Alondra wrapped her arms around his neck, holding him close, her mouth finding his as his cock continued to spasm deep in her. When the kiss finally waned, his gaze locked on her. A slow, wicked smile spread over his face. “Thank you, wife.”

“Wife?” she asked, before thinking back to everything he’d explained in detail to her. She let the knowledge that they were now a mated pair sink in. When it did, she licked her lower lip. “We should probably see about making it official with the courts too, huh?”

He grinned. “If that is what you wish.”

She held him and teared up slightly. “I wish that this wouldn’t ever end. And I wish I’d come to you sooner.”

Rayer’s cock hardened inside her, and he began to pump in and out of her slowly once more. “As do I. But we have found one another now. And nothing will tear us apart, Alondra.”

She tensed and locked her legs on his waist, making it harder for him to move. “Valentine will try to hurt you.”

He snorted. “If has any sense, he is already fleeing the city. If I see him, I will end him, and I will do so with great joy.”

She loosened her hold with her legs and Rayer sank deep into her, drawing tiny bursts of pleasure from her lips. She started to lift her hand to run it down his arm when a picture on the wall near them fell from its position.

Alondra’s hand shot out and the next thing she knew, the picture was there, floating in midair. She gasped and it fell to the floor.

Rayer laughed. “We will need to see about getting you help with your powers.”

“My powers?” As she asked, she thought back to the attack, and how all of the men had been thrust far from her by an unseen force. “I did that?”

He nodded, and then began to make sweet love to her once more.

  Chapter Eight

Rayer wrapped an arm around his mate and sipped the hot spiced rum that Keren had handed to him upon their arrival at the Christmas party. Zarek was engaged in conversation with one of their uncles, laughing about something. Zarek’s children were moving about, each busy and happily talking with those in attendance.

Keren smiled as she neared them. “Alondra, how are you settling into mated life?”

Alondra touched Rayer’s torso. “He’s bossy, and he growls a lot.”

“Does that scare you?” asked Keren.

“Pfft, no. I just laugh at him,” said Alondra.

  Rayer blushed. “She does.”

Keren beamed. “Good. What about little ones of your own? Have the two of you discussed having any children?”

“Not as of yet,” said Rayer, his arm tightening around his mate. “But I wish very much to have a houseful, such as you and Zarek have.”

Alondra exhaled slowly, tension leaving her body.

  He stiffened. “Alondra?”

She looked up at him, biting her lower lip. “I’m really glad to hear you say that.”

“Why?” he asked, fearing something was wrong with her. Had she changed her mind about loving him? Did she want to leave him?

“Right before we flew out, Timothy cornered me and said his magik was picking up something new and different with me.”

Keren grabbed for Alondra, pulling her from Rayer’s grasp. She hugged his mate tight. “Congratulations!”

Alondra returned the embrace, and then looked back tentatively at Rayer. “Are you mad?”

“Mad? I do not know what you’re saying. How can I be upset by it?”

Alondra and Keren shared a look before Keren snorted. “You get used to their selective hearing.”

Alondra smiled weakly. “Timothy says I’m pregnant, Rayer.”

“You? We? A baby?” was all he could manage.

Zarek appeared and put his hand on Rayer’s shoulder. “Cousin, you look pale. Is all well?”

“I’m to be a father,” he breathed, his voice just a whisper.

Zarek’s eyes moistened, and he drew Rayer into a manly hug. “May your child be blessed, cousin.”

Rayer drew back and looked at his wife. The next thing he knew, a lone tear fell down his cheek as his heart felt overfilled with joy. He wiped away his tear quickly. “Thank you. And may another of our clan find as much happiness as we have, cousin.”

“I suspect your brothers may be close,” said Zarek. “And Ladon has asked a few questions about mates lately as well.”

“Truly?” asked Rayer, surprised to hear that Ladon had reached out to anyone.

Zarek nodded. “Who knows, before we know it, we may be bursting at the seams with family.”

“As it should be,” said Rayer, tearing up more.

Alondra tipped her head, pushing herself against him and hugging him tightly. “Look at you, getting all emotional.”

“You have given me the greatest gift ever,” he said, kissing the top of her head. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Merry Christmas, Rayer.”
