The Secret Wolf (A Full Moon Mercy Novel) (shifter / MC romance) Page 14

“I don’t want normal,” Leah said. “I want you, Lucas. Take me. Cure me. Right now. Make everything feel right.”

Lucas kissed Leah. They skipped the sweet formality of a soft lipped kiss and went right into the deep passionate kiss. Tasting Leah’s mouth made Lucas stiffen and throb. He stepped to the bed, lifting Leah off the ground.

He placed her on the bed and hovered right over her body. His eyes scanned her, looking at every piece of skin, freckle, and curve. Leah was like a beautiful, complicated puzzle, all put together for Lucas’s needs.

As he lowered himself to Leah, he felt her warmth and desire gently opening. Leah clawed at his back, already arching her own back. She moaned as Lucas thrust. He had just entered her and she was already quivering for more.

“It’s okay,” Lucas whispered again. “Relax.”

Easier said than done, Lucas knew that. He suppressed the deep urge to just thrust deep into Leah and worked himself into her. Doing so allowed him to feel every part of her body. The welcoming heat and moisture. The comfortable depth. The pull from the inside of Leah’s body, her desire wanting him.

Lucas then slowly pulled from Leah and thrust back into her. Leah let out a cry and then had her hands to Lucas’s neck. She pulled and brought her mouth to his mouth, kissing him again. That’s when Lucas began to thrust harder and faster at Leah. Her body welcomed him over and over, easing and conforming to his thickness and speed of his passion.

When their kiss broke, Leah let out another cry. She quickly began to come and Lucas didn’t stop. He stayed with her body, lowering himself to her, wanting to feel her tight against him. There he stayed, the heat and racing hearts going wild. He then rolled to his back, forcing Leah on top. The move was so fast, it threw Leah’s hair everywhere. She was a beautiful mess on top of him, her hands at his stomach as she began to hurry and lift and lower herself, not missing a second of pleasure. Lucas admired her body again and again, watching how she put her head back when the pleasure grew to a climatic point again. After Leah’s second orgasm, Lucas couldn’t contain himself any longer. His own urge became impossible to control, the need to climax, the want to show Leah how perfect her body was for him and what she had done to him.

Lucas slapped his hands against Leah’s hips. The resulting crack was then matched by the sound of Leah crying out. Lucas turned and managed to keep himself deep in Leah’s body as he climbed back on top of her. He held her hips tight, tighter than maybe he should have, and thrust hard and fast, lasting just a few more times before finally reaching his finish.

As he came, he held his body tight to Leah’s. He tried kissing her but couldn’t. He needed to bury his head into Leah’s neck and pillow, growling and groaning. The sounds were deep and more animal than human. Each time Lucas came he thrust forward, forcing himself deep into Leah. As he thrust, Leah moaned. Their bodies were in sync together and when he finally stopped, he let out a long breath but didn’t remove himself from Leah’s body. He didn’t want to. The urge may have climaxed. His need was maybe satisfied. But there was more to it with Leah. He wanted to remain on her, in her. He wanted to look into her eyes. He wanted to move the random sweaty strands of hair off her face, taste her breath, lick her lips, experience what it felt like to have real passion in his hands, eyes, heart, and body.

Lucas lingered for minutes until he finally moved from Leah’s body. On his side, he pulled Leah close. Her leg wrapped around him. He was soft now but still thick. When her warm center touched him, he felt his cock tighten, threatening to harden again.

  “What now?” Lucas whispered.

“What do you mean?” Leah asked.

“Your eyes are speaking faster than your mouth probably ever could,” Lucas said. “What else do you want to know?”

Leah looked down at Lucas’s chest. “I knew it. From the second you came from the woods. The way you moved and acted, I knew you wouldn’t hurt me.”

“It surprised me,” Lucas said. “How you listened.”

“You weren’t supposed to do that, were you?”

“Honestly? No. The best case scenario would have been it you were still in the car. Then you would have been driven away.”

  “And killed," Leah said.

  Lucas swallowed. “And killed.”

“Are you angry that I climbed out of the window?”

Lucas smiled. “No. I’ve never felt so connected to someone before.”

“Do you say that to every woman you take to bed?”

“Leah, no. It's not like that. When I… when I feel you, there’s this passion in me. I never experienced it before. I can't get enough of you. I don’t want to be away from you. And now you know my secret.”

“The secret of the motorcycle club?” Leah asked.

“Are you suggesting there’s more like me?” Lucas asked.

  “I saw the other guy…”

  Cooper.

  “Yeah, I guess you did.”

  “He looked angry. Dangerous.”

“He’s learning how to control himself,” Lucas said. “That’s all.”

  “Can you control yourself?”

The question came from Leah shakily. Lucas looked into her eyes and experience something he feared. Not only was this a woman he cared for, but it was also a woman afraid of who he really was.

“You’re afraid,” Lucas said. “You think I’d hurt you?”

“I didn’t say that,” Leah whispered. “I’m just curious. Why did the other man change and do what he did?”

“He couldn’t help it,” Lucas said. “The hunger inside him got the best of him. It’s not easy to control sometimes, Leah. But just know I would never hurt you. I can control myself. I can handle it.”

“Like you did when we went to the mountain?” Leah asked.

Lucas felt his heart sink. “I could smell what he was. What he could become. I had to chase him away and handle things in the woods like I did.”

  “Did you kill a man?”

  “Leah…” Lucas touched her face.

  “Please, tell me.”

Sincerity flooded Leah’s eyes. Lucas knew she was interested, non-judging.

“Yes,” Lucas said. “I had to kill someone that day.”

“Were you Lucas… or were you… something else?”

“I was me,” Lucas said. “I’m always me. What I do and what I need to do is for safety and protection. If I hadn’t killed someone, they would have tried to kill you.”

  “Does it hurt?”

  Leah shut her eyes.

  “Does what hurt?” Lucas asked.

  “When you become it?”

“No. It just happens. I feel it from deep within my heart. That’s what grows first. My heart needs to hurry and pump all the extra blood throughout my body, allowing everything to expand.”

“I mean… well, were you born like this?”

“Leah, why are you asking this?”

Leah tucked her head into Lucas’s chest. He took deep breaths and then felt something moist against his chest. Leah was weeping.

  “Leah… talk to me.”

“I want to become one,” Leah said. “Like you. So I can’t get hurt. So I can’t die. So I don’t have to feel the pain I’ve been feeling.”

Lucas lifted his head. “Do you think I’m immortal?”

  “Aren't you?”

  “Why would you think that?”

“I saw Richie shoot you,” Leah said. “And before, there were guns and gunshots. But you and the other guy didn’t get hit.”

“Leah, it doesn’t work like that.”

“Can you die?” Leah asked, her eyes wide.

Lucas caressed her cheek with his thumb. “Everyone and everything dies.”

“So even if I was like you, I could die.”

“I could die tonight,” Lucas said. “Right in my sleep. I could die tomorrow in a motorcycle accident. In an ambush from another crew.”

“But as a wolf?” Leah asked, sounding hopeful.

“As a wolf…”

Lucas trailed off. There were more questions than answers, even for Lucas. Hell, as far as Lucas knew, Vincent still didn’t know everything about being a wolf. What it meant. What it implied. The power. The urges. Living, dying, falling in love.

“I think some things are better left to think about,” Lucas whispered.

He leaned and kissed Leah. Now came the gentle kissing. Kiss after kiss, Lucas began to find himself pressing tighter to Leah, leaning toward her, slowly climbing on top of her.

Lucas then abruptly stopped. “Leah, do you trust me?”

  “Yes,” Leah whispered.

“Are you sure? I’m sorry I can’t answer everything.”

“As long as you won’t leave me, I’ll know everything I need.”

“I’m not going anywhere,” Lucas said.

He kissed Leah again and his cell phone rang.

  “Not going anywhere?” Leah asked.

Lucas grabbed his phone and answered it.

“Vince,” Lucas said. “I’m sort of in the middle of something.”

“Yeah, well, roll off pretty little girl and come down to the club. I have to talk to you about something.”

“Can it wait until tomorrow?” Lucas asked.

“Would I have called right now if it could wait?” Vince asked.

Lucas could hear Vince rolling a cigar between his lips.

“I’ll be in in a little bit,” Lucas said.

He ended the call and dropped his phone. He put his hands to the bed and lifted himself from Leah’s body. As he stared at her naked body, he groaned. The night would be so much easier to handle just staying in Leah’s bed.

Lucas left the bed and stood before it fully naked. He turned and watched as Leah sat up, taking the covers with her. There was something so freeing about being naked, Lucas almost wished he could remain so in human form. Then he caught sight of his leather jacket on the floor and smiled. It was actually much more comfortable as a human wearing that jacket. His calling. His badge of honor, for himself, for the crew, and for the town of Mercy. For all those eyes who looked away when he rode by, if they only could understand it all.

Lucas offered his hand to Leah and she took it. “You’re coming with me.”

  “I’m… what?”

“You’re coming with me,” Lucas said. “You’re all mine now, Leah. I’m not going anywhere without you.”

  “Anywhere?”

“Well, almost anywhere,” Lucas said with a smile. “You come with me to the club and just stay in my room. That’s all.”

  “Can I asked who called?”

“Vince did. He needs to talk to me.”

“Is about what happened on the mountain?”

“That seems to be the biggest problem I have right now,” Lucas said.

He pulled his jeans up and zipped them. He reached for his shirt and leather jacket.

“Get up and get dressed,” Lucas said. “Or else I’ll take you out of here naked. Doesn’t bother me, but I’m sure it’ll make the motorcycle ride a little uncomfortable.”

Leah laughed. She threw the covers from her body and began to dress herself. Lucas sat on the edge of the bed and watched Leah dress. He was rock hard within seconds and it made him hate the idea even more of leaving Leah’s apartment.

They finally did leave and took the ride to the club.

It was dark, the actual club was loud and busy, along with the top bar with some of the guys from Full Moon Mercy. When Lucas saw Vince sitting at the bar, a bottle and a shot glass in front of him, he whistled.

Vince raised a shot glass but quickly put it down when he saw Leah.

He stood from the barstool and his eyes were on fire.

Leah took quick notice. "I'm not supposed to be here."

"Yes, you are," Lucas said. "Stay right with me."

Lucas took Leah by the hand and walked her to Vince. He then let her hand go so he could hug Vince. Lucas squeezed him tight.

"Don't look so shocked," Lucas said.

"Clean flesh," Vince whispered, but not quiet enough so Leah wouldn't hear.

"Nothing to worry about," Lucas said. "I'm taking claim. We're going to my room for the moment. What do we need to talk about?"

Vince smiled and sat back on his barstool. He had a cocky grin to him. He knew something Lucas didn't.

"We're going to be celebrating soon," Vince said.

  "Reckingdune?" Lucas asked.

"Beyond that," Vince said. "You and I will take care of our problem on the mountain very soon."

Lucas reached back for Leah's hand. "Let me get settled and we can talk. Conference room?"

Vince nodded and took his shot glass. He raised it up and said, "I'll drink to that, Lucas. I'd hate to say anything in front of your friend here."

Lucas glanced and Leah and winked. Vince was being a prick because he could be. There was nothing Lucas could do about it, not that there would be any reason to actually care what Vince thought or felt. Even still, Lucas didn't like the look on Vince's face.

"Give me a few minutes," Lucas said. "Okay?"

"Sure thing, bro," Vince said. "I'm going to enjoy my drink here. And another."

Lucas squeezed at Leah's hand and then started to walk. As he walked along the bar, Lucas felt like everyone was looking at him. He could sense them thinking something of him. Maybe it was because of Leah, but he doubted it. Whatever kind of meeting Vince wanted was probably going to end up in an argument and eventually would lead to bloodshed.

That would be a situation Lucas could deal with when the time came. Until then, he just wanted to get Leah into his room. And judging by the smug look that had been on Vince's face, Lucas felt tempted to maybe enjoy Leah a little before rushing to the conference room.

At Lucas's door, Leah tugged at his hand.

  "What's wrong?" Lucas asked.

"Is this okay? I mean, me being here? I can go. You can take me home and then come back. I don't want to be in the way."

"You're not in the way," Lucas said. "Don't let anyone here bother you. They're jealous of me."

"Of course they are," Leah said.

Lucas kissed her head. "Nothing to worry about once we go into this room. Nobody is allowed near my room. They know better."

Lucas opened the door and held it for Leah. When he saw the woman sitting on the edge of his bed, one hand on her stomach, his lip snarled. It was at that exact same moment he looked at Leah, seeing the look on her face.

"What are you doing here?" Lucas asked.

  "Who is this?" Leah asked.

"Who are you?" the woman shot back.

  "I..."

"No," Lucas said. "Get the fuck out of my room."

Lucas watched the woman struggle to get to her feet. Her hand was still on her stomach. A feeling came over him, one he couldn't ignore and one that scared the hell out of him.

The woman smiled. Lucas didn't really recognize her, not with her clothes on at least. She was some stripper he had had some fun with. Nothing more.

"I don't think you're going to want to kick me out," she said.

  "Why's that?" Lucas asked.

"Because I'm pregnant, Lucas. With your... whatever it is."

  22

Leah backed up. She was out of the bedroom but still looking inside. The look of the woman on Lucas's bed was that of... nasty. She hated to judge anyone, but when it came to Lucas, her feelings suddenly turned her into a bitter teenager, fighting over a body. Leah swore she could see glitter on the woman's skin. Her appearance was that of a fake beauty, meaning she was probably a stripper or maybe even a prostitute. It seemed hard to imagine, but it was the reality staring at her.

"You can probably leave now," the woman said. "I have to talk to Lucas in private."

"No," Lucas bellowed as he reached for Leah.

Leah made sure to stay out of his reach. She feared Lucas touching her because it may trigger a reaction she never had before. She envisioned slapping him across the f
ace. She envisioned kissing him, wanting to make this other woman jealous, showing her that Leah was the only one for Lucas. The jealousy in Leah's veins was like nothing she felt before. It made her heart race and her face burned red.

"Nobody is leaving but you, Debbie," Lucas said.

"You really know her," Leah said.

She was hurt. For a moment, Leah considered the possibility that maybe this woman - Debbie - was just crazy, looking for attention.

  "I know her," Lucas said.

"He fucked me," Debbie said. "And got me pregnant."

There it was again. That word. Pregnant.

"You're making this up," Lucas said.

Debbie lifted her shirt, showing a slightly bulged stomach. It wasn't extra skin due to unhealthy eating. The skin was pushed. A baby was inside her, making room for itself.

"I don't believe this," Lucas said.

"I do," Debbie said. "Two weeks ago... when we..."

"I have to go," Leah said. "I can't stand here and listen to this."

  "Don't go," Lucas pleaded.

"You really want to do this to this poor woman?" Debbie asked. "You're a heartless prick, Lucas."

Lucas stepped from the room and slammed the door. He stared at Leah, the fire radiating from his eyes straight into her body. It was a deadly look because it was the kind of look that could take everything Leah felt between right and wrong and would mush it all together leaving her under Lucas's full control.

  "Leah... I had no idea."

"Of course you didn't," Leah said. "I bet that's why they were all looking at you."

Lucas shook his head. "Sons of bitches."

"Just tell me the truth right now," Leah said. "Is it..."

"I've been with her, yes," Lucas said. "You know that was before you."

Lucas took a step toward Leah. She put her hand out and stopped him. "I know. I wouldn't judge you for that. But I won't stand here in the middle of this conversation."

  "What conversation?"

"That woman is pregnant," Leah said. "With your baby..."

The word baby came off Leah's tongue slow and concerning. Her mouth fell open as pieces of the puzzle started to fall before her. She knew nothing of Lucas's secret, of what it meant. Of what he could do. Of how it all worked.
