“We assume you speak of the girl…” they said in chorus
“Who else…”!?” he exclaimed
“How dare you speak to the Moira sisters in that manner?” Charon demanded, having managed to recover and floated back to Warren’s location.
“I deserve answers…” Warren said as he put one fist on top of the other, allowing his sword to form in his palms.
“You dare summon your sword in the chamber of fate!” Charon continued
“I will do as I please until my questions are answered” Warren’s voice became rougher as he got more enraged.
“ENOUGH…” the sister’s voices rang through the room with an unnatural vibration.
Silence fell across the room. Even Charon turned to look at the sisters.
“I just want answers…” Warren continued, “I just want to know why her. The doctors state that they can’t determine a cause of death”
“The deal with Hades fell through…” The sisters explained, “We expected honor and instead received something else. When we extended the offer to trade her for your brothers, Hades instead saw this as an opportunity. He would take her whether you agree or not”
“But how…”
“There’s a loophole that we were unable to see. We believe that Hades was hiding it from our vision. The fact that the offer was extended to him already makes the soul a sacrifice… therefore, he already has permission to take her, without any further negotiations needed”
“Well…” Warren said, “I am going after her and there’re nothing you can do to stop me”
“And how do you plan on getting there…?”
“Well…” Warren smiled brightly back at the blackened Charon, “I have the Ferryman right in front of me. The way I see it, I got a ride. That’s right… for a change, I did my homework”
Charon chuckled, “A human in Hades… that’s preposterous”
“Believe it…” Warren continued, “I’m getting Kimberly back and bringing my brothers back with me”
Warren winked at the sisters before walking back out through the large doors.
“Are you going to allow this?” Charon turned back to the sisters, still visibly angry, despite not having any facial features.
“The Riders are not governed by any rules…” The sisters explained as they watched Warren, now transformed in War, through the disembodied eye that the middle sister held out. He was now atop his horse, which rode of the cave that held the Chamber of Fate, and across the vast ocean that seemed to stretch out as far as the eye could see. The flames that emitted from the hooves of the horse created a mysterious cloud of mist around the horses legs as it galloped across the water as if were just normal land, “… he can do as he pleases. There is a reason why he is the War Rider, and this is it. It just needed a bit of coaxing to get it out”
