I laugh bitterly, looking down at her from the deck. “Ye could take over any ship ye want. Why do ye seek passage with mine? Be gone, witch, I am too busy to deal with ye.” I turn me back to her.
“How dare you turn your back to me.”
Something in me feels as if I’ve had this conversation before; a sense of déjà vu. I turn and stare at the woman, trying to figure out in me head what be going on.
“Well, will you grant me my request or not?” she asks with her hands fisted on her hips. There is something familiar in the way she stands and I cannot figure out why.
“What will I get out of yer passage?”
“What do you desire?”
I think about her question. I desire Cassy. But can she help me with something like that? Is it safe to grant her passage? Me wound is beginning to sting and I feel light in the head. I need more rum.
“Demetrius, allow her on.”
“Aye, Cap’n.”
Once the Sea Witch is on board, she joins me where I stand. “Wise choice. Now what can I do for you?” The Witch wears a lace veil over her face so I cannot see her features clearly, but I do see her blue eyes as she looks at me.
“I have lost someone. How do I find her?”
“Let’s go inside and I will see what I can do to help you find her.”
I guide the Sea Witch into me quarters. I turn me back to her and pour mugs of rum for both of us. When I turn, I see that she is still standing. I hand her a mug and sit gingerly in me chair. She joins me in the seat in front of me.
“Let me see your hand.” I give her me hand and she begins to trace the lines on me palm. As she touches me hand, I feel a spark similar to the shock I had when Cassy first touched me. “I must ask you some questions. Are you willing to answer them truthfully?”
“Aye.”
“Do you love this woman?”
“Aye, with all me heart.”
“Are you willing to do anything for her?”
“Anything and everything. Just help me get her back.” I look at the Sea Witch sincerely.
I watch in fascination as the Sea Witch takes a deep breath and lifts both hands up to her hat where the veil is attached. Never taking her blue eyes off mine, she removes the veil, revealing the most beautiful woman I have ever set eyes on. I stumble out of me chair, knocking it over as I back away from her. “No,” I say under me breath.
“William, it’s me,” the woman says. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“How? Ye be the Sea Witch after all?”
“No!” She takes a step closer to me and I back up until my back hits the window behind me. She stops. “William, listen to me, please. I’m not a sea witch, I promise you. When I figured out how to get back here, I didn’t know how to get back to you without running into trouble. I’ve had bad luck with other pirates, you know this. When I found these clothes, I remembered you asking if I was a Sea Witch when I first came on board your ship. That’s the only reason why I dressed like this. I wanted to get back to you in one piece. Please believe me.”
I can hear the worry in her voice. I look over her features and she looks like me Cassy; her breasts, her height, the way she holds herself. But it’s not until I look into those ocean blue eyes that I believe her. I take a step closer to her, looking all over her body that I have come to know so well. She stands still, allowing me time to realize it’s really her. “Where did ye go?”
“It’s hard to explain, and it doesn’t matter. I’m back now and I’ll never leave you again. I promise.”
I lift my hand and run me fingers through her long black curls. The silkiness is just as I remember.
“Say something,” Cassy whispers.
“I do not know what is to be said.” I look in her eyes and see tears pool. Taking me thumbs, I brush them away. I lean in and rest me forehead against hers. “I have not been meself since ye left. I drank too much and think I may be in a drunken dream. I don’t want to wake.” I close me eyes and breathe in her scent of wild flowers and the ocean.
“William, feel me. I’m here now and I’m never leaving again,” she says as she lifts her hand to me cheek.
Without another word, I take her in me arms, covering her mouth in a passionate kiss. When I pull away, I rest me head against hers again. “Ye came back to me.”
“Once I figured out how to do it, yes, of course I came back to you. I love you, William.”
“And I love ye.”
“How do you feel after being shot?”
“Sore, but I will live.”
“So, Captain, where are we going now?” she asks. “We should go back to the island and retrieve the chest.”
“I don’t want to go back there. I thought ye were lost to me forever.”
Cassy reaches up and cups me cheeks. I lean into her touch. “I’m not going anywhere, William. I promise. I have no plans to ever leave you again.” I give her a chaste kiss.
“Then we must be on our way soon. We must tell the crew that ye have returned.”
“How do you think they will take it?”
“Only time will tell.” I take her hand and we walk out on deck. Demetrius is not far from me cabin. He pays me no mind but does a double take when he sees Cassy.
“Bloody hell!” Demetrius says as he drops the crate he was carrying. I look about the deck and all the men have stopped to see what be happening.
I wave me men over. “Come closer so ye can all hear me proper.”
I see shock in all me men’s faces as they see Cassy standing by me side again. “As ye can see, Cassy has returned and ye are to treat her as ye did before. Savvy?”
“Aye,” the men say in unison. I see several of them smile at Cassy as they move back to their work.
Demetrius joins us. “Yer the Sea Witch?” he asks in astonishment.
“No! I just used it as a disguise so I could make it back without any issues. It worked by the way. Did you miss me?” I tease.
“Aye, but not as much as the Cap’n,” Demetrius says with a smirk.
“Are we loaded?” I ask.
“Aye.”
“Then let us sail.”
“The island first!” Cassy announces.
I really don’t want to ever go back to that island, but I guess I have no other choice. Demetrius gives me a concerned look. “Aye, the island first. Ye will stay on board while Demetrius and I retrieve the treasure.”
“But you don’t know what I will need,” Cassy complains.
“I don’t want ye anywhere near the island. We will bring the chest back to the ship.”
“Okay, I can do that. But, please take a few men with you in case another rogue pirate is lurking around.”
“Aye. Demetrius, let us sail.”
“Aye, Cap’n.”
* * *
I join Cassy as she stands looking over the port side of the ship. I look out over the ocean, thinking about everything that has happened today.
“What are you thinking about?” Cassy asks.
“The things that happened earlier. It all felt as if I had lived it already.”
“I don’t understand?” Cassy looks at me for an explanation.
“When the Sea Witch…when you tried to board earlier, I was angry because I lost ye. I was not to grant ye passage, but something felt strange. It was as if I’d lived the moment before. So, I granted ye passage.”
“Does it still feel that way?”
“No.”
“Good. I missed you so much while I was gone,”
“Come.” I take Cassy’s hand and lead her to our quarters. Once inside, I pull her closer and snake me hands around her before bringing her lips to mine.
I walk her back until we be standing by me desk. I pull away long enough to clear me desk then go back in for a powerful kiss. She moans. Spinning her in me arms, I bend her over me desk and kneel behind her. I drag me hands up each of her thighs. When I get to the bottom of her skirt, I slowly drag it up her waist. I lean in and kiss her le
gs and up her behind, inching me way back to a standing position. I lean over her and whisper in her ear. “I need ye, Love.” I untie me britches and pull me throbbing cock out.
“Please,” she begs. On her plea, I line meself up and drive into her. This is home. It feels amazing to be buried in her. I stay still for a few moments, enjoying the feeling of her squeezing me shaft. When she begins to squirm, I smack her ass before pumping in and out of her. Her moans grow with each thrust. I feel her climax, which sets mine off.
“I have missed ye, too,” I say as my breath returns.
Chapter 12
Battle at Sea
William and I spent the night in peace and quiet in our quarters. I missed the sway of the ship on the calm sea. I’m watching William as he sleeps. Rolling onto my back, I look out the windows. The sun is just starting to rise and the sky is a pale orange against the light and dark of the morning sky; the night not quite ready to give in to the day yet. This is the first day of the rest of my life. I snuggle back into William, and he pulls me deeper into his arms.
Just as I’m about to fall back to sleep, I hear a rustle at the door before a knock. I nudge William awake. “Someone is at the door.”
“Enter!” William calls in a groggy voice. Demetrius enters
“What is it?”
“Cap’n, I see a ship in the distance.”
“Aye.” William throws his legs over the side of the bed. “Keep an eye on the ship. Get everyone up and prepare for battle.”
“Aye, Cap’n” Demetrius leaves to give the orders.
“I guess it’s time to get up. I was really enjoying myself,” I say wistfully as I stretch.
“Aye.” William pulls his clothes on and kisses me before heading out on deck. I find my battle gear, as I like to call it, along with the boots and belt that I brought from home, and get dressed. Grabbing my cutlass and pistol, I make my way out on deck. I step up to where William and Demetrius have the spyglass.
“May I see?” I ask. I barely see a speck on the horizon. William hands me the spyglass. Bringing it up to my eye, I can see the ship clearly. I see pirates on deck preparing for a battle. “They just hoisted the colors,” I say. “Shouldn’t we do the same?”
“Aye. Give the order,” William tells Demetrius.
“May I?” I ask with a smirk.
William and Demetrius share a look before William grants me my wish.
“Men, raise the Jolly Roger and prepare for battle!” I call. The men move about the ship, preparing for battle.
“Are ye ready for this, Love?”
“I’m ready to live my life, and if someone gets in my way then I shall take them down. You, this ship, and the crew are my family now, and I will help protect you all.”
William and Demetrius go about getting everyone ready. I feel like an outsider looking in; watching a movie with a very serious plot twist. I know I can do this, since I’ve done it before. With my new knowledge of using my cutlass, it should be a piece of cake. I walk over to where the spyglass sits and look over at the other ship. I can’t believe my eyes. I recognize the pirates on the ship from Port Royal. It’s the smelly guy and his band of idiots. “Shit! You’ve got to be kidding me,” I yell.
William jogs over to me. I hand him the spyglass and he looks to the other ship. He shakes his head. “I be killing the bastard this time. No arguing.”
“It’s his third strike...he’s out. Let’s do it with as little injury to our men as possible, please. We’ve not made it to the island yet.”
“Aye. Blow the men down!” William calls to the crew. They all scatter to where they need to be. I watch the men as they send the first cannon ball flying across the sky. It hits just short of their bow. The bad guys send one our way that is just short of our bow. Obviously, we are too far apart to make a direct hit. The wind picks up our sails and takes us closer to their ship. The two ships volley cannon balls back and forth.
Soon, the ships are side by side. Pirates are everywhere; good and bad ones. I feel as if I’m watching the whole thing outside of my body. I know that I need to be doing something, but I just can’t get my body to move. That’s when I see William pull his longsword and take off after a man who is coming straight for me. It doesn’t register that it’s the smelly man until he’s a few feet away from me. I go for my cutlass but it’s too late. He grabs me and now holds a sword to my throat. He has positioned himself so I can’t get a good hold on him anywhere.
William comes to a skidding stop. “Let her go!” He has his sword raised and pointing at the smelly man.
“I be making me own punishment for the wench,” he spits out as he pulls me closer to him. I look around and see that the whole crew is fighting with someone else. This can’t be the end; I just got here. I watch the emotions play on William’s face, trying to decide what to do next. I must be strong for both of us. I just wish I knew what to do.
I think about all the self-defense classes I’ve taken. I make eye contact with William, hoping that he will follow my lead. When he looks into my eyes, I nod slightly. I throw my head back and lean my hips into smelly guy. This throws him off his game long enough for me to pull his arm away and for William to step in and plunge the sword into his chest. Smelly guy makes a gurgling sound as he collapses on the deck.
William sleeves his sword as he speeds to me, taking both of my shoulders in his hands. “Are ye all right?”
“I’m fine. Let’s get these bastards off our ship.” I pull the sword out of the dead smelly guy’s hand and we run together to help the rest of our crew.
He goes to help Demetrius as I go for Patrick. Between the two of us, we manage to help the crew fight off the other pirates. When the bad guys see that we are taking them out, they flee to their own ship and begin to sail away.
“You’re letting them get away?” I ask, surprised.
“Me men know their orders.” Some of the crew wait, watching the other ship as it turns and slowly moves away from us, while others start to throw bodies overboard. Once the other ship is where William wants it to be, he yells, “Send them to Davey Jones. Fire!”
On his command, three cannons go off at once, each hitting their intended target. Within minutes, the ship begins to sink. William turns and smirks at me.
I shake my head and smile. “I need to tend to the wounded. Did we lose anyone?”
Demetrius joins us. “Everyone be accounted for. James has seen to the wounded, but ye may want to check Patrick. He still bleeds.”
Demetrius leads us to where Patrick is leaning on the deck. “Patrick, can you tell me where you’re hurt.”
“I took a sword to me side. James bandaged it up.” He looks a bit green and in pain.
“Can I take a look?” He nods. “William, can you and Demetrius take him somewhere where he will be more comfortable?”
“Aye.” The two men help Patrick below deck where the men sleep and guide him to a cot where he sits down. Patrick lifts his shirt over his head. He has bled through the wrapping that James put on.
I look up at William and Demetrius and know they are seeing how badly the wound was cared for. “Demetrius, can you bring the bag I brought with me please. How far from the island are we?”
“Maybe a half day,” William answers.
“The sooner the better.” As Demetrius gathers my bag, I turn my attention to Patrick. I take the cloth that he was wrapped in and apply pressure to his wound. “I will do my best to stop the pain and get you fixed up. Did you get hurt anywhere else?”
“No.” He winces when I apply more pressure. Soon, the room begins to fill with men that have been tended to and others seeing what they can fix below deck.
Demetrius returns with my bag. “Patrick, I will do what I can to make you comfortable. Do you trust me?”
“Aye.”
“Okay, I need you to lay on your back so I can get you cleaned up.” Digging in the bag, I grab out some iodine and some gauze, along with a proper needle and thread. Someone hands Pat
rick a black jack filled with rum. He sits up long enough to guzzle as much as he can down. “I be ready.” He hands the mug off and lays back down. He turns his head to the opposite side so he doesn’t have to watch. I pour the iodine in his wound and he tries hard not to yell. His ab muscles tense. Once he relaxes, I ask, “Do you want more rum?”
“Aye,” he says through clenched teeth as someone hands him another mug of rum.
Once the wound is cleaned out and I can see that there is nothing in the wound, I begin to sew him up. The cut is deep but I don’t believe anything major was hit. I get the bleeding to slow and get him sewn up with no other issues. “You need to rest and not stretch for about a week. You don’t want to pop a stitch.”
“Aye.” I help him sit up and get his shirt back on before I take a look at the other wounded. It looks as if Patrick got the worst of it. I’m glad that it wasn’t a bad fight.
I find William at the helm and join him. “I thought those guys didn’t have a ship?”
“They didn’t. They be pirates, I be sure they stole one. How did the rest of me men fair?”
“Patrick was the worst of it. You know James has no clue what he’s doing, right? He is okay for small things, but I wouldn’t want him working on me.”
“I did notice. When we get back to port, I be asking around for a new doctor and release him from his duties.”
“You don’t need to do that. He can assist me as I work on the men and tend to those with minor injuries.”
“Then ye be staying with us?”
“I’m not going anywhere. This is where I want to be.” I wrap my arms around William and lay my head on his chest away from his wound. “I want to stay here with you. Will you allow it, Captain?”
“Aye, I can think of nothing better.” He kisses the top of my head.
Chapter 13
A New Beginning
I cannot sleep, so I lay staring at Cassy. I am so glad that she has decided to stay with me. I feel whole again since she has been back on board. She has yet to tell me what happened on the island. I watch the rise and fall of her chest as she breathes. Me cock has been standing at attention since she fell asleep. I know she be tired, but I must feel her, taste her. I drag me hand down her cheek in a light caress.
