He knew of a scientist that had designed the shields and had to investigate. He found that his family was left behind like he was. He heard reports he was ousted because of his genetic defects, the military laws prohibited people of his kind due to their special conditions that were always hard to spot during the selection for military personnel. He read the reports, the trooper exhibited extraordinary abilities and the deciding factor was that (HE) was pregnant. He was discharged for excessive force and his status within the war zone.
He walks to the bridge while he looks around. Several windows were left open for points of interests. Captain taps his com. "Forge." Captain waits for a response. "Forge here. How can I help you sir." "I need a detailed escort for Judge James Maverick and Toal Calhoun. They are needed on the Enforcers habitat. ASAP." "On my way sir." His com drops out fast, hearing his finger tap his badge.
Captain looks out the windows of the bridge; he notices something making contact with the shields. He motions a window to come to him and he moves the visual towards the object. It was the youngest Enforcer. It appears she is tapping the shields. He taps his com. "Mrs. Calhoun." moments go by. "Calhoun." "I seem to have an enforcer tapping the shields." Captain watches an enforcer out the window seeing the shield streak with lights.
"We are in contact with her now, she is young. She sees something in the shields that has caught her attention. She has found something that we might have missed when we created it. We will keep you informed in what we find. Calhoun out." The captain's fascinated by the light show while she tests the shields. Meanwhile, first Officer has located James Maverick; he entered the outer doors of his new chambers. A set of Holo Droids were at both sides of the doors.
He approached, the droids did not move. He pulls the solid bars to his doors, the doors open. He enters the room. He walks towards the judge's desk. "Yes, what is it." Maverick said as if he was dead tired, he continues to read the documents before him. "Sir. I have orders to bring you before the Enforcers. They require your presence. Oh... Sorry Sir." He kneels that of a roman before his ruler. This catches Mavericks attention, his eye's light up at the notion.
"I have aids to continue your work, and report to you when you return. It is by the captain's orders." The 1st officer stands. "Computer, show them in." It was the second in line to replace the judge in the Supreme Court system. Sara lost by a margin when it came to testing. She enters and bows. She does not extend a hand, but she gets down to what he's working on. She walks past him and sits at his desk. She adjusts her specks and motions them to leave with her hand; she looks out over her glasses.
Maverick is astounded by her gestures, so much like him sitting at his desk. Several officers enter to take him to the elevator, she does not bother to stand. She pulls his lamp above his desk to continue to reading his papers. They escorted him to the elevator; Toal arrived just as Maverick shows up. "I wonder what they want, it's not like them." Maverick felt like a kid I a candy store, it was as if he had stuck his hands in a large jar reaching for the colorful candy. Toal remains composed as he looks at Maverick. Jnanson appears out of nowhere; she grabs both of them and vanishes.
A firefight was waging, ratt ta tat tat rings out as the rips of overhead bullets flies by. A man was near a large heat distribution tower, pulling panels from the base. “zzzzzZZZZIIIIPPPPPppppp” Shot rang out bouncing from the structure overhead. He looked behind him to see both his SATT COMM stations was still in tact, the steal plates looked like they sustained a direct it. Turning around he sees the LCD Screen light up when he pulled the next panel off. Swinging the gate to one side. He started typing his access codes in to access the towers mainframe for the shield grid.
He looks up at the main deflector dish where the emitters could be seen a quarter mile up, he knew he had to get the dish angled higher to bring the shields down around his quadrant. “FLFFFFFoooooPP! BOOM” The shockwave hit him when he hears the rip of steel shattering behind him. Seconds… The shockwaves from the high impact of a Rail gun shell that had torn past him, popping his ears as he’s knocked down. He was getting up, he could see one of his SATT machines being shattered behind him, spiraling out of control while pieces were being flung and dragged by the slag.
The machine flew extremely fast away from him as it was hit at mock 7. Seeing the massive hole at shoulder height. “WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM!” He saw the pass codes accepted, “EVE Execute the script!” Dan was watching the SATT COMM Coming alive, the dish swung from the left to the right and pointed upwards. “GET THAT SHIELD OVER HERE.” Several people were running in a crouched formation towards him. One of them spotted an assault transport headed there way.
He saw one of the women toting a hand held rail gun with two others. “FLFFFFFoooooPP! BOOM” It moved faster than he could see when the red mist was all he saw, then the shock way that tore their torsos apart and that glass air that expanded inside. Their faces spoke volumes, they never felt anything, and their legs were still running while their heads were falling into their upper chests. The shockwave finished them off. They never had a chance to cry out. It was things you saw in nightmares, the slow motion while they fell apart like carbon paper.
Seeing the blood flying, it was like spray paint being blown for hundreds of yards. The unlucky one was one of his neighbors, the blasted shell had blown his entire shoulder away, nothing left as his arm just dropped while it held onto his machine gun and fell to the ground. The butt of the gun rattled the ground, the trigger pulled, spraying him with his own bullets from his own gun. Seeing the stunned look as his body swayed from side to side rapidly as the bullets ripped through him.
It lasted only a second, only for the last one to blast his face clean off and his skull pop with the spray of red mist before he fell backwards. Dan was looking right at him, shocked as the image burned into his memory. “Shield Activation… Engaged…” Eve’s voice sounded in his ears, he turned to hear another rail headed their way. He had seen the impact on the shield, it was aimed right at him when the shattered glair of the slag impact spread out in a circle like a web before him.
He realized it was only the second that the shield came down that his own technology saved his life. He looked out over the line the shield has cut into the ground, the ripples of machine gun fire was seen along the shield. The bright bluish dots that spattered the shields and then another large one that appeared in front of him again. He looked out over the field, looking up. He seen they had targeted the emitters at the top of the towers, only to be disintegrated by the shields.
He seen in the distance that transports on his side of the shields were headed his way. People were picking up pieces of bodies, which were slain in the fire fight. Dan collapsed; he had been shot and did not realize it.
Jnanson arrives with Toal and Judge Maverick in the habitat, next to their home. A tall structure of concrete pillars holds up a stone structure with the word "Aphrodite" over the main entrance. Toal notices it was a light mist coming down, warm, vary warm. He looks up and sees blue sky's, with overhead clouds floating by. Toal looks at the technology they have put into their home. He notices the micro camera hovering overhead. He nudges Maverick and kneels at the entrance.
Mrs. Calhoun and Mona exit's the main entrance and stands at the top of the steps. All their children gathered behind them. Toal looks up, he sees them all and falls down onto the ground without warning. The girls buzz by him seeing he is all right, and returns behind their mother. Mona walks down and motions a chair and she puts him into it. One formed for Maverick and he takes his seat. Almost an hour goes by as he comes to.
He sees all his grandchildren looking at him; they were playing in the mist. He is overwhelmed as he looks at them flying around. A chair forms in front of them, Mona walks out and takes a seat. "Hello father. How have you been?" Mona had a casual smile of contentment; she appeared relaxed in front of him. "I am doing ok. I have been taking notice in the station. This cannot be the station we built at Spaceport; it was almost 60 mil
es in diameter." "We built this station in less than 9 days. The habitat is 23,000 miles wide. We have your facility in cargo hold 12 on deck 3. We also have salvaged all of the minerals that form the capacitors too.
The facility is fully functional. You have new fully automated AI's with a staff of virtual scientists that is from my memory. They can help you in your research. HOPE!" Mona bellows. She steps down from their home standing beside her mom. "This is our love child. Everyone, come meet your grandfather." They all come down and visit him. He stands and takes in their names and their appearance to place their names.
Maverick sits comfortably watching the children, wondering why he is there. He sat there, Elasa was standing in front of him and he did not realize it. Her hair was silky and shiny, he didn't realize she had changed so much. Her body glistened in the moist air, she looked so happy. She gives him a hug, catching him off guard. Maverick gives her a hug and opens his eyes, he realizes he's in the air. He looks, the girls start flying around them like bees around a hive.
She expands her disc, she motions her hands. Chairs form and she sits down, Maverick looks behind him and sits. He takes in the sites, he looks down at Toal. He realizes what he's looking at, it is a replica of Olympus. Elasa pulls out two small vials. She looks at her dad. "Dad, I was offered to give this to you, should you accept. You would live for a long time, with some abilities. You are the 2nd that we have offered this to." Elasa said. Maverick is at a loss for words.
"You could live for thousands of years, like us. You said it yourself, and now, we have brought everyone on board. So there's no more 27 or 21 years left... We are taking everyone with us, in search for a new world. We need someone like you, which stands for the right reasons. Just let us know what you decide. Mrs. Calhoun has some procedures she will put you through, that will reduce your body's age. So, when you are given this, for every 273 years you will age only 1 year. And those girls flying around us, they are your grandchildren." Said Elasa. Maverick was shocked, seeing all those girls. There had to have been at least 20 of them.
"Oh, and there is another thing if you do decide to, you will have to move up here with us, for protection. We do not trust too many of them. So you would have to live up here with us." Elasa knew from the enforcers, report. That there was still a hit out on his life. "I accept your offer, where will I be staying while I will be living up here?" Maverick could see only so far in every direction, it looked like an untouched forest. The smells were of, virgin pines and wooded areas. Elasa moved nearly 15 miles back towards Genni's log cabin. Nearly 28 miles from the point of entry into the habitat. She took him to a multi level home with lots of windows made from hardened quartz. Maverick looked at the size of the home; it was nearly 1,500,000 sq feet of living space, full size swimming pool. Far more space than he has ever had, based on his salary from the state.
"My master requested me to let you know, that when you are here. That you respect my master's customs. When you leave for your work, you can use your clothes. It's her request that no clothes be worn in our home, Genni and her husband follows her request too." Elasa sat down at the back of the entrance, by the pool. She takes him to the portal inside the house. "This is the portal that you will be using to get back and forth to your chambers. Every home is equipped with one of these, they can transport to anywhere on the station that has a two way portal." She took him on a tour, she even used the replicator to make them a seafood dish.
They sat down at the counter to eat their dinner, Elasa pointed at the wide wall screen that did multi split screen of every place on the station. It even had his new assistant Sara, still busy working on his case. "You can view any part of the station." They continued to eat. "You can also use this to view the virtual world that's in me; I've got a direct link here. I come here to watch at times." Elasa was ecstatic that her father accepted her offer as readily as he did.
"I notice you keep looking outside, is there something you need to do?" Maverick was still being observant, an old habit he cannot get over. It's served him well over the years, knowing mankind the way he does. "I'm waiting for Denise to let me know when my master is ready with my Christmas present." Elasa sounds ecstatic. Elasa finally sees her, Denise points down at her. "Dad, I need for you to play along, it's an exercise for our children." Elasa knew what was happening, trying to put her dad at ease. Knowing it's her present for her dad.
Elasa moves deeper into the house. She spots two more, looking into the side of the house. Maverick steps outside, looking up at least 15 girls surrounding the house. Maverick motions one down to him. "Are you looking for someone?" Maverick wondered when one of the girls was hovering just above him, off the ground.
"Yes. We're looking for our scoundrel, she's been eluding us. We need to take her in for Santa. She's been naughty; Santa's finished with her present. And she's not stopping in to pick it up." Lori Elasa replied, being as coy as she could. "You don't say. I thought Santa delivered presents, not send his helpers out to bring them in." Maverick motions her to land, to speak with him. She lands before him.
She's a few inches smaller than him as he notices, long flowing sandy blond hair. "Is there a reward out for her capture?" "Yes, Two siblings. I can hardly wait to meet them." Lori Elasa sounds vary excited when she tries to look around him. She appears to be very excited, leaning far to one side or the other, looking around him into the house. "Is she your mother by any chance?" This caches her attention. "Why, yes she is. How did you know?" Lori Elasa was surprised he guessed accurately. "I'm your grandfather. We know these things." "HE'S HEAR!! HELP ME TAKE HIM IN!" Lori Elasa was boisterous when they all swoop around the house and carry him off into the air.
They do not waste time, they approach the stone home in the center of the habitat. They put him on the ground. He is now standing at the base of the stairs. He gets on one knee and bows using their customs. Trying to play along with their game as Elasa had asked. He still feels out of character kneeling down. Moments goes by as Mrs. Calhoun exits the temples. She notices it's Elasa's Father. "Please. Come." She motions him up. The girls nudge him to his feet. Lori Elasa holds her hand out; she helps him up to his feet. He follows the girls into the structure. He enters, it is immense, as far as he could see. He can see nearly two miles in every direction, the floors drop below ground in every direction.
The glass floor had a thin layer of water, overlooking the habitat below. He could see families down below, lying around the lake. He takes his step into the water; it was almost like walking on glass. It was totally transparent to him; it looked like there was nothing in front of him for miles... He could not tell if he was stepping on anything, it was completely transparent. No seams or forms of pillars holding the floor up in any direction. He steps cautiously into the water, if he were going to fall through. He steps, he could see the rings spread out as his feet touches the surface of the water. Which puts him at ease, seeing that he's stepping on something, he could not see anything beneath his feet but the ripples in the water... He picks up his pace, she had gotten a lead from him, and she walked boldly away from him, not looking back.
Dan wakes up, he tries to move only to realize he was strapped to a bed. Opening his eyes, he sees his wife pulling a cloth over his eyes... “Relax, you’ve been shot… You need to rest...” “I need to get back to inspect the tower, I need to…” Dan struggled against the restraints. Someone sticks him in the arm with a needle and he passes out again.
Moments go by as Maverick stops at a small raised glass table of some kind, similar to what he saw in the house with the blue pads. "Please… Sit upon the table and lay down face up." Mrs. Calhoun was standing on the other side of the table, facing him as she talked. "Since you accepted the request readily, we're going to put you through some tests. You are going to go through a lot of changes. These changes will at some point, make you feel uncomfortable for a period of time. You will experience weight loss, figure appearance changes. You will also develop some abilities; I am letting you know ahead of
time. Is there any questions you would like to know before we begin." Mrs. Calhoun never sounded anything but calm. "Yes. How long will it take?"
"Approximately 3 days. You are male, and we must make sure no harm comes to you during the process. Our girls will be the ones that will stimulate your body, in helping you make the changes. While your transformation takes place… Your age will reverse to an extent. Your body will change dramatically from weight loss to your appearance. Once the process is complete, and your new body stabilizes. We will begin your new life here in our home. You will need at least 3 more days after that, once the DNA has taken hold. After that, you will be given a seed to begin. Should anything happen during the process, I will be close by. Do you have any more questions?"
"No." He closes his eyes. Days go by as he watches 50 of the girls poking and prodding his body. A window showed him on the table while they performed the rituals. Time goes by, it takes them longer than expected. He could see his weight disappear, he looks like he lost nearly 130 pounds when his hair grew longer and lost the grey he once had. He was prodded from behind which made him feel uncomfortable, and when they teased his body while laying on the table. The process started getting more personal. They started removing everything he had, they continued their operation. Elasa enters the room and she walks to his side. She smiles as she looks at him, and notices the huge changes.
Maverick happens to see them filling the cups with their liquid DNA filled with Microbes. They put their probes into it, the container empties out leaving just the probes. They walk over to him and continue the process. Elasa stay's and continues to watch, she rubs his chest and stomach in a pattern. They start poking and prodding him again for hours, he notices his facial structure had changed as is body did too. He notices he's got more of a famine figure as his chest looked more like breasts. He thought that it might be from all the weight he had lost. They motioned a device to appear, lowered it down and a lot more probes dangled from the object and disappeared. He continued to watch the monitor. His body looked more and more like a female's body than a male.
