to explain all of her arguments on why they shouldn’t have anything serious, nothing permanent. He began to see the merit in the reasons why they had made a deal. Each of them had insisted on having their own life. The way they had always wanted.

“I think you are right,” Isaac replied in a hard voice.

“You think so?” Angustias wasn’t expecting him to answer like that.

“It is clear we are better off living separate lives. I do not want to hurt you. Everyone knows I am incapable of being faithful to a single woman.” Isaac started to dress without looking her in the eyes.

“We had a moment of weakness together. It doesn’t mean it has to happen again. I don’t think I am able to be your wife properly anyway,” Angustias replied.

“I know.” Isaac tried to hide his feelings from her. “We are completely different people.” He picked up his boots and started to put them on. He acted normal, but Angustias could see that he was upset.

“I have to go now.” Isaac stopped under the doorway and said, “I may not come back tonight.” After that, he closed the door and was gone.

Angustias was left behind. She felt confused and upset. She didn’t know what to do.

“What a stupid mistake I made,” she told herself.

  CHAPTER
7

Isaac took his carriage to visit an old companion. His friend had joined him in the old days when he was a heartbroken bachelor. They spend most of the day together. In the afternoon, they visited a famous brothel in town. Isaac couldn’t stop regretting the way he had gotten carried away last night. Now that they had consummated their marriage, there was no going back.

“Hello, sweetheart.” A blond woman with blue eyes approached him. She started to stroke his hair. “You look so serious tonight.” She touched his face trying to seduce him.

Isaac pushed her hand away briskly. “Let´s just go upstairs,” he told her.

The woman didn’t care about his harsh voice. She walked upstairs with him. On the bed she started to get undressed, trying to get the count´s attention. But Isaac wouldn’t look at her.

“You are so tense, sweetheart.” The courtesan sat between Isaac’s legs and started to touch him through the fabric of his trousers. “I will take care of you.” She started to stroke him, and tried to open his trousers.

“I have not seen you in a while. I was waiting for you,” she talked in a sweet voice.

“I had things to do,” Isaac´s answer was rather dry.

“I was told you are no longer single.” The prostitute wouldn’t drop the topic.

“I am not going to discuss my marriage with you. Just let it go.” Isaac was in no mood for long conversations.

“As you wish.” The woman took his penis out. She sucked it softly, and then again harder. But Isaac couldn’t stop remembering the face of his wife. He wished it was her instead of this woman. Unable to resist, he stood up briskly. “I cannot do this today.”

She was surprised. She had never seen him like this. “Are you sure?” she asked.

Isaac didn’t answer. He took out some money and gave it to her. “Take this, for your effort.”

The courtesan smiled. She couldn’t resist flirting with him. “You know I am always here for you. You are my best client after all.”
