Unexpected Love (South Coast Brothers Book 5) Page 11

by Kacey Hamford

Once we pulled in through the gates to the school that I worked in, and Nate attended, Solar found a parking space and started getting out of the car.

  “I’ll be ok. Wait here.”

“Not a chance, flower.” He opened up the back door for Nate and he climbed out and grasped his hand. We walked in through the school gates like a family; oh how I wished that was true. If you had asked me a year ago if I ever saw myself dating a guy dressed in leather, full of tattoos and part of an MC, I would have laughed in your face. I was a typical ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ person but I had judged him all wrong from the very start. The very thing I liked about him most was his protectiveness of us, I liked to think it wasn’t only because he was getting paid to do it. Speaking of, I needed to talk to the Prez again. I hated being in debt to anyone and I owed the Cornish Crusaders a lot.

“Hi, Jasmine.” I looked up to see Lana, she was the teaching assistant for year two.

“Hi, what are you doing here?” I asked, pointing to the desk she was sitting at.

“Oh, just filling in for Eden. We had a phone call telling us that she would be away for a little while.”

“Who made that call?” Solar asked. Lana looked at me and rose her eyebrow in question.

“Lana, this is Solar,” I introduced them.

“Who made that call?” Solar asked again.

“Um… Let me check.” She moved the mouse around and tapped a few buttons on the keyboard. “Oh, here it is. They didn’t leave a name.”

“Do you have a number?” She nodded. “Write it down.”

  “I…”

“Do it,” he barked, making her jump. I placed my hand on his arm and looked at him, trying to tell him to calm down. She passed him the piece of paper and he immediately pulled his phone out.

“Ah, Jasmine, Nathan. It’s great to see you. Come on in,” Ms. Philips, the headmistress of the school said. She was in her early forties, long black hair that was always tied up into a fancy knot. She always wore a pencil skirt, blouse and heels. I looked over my shoulder to see that Solar was on the phone so we headed in without him.

“Can I get you two a drink?” she offered.

“No, thank you. We’re fine.” We sat in the chairs opposite her desk and she started firing questions at me. How were we? Are we in any more danger? When did we want to come back? All stuff like that. We talked for about thirty minutes and at the end of the meeting, we had confirmed that Nate and I would return the following Monday, which was in four days’ time. Nate was excited to see his friends again and I was eager to get back to the job that I loved.

“Thank you.” I smiled before we left the room. I couldn’t see Solar waiting outside the room for us so we made our way outside. He was pacing up and down in front of my car. As we got closer, I could see the frustration on his face.

“Hey,” I said as I opened up the back door for Nate to climb in.

“Good, let’s go,” he said as he rounded the car and jumped in and started the engine before I had even climbed inside.

  “What’s going on?”

  “We got a lead.”

“Are you needed back at the club?”

“Nah, I’m staying with you. What did you wanna do today?”

“Can we head back to my house? I need to get some stuff sorted.”

“Sure. What do you need to do?”

“It’s someone’s b-i-r-t-h-d-a-y tomorrow.” I spelt it out for him, nodding my head towards the backseat. “I have presents, I just need to arrange something to do.”

  “Leave that to me.”

  “Really?”

“Yeah. What else do you need to do?”

“We’re headed back to school on Monday so I need to organise for that. Teaching plans, uniforms and all that stuff.”

“Monday? But it’s still not completely safe.”

  “We’ll be fine.”

“Someone will be going with you,” he stated as he pulled into my driveway.

“Fine, but they have to stay outside.”

“We’ll see.” We all climbed out of the car and headed inside.

“I’m going to watch TV!” Nate yelled, throwing his coat on the floor and kicking off his shoes. I sighed and trailed behind him, picking up the items.

  “What needs doing, flower?”

“I need to make some lunch, put the washing on, hoover and clean this place. Sort out my books for work and Nate’s too.”

“I’ll make lunch, you start on something else.”

“And you’ll organise tomorrow? You sure?”

“Yeah, I’m doing it now.” He waved his phone at me and I strutted off to get a load of dirty clothes.

  ***

“Oh my god, I’m exhausted.” I sighed as I fell onto the sofa next to where Solar was sitting. He had a beer in his hand and was flicking through the TV channels looking for something to watch. I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder. His arm lifted and then the TV went silent. I opened my eyes to see that he had turned it off.

“You ok?” I asked. He sat forward and braced his forearms on his knees.

“I really like you, you know.”

“I really like you too,” I admitted, placing my hand on his back. “What’s this about?”

  His body turned towards mine.

“I’ve not had an easy life and up until now, I’ve never wanted anyone to know about it.”

“I want you to tell me, I want to know everything about you.”

“Even if it means you may hate me? You may want me nowhere near you after I tell you.”

“Please, Aiden. Open up to me.”

“I didn’t have an easy child hood.”

“I don’t think any of us did.” I giggled. “Annoying siblings, puberty and school.”

“Mine wasn’t the average upbringing.” He climbed to his feet and paced in front of me. I pulled my feet up underneath my body and kept my eyes on him. “My mum walked out on me and my dad. She just up and left. I don’t remember her, dad said I was only about two.”

  “Oh, I’m sorry.”

“He told me she left because she didn’t love me, that she never wanted a kid and that I drove her away with my neediness.”

“No,” I whispered and shook my head.

“Things were ok at home until I turned thirteen and that’s when it started. The hits, kicks, punches. All I had to do was one little thing wrong and he took it out on me.”

  “Did you tell someone?”

“Who did I have to tell? No one was interested in me, I barely scraped through school. Dad was never interested. He was hardly home and when he was, I got the beatings I never deserved.”

  “What happened?”

  “I killed him.”

  Chapter 17

  Solar

I was too scared to look at her, to see the reaction that would be covering her face; the hate that she would now look at me with.

“Aiden,” she whispered. I continued to pace in her small living room while I squeezed the back of my neck with my left hand and balled my right one into a fist.

“Talk to me,” she demanded. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at her, she was sitting forward on the sofa. “Tell me what happened.”

I was exhausted after the long day I had at the Cornish Crusaders, I was a prospect and cleaning bikes all day out in the blistering sun was not my idea of fun. I had joined the MC as a way to get away from my father, he had spent the last five years beating on me and I’d had enough. I needed to get away. I had heard great things about the CC, that they welcomed newbies, treated them as part of the family and if I done well as a prospect, I’d be patched in and have a family for life. A brotherhood.

My dad had called me and said he needed to talk to me, I was hesitant but I went anyway. As soon as I walked in through the back door, he took a swing at me but I managed to dodge him which made him stumble. He grasped hold of the kitchen table and glared at me, I knew straight away that dodging him was a b
ig mistake.

“If you just wanted me to come here to pound on me, then I’m leaving.” I turned around to leave.

  “Your mother did love you.”

“What?” I spun around. “You said she hated me.”

“I lied. She left because of me. I used to take my anger out on her; beat her and raped her. She never gave it up willing anymore, not like a wife is supposed to do.”

“Are you hearing yourself? You’re not right in the head.”

“She still left you with me, knowing that I would eventually beat you. She only thought about saving herself. You were a mistake, one we should have aborted.” I turned around to leave and he pushed at my back, causing me to stumble. I clenched my fists tight. He kicked at my leg which caused me to fall to the ground. I spun around to see that he had started loosening his belt and jeans. Sick creeped up my throat and I had to swallow it down. I pushed to my feet and charged at him, punching him square in the face. He went down like a lead balloon and didn’t move. I needed to leave, get the hell away from here, but what if he went after me again? Or my brothers? Or some other innocent woman?

“You never learn, do you? You can’t beat me, I’m bigger and stronger than you.” I looked up to see that he was standing in front of me, he was a couple inches taller than me but he was a lot broader than I was. He flew at me and we ended back on the floor. He punched me in the ribs and I got a few shots in to his stomach and face. He rolled off me and grasped at his stomach. I used the opportunity to punch him more and more. He would never hurt me again, or anyone else for that matter. He was always full of lies, telling me that my mum didn’t want me, that she didn’t love me. She couldn’t have, else she would never have left me with him.

“Hey, stop! Stop!” Hands grabbed at my arms and I was pulled off of my old man. I looked up to see Tug and Slick holding me back. They were the oldest members of the Cornish Crusaders. They sat me on a kitchen chair and I looked over at my dad. Shit, what had I done?

  “He’s dead,” Tug said.

“Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit,” I chanted.

“We can get the clean-up crew on this,” Slick added.

“No.” I shot to my feet. “I have to call the police, admit what I’ve done.”

“Are you sure about that, Aiden?” Slick asked. I nodded. “You killed him, you could go to prison for life.”

“It’s worth it. At least he won’t be able to hurt anyone else.”

“We’re not having one of ours go down for murder,” Tug said as he punched me in the face; several times. Blood poured out of my nose and my eye was already swelling shut.

  “What the fuck?” I complained.

“Now it looks like self-defence.” He looked pleased with himself.

“I’ll call it in,” Slick said as he dug his phone out of his pocket.

“Sorry, boy. I need to knock you out.” I saw his fist coming for me and felt the hard ground beneath my body before passing out.

“You see, flower? I’m no good for you.” She shot to her feet and threw herself at me; I had to catch her.

“It was self-defence. You had to do what you had to do to survive.”

“It was a shame the police didn’t see it that way.” She pulled back and looked up at me. “When I came around, I was questioned; lots of times. It went to trial. They concluded that the marks on his body were older than mine and although it was self-defence, I caused grievous bodily harm, so I went down.”

  “For how long?”

“I was sentenced to five years but due to bad behaviour, I ended up doing seven.”

“Aiden,” she scolded me like I was a five year old.

“It’s done now and this is why we can’t be together. You’re sweet and innocent and I’m a criminal.”

“Sweet and innocent, huh?” she asked. I nodded and she launched herself at me again. I held on to her as she slammed her lips onto mine and wrapped her legs around my waist. “Sofa,” she mumbled between kisses while pushing my leather cut off my shoulders. I strolled over to the sofa, loving the way my hardness pushed against her heat as I walked. She ground herself over me a couple of times before climbing off me. She grabbed the TV remote and switched it over to the music channel, Def Leppard – Pour Some Sugar on Me, came on and she strolled away from me and stripped out of her clothes. Once she was standing in just her dark green bra and boy shorts, she bent over and fluffed her hair. As the intro of the music played, she swished her way over to me, rocking her hips. Fuck yeah, she was going to give me a lap dance. Once the lyrics started, she stood with a leg either side of one of my legs and dipped her hips slightly, swaying to the music. Her hands ran up into her hair and she carried on torturing me with her sexy body in front of me. Every time I tried to touch her, she slapped my hands away. I almost lost all control when she stood up onto the sofa, a foot each side of my hips, and thrusted into my face. I could smell her arousal and I was painfully hard. She then did this sexy as hell move where she swung her hips and lowered her body, almost touching me but not quite. I lost all of control, grabbed her hips and ran for her bedroom. I threw her onto her bed where she bounced a couple of times.

“Lose the underwear, now,” I growled while shedding my clothes and covering my cock with a condom. I glanced around the room trying to figure out where the best place to take her was. I grabbed her ankle and dragged her down the bed. I fell to my knees and rammed my tongue inside of her, holding her open with my hands. She rocked against my face and grabbed a fist full of my hair. She complained when I stopped. I knew she was about to explode and I wanted to feel that around my cock. I grabbed her by the hips and lifted her up as she wound her legs around my waist and arms around my neck. I pushed her onto the outside wall; I didn’t want Nate hearing this. I started kissing her again and was pleased when she opened up so I could slip my tongue inside. She hummed in approval and rotated her hips.

“Hold on, flower.” I stilled her hips and pulled her slightly away from the wall, her top back was pushed against the wall and I lined up and pushed inside her in one big long stroke. Her walls immediately started pulsing and I rocked in and out a few more times, the moans coming from her spurred me on and I didn’t let up.

“Aiden, please. Deeper, harder,” she pleaded. I pulled her off the wall and climbed back on the bed. I laid her flat on her back and hovered over her. My hands were either side of her head and she stretched her legs over my shoulders.

“You’re going to need to be quiet,” I told her. She nodded and rolled her hips, fuck, I loved it when she did that. I drew back and slammed back in to her, over and over again. I didn’t let up, not one bit, the sweat was building between us and the sound of our skin slapping together was what had me going faster, harder. Her walls clamped down around me and I knew she was about to scream. I took all of my weight on my left arm and covered her mouth with my right hand. She screamed and bit into my hand to keep quiet and that was what set me off and I stilled as I poured out my release. Once I knew she would be quiet, I released her mouth and kissed her; they were only short, sweet kisses as we both struggled to breathe.

“Ok, I take it back. My flower is not sweet and innocent. She is hot and sexy as fuck.” She giggled and I pulled out of her, holding onto the ring of the condom. “Fuck!” I swore.

“What’s wrong?” She looked up at me.

“The condom broke.” Her face paled and she sat up. My release dripped from her body and she jumped up and ran into the bathroom. A couple of minutes later, she walked back in, her dressing gown covering her body.

  “I found the other bit.”

“Are you on the pill?” She shook her head. “Why the hell not?”

“Because I can’t. They give me blood clots. Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll be fine.” She climbed back into bed after slipping off her dressing gown and covered the wet patch with a towel.

“Fine?” I snapped, still freaking out. “You’re obviously a fertile woman.”

“Why? Just because I have a son?
” She sat back up in bed, clutching hold of the sheet to keep her breasts covered. I had pulled on my jeans and t-shirt.

“Well, was he planned or an accident?”

“Don’t you ever call my son an accident! Get the fuck out of my house!” she shouted, pointing at her bedroom door.

“Flower.” I sighed, not meaning what I had said. I was just worried about the possibility of her being pregnant. I couldn’t have a kid, I wasn’t dad material. I’d fuck it up in some way, just like I seemed to have done to our relationship.

“I mean it, Solar. Get out.”

“You know I can’t leave you here alone.”

“Fine, sleep in the car.” She laid down in the bed and pulled the duvet up and over her head. I wasn’t sure if I heard her crying or not but I wanted to comfort her but knew she didn’t want me near her. I grabbed the rest of my shit and walked out of her bedroom and just prayed like fuck that I hadn’t ruined the best thing to happen in my life.

  Chapter 18

  Jasmine

“Happy birthday, dude!” Solar called out as me and Nate walked around the corner and into the kitchen. I hadn’t expected him to be in here; he caught me off guard.

“Thanks, Solar.” He smiled as he sat at the kitchen table in front of his pile of presents.

“I made you a special breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes.” He placed the plate in the middle of the table and Nate’s eyes widened.

  “Yes! I love pancakes.”

“Dig in.” Nate didn’t waste any time as he shovelled pancake after pancake in his mouth. “Slow down, dude.” Solar chuckled as he placed a glass of milk in front of him. I went to walk past him to put the kettle on and he grabbed hold of my waist, stopping me.

  “What?” I sighed.

“I’m sorry about last night.” He went to kiss me and I turned my head, causing it to land on my cheek.

“Ok.” I pulled out of his grasp and flicked the switch to the kettle on.

“I made you a cup of tea.” He pointed at my ‘mum’ mug that was on the table. “Just the way you like it; tea bag, one and a half sugars, hot water and then the milk.”
