That was my fee for dealing with her husband—she didn’t know about the theft and she wouldn’t connect it to me, if her husband ever let her find out. Likely, all she would know about was the jewelry, but Stride switched out his wife’s jewelry often enough that she might not even notice that.
I only wished that I could have kept coming back to Nancy; she was a pure delight in bed. But, alas, that was by no means an option. I had to disappear from Stride’s life, never to see him again.
