Cheers and claps followed the announcement, and for the first time, Tatum felt a combination of being precious and powerful. She was a sexy female in Luke’s eyes and was a beta in the lives of the shifters that she loved. Tears blurred her vision, but she fought them back, refusing to let any more of them fall.
Luke shook hands with the males as his chest stuck out proudly, making her heart soar. Tatum received hugs and pats on the back.
When Tatum looked up, Eli gave her a nod and began to sign to her. You’re finally accepting who you are. You’re happy. That’s all I ever wanted for you.
Tatum smiled and winked to her brother. She signed, Thank you, Eli.
After everyone headed to their sleeping areas, Enoch walked over to them. He placed his large palm on both of their shoulders, grinning.
He looked at Luke. “You better take care of my beta.”
Luke nodded. “With my life, Alpha.”
Enoch turned to Tatum. “Congratulations, Beta.”
“Thank you, Alpha.”
Enoch took Jenny and walked her upstairs to their room.
Tatum took Luke’s hand and led the way to his bedroom feeling completely exhausted from the emotional roller coaster she had just been on.
Luke shut the door behind them, clicked off the lights, and pulled her over to the bed. He tucked her into his stomach, placed one leg in between hers, and buried his face in her hair. There was a peace that ran over her, and it was unlike anything she had ever felt.
He gave the back of her neck and head numerous kisses while murmuring words of affection and love in her ear. Their true mating connection ran from his arms into her and back again, joining them—heart, body, and soul.
Their bodies hummed with need, but they were also tired. Soon, they were falling asleep. Tatum was comforted by the fact that Luke loved everything about her, faults included. No matter what happened from here on out, they would always belong together, always be in love, and no one would ever be able to convince her otherwise.
