“Oh, you think you’re just going to take whatever you want?” Easton quickly sat up, took her in his arms and rolled her onto her back as he whispered, “I’ll be doing the taking.”
He pinned her wrists against her head with his right hand while he kissed her deeply and ran the left down her side. Placing the tips of his fingers under the waistband of her workout shorts, she raised her hips and allowed him to slide them down her legs. He pushed her knees apart and slowly lowered his head to the sweet center where her legs met as she gasped in response to his authoritative touch. As he licked her with his expertly skilled tongue, his strong hands ran up her legs to rest on her ass. Gripping her flesh tightly, he moaned as he tasted her sweetness which caused her to buck against the sensation of his lips. Tori gripped the back of his head as she screamed his name into the wild and Easton smiled contentedly as his stepsister climaxed on his face. He slapped her on the side of her ass and said,
“Roll over,” and as she complied, he quickly unbuckled his slacks and slid them to his knees as she presented herself to him on all fours. Tori arched her back and raised her ass as he placed one hand on the small of her back and the other on his engorged cock. Rubbing the head against her dripping slit, he closed his eyes as he traced the moist line between her thighs. As he pressed into her tight opening, Easton placed both hands on her hips and drew her to him. Her fingers were digging into the ground as she tossed her head to the heavens, pushing against him so that she could take all of him into her. A guttural moan escaped her lips as Easton began to slide himself in and out of her hot femininity and Tori’s hips began to rock in time with his thrusts. Easton watched her ass as it bounced before him and he slapped her right cheek and smiled as he saw a handprint appear. When he reached forward and grabbed a handful of her light hair, she threw her hips back harder and screamed,
“Yes! Oh, my god, yes!” Pulling her hair slightly, Easton forced her head to turn so that he could kiss her passionately as he drove into her from behind and just as he felt the familiar rush of climax within his loins, she screamed, “I’m gonna come!”
She tried not to stare at his muscular body as he dressed himself under the bright, morning sun but Tori couldn’t help but appreciate his physique. The spray from the nearby falls seemed to shine around him like a glorious halo and as she tugged at her form-fitting exercise top, she felt a sense of peace in the moment. It was more than likely post-coital bliss but in that precise second, everything seemed right with the world. The fact that she was hiding out from Russian mobsters while having an illicit affair with her married stepbrother didn’t exist as the two of them shared a smile surrounded by nothing but mother nature.
The drive back to the house was quiet but Easton rested his hand on her thigh for most of the way and she stared out the window with a dreamy smile on her face. She couldn’t allow herself to fall in love with him but she was afraid it was happening. He’d told her before that it was just sex and she agreed but now she wasn’t so sure. Was it possible that she could have emotions for her stepbrother? Had she given him a piece of her heart without even realizing it? There was no way that she could continue with the affair but Tori had no idea to stop any further advances because her body would fight her brain every time and she knew it. His touch was like a drug and she was slowly becoming an addict, no matter how many times she told herself that she should keep her distance. After this mess was straightened out, Tori had to distance herself once again but until then, there was something quite enjoyable about breaking the rules.
Chapter Ten
Tori was awakened in the middle of the night by a loud, crashing noise and Easton was not in bed beside her like he had been when she’d fallen asleep. She quickly threw on her robe and headed downstairs. The house seemed quiet but the tension in the air could be cut with a knife and Tori Blake suddenly felt vulnerable and alone. She walked past the grand sitting room as she made her way toward the kitchen and felt a chill run up her spine. Surely, Lauren had heard the noise and had gotten up to investigate it herself. When Tori turned down the small corridor that led to the back entrance of the kitchen, she heard voices radiating from her destination so she slowed her pace so that she wouldn’t be noticed. As she neared the kitchen, Lauren rounded the corner and almost ran right into her. The woman quickly placed her hand over Tori’s mouth and motioned for her to remain silent and come with her.
“We can’t talk here.” Lauren took Tori’s hand and the two quickly walked along the cool marble until they turned down another dark corridor and the cook turned the knob of a large, oak door to their right. Once safely inside with the door closed Lauren turned on the lamp to the left of them and it was revealed that they were in Easton’s office. “As you know, I was originally employed by the Cunningham family but what you don’t know is that the Cunningham family is just a front. They were never real just like Kaine isn’t real.”
“What do you mean? He’s real, I’ve known him most of his life.” Lauren nodded to a pair of chairs in front of a large desk and they had a seat.
“The man is real, of course, but his power is nothing but an illusion. The real master behind the curtain is Alexi Petrovovich, or Petrov as he’s known in the states. When Kaine took over for Abel Cunningham as his majority money handler, Cunningham and those assigned to pose as his family were all eliminated and replaced here with Kaine.” Shaking her head, Tori interrupted her and asked,
“Replaced? What do you mean?” Lauren tried to slow down and explain that most of the money that was cleaned was first brought to the mansion and held until it could be transported to whatever business was being used to filter through their books. The steward of the mansion was in charge of making sure all of the dirty money was delivered in a timely manner and Cunningham had made too many mistakes.
“Your boss, Pierce, was one of the first clients used for this operation and quickly became one of Kaine’s best runners. It was discovered that Kaine and Pierce had been stealing from Petrov and used your identification number to verify transactions so that it wouldn’t be traced back and I’m sure you know that you aren’t the first person to have access to this number.” It was all beginning to make sense but surely Easton wasn’t aware of her involvement. It had to be Burt Pierce manipulating things on that end because Easton didn’t even have any involvement with The Pierce Group.
“There must be some mistake.” Tori jumped to her feet and rushed out the door, despite Lauren calling her name and begging her to come back. She ran toward the kitchen where she found Burt, Easton and a man that she assumed to be Petrov standing in the kitchen surrounded by men with guns. The guards undoubtedly belonged to Alexi Petrov and she stopped dead in her tracks when two of them raised their weapons to her. Quickly raising her hands above her head, Tori looked to Easton with worried eyes and he shook his head with a quick smile, as if telling her not to worry.
“What’s going on in here?” Petrov walked in her direction and ordered the guards to lower their weapons with a gesture of his hand and they did as they were instructed. With a smile, Alexi Petrov placed his hand on her back and guided her to stand next to Easton.
“You must be Miss Blake.” Her head snapped to look at him, surprised that he knew her name and suddenly afraid that she may be in actual danger.
“I am and it seems as if you have me at a disadvantage.” She glanced to Burt, who wouldn’t look up to face her and noticed that his lip was bleeding.
“My name is Alexi Petrov and it seems as if someone in your company has been stealing from me. Now, my gut says that you have no idea what’s going on and I hope that’s the case but one can never be too sure.” Lauren appeared in the doorway and calmly walked to stand beside the Russian crime lord, who put his arm around her.
“It seems as if my wife has taken quite a liking to you in this short time and thinks that your involvement is purely circumstantial. You don’t look stupid enough to steal from me; not like these two.” Petrov walked to stand in front of Easton a
nd Burt as he continued. “These two started out with nothing and I took them to the top of the world in a few short years and how do they repay me? By stealing from me?” He shouted the last question as he punched Burt Pierce in the gut. Tori gasped and clasped her hands over her mouth as Easton drew her close to him under his protective wing.
“Miss Blake, were you even aware that Mr. Kaine owns the business of which you are a partner?” Her head snapped to look as Easton who shrugged and replied,
“I own a lot of businesses through many different corporations and that has nothing to do with any of this.” Tori looked at him and pulled away from his embrace as she asked,
“And my making partner? Did you have anything to do with that?” He looked into her eyes and with a soft tone, said,
“Tori, you are a brilliant woman with a good head on your shoulders but there’s no way that you would have made partner in that little time on your own.” Floods of questions swam in her mind as she wondered just how much intervention he’d had in her life and she shook her head as she asked,
“Was I ever really in any danger?” Petrov looked to her and shrugged his shoulders as he said,
“Not from me, Miss Blake.” Easton chuckled as he tried to find the right words to say as Tori’s eyes burned into him.
“When you called me about the folks, I couldn’t get you out of my head.” She scoffed and finished by saying,
“So you created a nonexistent threat so I’d come running to your arms.” He smiled and shrugged as he tilted his head cockily and replied,
“It worked, didn’t it?” With a look of disbelief, she slapped him across the chest and said,
“I can’t believe you. How could you manipulate me like this? I was genuinely terrified that my life was in danger and you played me like a fucking fiddle!” Slapping him across his face, Tori turned to storm out of the kitchen and Petrov stepped out of her way in amusement. The mafioso seemed entertained at the scene of domestic disarray and when Tori turned around, he crossed his arms and watched contentedly.
“Why? How could you do this to me?” She felt humiliated and embarrassed that she had even allowed the past week to happen and as she looked upon his face for remorse but saw none, Tori’s pity morphed into anger. With an arrogant sigh, Easton Kaine shrugged, flashed a smug grin and said,
“Because I wanted you and I know how to get what I want.” Fighting back both tears and the urge to punch his face in, Tori chuckled and slowly nodded.
“Yeah, I suppose you do. You’ve always only looked out for yourself and I was the idiot for believing that you were actually trying to help me.” Before she left, Tori looked to Burt and said,
“I quit.” Petrov waved his hand to allow her to pass in front of him and she walked out of the kitchen before she fell against the wall outside and drew in a deep breath. Trying to comprehend everything that had just happened would take a while but at least it was over.
Tori read in the paper later that Easton and Burt were arrested on multiple charges including laundering and fraud and that Burt had even blown the whistle on Petrov, who could not be found for questioning. She found a small office space outside the city that dealt and put everything she had into starting her own investment firm. Dealing with mostly small business owners and families, Tori’s venture was growing and her reputation as a brilliant investor had become widely known. The sense of pride that she felt with her name on the door was like nothing she’d felt before and each morning she walked into Blake Investments, she couldn’t wipe the smile off her face.
Her rental home was quaint and quiet but in light of recent activities it seemed to be absolutely perfect and desperately what she needed. Thoughts of romance often filled her mind and she had even though she had broken things off with Pete the accountant, she remained hopeful that she would meet the man who was right for her. Tori more than happily committed herself to her career and this time around, had no doubt that her success was all her own.
As she sat across from her newest client, a physician with a fledgling practice, she smiled as he spoke about his plans for his financial future and couldn’t help but notice how his eyes danced with passion. She felt confident that she could help him achieve his financial aspirations and goals with ease and as she began to peck at her keyboard, he said,
“If you aren’t busy after work, maybe we could get together for a cup of coffee and go over all this a bit further.”
Yes, she was hopeful of her romantic future and as she politely explained that she wasn’t allowed to date clients, he reached his hand over the desk, placed it over hers and asked,
“What if I take my business elsewhere? Will you go out for coffee with me then?” Unsure as to his intent, she chuckled nervously and replied,
“Well, I suppose I could call it a business meeting and I’ll just bring your portfolio.” Smiling, he removed his hand and sat back in his chair and said,
“I suppose I can live with that.” Her heart raced as she continued entering his information and her gaze jumped across the desk more than she wanted. Tori knew that she couldn’t live the rest of her life afraid of being hurt again and that she couldn’t hold the actions of one man against them all. The charming doctor could be the one who was meant to hold her heart but she would never know if she didn’t give him a chance. The feelings that she had for Easton had been tainted by lies and deceit and she worried that she would be scarred but she felt the tug of hope pulling on her from deep inside when she agreed to meet Dr. Mark Boone for coffee. What the future held for her was unclear but she knew she couldn’t live life afraid of her past. The hint of danger that she felt with Easton had clouded her judgement but now she had thoughts as clear as crystal and everything within her was telling her that Mark was just what the doctor ordered.
With their initial business finalized, Tori thanked him for choosing Sullivan Investments and as they shook hands across her desk, his smile burned into her memory. Mark allowed his hand to linger for a moment as he smiled sweetly and before he turned to leave, he said,
“I hope to see you soon, Miss Blake.” Still holding his hand, she smiled and replied,
“How do you feel about dinner?” He smiled and answered,
“I love dinner. It’s one of my favorite meals.” She chuckled and replied,
“How about that new place on Wilmington around eight?” Nodding with a charming grin, he said,
“It’s a date.”
