“Do you mean it?” Beck asked with a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

“Absolutely. It’s obvious this town means something to you. It’s also obvious that the Delgados are important to you as well. I will drop the idea of opening a large supermarket and instead will look into helping the antique mall get back on its feet.”

“That’s great! I can’t wait to tell them!” Beck said, excited and happy once again. “Can we visit them tomorrow and let them know?”

“I don’t know. We will see. I can call and check on her in a little while and see if she’ll be up for some visitors.”

  “Thanks, Mom.”

“You need to get to your room and think about your part in what happened today,” she replied.

  “Yes, ma’am.”

A few days later, Beck, Moe and Joanna paid the Delgados a visit. They explained they would not be pursuing building a business in town. Moe asked some questions about the antique mall’s owner and, because of their history, Esteban offered to help Moe convince Kirk Enders that it was time to sell to someone who could really turn the business around. Moe instead decided that he just wanted to partner with Mr. Enders so he could be a part of the small town life and small town business.

Ru remained healthy, and so did the baby. It was not long after the hospital incident that she felt the baby move for the first time, and soon her belly began to grow. The people in town all were so excited for her and her students doted on her like she was a queen. Opal began growing jealous that Ru was getting all of the attention when they went out, so Esteban made it a point to spend extra time with her.

Winter came to Willow Crossing, and with it came the holidays. All was well with Willow Crossing. March brought the birth of little Maribel Theresa Delgado, a beautiful little angel. Esteban and Ru couldn’t have been happier, and they loved being able to share her with the great people of Willow Crossing. Living there meant that their daughter had a huge extended family that would be there to watch her grow. Opal grew to be very protective of Maribel, and when the baby would cry, Opal would make sure Ru or Esteban knew it instantly. Things all came together, and finally things were going the way they should for the time being.
