Kage glanced around, then his eyes snagged on hers. With a smile on his face, he dropped to one knee. Right there on the stage and right there in front of Mr. Dell. “Teagan, we can take as much time as you need getting to know each other better. Having said that, now that I know the promise you made to your mother along with the possibility now that your dreams of dancing will come true, would you allow me to be a part of that dream? If not here, then somewhere else? Anywhere else. New York City. Paris. Doesn’t matter as long as we are together. I’m willing to go wherever you want to go in order to fulfill all of your dreams. I love you, Teagan. Will you allow your dreams to become mine? Will you allow me to share them with you? Will you marry me?”
A bouquet of butterfly wings danced in her stomach. All her dreams and wishes were coming true. Along with the promise she’d made not only to herself but to her mother. Not only would she get to dance in front of real live people, she would get to marry the one man who understood her more than anyone else and loved her.
Kage loved her.
She sighed as contentment wrapped around her heart.
She cupped his face in her hands and gazed down into the silver-green eyes she’d come to love. She didn’t care what stage she danced on as long as she and Kage were together.
Together they would see the world.
Her lips found his, and she kissed him with all the love she had for him. When the kiss ended, she raised her lips only a whisper away from his and softly asked, “May I have this dance? Today? And forever?”
Kage rose to his feet. “Is that a yes?”
“Yes. That’s a big-as-the-state-of-Texas yes.”
Kage hooted and whirled her around again, kissing her as he did.
“Does this mean you’ll be dancing for me, young lady?”
She had forgotten all about Mr. Dell being there. Heat rushed to her cheeks even as she smiled. “It sure does, Mr. Dell. Thank you.”
“No. Thank you.”
Amidst the man’s welcoming words, they kissed again.
Normally with so much joy rushing through her, she’d dance. Her body might not be dancing right now, but her heart and soul definitely were. And she had a feeling they would continue to do so even long after her body no longer could.
If her momma could see her now, she’d be so proud and so happy. Her father would be too. She smiled thinking about how this dreamer would be marrying the one type of man she said she would never marry… a cowboy. But Kage was the other half of her heart. Her cowboy. Her dream. Her new reason to dance.

A DOZEN APOLOGIES
Mara Adkins, a promising fashion designer, has fallen off the ladder of success, and she can’t seem to get up.
In college, Mara and her sorority sisters played an ugly game, and Mara was usually the winner. She’d date men she considered geeks, win their confidence, and then she’d dump them publicly. When Mara begins work for a prestigious clothing designer in New York, she gets her comeuppance. Her boyfriend steals her designs and wins a coveted position. He fires her, and she returns in shame to her home in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where life for others has changed for the better.
Mara’s parents, always seemingly one step from a divorce, have rediscovered their love for each other, but more importantly they have placed Christ in the center of that love. The changes Mara sees in their lives cause her to seek Christ. Mara’s heart is pierced by her actions toward the twelve men she’d wronged in college, and she sets out to apologize to each of them. A girl with that many amends to make, though, needs money for travel, and Mara finds more ways to lose a job than she ever thought possible.
Mara stumbles, bumbles, and humbles her way toward employment and toward possible reconciliation with the twelve men she humiliated to find that God truly does look upon the heart, and that He has chosen the heart of one of the men for her to have and to hold.
