“I promise.” I squeeze his hand and reluctantly pull it away so we eat our breakfast.

Garrett is a handsome man who makes me swoon. His chiselled face with scruff makes my heart pound especially when his green eyes are focused on me. His muscular body in navy blue slacks and pale blue button down does things to my body that should be illegal. The grey that runs through his dark head of hair makes him look distinguished. When he smiles at me, like he’s doing now, I believe anything is possible.

“Sirena,” he growls, “you’re looking at me as though you want—” He coughs and shakes his head. “Never mind. If I voice it aloud I’ll never leave for work.”

“You have five minutes to spare, I’m sure.” I push away from the table and crook my finger. “I want you right, here.” I point to the floor between my spread thighs.

He groans and I don’t miss the blush coating his cheekbones. “I want more than five minutes with you.”

“That can wait until later, but for now, I want to send you off to work with a smile on your face.”

He laughs and admits, “That’s going to happen regardless.”

  “You’re wasting time.” I raise a brow.

Seconds tick by and then he very slowly rises and I notice something else has started to rise, which is what I was hoping for.

Leaning forward, I slip my finger around his belt and tug him closer. He stumbles but catches himself on the breakfast bar and when I nuzzle against his erection, he jerks and goes solid behind his zipper.

His hand trembles as he reaches for my shoulders and I’m not sure if it’s to push me away or to keep me close. Either way, I go with the latter and quickly unfasten him. His cock bursts free from the confines of the material, the flesh is so aroused that precum slowly trickles from the slit.

“Sirena, you don’t have to do this,” he says, his hands flexing firmly on my shoulders.

“I know I don’t have to do this, but I really want to. So very much. I want to know what you taste like. I want to know what you look like as I suck your release out of you.”

His thighs quiver, but when I lick around the bulging crown his hands drop from my shoulders, and he stumbles, latching on to the chair and table to keep himself upright. “I’m not going to last. You know that, right?” he groans.

“Mmm,” I mumble around the head, as I slowly take his length inside of my mouth. All words cease to exist when I take him deeper, my hands find and massage his balls with my gentle fingers.

My head bobs on him and his cock gets impossibly harder and at the same time that I meet his gaze, I press against his balls and swallow around the head of his cock, he growls and releases down my throat. “Oh . . . Sirena,” he grunts, coming hard and long, pulling his dick free he continues to spill and when it appears he’s finished, I bring it back to my lips and lick him clean. “Oh boy,” he groans, causing me to chuckle.

  “Oh boy?” I laugh.

He tucks himself back into his briefs and drops back into the chair while his eyes rest on me. I grin in return, just like the cat who got the cream.

“That was, um, unexpected.” He drags a hand down his face. “Thank you seems so inadequate after the best blow job in the history of mankind.”

“Is that so.” I give him a smug smile. “I certainly enjoyed feeling you pulsing against my tongue.” His eyes narrow so I continue, “And when you spilled down my throat, mmm.” I lick my lips, his eyes following. “So damn good.”

He snaps his eyes closed and growls.

I laugh at his obvious arousal, and moving from where I’m seated, I drop onto his lap with a grunt from Garrett. I elbow him in the stomach. “I’m not that heavy.”

His arms come around me and he nuzzles into my neck. “There’s no weight to you. The grunt was because you landed on my dick, which is so ready to play again, except I really need to leave.” He kisses my cheek. “Doesn’t mean that I want to go though.”

Being with Garrett makes me so happy and the handsome man has already admitted to me that he wants me to live here with him, and I’m guessing he means forever. While I’m wrapped up in this bubble with him I want everything, but I know that I’m going to have to call my mom soon and my parents are going to want to know where I am and why I’m not going home to them. My mom will be disappointed because she was excited to have me going there after my baby is born, but that was when Harry was around. Now that he’s out of the picture, the only place I want to be is with Garrett, and I know I’m going to have my work cut out convincing my parents that he’s my guy.

“You’re overthinking something, even though I don’t mind seeing that smile on your lips.”

“Can I ask you something and will you be honest with me?” I chew my bottom lip, which Garrett pulls free with his finger.

  “Ask me anything.”

“I want to go online and order baby things, but I’m, um, unsure as to where I should get them delivered.”

“That all depends on where you want to be after the baby is born.” He tangles his fingers in my hair. “You know that I want you here, but I don’t want you to feel pressured into staying.”

“This is so new to me. Harry never gave me the time of day really, unless he wanted something in exchange.” I offer him a wry smile. “The thing is, I never bothered. I was relieved when he wasn’t around, but with you, I count the minutes until you’re home.” I don’t think I’ve ever been so truthful with anyone about my relationship with Harry like I have been with Garrett.

“You’re not the only one counting the minutes, and as soon as your doctor gives you the okay, I’m taking you with me to see the new hotel.” He smiles. “I want you to be the first person I show around myself who isn’t the building inspector, my assistant, or anyone else who is involved with getting it perfect.”

“I’d really like that.” I give him a quick kiss to the lips before climbing to my feet. “Don’t you have a meeting to get to?”

Groaning, he stands, fastens his slacks and gives me a sexy crooked smirk. “This has to be the best morning I’ve had in forever.” He leans closer and when his lips capture mine, I move closer and wrap my arms around his neck, his hands resting on my hips. “If you’re planning on purchasing any clothing from a store in the city, then let me know and I can pick it up for you. So at least you’ll get your hands on something today,” Garrett offers and then starts laughing. “You like that idea, huh?”

“I sure do.” With one last kiss, I pat his tie down. “You better go before you’re late.”

He grins and smacks me on the bottom. “I’m already late, but who’s counting,” he whispers moving past me. “Call me about anything, okay?” He grabs his jacket and briefcase and then minutes later I hear his car disappearing down the drive. Minutes later I’m startled by an insistent ringing on my cell.

As I reach for it, tears come to my eyes when I see ‘mom’ on the screen. I briefly hold it against my chest and composing myself, answer, “Mom, hi.”

“Sirena, where are you? Michael and Charlotte say they don’t know, although I suspect they do. So what is going on?” Even though my mom sounds annoyed, she’s worried as well.

“It’s a long story and I was wondering if I messaged you my address, would you come out here so we can talk? Maybe later today?” I suggest, biting my lip while my hand strokes my baby bump.

“I don’t like you keeping things from me, honey. You’ve had a lot to deal with recently and your father and I are concerned. Not knowing where you are isn’t helping.”

I wipe at a tear and then another falls and then I’m unable to keep the tears from my voice. “I’m okay. I’m sorry for worrying you guys.”

“Oh, I didn’t mean to upset you. Let me come to you now.”

“Mom, I’m really okay. I guess it’s the pregnancy hormones making me emotional. It’s just good to hear your voice and I do have a lot to tell you, but I really am fine and so is your granddaughter.”

“What?” She pauses. “You asked? I t
hought you wanted a surprise.”

“I do, but I’ve been told very recently that I’m carry a girl.” I smile, remembering Garrett’s words from the night before.

“I’m getting impatient to hear what you have to say now,” Mom admits. “Text me the address Sirena, and we’ll be there later this evening, okay? I’m not letting another day go by before I’ve seen you for myself. Your father’s even worse than me.”

“I will and I love you both. See you soon.” I end the call before she can get it all out of me over the phone. Mom is real good at that. She gets you relaxed and then before the end of the call you’ve told her everything that you didn’t want her to know.

Sighing, I make myself another cup of decaffeinated coffee before locking the front door after yesterday’s unexpected visitors. Then I head upstairs to find my laptop. I have some shopping to do and I’ll be comfier on the bed. Maybe I’ll have a nap after the shopping.

  Garrett

Today hasn’t gone as expected, which means I couldn’t get away from the hotel until much later than I’d planned. My head might have been engaged, but my heart was certainly at my house.

I’m hungry and grouchy as hell to see Sirena. My temper had simmered over to my staff, which I finally realized when they’d started to avoid me at all costs as the day went on.

Climbing out of my car, I leave Sirena’s packages for now because the car parked in the driveway has my interest and I’m wondering whom it belongs to. I have no problem with Sirena inviting her family and friends over, which is something I should have made clear.

Dashing up the steps to the front door, I enter in time to hear, “What the hell, Sirena,” roared so loudly that I’m surprised the windows don’t shatter.

I quickly take in the scene of her parents standing close to her, especially her father as all color slides from her face.

My anger and need to protect her has me dropping everything at the door and quickly going to Sirena. Taking her in my arms, I wrap her up tight and try to catch my breath before I say something to her father that I can’t take back.

Her body trembles in my arms as she whispers, “I don’t feel too good.”

“Lie on the sofa.” I help her to spread out, and place her feet on a cushion before I sit beside her hip. I brush the hair from her face and reaching for her hand, keep it locked with mine.

Looking up at her father, I say, “If you want to be welcome in our home, I suggest you back off and give your daughter space.”

He doesn’t like my words, but the hand on his arm tugs him onto the sofa opposite. The elegant woman has tears hovering on her lashes that cause her husband to pause before he wraps an arm around her. He kisses her cheek and sighs, heavily.

“I’m not sure what was going on when I walked through the door, but you need to know that I won’t let anyone upset Sirena, no matter who you are to her, or to me. Sirena and her child come before anyone else’s feelings.”

Sirena squeezes my hand and turning to glance at her, I see color back in her cheeks. “I’m glad you’re home. I really missed you.”

And with those words, she’s completely taken the anger away.

Smiling, I bring her hand up to my lips and place a soft kiss to her knuckles. “I missed you too.” I grin. “My employees hate me right now after snapping at them for most of the day.”

  She frowns.

“Every time I tried to leave to get back to you something else would prevent me from leaving. It pissed me off.” I shrug. “I’ll make it up to them tomorrow.”

She giggles. “They’re going to hate me.”

Shaking my head, I counter, “They’re going to love you, so don’t worry.” I place another kiss to her knuckles and turn back to her parents who I find have been watching us with interest.

“I’m Lily McKenzie and this is my husband, Michael. It was a surprise finding our very pregnant daughter at home here.”

“Surprise isn’t the word I’d use,” Michael hisses.

“Daddy, please don’t do this. Garrett is a wonderful man and the last thing I want or need is for you to scare him away.”

“No one will scare me away from you,” I reassure a struggling Sirena.

“I need to sit up. I can’t be down here while they’re arguing.”

“We’re not arguing, are we Michael?” Lily pointedly looks at her husband, silencing whatever was on the tip of his tongue.

Once Sirena is more comfortable, in my arms on the sofa, I hold her mother’s gaze. “Mrs. McKenzie, I’m Garrett Hudson,” I tip Sirena’s face up to mine, “and your daughter means the world to me and so does her child.” I kiss the tip of her nose and settle her close.

Her father doesn’t say much and glares at us for now while his wife has some silent communication with her daughter.

“Mom, Dad, although me living with Garrett is new, my attraction to him isn’t. We met over a month ago when we got stuck in the elevator together at the main office.” She places her hand over mine on her stomach. “I’m exactly where I want to be and with whom I want to be with. I can’t explain it, but I need to be with Garrett.”

“He’s nearly as old as your mother, Sirena,” Michael drawls causing a frown to appear on Lily’s brow.

“Your father is right, honey? Why don’t you come home with us and we’ll talk.”

  Not happening.

My hands tighten around Sirena, and when she presses a kiss to my neck I know everything will be okay. “I’m not going anywhere unless Garrett is with me and I’m sorry if you don’t agree with that.”

Michael leans forward with his hands on his thighs, and asks, “Is this a case of you doing the opposite to what everyone wants?”

“Dad, seriously? I’m no longer a child, and for once in my life I’m making the right decision and one day you’ll see that.”

“We’re going to leave and you’ll call us when you want a ride,” he says, tugging his wife up by her arm.

Sirena sighs, but with my help gets to her feet to accept the hug from her mom.

“Please call me if you need me,” Lily whispers, pulling away.

Michael heads toward the door as though he isn’t going to touch his daughter and my anger returns as I watch Sirena trying to hold back her tears as she watches him. He opens the door and curses before he strides over to us, and tugging his daughter from my arms he wraps her up in a tight but gentle hug. “Even though I don’t accept your choice, you’re still my daughter and I’ll always love you.”

Holding her at arms length, he kisses her on the forehead and disappears from the house with his arm around his wife.

“My parents,” Sirena whispers before she crumbles into tears.

I pick her up in my arms and carry her upstairs to our bedroom. Placing her gently on top of the quilt, I climb on next to her.

Minutes go by before her tears turn into hiccups and then there’s silence. “Will you let me get you a washcloth for your face.”

“I feel a lot better now so I think I’m going to have a shower and then eat.”

  “You haven’t eaten?”

“I want to eat with you,” she confesses.

“Oh, honey. You need to eat small meals regularly, don’t wait for me. I don’t want you to get sick. You can always sit with me when I’m home and keep me company.”

“I guess today I had a belly full of nerves though as well because I knew my parents were coming to visit.”

  “I wish I’d known.”

“I wasn’t bothering you when I knew you must be busy.” She sits up and leaning over tries to kiss me, but doesn’t make it with her belly.

Smiling, I sit with her and keeping her head in place with my hands, I kiss her soft lips. “If you want my support or need my support in anything, you tell me, Sirena, and I’ll be here for you. I want to be here for you through everything, okay? You’re not alone now.”

Kneeling on the bed, she wraps her arms around my neck and ends up climbing on to
my lap. “I keep asking myself how I got so lucky.”

“I’m the lucky one, honey.” I kiss her quickly on the lips. “And right now, I can’t decide whether to make you some food or help you shower.”

She grins. “Well, the food is already made and is waiting to be heated in the microwave, so I think you should join me in the shower.” The light in her eyes dims slightly. “And I’m not going to worry about my parents for now because it is what it is and I know they’ll come around. I hope you don’t mind being stuck with me.”

“The only thing that would break me, Sirena, is if you left me,” I admit, letting her see through to my soul. “I know it really is early days yet, but I’m already there with you.” To lighten my words, I tap her on the bottom. “Now all we need is for you to stop being so slow and catch up.”

“Slow, huh?” She wiggles free and tossing her top over her head, followed by her bra, she adds, “There was nothing slow about how quickly I brought you to orgasm this morning.” Losing her leggings, she continues, “Or last night.” Smirking she disappears into the bathroom and the next thing I hear in the shower.

I sit for a minute, trying to catch my breath. It had taken a lot to stay calm downstairs when I’d thought that I could lose her and I still feel shaky.

This is our fourth night together if we count the night she’d spent in the hospital, so it’s no wonder her parents think she’s lost her mind in wanting to stay with someone who is so much older than she is. Letting the age difference bother me isn’t an option anymore and it hasn’t really been one since the hospital. I guess every now and again it might come up especially as we get older. I love her though, so as I’m a selfish bastard, letting her go is no longer an option.

“Hey,” she stands at the bathroom door in all her naked glory, making my heart pound, “I need help reaching my toes.” She smirks and disappears into the steamy room.

I sure as hell don’t need telling twice so with quick work, I remove my clothing, dropping it into the clothes hamper as I step into the bathroom.
