Sunset Heat Page 3

The lock clicked. Zach smiled, slowly counted to thirty as she’d instructed, then strode into the room. The vision greeting him stunned him. Seana sat at a table near the window dressed in a T-shirt and shorts. Her hair pulled to the sides in low ponytails curled over her shoulders. The binder with all the resort amenities, a substitution for a textbook, lay open in front of her, and she jotted stuff down on the hotel pad with the courtesy pen. The scene reminded him of the tutoring room.

  Almost exactly the same.

It was as if time melted away and the universe folded from one of those sessions long ago, bringing them straight to now. But instead of an awkward teenage girl, a beautiful woman sat in her place.

As instructed, he locked the door behind him. She peered his way, smiled, and the gesture sent fresh molten heat straight to the tip of his cock.

Forget pretending to act like some teen on the verge of doing homework. He was a man on a new mission.

He marched into the room, his sights set on her and only her. As he neared Seana, her chest hitched on a breath, and her gaze perused him from head to foot and back. Her eyes dilated as sexual vibes poured from her. He wanted her with a passion. The feeling for the woman scared him more than some of the missions he’d been on during his tours. Dumbfounded by the waves of need surging through him, he snatched her out of the chair and captured her mouth in a kiss, smothering her gasp.

Seana had stated they should let nature take its course and do what people—lovers, rather—would do for real. He had no problem with her intention, especially with her in his arms. He focused on Seana, how she molded to his body, clutched and kissed him back, seeming more than willing to take their date as far as it could go.

He swept his tongue into her mouth, tasting the sweet wine she’d drunk.

When Seana broke the kiss, disappointment almost cooled his ardor, but her lips trailed a hot, moist path to the side of his head. His sexual drive revved.

“I want you,” she whispered in his ear, following with a quick nibble on his lobe. “Here and now.”

Her verbal advance shocked her. Who knew I could be such a minx? And the way he ogled me when he came in the room. Dark bedroom eyes with me in their sights. Oh dear Lord. His lips claimed hers again.

Zach’s forceful, deep kiss curled her toes. All rational thought leaked away. She clawed at the folds of his jacket, divesting him of it as fast as she could. As she worked at the knot in his tie followed by the buttons on his shirt, his hands fed under her T-shirt to cradle and fondle her bare breasts while his mouth continued to ravish hers. Glad she hadn’t worn a bra, she savored his caresses and fidgeted with his belt.

He broke the kiss and placed his fingers on hers. “Whoa. Moving a bit fast here, aren’t we?”

“So? I want you.” She palmed his straining erection. “You obviously want me. Why not submit to our desires?” Emboldened by her blossoming seductress persona, she shoved him away playfully. Twirling a finger at him, she winked and blew a kiss. “Now get out of those clothes.”

“Yes, ma’am!” Clicking his heels together, Zach saluted.

Each piece of clothing he discarded revealed more of his amazing form. Chiseled torso. Corded arms and legs. Just the right amount of hair in all the places that count. A dream come to life, to her way of thinking. And all mine.

In a frenzy, she shucked what she wore, keeping her attention locked on him.

Erotic awareness throbbed strong and thick in her veins. Slowly, she licked her lips, trailed a finger down her breastbone, then reached out for the magnificent naked man standing before her.

“No. Not yet.” He arranged chairs to his right and left then picked her up and placed her on the table. “Put a foot on each seat and lean back. I want to admire you.”

A little shocked, she hesitated. Lights on. No covers to hide under. This is way different than what other guys wanted. But there’s a first time for everything. Posing spread-eagled, she closed her eyes. Cool air from a nearby vent wisped over her and emphasized her nakedness and vulnerability. So exposed. Yet, I feel uninhibited and powerful. Her heart slammed in her chest. Lusty quivers wracked her body.

Zach drew his fingers along her breasts and circled her nipples. “Beautiful.” His hot palms framed her mounds, lifted and kneaded them.

She sighed when he closed his mouth over one peak. He nipped her and then sucked on the hard nub. Tingles scurried through her chest. She moaned.

“Fancy that, do you?” He laughed, and her breasts tightened from the soft brush of air. “I know something else you’ll like.”

Zach sank to his knees and positioned himself between her legs. He traced a line along her inner thigh with soft, lingering pecks from her knee to her pussy. She sucked in a thin stream of breath, savoring the trail of heat he created on her skin. When he licked her sensitive folds and dipped for an all too brief but wonderful moment into her canal, she shifted her butt to allow him better access.

He kissed her navel. “You’re so nice and wet. Taste so sweet. I hate to stop, but….” Without finishing his statement, he stood.

She sat upright, immediately missing Zach’s heat when he stepped away. “What are you doing?”

Zach picked up his jacket from the floor, fiddled in the pockets, and removed his wallet. “Our protection.” Zach held up a blue foil packet, then tore it open. He rolled the rubber onto his cock.

A spike of heat hit her womb as she marveled over how easy he made the task look. It was a shame he had to cover such magnificence. “Ready for me, sugar?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” She offered him a sexy grin.

He grasped her hips and yanked her bottom to the edge of the table.

Oh, yes. Show me your strength. The few men she’d been with had either been rough without an underlying sense of caring or pretty bland. Zach embodied both qualities—strong and dominating, but also gentle in his explorations. He licked one of her nipples then the other.

An aching compulsion for human contact, specifically his, overwhelmed her. “Hold me, Zach. I want to feel your hard body against mine.”

  “Yeah?”

“Yep. I need to feel you against me…inside me.”

Without further words, he brought her close.

Hungry to become his, she maneuvered him so he stood snugly within the V of her legs. Zach’s sheathed cock rested on her nest of pubic hair yet wasn’t where she craved it. She reached down and guided the head of his penis into her.

The muscles in her pussy stretched and gave way to his entry. She’d feared being too tight and experiencing pain after such a long time of inactivity, but tremors vibrated in her core. Brief refrains of Madonna’s Like A Virgin sang in her thoughts. Seana encircled him with her legs to keep him close, not allowing any chances of separation. Playfully, she nibbled the crook of his neck.

“Oh my God, Seana. You’re so frickin’ tight.” Zach ground himself against her. His fingers dug into her ass cheeks, but he paused. “Wait. What?”

“What?” She parroted in a whisper, staying in the sexual haze and shimmying her hips.

He clutched the sides of her waist and stopped her. “You were humming.”

  She swallowed hard. I was?

  “Seana?” He shifted.

The slight movement of his penis fired up her insides. Oh, the Madonna song. “I’ll tell you later. Right now I just want to make love to you.”

Zach’s sturdy arms enveloped her. He kissed the side of her head and petted her back.

She pulled out of his embrace and leaned back on her forearms. The change in position rubbed their genitals together. A sublime firestorm raged in her body then doubled in its intensity.

A devilish smile crossed his face. In an easy motion, he hoisted her into his arms and carried her to the bed. The moment her backside hit the silk comforter, he covered her with his hot form. He kissed her lips, her cheeks, and neck, and trailed loving pecks down to her breasts. Once more he graced the mounds with his attentions. She
held his head to her. The soft curls of his hair tickled her palms, but she didn’t mind. The delicate sensation contrasted nicely with the scraping of his teeth on her areola.

He lifted his head. The intense stare of his hazel eyes held her prisoner, gleaming with formidable power and passion.

  “Grab my ass,” he commanded.

She clutched his firm glutes. So toned and in shape. Beautiful body.

Zach hovered over her. The gold bedcovering flattened beneath his hands on either side of her. Slow and steady he pumped his hips.

Her tension and lustful need grew to unbearable levels only he could alleviate. Each deepening thrust sent spasms tumbling through her. Pleasure flooded and whirled within her core. Her head spun. She arched her body and scratched her nails over his skin, relishing the intense rush of her blood and highly charged nerves. Too soon for her liking, her orgasm subsided and left her as limp as a rag doll.

Zach muttered something, but his guttural, strained tone made it impossible for her to understand what he’d said. He groaned and collapsed. His heart beat strong but fast, matching the cadence of hers.

“My lovely Seana. That was…wonderful…heavenly.” Zach rolled over, taking her with him. “Wow. I don’t have words….”

Content and elated by his praise, she covered him like a blanket. “I think you explained it well with those two adjectives.”

When he wrapped his arms around her, Seana snuggled against his chest. The weight wearing her down all those years lifted. No longer did she have to wonder what had happened to Zach nor why he did what he did. A light, tranquil feeling encompassed her. Her life could start fresh and, hopefully, include him.

“Zach? Couldn’t we hide up here the rest of the night?” she asked, twirling her finger in the small patch of hair running along his sternum. “Maybe order some room service and eat it off the palette of our bodies?”

He dabbed his lips on her forehead and cheek. “Sounds wonderful, but don’t you want to go to the dance?”

“I’m here with you, doing a kind of dancing which is much more fun.” She kissed his shoulder and rubbed her fingers over his nipple.

“Can’t argue with that.” He flipped her back onto the bed and nuzzled his face in the crook of her neck, giving her a raspberry.

Giggling, she playfully tried to fight him off.

At a trilling sound, Zach groaned. “My phone.” He found it and held it to his ear. “Russo…. You guys knew I wasn’t going to be available all the time tonight. Where’s Schuman at? Great…. Yes, I know I’m the lead. That’s why I delegated…. Okay, okay…. Yeah, I’ll be there in a bit….” He hung up. “Looks like we need to get downstairs after all. I have to handle some work stuff really quick, and then we’ll make an appearance at the party before we return to our little love den here.”

“Love den. I like it. Sure we just can’t stay? Enjoy each other some more?” She purred and stretched, hoping to entice him back into her bed.

“You’re a tempting minx.” He grinned, gathered his clothes and disappeared into the bathroom.

Yes. She smiled. I am now, and all because of you.

  Chapter Five

Round banquet tables with gold and white decorations lined the perimeter of the room. Buffet stations sat in the corners. A couple of bartenders at the portable bar on one side served drinks to the attendees.

Just like I imagined homecoming would be. And I’m here with Zach! Thinking about him and his touches, the firm but gentle way he loved her, sent a new surge of excitement whizzing along her nerves. She hadn’t put a wish in the drum yet, but she didn’t believe the charity could make the night never end and keep Zach from ever letting her go.

“Hey there, sugar.” Zach embraced her from behind, swaying to the music.

Seana leaned against him, watching the dancers glide past them in their beautiful clothes. “Is this what the black tie events in high school were like?”

“Are you telling me you never made it to a dance? No prom or anything?”

“Yep. Aside from you, no one ever asked. I didn’t go to any.” Would have sucked being a wallflower when I was such a nerd to begin with.

“Well, we’ll need to dance, drink some spiked punch, and maybe we’ll win our wishes and feel like a king and queen.” Zach turned her in his arms and planted a kiss on her forehead. “You’re a wonderful woman. I never thought I’d have a chance with a girl like you.”

Say what? “A girl like me?”

“Yeah. Smart. Beautiful inside and out. Spontaneous. I’m glad we met up again, and you decided to take a gamble on me.”

Astounded over his declarations, she could only stare at him.

  “Would you like to dance?”

Still a bit dumbfounded, she nodded. Electric tingles trailed up her arm as he directed her to the hardwood square floor in front of the band. Stopping and facing her, he stroked from her hip to her lower back, sending more delightful tickles across her body. Hoping her feet wouldn’t turn into two left ones, she waltzed with him into the stream of couples. Zach maneuvered her around the area with grace.

“Have you taken lessons?” she asked. “You are so light on your feet.”

“Nope. My great aunt and her friends taught me during summer vacations at her house. They thought it was fun to civilize me. Called it good ol’ homespun entertainment.”

She chuckled, thinking of him as a boy with a group of older ladies, learning the value of etiquette. “They taught you well.”

  “Thanks.”

The warmth of his palm on her back comforted her, and she wished he’d hold her closer, hoped he’d bring her against his body so they could rock in place. As if reading her mind, he moved them to the center of the floor where other couples slow danced. Seana rested her head on his shoulder.

His fingers smoothed up along her neck, then stroked her cheek. He cupped her chin and tilted her face up toward his. Gentle and slow, he molded his lips upon hers, soothing her soul. The unhurried kiss sharpened the memories of what had occurred in her room. She couldn’t wait to return to their love den and pick up where they’d left off.

The song ended, and he broke the kiss but didn’t move away. His chest vibrated against hers. “My phone again. Sorry.”

“No problem. I’d like to step out into the hall and get some air anyway.” Seana slipped from his embrace, hating each inch of distance growing between them. “Take care of what you need to then come get me for another dance. Maybe by then I will have recovered from these shoes, which are suddenly making my feet scream at me.”

Zach escorted her out to the concourse. Remaining in the grand hallway after he rushed off, she sat on one of the leather benches opposite the volunteer table and kicked off her pumps. She spotted her cousin tossing a piece of paper into the drawing bin. “Ivy.”

  Ivy spun on her heel.

  Seana waved.

“Seana.” Ivy hurried over to sit beside her.

“You look extremely happy. Your date must be going well.”

“It is. The guys and I are having a blast together and just had the most amazing time up in Robert’s room.”

“Guys? You mean Kiran and your date?” Seana couldn’t hide her surprise. Ivy had confided once she and Kiran wanted to have a third join them in the bedroom. She’d just never believed it would happen.

“Yep. Turns out Madame Evangeline set us up in a threesome, and it’s working out quite nicely. Speaking of matches, where’s yours?” Ivy glanced up and down the hallway.

“He’s on a call. You’ll never guess who it is.” Thoughts of what she and Zach had done up in her room heated her cheeks.

Ivy raised a brow. “Please don’t make me guess who has you all excited. Just tell me his name.”

“Remember the lacrosse player I had a huge crush on back in high school?”

Ivy breathed deep, briefly closed her eyes, then stared at her cousin. “You mean the guy who led you on and then broke your heart when he stood you up the night of
the homecoming dance?”

Seana’s cheeks heated. “Yeah, him. The one and only Zachary Russo.”

  “You’ve got to be joking.”

“He’s changed, Ivy. Plus, like you guys, we’ve already hooked up.” She shouldn’t have to explain, be apologetic or feel shameful about what occurred. Especially not to Ivy.

“Good for you.” Ivy hugged her. “I’m happy our dry spells are over. But Zach?” She surveyed the hall again. “So where is Mr. About-face?”

“Over there.” Seana pointed, studying his muscular physique and raven hair. When he turned and winked, a jolt of sexual energy burst in her.

“Oh. My. God. He’s one of Travis’s goons.”

“No.” She shook her head. A year and a half ago, Ivy had told her about Kiran’s troubles, but never described the people involved. She disliked thinking Kiran hadn’t learned from his mistake, and absolutely hated the thought Zach had lied to her. “He’s a cop.”

“I’m telling you, he’s Enzo and works for Travis. I can’t believe that shark’s gang is here. I thought Travis would have given him a bit more time.”

Bile rose in Seana’s throat. She swallowed it. “What are you talking about? What does a horrid moneylender have to do with anything?”

Ivy glanced down at her hands in her lap. “Remember, in the car, you mentioned tension, and I said Kiran had done something stupid? Well, he borrowed money from Travis, and the turnaround time is super short. The loan can be called in at any second, from what I understand.”

“Oh no. Not again.” Seana squeezed her cousin’s shoulder. She wanted to comfort Ivy, but also wanted to give Zach the benefit of the doubt. “It’s horrible, yes, but my date’s not one of his lackeys. He’s coming this way. Be nice.”

The moment he came close, Ivy jumped to her feet and stood in front of her. “What are you doing here?” She held up a hand. “You know what? I don’t care. All I care about is you and the rest of your scum-of-the-earth posse leaving my friend alone. Tell your boss to back off.”
