“Let me finish,” he said, pausing for only a moment before continuing. “If you cannot give yourself to me entirely, the way I give myself to you, I need to know right now. Because if so, I need to walk away from this. I just can’t handle it.”
His gaze slipped away from her, focusing on the white tile wall above her head.
She brought her hands up to cup his face, tipping it downward so he looked into her eyes. “I’m all in, Caleb, now and forever.”
A slight smile curved the corners of his lush mouth. “Are you sure? I need you to be sure.”
Grinning, she pressed her breasts more fully against his chest. “I’m sure. I love you, and I never want us to be apart again.”
His hand released hers, allowing her to stroke his cock once more. A second later, he was cupping her breast, his knowing thumb teasing her already hardened nipple.
“Then, enough of this,” his husky voice slid down her spine like the tips of his fingers, “I think it’s past time we go to bed.”
Hauling her out of the water, she gasped in surprise. “But—but we need to report to my father. We need to speak to the captain. We need—“
He silenced her with a kiss. “The only thing I need is to have you. To kiss. To touch. To protect. And to love.”
She laughed, even though her insides were on fire with craving for him. “But don’t get too big of a head, my sexy Keltair warrior. Because even though I’m going to be your female, I’m never going to stop challenging you.”
Tossing her onto the bed, he climbed on top of her. “Or I’m going to teach you to obey.”
She spread her legs wider, biting her bottom lip. “You can sure as hell try.”
Epilogue
The wedding came as a complete surprise, but no one was more pleased than Caleb and Erin themselves. As they held hands on a hilltop in chilly Ireland, Erin stared from the stunning sunset to the small collection of guests bathed in the brilliant orange-and-red light.
“This is one of the best moments of my life,” she whispered, squeezing his large hand.
He squeezed back, his gaze catching hers. “Just wait until our wedding.”
Oh boy! That’ll be quite the spectacle.
Erin laughed softly at just the thought. “I thought Keltairs don’t get married.”
His gaze swept to his mother, wearing a soft lavender-colored gown, flowers weaved through her hair. “If my father can embrace such a human tradition, I don’t see why I can’t.”
She tried to hide her grin, but failed. “Does this have to do with that captain hitting on me?”
He growled low in his throat. “Apparently if you were wearing a ring, he would’ve known you were taken.”
Silly, jealous male!
She rolled her eyes and looked at Caleb’s father. The Keltair had tied back his long black hair into a warrior’s tail. Pride radiated from him as he stared at the woman he’d spent the past year slowly wooing. Maybe a wedding wouldn’t be all that bad.
“I guess we can think about it. If Captain Vernan ever gives us leave for more than a day or two.”
He pulled her against him, his hands on her waist. “I’ll ask when we return. And tell him it had better be soon.”
She pushed against his chest, but his strong arms held her close. “Caleb! People are staring!”
“Good.” His gaze went to her lips. “Let them watch.”
As his mouth captured hers, a feeling of joy beyond anything she had ever felt swept over her. Never in her life did she imagine she could have love and her career, but she’d been wrong. Her life was like a dream.
And since she no longer had to Dream Jump after catching Ahmed, that meant both her days and her nights were filled with her incredible Keltair lover.
This is happiness. This is perfection.
He pulled her closer.
