The Wrong Side Of Love 2: A Hood Love Story Page 2

by Charmanie Saquea

“Ezekiel, I’m hurt. You should know me better than that, and I know you better than you think I do. So, tell me, how big is this problem?” José questioned.

“Let’s just say one of those snakes you and Chico warned me about, I got bit by one,” Zeek told him.

“Hmm. Is that right?” José asked,

“Not only that,” Zeek continued. “I have pigs snooping around my barn and I don’t like pork,” he said, speaking in code.

“I see, so you know that you need to come see me, right?”

Just as he figured, José wanted him to come down to Cuba.

  “When?” Zeek asked.

“Tonight,” José said. “Necesito que dejar lo antes posible.” (You need to leave as soon as possible)

“Entiendo,” Zeek told him. (I understand)

After making a few final arrangements before hanging up, Zeek noted that he had a few hours before he left and there was something that he needed to do before he boarded that jet.

  ___

Coco had just stepped out of a warm, relaxing shower after a tiring day at work. Wrapping a towel around her dripping body, she walked out of her bathroom and into her room to find a surprise waiting on her that almost gave her a heart attack.

“Ahhhh! What the hell!” she screamed, grabbing her chest.

“My bad, I didn’t mean to scare you,” Zeek said.

“Get out,” Coco said as she tried to return her breathing back to normal.

“Nah, not right now.” Zeek smirked as he held up her bottle of lotion.

Feeling the same emotions she did the last time she was in his presence, Coco balled up her fists and charged at Zeek. Because he was caught off guard, Zeek was hit in the jaw before he was able to grab her by her wrists and fling her on the bed.

“You better chill the fuck out before I snap your fucking neck. You don’t put your hands on me. What the hell is wrong with you?” Zeek barked at her.

“Fuck you! I hate you!” Coco yelled as she tried to get away from him.

Climbing on top of her, Zeek used one hand to hold her wrists, his body weight to stop her from bucking and his other hand to grab her face.

“Stop, Jacole! Look at me, okay?” he said, forcing her to look at him. “I’m sorry. I was way out of line the other day for the shit I did and it never should have happened. You didn’t deserve to have a gun put to your head, period. You’ve been nothing but loyal to me even though I don’t deserve it. I’m sorry,” Zeek apologized as he kissed her neck while still holding her wrists and simultaneously opening her towel.

  “Stop,” Coco said.

Ignoring her, Zeek kissed his way down her body until he reached her left nipple. Gently teasing it with his teeth, he asked, “You accept my apology?”

“Get the fuck off of me, Ezekiel! You got me fucked up if you think you can come over here, throw me a sorry ass apology, hit me with some dick and everything will be okay. I want you out of my house and I want you out now!” Coco yelled.

Zeek continued to tease Coco as he pinched her right nipple while still nibbling on her left one. He slowly kissed his way down her body while licking it and twirling his tongue. Zeek smiled to himself because all that fussing and fighting she was just doing moments ago was nowhere around.

Zeek sat up and looked at her. “Take it out.”

  “No I don’t—”

“Do what the fuck I said,” he told her.

Reaching for his pants, Coco unbuckled his belt, unzipped his belt and took his dick out just as she was told.

“Good girl.” Zeek smirked as he fully removed his pants.

Coco just rolled her eyes because she hated how cocky he was being right now and she hated herself even more for giving in to him. Zeek grabbed both of Coco’s legs and pinned them behind her head before he thrust himself into her.

“Ughhh!” Coco moaned out as Zeek fucked her like he was trying to prove a point.

The first time, he’d taken his time with her because that was right after she had went through the whole rape ordeal but this time, he was about to fuck her brains out.

“Zeek, wait,” she said as she tried to push him back.

“You accept my apology?” he asked as he pumped in and out of her with force, slapping her hand away.

  “I…I…shittt.”

“Tell me you accept my apology and I’ll ease up,” he lied, knowing he wasn’t going to ease up regardless.

  “I can’t,” she cried.

  “You can’t what?” Zeek asked.

Having enough of that position, Zeek pulled out just to flip Coco over before he slammed back into her. Coco had her face pressed into the pillow so she wouldn’t cry out from the pain and pleasure Zeek was making her feel.

“I can’t hear you, Co. Tell me you forgive me and that you don’t hate me,” Zeek said.

Zeek heard a muffled noise but he couldn’t understand what she was saying because her head was in the pillow.

“Take your face out the pillow, girl,” he laughed as he slapped her on the ass.

  “I…I forgive you,” she moaned.

“So you don’t hate me?” Zeek asked.

  “Nooo.”

“Let me hear you say it then.”

Coco couldn’t even say it because a body rocking orgasm had hit her hard. Zeek smiled at his handiwork but continued to pump as he was nearing his own peek. He held Coco’s body up as he pulled out of her and released on her ass. Going to the bathroom, Zeek got a washcloth so he could wash Coco off. By time he made it back to the room, she had already dozed off. Being careful not to wake her, he gently cleaned her off before heading back to the bathroom to clean himself off.

Coco stirred lightly as Zeek kissed her forehead but she didn’t wake out of her sleep. Zeek stood over her, taking a minute to admire her beauty. He hated to leave without telling her where he was going or without knowing how long it was going to be before he was going to be able to see her again. He was happy about the fact that they were able to make up before they left. Taking one last look at her, he quietly made his way out the house.

  Chapter Four

Elias was so excited that he couldn’t contain himself. This was the moment that he had been waiting for. He and the Detroit PD were about to make a move on Zeek and take him down. The case they had been building against him along with the help of Chanel and one of his workers was all he needed to get some information to move in on him.

“When we go in, I want my face to be the first one he sees and I want to be the one to cuff him,” Elias said told his colleagues.

What Coco didn't know was that while she thought she was being slick by having Elias drop her off at her house so he wouldn't know where Zeek lived, it didn't work for her. One time when they went out and he dropped her off, he noticed she left something in his car so he turned around to drop it off to her but he realized she was gone. So from then on, he put a tracker on her cell phone and he noted that whenever he dropped her off, she left and went to the same address every night.

His intuition was telling him that was where Zeek lived but when he typed the address in the precinct’s database, he wasn't listed as the owner of the house. Elias knew better than that. He knew with the line of work Zeek was in, he couldn't get things in his name.

  “We’re about to move in.”

Elias’ chest was swelling up with pride as they moved towards the house.

  “Police! Open up!”

After standing there for a few and not receiving a response, they received the signal to just go ahead and enter at their own liberty. Elis stood back as they kicked the door down and then entered. When they walked in his house with their guns out on alert, everyone received the shock of their life. Zeek’s house was completely empty as if no one ever lived there.

As he stomped his way throughout the house, Elias could feel his blood pressure getting higher and his skin getting hotter as he literally checked every room but ended up with the same result; empty handed.

&n
bsp; “Hijo de puta!” he yelled out in Spanish furiously. (Son of a bitch)

Everyone looked around, pissed as well as confused because they thought they had Zeek right in the palm of their hands. His house was just under surveillance yesterday so they didn’t understand how they’d let this happen or how he’d pulled this off.

“What the fuck happened, Santiago? I thought you had someone on him?”

“Not now, not the fuck right now!” Elias yelled as he rushed out of the house.

Turning on his lights and sirens, Elias sped back to the station while dialing Chanel’s number.

“I held up my end of the bargain so there should be no reason for you to be calling me,” Chanel answered.

“Where the fuck is Zeek?” Elias yelled into the phone.

“What do you mean where is Zeek? He’s supposed to be in the back of a squad car on his way to jail,” Chanel said as if he was dumb.

Elias was frustrated and pissed off and didn’t have time for her games nor her smart mouth right now.

“Well obviously he’s not, bitch. If he was, do you think I would be calling your stupid ass? His house was completely wiped out and there’s no trace of him, so I’m calling you to see where the hell he is. Now is not the time for you to be playing the fucking helpful girlfriend role because I swear to God I will make sure the both of you go down,” Elias threatened her.

Chanel’s end of the phone was quiet for a few before she decided to speak. “Look, Elias, I don’t know who you’re talking to but I do know you’re talking to the wrong one. Think about the shit, if I was the one helping you bring Zeek down, why would I help him get away? Fuck Zeek! I’m not the one you need to be questioning about his whereabouts; I’m not his bitch, remember? If Zeek is missing, you better hurry up and find him because I can promise you he’s somewhere plotting on your snake ass and your days on this earth are definitely numbered. Fuck off my line,” Chanel ranted before she hung up on him.

In everything that she’d just said, there was one thing that stuck out to him. She wasn’t the one that he needed to be questioning about Zeek’s whereabouts. He was hoping that Coco would have taken heed to his warning about staying away from Zeek because he was only trying to help her. If in fact she didn’t listen to him and took it upon herself to help Zeek get away, she had just got herself in the middle of something she was going to wish she would have stayed out of.

  ___

Jayliah and Coco had just walked out of the Applebee’s in Eastland Center from having some much needed sister time. This was the first time Jayliah had really left her house since Quaid’s death and it took a lot of convincing from Coco for her to do it but she finally gave in. Even her job was understanding and lenient due to her circumstances as to her losing her son and told her whenever she was ready to come back, her job would still be there.

“So you mean you just woke up and he was gone?” Jayliah asked, referring to Zeek.

“Yup, he left a note telling me he had to go and he doesn’t know how long he’s going to be gone but he loves me and to keep it tight for him and he’ll be back for me,” Coco explained.

And that was three weeks ago and Coco hadn’t heard from him since. Not a phone call, a text message; nothing. She didn’t know how to feel about him coming over, having sex with her, professing his love to her while they were having sex and then leaving her while she was sleeping with no explanation. She felt like he could have at least told her where he was going if he couldn’t tell her what the situation was.

“I bet you Tariq’s bitch ass knows where he’s at, or Marco. I’ll have better luck asking Marc though, because I’m not talking to his brother,” Jayliah said.

“What happened now, Jay? I thought you two were doing good,” Coco asked, confused.

“Okay, I’m going to tell you what happened and I want you to tell me if I’m overacting or not.”

“I definitely will because I know how you get,” Coco told her sister.

Jayliah explained what was going on between her and Tariq from his supposed baby mama calling and playing on her phone, to him feeling as if he had to sneak behind her back to see the child ending with the blow up at her house where she tried to kick him out of her house.

“Wow, Jay, that’s deep,” Coco sighed.

“Tell me about it,” Jayliah agreed. “So tell me, am I overreacting or are my actions justified?” she asked.

“Honestly, this time I would have to say that I’m surprised that that’s all you did because I definitely would have been ready to catch a case because that bitch is definitely out of line. Riq should have put that bitch in her place a long time ago, especially considering the shit you’re going through right now. So no, you are not overreacting at all. Have you heard from him since?” Coco asked.

“I changed the locks on the house and blocked his number. Coco, I honestly cannot deal with that type of drama right now. I’m already going—”

“Jay,” Coco said, cutting her sister off. “Look who’s coming out of Jimmy Jazz.”

Coco and Jayliah both stopped dead in their tracks when they noticed Tariq coming out of the store looking like the perfect family man with who they were assuming was his daughter in his arms and his baby mother behind him. As if he could feel someone staring a hole in him, he looked up and connected eyes with Jayliah.

“Keep calm, Jayliah. Please tell me you left your gun at home,” Coco whispered to her.

Jayliah shot her a look that told her she should know better than that. “I’ll keep calm because he’s not saying shit to me, let’s go,” she said as she turned and headed in the opposite direction.

Before she could even take one step, Tariq was on her like white on rice.

“Jayliah, stop!” he said as he grabbed her arm.

She turned around and tried to swing on him but he backed up. Coco stood in the middle of them.

“Not here and definitely not now. Tariq, your daughter is in your arms so chill out. You two can talk about this another time,” Coco said, trying to be the voice of reason.

Before Tariq or Jayliah could fix their mouths to say something about what Coco had just said, they were being interrupted by a loud mouth.

“Tariq, you really got me fucked up right now! Why the hell is my baby over here?”

Tariq spun around with fury in his eyes, “Shanae, shut up and watch your mouth, alright? I already told you about that foul mouth when you’re around her” he spat.

“Let’s go,” Jayliah said, pulling on Tariq’s arm.

“What?” both he and Coco asked, confused.

  “Where we going?” he asked.

“Give your daughter to her mother and chose, it’s either me or her because you can’t and you won’t have both,” Jayliah told him with a straight face.

“Jay, really?” Coco questioned her sister.

“Bitch, you can’t be serious if you think he’s going to pick you over us. I’ve been in his life before you even got a whiff of his dick and in case you haven’t noticed, I have a piece of him so I’m always going to be in his life. Even when he’s done playing with you,” Shanae laughed as she waved her off.

“Didn’t I tell you to shut up and watch what the fuck you say?” Tariq said through gritted teeth, now irritated.

He was not about to do this childish shit with these two in the middle of the mall. Shaking his head, he walked away from all of them with his daughter in his arm, leaving the two of them to stand there looking stupid.

“Let’s just go, Jay,” Coco said, pulling her along.

“Yea, before I have to put a bullet in this bitch for all that fly shit she keep talking,” Jayliah said as she looked Shanae up and down with cold eyes.

After her run in with Tariq at the mall, Jayliah was feeling physically and emotionally drained. All she wanted to do was lay down and eat ice cream for the rest of the day. She realized it had been a while since she had last talked to Marco and she missed his company.

  “What’s up, stra
nger? You good?”

“No, I miss my friend and I have too much bullshit going on in my life right now thanks to his brother,” Jayliah huffed.

  “Where you at?”

“On my home, meet me there?”

“I can do that for you,” Marco told her.

“Bring some strawberry ice cream with you, please?”

Marco chuckled in the phone but agreed to bring whatever she wanted and told her he was on his way to her house.

  Chapter Five

Zeek stood on the balcony of his mansion staring out into space. It had been a little over three weeks since he had been in Cuba and the only people that he’d had any communication with so far was his mother and Tariq. Since he was out of commission and his whole operation was basically under investigation, he gave the orders for Tariq to run things as he saw fit; after all, he is second in command.

Ever since he had been out of the States and away from the bullshit, he had some time to sit down and really think. Besides his cousins and Coco, there was only one other person that was close to him that could have possibly been working with Elias to help take him down; Chanel. At first she wasn’t even a thought in his mind because he thought she would know better than to ever cross him but he was obviously wrong.

Tariq was right; Coco had no reason or motive to turn on him. She was by his side and stuck with him even when he still had Chanel in the picture. It was Chanel who had all the ammunition that she needed to turn on him and set him up. He didn’t know when she started working with Elias nor did he care, but all he knew was she had to go. All the love he once had for her wasn’t even a factor right now because she knew his motto all too well. Death before dishonor.

“Señor Clay, you guest have arrived,” Maria, his maid, announced as she prepared to make his bed.

“Gracias,” Zeek told her as he came back into the room.
