I try to keep my voice soft and tender, but it comes out harsh and demanding instead.

  “Untie me now, Aviana.”

“Both hands?” she asks, looking shocked and a little concerned.

“Yes. It’s past time I touched you.”

  “Are you sure you’re ready?”

  “Damn sure.”

“Okay,” she says, stretching forward and releasing the knots.

The moment the ropes slip away, I dig my fingers into her fleshy hips and roll her onto her back. Grabbing both her wrists in one hand, I pin her arms above her head and say, “I’ve wanted to do this to you from the moment we met at the bookstore.”

She sighs. “I’m so glad you’re doing it now. I need you badly, Gavin.”

In a heated sequence of strategic moves, I cover her body with mine and cup the curve of her right breast with my free hand before capturing a dusky-rose-colored nipple between my teeth. She cries out and restlessly bucks beneath me as I draw the taut bud deeper into my mouth and relentlessly suckle her sensitive flesh.

Tasting her tit has awakened a hunger inside me I never knew existed. One which will require a thorough exploration of every inch of her.

Reluctantly, I release her wrists. I love the feel of her pinned beneath me and at my mercy, but the desire to kiss a trail down her beautiful body wins out over my need to dominate her in this way.

I lick the soft skin of her inner thigh before bringing my mouth to within inches of her pussy. Her breath is coming in short gasps as she stares at me, wide-eyed and full of anticipation.

Flashing her a grin, I state what is obvious to me. “This is your first experience with oral sex.”

  “Yes, and it frightens me.”

  I frown. “Why?”

“I’m afraid you won’t like how I smell and taste.”

Wanting to alleviate her worries, I say, “Your pretty little pussy smells like teen spirit.”

She screams laughing. “You must be joking.”

“I am, but thanks to that grungy little tune by Nirvana, I got you to relax a little.”

“With your mouth that close to my cunt, I—”

I cut her off by burying my face in the dark, damp curls of her bush. Longingly and leisurely, I lap the honey of her dripping desire from between her silky-soft, feminine folds. I want her to stop talking and start feeling.

She rocks her hips against me while I probe her sex with deep, stabbing strokes of my tongue. Fucking her like this rips a groan of fierce need and desire from my chest. I want to possess her fully, making her come over and over again.

The sound of Aviana’s whimpering sighs drives me onward like a madman. Seeking out that delicate bud of pleasure, I pull it between my lips and tantalizingly torture her like there’s no tomorrow. She weaves her fingers into my hair and tugs me closer to her core. A hard, forceful suck followed by a gentle graze of my teeth and a firm flick of my tongue against her clit is all it takes to send her spiraling into the stratosphere.

She gushes her delicious juices onto my tongue, but I don’t let up. I continue eating her cunt through every tremble, quiver and clench of her climax.

When her hands limply fall away from my head, she says, “So that’s what a real, honest-to-God orgasm feels like, huh?”

She’s so doggone cute lying there in the afterglow of her pleasure that I can’t help but chuckle. “Yes, and it’s the first of many.”

“You mean you can make my body do that again?”

“I can and will. In fact, the second time you come will be with me,” I say, pushing her thighs apart and positioning myself between them.

Gazing deep into her eyes, I lower myself onto one elbow while allowing my body to cover hers completely. With my hard-as-petrified-wood penis paused directly in front of her silky-soft pussy, time seems to stand still. This moment that Aviana and I are sharing is so significant, I don’t dare rush it.

Giving me one of her bright, beautiful smiles, she says, “I can’t believe the man of dreams is making such sweet, soul-searing love to me. For the first time in my life, I truly feel cherished and cared for. I don’t want anything or anyone to come between us. I never want what we have to end.”

“You and I are forever. Tonight is only the beginning,” I say, resting my forehead against hers.

  “You promise?”

“Promise,” I vow, kissing her deeply.

  Chapter Fifteen

  Aviana Leif

HE CLAIMS MY LIPS with a tender insistence that leaves me trembling. I have a feeling no matter how many times he kisses me, it will never be enough. The fervent tangling of his tongue with mine makes me feverish.

I whimper when his hand slips between my thighs. The feeling of his fingers tenderly parting my pussy lips and slowly sinking into the heated center of my core fills me with such overwhelming sensation, I cry out from the sheer ecstasy of it all. Gavin swallows the sound while simultaneously fondling my feminine flesh.

At the brush of his thumb against my love bud, I dig my fingernails into his shoulders and shamelessly press my mound into the palm of his hand.

He growls, “I love you, Aviana.”

“I love you, too,” I whisper, relishing the surge of his sex against my belly.

His skillful fingers continue their seduction until I’m sure I can’t take his sensuous stroking a second longer. I’m on the verge of begging him to put his cock in me when he pulls his fingers free of my womanhood and pinches my clit. Over and over, he inflicts a rhythmic squeezing and releasing until I think I’m going to lose my mind.

Every inch of my body is quivering with desire when Gavin mercifully penetrates me. With every thrust, he keeps manipulating my clitoris. The pinches match the piston-like motion of his hips. Plunge in—pinch. Pull out—release. Then the thunderous roll of my second orgasm begins. The spasm of flesh. The clenching of vaginal muscles. My head falls heavy against the pillow. My back arches. At the exact moment the waves of indescribable joy crash over me, Gavin lets go and fills me with his seed. Together we reach the pinnacle of pleasure and surrender, creating an irrevocable, unbreakable bond between us.

THE NEXT MORNING I awaken to a welcome tenderness between my thighs. Stretching my arms above my head, I yawn and remember all the naughty things my man did to me last night. All the downright dirty things we did to each other.

Rolling over, I reach for Gavin only to find he is no longer in bed with me. There’s a note pinned to his pillow. It reads: I needed to run a really quick errand and didn’t want to wake my sleeping beauty. I’ll be back in a jiffy, baby. I love you!

Smiling, I put on the yoga pants and T-shirt Gavin bought for me yesterday and make my way downstairs to the kitchen. I’m feeling super-hungry and need something kind of quick, so I pop a couple of pieces of bread into the toaster and pour up a tall glass of orange juice.

I hear the doorbell ring just as I devour the last bite and drink the last drop.

Pattering barefooted across the living room floor, I look through the peephole and see a woman who looks to be in her late twenties or early thirties. She’s tall, alarmingly-thin and blonde. For a casual Friday morning, she is dressed fairly formally in a pencil skirt, off-the-shoulder silk blouse and expensive high heels. I’m sure Gavin isn’t expecting company. I don’t think he would have left knowing someone was coming over.

Not wanting to be rude, I open the door and say, “Mr. Winslow isn’t home right now. But if you wouldn’t mind telling me your name, I’ll be happy to let him know you dropped by.”

She gives her straight, platinum hair a flip and haughtily says, “I think you have it backwards, Big Britches. By the time Gavin gets home, you’ll be gone. And you won’t be coming back. Have I made myself clear, Aviana?”

I frown in confusion and instantly feel infuriated by this woman’s rude, condescending and arrogant attitude. “How the devil did you know my name?”

She pushes past me and into the living room before answering. “I s
aw your name and picture on the news. It was a shame about your mugging. But I can see you’ve gotten your sight back,” she says, sighing. “I’m sure my nephew will be relieved. He really didn’t mean you any harm. I’m afraid he took my advice a little too literally.”

For a second, my mouth works without producing any words. Once I’m able to speak, I ask, “You’re Landon Lawson’s aunt? And you told him to attack me?”

“Yes and no. I am his aunt—Dr. Becky Lawson—but I didn’t tell him to mug you. That was all his idea. He was terribly upset when you shunned him after the two of you had sex. I guess he went a little nuts. When he called to tell me about the entertainment section of the newspaper he found in your room, he was awfully angry and jealous.”

A lightbulb goes off in my head. “The one where I circled Gavin’s book signing. That’s how Landon was able to follow me without my noticing him. He had the leisure of lagging way behind since he already knew my destination.”

“Exactly. And you can imagine how bad he felt when he realized you had the hots for another man.”

“Yeah, he made that all too clear when he broke in here.”

“Well, I’m glad he got a chance to explain himself face-to-face. You’re not mad at poor Landon, are you?”

I shake my head at the insanity standing in front me. The saying about the nut not falling far from the tree is starting to make a lot more sense.

“I’m not mad. I’m furious!” I say, clenching my fists by my sides. “He nearly scared me half to death, and he pulled a gun on Gavin. Landon could have killed him.”

She waves my comment away. “Nah. The gun wasn’t loaded. Landon told me he was simply trying to frighten Gavin off so he could take you away with him. He also told me he got conked on the back of the head before he had the chance to do that.”

I flash Miss Lawson a self-satisfied grin. “I cracked him over the skull with a table lamp.”

She nods. “I figured as much. In my line of work, I have seen several cases of hysterical blindness. When Landon confessed his crime against you, I knew you’d see again,” she says, shrugging. “So no harm no foul, right?”

  “Wrong!”

“Don’t be such a drama queen. Landon is young like you and can sometimes act foolishly. The way I see it, the two of you are even. He hit you on the back of the head. You hit him on the back of the head. You youngsters make the perfect couple.”

I am seriously not believing what I’m hearing. This woman is obviously a few bricks shy of a full load. “Look,” I say, trying to keep my temper in check. “Gavin might be a while, so I really think you should leave now.”

She shakes her head and clucks her tongue. “We’ve been over this, Aviana. You’re the one who’s leaving.”

“And why would I do that?”

“Because you aren’t welcome here. Your time with Gavin is over. Like most men do, he wanted to have one last fling before we start our future together. Being a therapist, I understand how trapped a man can feel when he’s getting ready to make a lifelong commitment. So I let him sow his final wild oat with you. In fact, I encouraged it. I was the one who told him to bang the blind girl.”

Suddenly, like some sort of vacuum-sealed package, all the oxygen gets sucked from the room. I can’t breathe. Tears sting my eyes as hurt crystals form a painful canopy over my heart. I want to slap this woman silly, but I choose to verbally lash out instead. “You’re a filthy liar!”

“If you don’t believe me, call Gavin and ask him yourself.”

Through a quivering bottom lip, I say, “I will.”

My hand trembles as I pick up the phone and punch in the speed-dial set to Gavin’s cell.

He answers on the second ring. “Hey, baby. I’m almost finished with my errand. Is everything okay?”

  “That depends.”

I can hear the wariness in his voice. “On what?”

“Did your therapist tell you to have sex with me?”

There’s a long pause. I know he hasn’t disconnected the call because I can hear the open line as well as the low hum of the Audi’s engine. I feel as though I am drowning in the dread of his answer, but I have to know. “Tell me the truth.”

  “Yes. But—”

I cut him off. “That’s all I needed to know. Goodbye, Gavin.”

The smug look on Becky Lawson’s face makes me so sick, I nearly throw up. When the room stops spinning, I use the phone to call a cab. In less than three minutes, a taxi pulls into the driveway. It must have already been in the neighborhood. Leaving the shrink standing in the living room doorway, I walk away from yet another house where I was never really loved or wanted.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Gavin Winslow

I BREAK EVERY SPEED limit in the town of Sparkle City, trying to hurry back home to Aviana. Then it occurs to me that as angry as she was, she might not be there. Besides, something tells me I should be confronting Becky Lawson first anyway. Pulling my phone out of my front pocket, I dial her cell. We exchanged numbers a few years back at a charity event both of us were attending. She made several passes at me that evening. I attributed her forward behavior to the multiple glasses of champagne she had inhaled. Even so, I should have recognized she was trouble back then.

I don’t bother with a greeting when she answers. “Where are you?” I bark.

“My office. I’m seeing patients today.”

“Well, you best clear them out if you don’t want a scene. I’ll be there in five minutes.”

THE WAITING AREA IS empty when I arrive. I don’t even see hide nor hair of her receptionist. Flinging open the door to her office, I spot Dr. Lawson sitting on the edge of her desk. Her blouse is unbuttoned three deep to reveal unimpressive cleavage. Her skirt has ridden high on her toothpick thighs. Until right now, I never realized how unshapely most women are compared to Aviana’s bountiful curves.

Becky grins at me like the cat who ate the canary and says, “I told you you’d be back.”

“What the hell have you done?”

  “Nothing that didn’t need doing.”

I’m two seconds away from tearing her office to pieces. “What the fuck does that mean?”

“It means I fixed things so you and I can be together.”

“I don’t want to be with you, Becky. I’ve made that clear many times in the past.”

“It’s true. You’ve turned down all of my sexual advances, but I thought you were just playing hard to get,” she says, winking.

Her wink comes off looking more like a bad facial tic than a seductive gesture.

Figuring it best not to engage her in this topic any longer and feeling the need to shake her out of this whole pathetic seduction scene, I slam my fist down on the desk beside her and ask, “Where is Aviana?”

She shrugs noncommittally. “If I were to wage a guess, I’d say she’s gone back to my nephew. He’s crazy about her, you know? And he’s still stuck in the hospital. A bad concussion like the one he sustained requires a good forty-eight hours of observation.”

  “You’re related to Landon?”

  “Yep.”

I scratch my head trying to piece all of this new information together without a bit of luck. Giving up, I plop down on her sofa and say, “Please tell me you didn’t put him up to mugging Aviana.”

She slides off her desk and takes the chair in front of me, sitting where she always does during our sessions. “Why does everybody keep asking me that? Of course I didn’t. Lie back, and I’ll explain everything, Gavin.”

“I prefer to sit, but you best get to it. I don’t have all day.”

“Fine. As you may have ascertained, Landon isn’t the smartest guy in town.”

  “No kidding.”

She smirks but keeps going. “About two years ago, an acquaintance I have in common with Aviana’s father told me about a job opening at the Leif mansion. He said Mander was looking for a strong, young man to serve as his daughter’s bodyguard. Apparently, her previous one moved away.” />
“So you used your influence to get him the job?”

“Of course. I mean, where else could Landon get a better character recommendation than from a highly-respectable and reputable psychiatrist?”

“Given your rampant, unethical behavior, I wonder how you managed to earn such a spotless reputation.”

“I was a good actress during my college theatre days. That aside, you’ll find most people only see what they want to see versus what’s really there.”

“Let’s not get off topic here.”

“Right. I got my nephew the interview, but he landed the job himself. Apparently, when it comes to being a bodyguard, brawn outweighs brains. Which is why I helped him out by hatching what should have been a surefire matchmaking plan.”

“You encouraged Landon to sleep with Aviana?”

“I encouraged him to woo her and court her first. Then sleep with her and eventually propose to her. But between raging hormones and stupidity, he decided to fuck her first instead. I told him the only way he would ever live the lifestyle he wanted would be to marry money.”

“And Aviana’s family has plenty of it.”

Becky nods. “They sure do, and so does Aviana. About a week ago, Landon overheard her father talking about the million-dollar trust fund she would receive on her eighteenth birthday.”

“And that’s when Landon implemented his big plan to screw her in the pool house?”

“Like I said, he isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s young, dumb and full of cum. In his pea brain, he thought she would fall at his feet after he stuck his dick in her. She might have eventually if you hadn’t thrown a wrench into the works.”

  “What did I do?”

“You wrote the romance novels that made Aviana fall in love with you,” she said, sighing. “And not just her but me and every other woman who has ever read your words.”
