  I reckon there’s some truth to that.

  Why, some enterprising soul with nothing else to do with his or her life could put together quite a genealogy to prove that fact. Maybe they could use such tidbits to stump players in a trivia game some day.

  However, that’s not my calling.

  I’m too busy writing more stories.

  About the Author

  Stephen Bly (1944-2011) wrote more than 105 fiction and nonfiction books, including many historical and contemporary western novels. He co-authored (with wife Janet) more than 18 books.

  In 2002 he was the Christy Award Winner, Westerns, for The Long Trail Home. He was Christy Award Finalist, Westerns, for Picture Rock, and in 2003 a Christy Award Finalist, Westerns, for Last of the Texas Camp and The Outlaw’s Sister.

  From 1999 to 2007, he was mayor of Winchester, Idaho, and from 1990 to 2011, pastor of Winchester Community Church. He’s been a speaker for men’s, couples, family and writers’ conferences in both the US and Canada and roving editor, Big Show Journal. He’s been a mentor for the Jerry B. Jenkins’ Christian Writers Guild.

  Stephen was married to Janet Chester Bly for nearly 48 years. He is father to Russell, Michael, and Aaron. The family includes daughters-in-law, Lois, Michelle & Rina Joye, plus grandkids: Zachary, Miranda (and husband Chris), Keaton and Deckard, and great-granddaughter, Alayah.

  In 1971, Stephen graduated Fresno State University, summa cum laude, with a degree in Philosophy. He received his M. Div. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1974.
