“I’ve never experienced anything so intense,” he stated breathlessly.
“Neither have I. Please say it won’t be the last time either,” she responded, prompting him to laugh.
An amused giggle escaped her when Koen tried to step back, practically tripping over the clothes gathered around his ankles. He managed to hold onto the condom and catch the edge of the counter and stabilize himself.
“Oh, you like that, do you, love?” he chastised with humor in his voice.
Stepping out of the offensive barriers, he walked half-naked around the bar into the kitchen, Delona eyeing his delightful bare bottom the whole time. She watched as he grabbed a paper towel from the dispenser, wrapped it around his member, and carefully discarded the used condom into the trashcan. He turned to face her with a boyish grin on his face. At that moment it occurred to her that this glorious man standing before her, the only one who seemed to always have her back, was truly in love with her. Better yet, he was all hers to do whatever she wanted with.
She felt herself smile broadly. “Come here,” she said, barely above a whisper. Their eyes stayed locked until he rounded the corner. Unable to control it, Delona allowed her gaze to fall to his semi-erect member as he made his way toward her.
“You know you can give a guy a big head by staring at him that way, love.”
“Hmmm, perhaps that was my intention.”
He let out a hearty laugh as they wrapped their arms around one another in a loose embrace, their foreheads reconnecting. “Which way to your room?” he queried.
“The one on the right side of the hall. Wait!” she ordered when he put his hands under her bottom to lift her.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. I just thought I should tell you that, when I went to lunch with Roger today, it was to tell him that I had fallen in love… with you, that is.”
The way his entire face beamed told her Koen was flying high at her proclamation of love. He kissed her wildly, every ounce of his love in that one act. He lifted her up, guiding her legs around his narrow waist, and carried her to her bedroom. The door closed behind them, shutting out the world to the two lovebirds as they continued their journey into what was to be a night full of passion.
Epilogue
Cara’s heart thumped like crazy as her climax approached. No matter what position they tried, the thick head moving in and out of her was always worth the trip across town. She shouted as her orgasm hit her hard, enjoying the strong arms that wrapped around her from behind as her partner followed suit. He eased them back onto the mattress, turning both of them onto their sides in the spooning position. She wanted to sleep, but Sonny wasn’t done with her yet.
“Come on, baby, it’s still early,” he murmured huskily into her ear.
Cara turned toward him, taking in his closely shaved hair, dancing almond-shaped eyes, and thick brown lips. He was the most gorgeous man she had ever laid eyes on, his light mocha skin adding to his beauty. That’s why it had been love at first sight when she had gone down to the studio to confront Andrew that Friday Delona had been on the show. Instead, she had run into Sonny. One look into those amazing deep brown eyes of his and she knew she was a goner.
“We have a lot to do tomorrow. Remember, maid-of-honor here,” she reminded him.
Sonny smiled. “I love the fact that they’re getting married on the same day she was supposed to apologize to Andrew. Good thing he relented after I told him how foolish he was being.”
“Don’t forget your threatening to quit if he didn’t. You know I love you for that,” she said, lightly rubbing his chest.
“I know you love me anyway.” Sonny kissed her lips gently. “Is she going to be your maid-of-honor at our wedding?”
“I’m not sure she’ll want to be after she finds out the truth.”
“You still haven’t told her?” he asked incredulously.
“It’s more fun not to.” She laughed at her own mischief. “Do they really need to know that list of losers came from you or how Renee helped out by directing Edward Rainer to the Lakers game? She was the first one to realize they should be together in the first place. I can only hope that Delona will someday understand how much Renee really loves her and actually looks out for her as if she were her own daughter. I still don’t think Dee knows that Renee’s keen insight is partly responsible for her brother and Danny’s riches.” Cara closed her eyes and turned over with the intention of taking a much needed nap. “Koen is just about perfect. Too bad he’s not rich like the guys in Delona’s books, not that it matters,” she added before sleep officially carried her away.
“What do you mean ‘not rich like the guys in Delona’s books’? Koen Ferreira is no bum.”
“Who the hell is Koen…” Cara’s eyes flew open, and she shot up in bed, fully awake now. “You mean to tell me our Koen, Koen Smith, is the Koen Ferreira!” she shouted.
“One and the same,” Sonny said, laughing as he gazed upon her face.
“The billionaire? The guy who founded and owns Ferreira’s yachts and cruise lines?” Cara continued in shock. Sonny nodded. “Holy sh—”

Finding Love for a Cynic
Synopsis
After years of diligently working on her degree in creative writing, Delona Raes was finally ready to take the world by storm – or so her family decided that she was. They convinced her to pack her bags and journey to the opposite side of the country to work as senior editor for her brother’s budding publishing company. That lapse in judgment came back to bite them. None of them could have guessed how unprepared the young woman was for the culture change.
That was until Koen Smith stepped in as the new public relations representative. There’s just one problem. Although he’s what she needs, in more ways than one, Delona doesn’t want him around. Koen, however, has a different take on the situation. He can’t seem to be around her enough.
