“She’s made a killing off him tonight. Two thousand bucks a dance and he’s had about five in the past four hours he’s been here. The girl could go into early retirement if she wanted.” Stan shook his head and glanced down at Callie.
“The paparazzi are out front. Is there a side exit that I can park at to get him out of here?”
Stan snickered. “The only exit we’ve got is the one in front. Sorry, sweet cheeks.”
Callie pursed her lips. Not only was it going to be fun getting him out of the building, but it was going to be even more entertaining to get him past the cameras. She shifted her gaze back to Sin, who had yet to see her standing there.
“Fine. I’ll get him out of here.”
She walked over to him and grabbed the stripper’s arm, carefully pulling her hand away from Sin’s crotch. “That’ll be all tonight, honey. Go entertain some other sucker.”
The stripper’s eyes widened. The girl moved quickly, dismounting him and disappearing to the backrooms. Sin sat there, eyes glazed over, staring at her. She didn’t know the first thing to say, or do for that matter.
“Hey! Callie’s here to join the party.” He gave her a drunken smile.
“Come on, Sin. You’ve had enough partying for one night.” She grasped his arm and yanked.
“No, Callie.” His words were slurred but his meaning clear. He jerked his arm out of her grasp and narrowed his glossy eyes at her. “You don’t tell me what to do.”
She arched an eyebrow. “I do when you’re making an ass out of yourself.”
She reached for his arm again and succeeded in getting him to stand. She grabbed his cell phone from the table in front of him and pocketed it. In all honesty, she’d forgotten just how much bigger than her he was. Six-two, two hundred and twenty pounds of muscle had nothing on her five-five, one-fifteen frame. If he truly didn’t want to leave, there was nothing she could physically do about it.
“You,” he said, leaning down so his face was in hers, “didn’t want me.”
“You’re drunk. I’m not having this conversation here with you now.” She tried to direct him towards the front of the club.
“No. You think you’re too good for me. That I’m nothing but trailer trash scum.”
She glanced over at the bouncer who was more interested in the girl on stage than helping Callie get Sin out of the club. “If you come with me, I promise we’ll straighten it all out.”
“No. You mean nothing to me.”
Though he was wasted and completely out of his mind, his words still stung. Hurt burrowed deep in his expression. She didn’t know what else she should do.
“How can you expect me to care for you when you don’t care for yourself?” She tried the tough-love approach. “You come here, get wasted, and have girls climb all over you—for what? To prove you love me? I don’t think so. Now get your ass in my car.”
She attempted to direct him towards the door. This time, he cooperated. The cameras immediately started flashing as they walked outside. Thankfully, she’d parked close to the door, and they pushed through the crowd to get to her car.
She situated him inside, then climbed behind the wheel. It took a few seconds but the photographers finally parted and let her through, two following behind her as she went. She drove through the streets of Las Vegas, timing it well with the lights and weaving through traffic to put the black SUV and the small sedan far behind her. It was a wonder if she didn’t get pulled over.
“I think I’m going to be sick.”
She glanced over at him in time to see him retch the contents of his stomach on the floorboard of her rental. He grabbed the door and closed his eyes, breathing heavily. The smell was horrendous.
“Are you okay?”
“No.”
Callie rolled the windows down, hoping fresh air would do them both some good. It only took twenty minutes to get to Sin’s apartment, but the paparazzi swarmed outside there too. There was only one other option, and quite frankly, with vomit on her floorboard, she really didn’t care. Aunt Rose’s house would have to do until morning.
“You passed my house.” He pointed weakly at the window.
“I know. You’re coming home with me.”
She pulled in the driveway and directed Sin to her bedroom. Missy and Aunt Rose didn’t seem to be disturbed, both asleep in their beds. Callie stripped him of his clothes, leaving only his boxers, and covered him in the pink and white quilt lying on top of her bed.
He was out as soon as his head hit the pillow and Callie took the liberty to watch him for a moment. He thought she saw him as inferior to her. The notion was ridiculous, considering he had anything and everything a guy could ask for.
Callie left the bedroom quietly, going downstairs to throw his clothes in the wash and clean up the mess in the car. She had no sleep, and the more she thought about Sin sleeping in her bed, the angrier she became. It didn’t matter though, because the morning would bring him enough hell, and she’d be there to intensify it.
* * * *
The sound of wood hitting metal rang in Sin’s mind louder than the cymbals on his drum set. He grabbed the pillow he lay on and covered his head, only for the noise to grow impossibly louder.
“What the—” He jerked the pillow away from his face.
“Rise and shine, buttercup.” Callie stood with a pot in one hand and a wooden spoon in the other. “You’re stinking up my bedroom.”
He closed his eyes. “Why am I here?”
“Oh, you don’t remember?” She threw the pot and spoon to the side, making a loud clank as they hit the end of the bed and tumbled to the floor. “Let me remind you. We had sex in your car. You got pissed off at me, went to Scandalous—a tacky club, by the way—and decided, instead of dealing with your sorry-assed problems like a real man, you’d take body shots off a stripper and get yourself wasted within a short amount of time.”
Sin opened his eyes, looking directly into hers as she moved towards him.
“Oh and this is my personal favourite. The bouncer called me in the middle of the fucking night because the damn paparazzi were swarming outside ready to capture you making a fool of yourself for all of the world to see. And when I arrived, you not only making a spectacle of our relationship in front of everyone, you threw up in my rental car, which I spent a good thirty minutes cleaning. Does any of that refresh your memory?”
His mind felt like cotton. None of the events she screamed at him registered. He remembered the sex in the Hummer and the shots. But the rest was a complete blur.
Callie climbed on the bed next to him. “I don’t know why your life sucks so much that you think everyone should pity you, including yourself.”
He rubbed his eyes. “What are you talking about?”
“You do this all the time. Drink. Go to strip joints. Why, Sin?”
“Because I felt like it.”
Callie snorted. “You got to do better than that. You claim you love me one minute and the next I find a girl straddling your lap and reaching for your dick. Do you not see where I’m coming from? How can you possibly say I’m wrong when you just repeat everything I say will never change about you? You claim to want a relationship with me, but I don’t want someone calling me at midnight telling me to come pick your drunk ass up at a strip joint. I don’t want you to look at another woman, much less lick whiskey off her breasts. You can’t expect me to be with you when you continue to do things that will eventually hurt me. There’s no logic in that.”
Sin rubbed his palms over his face. “Then why do you give a fuck? If I’m not the guy you want, then why do you care?”
“Maybe because I’m hoping one day you’ll grow up and be that guy?” Callie slumped down beside him, staring at the ceiling.
Sin narrowed his eyes at her. “You’re not making any sense.”
She turned her head. “Yeah, I know. I’ve spent all night contemplating everything and it still doesn’t make sense.” Callie sat up. “Go take a shower. My aunt an
d sister will be back around noon. I’d like you gone before then.”
The Sweetest Sin
Chapter Five
“Callie? Where are my clothes?”
Callie turned from the stove to find Sin, all wet, male flesh wrapped in a small white towel. His body was tan with lean muscles everywhere. She sucked in a breath.
“Uh, the dryer. I washed them for you.” She pointed to the doorway.
“Thanks.” He moved past her to the small utility room off the side of the kitchen to retrieve his clothing. “I’ll be out of your way in a few minutes.”
Callie flipped the stove off and dished out the food she’d cooked for breakfast onto a plate. “I fixed you breakfast. I hope you like a ham and cheese omelette.”
“I love ham and cheese omelettes.” He came up behind her and sniffed the air. “They smell delicious.”
Callie dropped the spatula. His voice sent a bolt of pleasure down her spine, making each nerve cell tingle with awareness. He smelt clean, like the Irish Spring soap that Aunt Rose favoured. She wanted him to bend down and kiss her neck. To push aside the bulky robe she’d thrown on after her shower and do to her what he’d done with that woman the night before. It was crazy, insane even, but Callie didn’t care.
“You’re standing really close to me.” She swallowed hard, finding her words truly dumb to her own ears.
“Yes, I am.” He put a hand on her hip. “Bulky robes are the ultimate turn-on. I’m thinking of fucking you right now on your aunt’s kitchen table.”
Oh, and she was thinking of letting him. “We can’t keep playing these games. I won’t play them anymore.”
“Fine.” He moved away. “If you’ll take me to pick up my car, again, I’ll stay out of your life until I return to L.A.”
She shook her head. “No, you won’t. We’ve already had this conversation.”
She picked up the plate and turned around. Sin stood buck-naked in the middle of Aunt Rose’s kitchen, daring her to look at him. She did. Even though they’d been together, this was the first time she’d seen him fully nude in over a year.
“We do have bathrooms and bedrooms for that particular purpose.” She set the plate on the counter and propped her hands on her hips.
“I’m good.”
“No, you’re not.” She walked around the counter and grabbed his clothes from the table. “Go.” She shoved them at his chest and waited for him to take them.
Instead he pushed them aside and moved in to kiss her. His arms wrapped around her pulling her close as his tongue invaded her mouth. She wanted to resist him, to push him away and end the kiss right now. But her mind and body didn’t cooperate with each other.
He moved his mouth down to her neck. And she groaned.
“Stop kissing me, Sin.”
“Why?” He brought his mouth to hers and kissed her again. “Kissing you is way better than fighting with you.”
“Sin.” She pushed him gently before giving in completely and pulling him to her.
Callie moaned when his hands went to the tie on her robe. Sin walked her back until her ass bumped against the edge of the kitchen table. She knew this was a mistake—letting him touch her after all that had happened. She was still pissed at him and hated the fact he knew exactly what to do to make her cave. She was putty in his hands.
“I don’t have a condom.” He lifted her onto the table.
“I… Then we can’t.” He tugged her robe from her shoulders. “Sin, stop. I mean it. We can’t.”
“Relax, Callie.” His fingers trailed over her abdomen. “Lay back and relax.”
He kissed her while he gently coaxed her legs apart. Callie watched him, assessing his every move. He touched her, rubbing two fingers between her pussy lips. He lowered her gently to the kitchen table. She closed her eyes, taking in each sensation as they washed over her. She tried to relax. He took a nipple into his mouth and sucked lightly as he pushed his fingers inside her.
“Oh my God,” she moaned.
His thumb flicked her clit, wiggling it while is fingers moved in and out of her.
He grabbed one of the dining chairs and sat, leaning forward to replace his thumb with his mouth. Callie clutched at the robe she lay on, biting her lip to keep from screaming. His tongue swirled over her clit, around it, tormenting the slick entrance of her pussy until she could barely breathe. He licked and teased, pumping his fingers inside her. He brought her to orgasm faster than she’d ever thought possible. She jerked against him as he continued to move his fingers inside her.
“You’re too sweet, Callie.” Sin glanced up and held her eyes with his own.
She wanted more. Her emotions were in a knotted mess. Ever since day one, Sin continued to break through her tough exterior and rattle her nerves—in both good and bad ways.
He licked and sucked her clit while his fingers continued thrusting inside her, hitting the one spot guaranteed to make her scream. And she did. On the heels of her first orgasm, she climaxed again, faster and harder. She couldn’t stop.
When the shudders dissolved and she could think clearly again, Callie opened her eyes to find Sin leaning over her body. He removed his fingers and braced his palms against the table, one at each of her wrists.
“Are you going to plan and plot how you’ll run away from me again?”
Callie swallowed and closed her eyes. “No.”
“Good.” Sin lifted her and sat in the chair again with her in his lap. He brushed her hair from her face, holding her as if she were the most precious thing on earth. “Tell me what’s on your mind?”
“You.” Callie lifted her gaze to meet his. “You make everything seem so simple when, in reality, it’s complicated. I don’t understand it.”
“What’s so complicated?”
“You. Me. Us together. This. Sex. All of the above.” She moved away from him and retrieved her robe.
“It’s very simple, really.” Sin grabbed her hand. “Stop making it more difficult than it is. I love you, Callie. I have since the moment I met you. You can choose to believe it or not, but it won’t change—no matter what your decision is.”
“How can you claim to love me, Sin, when you go off with other women at strip clubs night after night?” She slipped her robe over her shoulders. “Just last night you told me I meant nothing to you.”
“I was drunk. You and I both know everything I said isn’t true.” He grabbed his jeans and pulled them on. “I want to see you when I’m not with you. I want you around when you’re not. I think about you constantly even though you push me away.”
“Then why do you go to the fucking clubs? I don’t get it. It seems as soon as I say no, you’re like ‘Okay, I’ll go fuck someone else then’. I’m not your little groupie, Sin. I don’t want that kind of relationship with you.”
“No, you’re not that kind of person. I never meant to make you feel that way. You’ve got me spinning in circles, so I don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to do around you. I only went to that club because I wanted to stop thinking about you. It didn’t work. I thought being some place familiar with women who were familiar would make me forget you, but I was wrong. Sandy saw I was in a foul mood and we talked. She gave me a dance and I got drunk. That’s it. The only person I’ve fucked in the last year is you.”
He grabbed his shirt. Callie saw his mood change, his movements angry as he jerked the shirt over his head. “Yes, the other night she and her friend handcuffed me and gave me a blowjob, but it was your fucking mouth I pictured sucking me. I wasn’t kidding when I said you’re the only woman I want to be inside. Even after all your bitching, I still think of you every fucking hour of the day. I wonder what you’re doing when you’re not with me, and if you’re having fun or feeling bored. I wonder if you miss me or think about me at all.”
Callie bit her lip. Everything was a fucked up mess. Her mind screamed ‘Run away!’ yet her body ached to stay. If she thought life was complicated before, it was ten times worse now.
&n
bsp; “Obviously it’s all pointless. You’ll never stop running.” He moved to step past her.
She grabbed his arm. “What’s that suppose to mean?”
“You’re too controlling. You don’t enjoy life.”
She let him go and he grabbed his plate from the kitchen counter and returned to the table.
He continued, “You can’t stand being with me, because I take away your control, yet when my dick’s inside you or my tongue is flicking your clit, you’re happy to give it all up. As long as I make you come, you’ll gladly give up control and just let things be the way they are. Damn, I wish it was that way all the time.”
She watched him cut into his food. He didn’t bother looking at her, didn’t bother responding anymore.
“If I wasn’t in control, no one would be,” she explained. “And I enjoy my life very much, thank you.”
He snorted. “Right. When’s the last time you let your hair down and had some fun?”
Callie crossed her arms over her chest. “I have fun all the time.”
He cut a piece of the omelette and forked it into his mouth. He stared at her, scepticism written all over his face. “I want a specific event. Date, time, place. Who were you with?”
“Fine. Today—few seconds ago on the kitchen table. That was pretty fun.”
He gave her a smug grin. “It was. But you’re standing there, arms crossed, being Drill Sergeant Callie, trying to take control back. You come like crazy for me, yet the moment your orgasm is over, you work twice as hard to act as if it never happened.”
“I do not.”
“Yes, you do.” He stopped eating and gave her his full attention. “Your mind is constantly working on finding a reason for you to get rid of me. That’s why you dredge up the past so much. You can’t let it go because it’s your only defence against me. You don’t need a defence against me, Callie, just so you know.”
