“I can’t believe Balaedras would do something that evil to gain power,” Glywyn said. “I hate that this had to happen, Faeswyn. You always mentioned Glaeonawyn to me. That poor young girl.”
Faeswyn watched Trikyia get into the back of the car. “We’re going to do our best by her, Glywyn. We’ll be there soon.”
“Good. I thought you should have come with us in the beginning. At least you’ll be here for the baby’s birth.”
“This was your dream, Glywyn. You told me that I was in Yaeltaran with Trikyia.”
“I didn’t think it would be due to the deaths of her entire family. Not that. By the goddesses, not that. Love you.”
Faeswyn took one last look at the farm she’d come to know as home. But she knew it wasn’t any longer. Her home was in the hearts of her husbands. She walked over to the car as Draeis held the door open for her, and climbed into the back with Trikyia. She didn’t look back as Naihr drove away. She sat in the back with Trikyia with her arm around her comfortingly.
“I knew I would be in Yaeltaran,” Trikyia said. She laid her head on Faeswyn’s shoulder.
“What? How?” Faeswyn asked.
“I had a dream. I told N-Nana about it. After that night with the witches I felt like I was supposed to do something more with my life. I was going to join the Yaeltaran military after I graduated. I had this dream about being in Yaeltaran in this big room, like in a palace. I was standing behind this girl, but she was a woman. I knew she was much younger than I was, though. I knew that I was meant to protect her. In my dream, I had this feeling that I would do everything I could to keep her safe. She was important. Like the whole world was depending on her or something.”
Faeswyn exchanged looks with Draeis, and then with Naihr as he stared back at her through the rearview mirror. “You will, Trikyia. I have a feeling that your life was meant for something greater than you know. Something greater than any of us will know. It was foretold. It hurts right now, sweetheart. But in time, the pain will lessen.”
“No,” Trikyia said adamantly. “I don’t want it to. I want to feel the pain so it reminds me about what happened. So that I never forget what happened, and I kill every fuckin’ fairy I find.”
Faeswyn only nodded, letting Trikyia lay in the comfort of her arms as they drove away from Drisa. Her life had change since she’d first come to the farm. And in her heart, she knew that there were many more changes ahead for Ai. Many, many more.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I have been married for over thirty years. My husband and I have two children, a daughter and a son. We have recently become grandparents for the first time to a beautiful granddaughter. I also have two high-strung Jack Russell terriers, Dexter and Dixie. I’m a dog person. Although cats are nice, they just think they’re better than humans and probably are.
My husband was in the military, so we traveled around. I have lived in Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, and overseas in Germany. Since my husband retired, we returned to our hometown of Sacramento, California to live. The funny thing is that my father was also in the military, and my family traveled around when I was a child. I was always the new girl in school. But rather than turn into myself and become the shy, introverted one, I became the boisterous extrovert.
I was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 30, 1962. I am one of four girls in my family. I am also the middle, middle. For anyone that doesn’t know what that means, I am the child that has two older sisters that reigned over me, and a baby sister that came seven years after me. She was the spoiled-rotten sister of my youth. She was also my own little baby doll. But because of the difference in ages, I was left to my own devices for entertainment many times. My imagination was developed at a very young age. I was the one that when punished to sit alone and think about my behavior, ended up playing with my fingers or pieces of fuzz. I would have a whole family and town of fuzz before my punishment was over.
I like to travel. To date, I have been to the Caribbean, Mexico, Austria, and the Czech Republic. My family and I also have a Disney fascination. We have been to Disney World four times and to Disneyland once. Since the passing of my parents, my sisters and I have also tried to travel together from time to time. Since I’m a bit of a control freak, I’m usually the planner for these trips. If I had my way, I would rarely be at home. I want to see every place the world has to offer and then some.
I’ve lived in Antelope, California for almost twenty years. Antelope is a bedroom community of Sacramento. I’m a retired substitute teacher devoting my time to writing fulltime. I achieved my BA degree at the age of forty-two. It was much later than many of my counterparts, but it was also a first in my family. Unfortunately, my parents were not alive to see that accomplishment.
I like to write about plus-size or Rubenesque heroines. I am a big girl, and not ashamed of it. I write what I know. I want to show women that they can have the romance and erotic passion that may be written about a size six. All of my characters are also either in interracial relationships, or are multi or biracial themselves. I am a Black woman, but both of my parents were biracial. My mother was French and Black, while my father was Native American and Black. I don’t like to be pigeon-holed into writing only about one race because I’m Black. There are so many interesting nuances in society.
