The Outskirts Duet_The Outskirts & The Outliers Page 37

by T. M. Frazier

“Yes,” I breathed, ready for whatever it is he wanted to give me. “I’m ready.”

“Good. Because I can’t wait any longer.” We were wild and passionate. Needy and desperate.

He pushed himself inside of me with one long thrust that made me gasp, filling me with pleasure while filling my heart with love.

I adjusted around his size, my inner muscles squeezed around him. Finn groaned, the sound making me squeeze him again and again until the pleasure was almost painful. Until there were tears in my eyes and we were the only two people existing on earth.

He held my hands above my head and didn’t continue until I was looking him in the eye. “I love you, Say.”

“I love you,” I replied, looking deeply into his eyes. The feeling between us, the connection we shared, added another log to the fire and our pleasure increased, reaching heights I didn’t think possible.

A tear fell from the corner of my eye. It was all too much.

  It wasn’t enough.

Finn kissed the tear away and began a slow and steady rhythm that had me lifting my hips to meet his thrust for thrust. We somehow flipped from wild sex to passionate love.

“I’m going to make you come now,” he said on a low groan. He reached around me to lift me up so he could hit an angle that had me seeing stars with each languid thrust.

“Please,” I begged, feeling so close to the edge I was practically living on it.

“Fuck. I feel you. I know you’re almost there. Damn, you’re so tight around me.” He thrust in harder. Over and over again he pushed in and out until his movements became frenzied and we were awash in sensations and feelings.

I couldn’t keep track of where he was touching me or where our lips were on my body.

  I felt him everywhere.

  My skin.

  My heart.

  My soul.

The muscles in my lower stomach tightened and he reached under my tank top brushing his thumb over my straining nipple which sent a shockwave of pleasure to my core. “I’m I’m…” I couldn’t finish my sentence because I was already too far gone. I came in a burst of blinding white light as the immense pleasure exploded within me.

“Holy shit.” Finn pushed inside of me one last time until I felt him expand within me, releasing his warmth with a pulse that caused me to shudder one last time as the last of the intense waves washed through me.

The depth of feeling wasn’t like it had been the first time in the library. I didn’t know how or why pleasure like this existed but all I knew was that Finn had given it to me, and so much more.

A few months later, my father walked me down a makeshift aisle in a field full of sunflowers. During the last moments of daylight, in the exact spot where my parents were married, I held our newborn baby girl between us while Finn and I vowed to always love one another.

  Fiercely. Possessively. Crazily.

  Always.

When we pulled up to Gary’s Garage, I furrowed my brow and turned to Finn. “Why are we here?”

“Come on,” Finn said, hopping down from the truck. “It’s a surprise."

"I thought you knew by now how I felt about surprises?" I asked.

"Well, wifey of mine, I do believe you're holding one of those surprises in your arms right now," he responded playfully.

"You got me on that one," I said, looking down at our daughter who had her daddy’s dimple and his bright blue eyes.

Finn bypassed the opened garage bay and took the field to the back of the small building. Finn took Sunny from my arms and cradled her against his chest, my heart skipped a beat the way it always did when I watched him care for our daughter.

“What do you think?” Finn asked, stepping off to the side, revealing the surprise just a few feet away.

I froze. My mouth fell open. I inhaled on a sharp breath, covering my mouth in complete disbelief. “It’s….you...I can't believe...” I took a few tentative steps forward, not believing what I was seeing until I was able to run my hand over the glossy new paint on the hood of my mother’s once rusty truck and confirm it was real.

It was Rusty all right, except now it was anything but rusty. It had an actual paint color, a robin's egg blue that would've matched...before I could finish the thought, I leaned to the right so I could see beyond the tailgate of the truck.

Sure enough, there was Blue. There were no signs of the storm damage that left it not much more than a twisted pile of scrap metal.

"She runs now," Finn said. "Really well, actually. They've both got a lot of new guts, but deep down. They're still the same 'ole Rusty and Blue you came to love."

"Why?" I asked, turning around. Finn's gaze was fixed on me while he lightly bounced the baby and rubbed circles on her back. "What do you mean why? Because you loved them and I saw how much it broke your heart to lose them. They were your first taste of freedom. I couldn't let you lose them forever."

  This man. This wonderful man.

"No. That's not why I love them so much."

"No?" he asked, following behind me as I walked in a circle around Rusty and Blue.

I shook my head and turned back around to face him. I placed one open palm on Sunny's little back and the other on Finn's chest. " I love them so much because they brought me to you."

Finn leaned down, pressing his lips to mine just as a voice interrupted us. "Here you go, boss," Gary said, tossing Finn the keys. They might not be worth what you spent fixin' them up, but if I got a reaction like the one, you just got, well then, I'd consider polishing up the old Pinto I got in the garage."

When Gary disappeared around the building, Finn tossed me the keys. “They’re all yours.”

“Thank you,” I breathed, wrapping my arms around Finn, careful of Sunny in his arms. “You made them live again. Thank you.”

“Just like you made me live again,” he said, lightly pinching my chin and placing a chaste kiss on my forehead. I closed my eyes and leaned into his lips, breathing in his fresh woodsy scent. Tingles. Tingles everywhere. “Now come on, we’ve got a lot of road to cover tonight.”

  "Tonight?"

"Yes, tonight." Finn opened the passenger door and made a grand sweeping gesture with his arm. "Since these belong to you, I would normally let you drive, but since you're still learning, and technically don't have a driver's license, I will do the honors for now."

"That works," I said, getting in while Finn buckled Sunny in the car seat he'd already had installed in the small back seat.

“Where are we going?" I asked, excitedly.

"My parents’ place. I figured since we’ve got all this family now, we better start visiting more often with grandbaby or we'll never hear the end of it."

Finn turned the key. The engine roared to life. No coughs. No sputtering.

The sound vibrated through me. I squealed with delight and ran my hands over the dashboard.

"Are you ready, family?" Finn asked, looking in the backseat at Sunny then back at me.

  "We are."

When it comes down to it, Blue and Rusty were the same truck and camper at heart; now they were just shinier and in perfect working condition.

They'd been made new again. Rescued from ruin.

Reborn into a life they were always meant to live.

Just like Finn. Just like me.

  Just a couple of outliers.
