Boys with Toys Page 15

They would fuck in Rome, they would fuck in Venice, England, France and Spain and everywhere Payton could think of. But they both had busy schedules where they couldn’t even go on their honeymoon.

Taylor blamed himself for neglecting Payton, and he should have taken off from his job, but he didn’t and now he came to realize that this may have affected his relationship with Payton. Just this time away from New York had made him a different man, and he was able to see the things that mattered to him. And it wasn’t working himself to death, for what? He had money, he had homes and cars, and stuff, but he didn’t have Payton.

He didn’t have the love and the life he had with Payton anymore.

He would find the man he loved and take back his life. The life that he knew he wanted, and the man he knew he needed to make his life complete, and there was no way he would let something or someone come between them again.

Taylor rose early and refused to let Jane cook breakfast because he had let too much time pass, yet she insisted. Payton must be in San Francisco by now, he thought. As he was carrying out his bag, Jane handed him a cup of coffee and he did accept it. He placed his bag down and when he smelled the bacon and eggs aroma coming from the kitchen, she had him for a few more hours.

How could he function without a much needed jolt of coffee, especially since he knew he would have a long day trying to track down Payton? He rationalize. Just a few more minutes and then I’ll leave, he thought.

He checked his phone and still he heard nothing from Payton. Then he texted him. Weeks had passed and he should have told Payton that he was coming to Oregon, but he didn’t. He was stubborn and thought that Payton was wrong for what he had done. But fuck it now. Too much time had passed and he shouldn’t have allowed this to happen.

He should have called him right away and said, I love you, come back. But he didn’t and now he was paying the price.

But Taylor had been angry that Payton would question his fidelity. He thought he was right and that’s why he held out so long. But all that got him was lonely nights and days and a husband missing.

As he headed for the car and dropped his bag in the trunk, Jane stepped on the porch and waved to him. He wanted to run back and hug her and give her another kiss, but if he did, he wouldn’t be able to leave her, especially since she had made him feel so happy the time he had with her.

  Chapter Eighteen

PAYTON HAD REACHED Ocean Beach Road, and that’s when his father’s old Toyota Corolla gave out. Over three hundred thousand miles on the speedometer taking his father back and forth to work, on family camping trips, and to parks for mountain climbing, and now when Payton needed it the most, it let him down.

He felt that way about Taylor too. How could he let his relationship with Dylan remain up in the air? To Payton there wasn’t any closure that he could see. After all these years what made Dylan think that he could barge into his marriage with Taylor and decide that at any moment he could get Taylor back?

There must have been some deep connection they had together that I don’t have with Taylor, Payton thought, as he stared out and looked around for a car traveling on the highway. Then he hit the warning signal, a red caution light so no one would hit him from behind as he drove slowly and pulled to the side of the road.

But that would be a miracle because there were no cars for miles.

Pounding on the steering wheel and thinking, he murmured, “Why didn’t Taylor say something? Like get lost, you bitch, I’m married and I never want to see you again.” It would have been that easy and none of this would have gone down, Payton thought.

As the car slowed and finally came to a stop on the shoulder of the road, Payton let out a sigh and trudged out of the car and walked to the front, and then to the passenger side of the car, away from the highway not that it was one of those busy expressways. He hadn’t seen but a few cars headed this way for San Francisco.

Payton pulled out his phone, and oh fuck, fuck, fuck. He had forgotten to charge it. Payton had all but forgot about the phone until now. He slammed the palm of his hand on the car door and threw the phone inside the lowered window, and it rested on the driver’s side on the floor.

“Fucking old car,” he murmured. How could he blame the car? It had done its best and Payton was trying to get more out of it than it was able to give. He had made a mistake by not stopping at the rental place. He had made many mistakes lately.

Maybe that was the way it would be with him and Taylor. Maybe it was a mistake ever going to bed with him and marrying him without knowing this man. Maybe the relationship had run out of steam. Their love, and the sex, oh fuck, the sex had burned red hot. Sizzling hot couldn’t describe the way he felt when Taylor had been inside him.

And now on the side of the road alone, he wanted to get back inside his father’s car and masturbate, just so he could get his head straight and get Taylor out of it for one day, and give him peace.

Peace from thinking about Taylor with Dylan inside the man he love. But when he had confronted Taylor about Dylan, Taylor seemed to be amused by the thought that he could want to fuck Dylan. There was nothing funny about that statement.

“ME FUCK DYLAN? THAT’S funny,” Taylor had said to Payton jokingly.

Payton had seen in Taylor’s eyes that he knew what he meant, and had changed it around to suggest that he would fuck Dylan. It galled Payton to think that Taylor hadn’t taken him seriously and especially his concerns.

Payton had been pissed to learn that Dylan was the top and Taylor was the submissive in that relationship and that Taylor had made him a submissive. That’s why he walked out even-though he had finally fucked Taylor the way he had dreamed with Taylor on the bottom and his length deep in Taylor’s tight warm hole.

But this position had been decided by Taylor as an appeasement, and to stop him from complaining and probing about him and Dylan’s relationship. “Why do you care, I’m with you now,” Payton remembered Taylor saying.

Walking around to the front of the car, he leaned over the open hood peering into the car, at what, he didn’t know.

As he stood irritated on the side of a beach road, waiting for someone to pass, to pick him up, and drop him off some place where he could rent a car, he thought about the last argument they’d had.

He’d surprised himself when he asked Taylor about his sexual life with Dylan after they had just made love.

He knew he shouldn’t have. He should have been satisfied that they were in each other’s arms and kissing after he fucked Taylor’s sweet ass, and the thought should never have crossed his mind.

  But it did.

It worried his head and he couldn’t hold in how he felt without saying what was on his mind.

He thought about Taylor and his lovemaking as he leaned against the frame of the car. It had been off the charts and he should have accepted it as that. He was married to the man, not Dylan, so why had the thought of Dylan being inside Taylor upset him the way it did?

His cock twitched when he thought of Taylor and how he had been so deep inside him that he didn’t know where his body began and Taylor’s ended. He knew why he had been so bothered when he learned that Dylan had been the one who made Taylor a bottom. And he couldn’t imagined sharing Taylor’s wonderful body with Dylan or anyone for that matter.

As long as Taylor was fucking him, the thought never entered his mind that maybe Taylor had been someone’s bottom, but when he felt his cock enter Taylor’s hole and his erection had been the hardest he’d ever had, and when his come had flowed inside Taylor, he’d glanced up and saw Taylor’s eyes deepen and his pupils dilate, and he’d thought he understood what brought about that erotic response.

It was then he knew Taylor had enjoyed coming on a man’s chest with a man inside him.

That had been his true position. A bottom. And Dylan had made him his first and he could never achieve what he saw in Taylor’s eyes because that position would be temporary for him. This man Dylan had commanded Taylor
s body and soul the way he never could, Payton thought.

A man who wasn’t as tall as he, wasn’t as handsome as either him or Taylor, and yet Dylan was probably an expert in fucking Taylor in a manner Payton thought he never would be able to achieve.

After all, he hadn’t had that much experience fucking a man and taking charge of his body the way he knew that another man more experienced would be able to. A man like Dylan, and that’s why Payton felt so unsure of himself.

Payton sucked up a large breath of fresh sea air and then relaxed because it had been a nasty confrontation and now he had time to think and find someone who could help him bring his emotions under control. He knew he could find a therapist in San Francisco who understood his difficulty. And he was now ready to listen to one.

PAYTON WOULD BE THE first to admit that he shouldn’t have questioned Taylor about his past relationships. They had agreed not to do any of that for the health of the marriage. But out of nowhere he’d asked Taylor something private about him and Dylan. He had steered away from his obsessive desire to know and control things around him. Before anything fell from his mouth he knew he was wrong, but he wanted to know, and before he could reverse his words or change them, he had blurted out things he’d needed to take back, but couldn’t.

“Were you always the top in your relationship with Dylan?”

Taylor’s eyes flickered at him and then raised an eyebrow and said, “You promised me that we wouldn’t discuss my relationship with Dylan.”

Payton didn’t like the answer, nor did he like Taylor turning his back to him. Normally he would scoot up behind him and rub his cock on his ass just to feel as if he was more of the dominant in that union, and Taylor would let him. Now he didn’t care any longer, and he would take him just to prove a point.

Instead Payton became angry at Taylor’s answer and reached for Taylor’s shoulder and turned him around to face him. “I asked you a question.”

“And I’m not going to answer you. It’s none of your business. How would you like it if I asked you to describe what you did with your fiancée and with women you’ve dated?”

“It’s not the same thing. I never loved any of those women.”

“And yet you were willing to marry them, and never loved them. Then who’s the worst one? Me for not giving you an answer, or you willing to marry someone and not love them?” And Taylor turned back around to face the digital clock with his back to Payton.

Payton had been so annoyed with Taylor’s answer, and he wasn’t going to leave it at that. Once again he gripped his shoulder and pushed him on his back. “If you keep this up, I’m going to sleep in the guest room.”

“The fuck you are.” Payton leaned over him and licked his neck as Taylor lay there not moving. When he traced his tongue down to Taylor’s nipple and hooked his tongue on the ring that held it, and pulled hard, then sucked it, Payton saw Taylor’s cock come to life.

He glanced up at Taylor and said, “I’m going to fuck you now, and if you ever expect to top me again, then you’d better answer my questions soon.”

Payton had been inside Taylor all night and still he’d refused to answer and divulge why he had let Dylan top him when they first met, but he didn’t give him a choice.

Because he never insisted, or thought it important and because he had enjoyed the feeling he had received from Taylor.

His jealousy had gotten the best of him, and he knew now that he needed someone to help him get past his insecurities otherwise he wouldn’t be good for anything or anyone. He didn’t even know if Taylor had divorced him. He could have by now. Or at least filed papers. He hadn’t checked because he didn’t want to know the answers.

PAYTON HAD BEEN STANDING beside the Toyota for what appeared like hours, and still no cars slowed or stopped for him. The sun had begun to set. It was a huge orange and yellow ball. He had forgotten how marvelous and beautiful the sun had been early in the morning rising and setting. I could live here, he thought gazing around. I would stay here just to watch the sun set in the evenings.

Finally, a truck pulled up near the Toyota and stopped. Absorbed in his own thoughts he hadn’t noticed until a young blond man yelled out from the driver’s side. “Need a ride?”

“I need a phone to call a wrecker. And a place to stay overnight. I don’t see any hotels around.” Then he pulled in front of the car and parked and stood by his door.

The tall blond with a fucking smoking hot tan, smiled at Payton and said, “You’re not from around here. We don’t have hotels or motels. It’s against city ordinance. This is a beach town and the only thing we have is swimming, surfing, partying and fucking. If you’re interested in any of those things, then you’re at the right place.”

“I need a place to crash for the night and probably rent a car. If you can take me to the next town where I can rent a car then that’s great. I can pay you.”

“I don’t need your money, man. My name is Elliot James and if you don’t mind staying at a stranger’s house you’re welcome to come with me.”

  “Payton Knox. I mean Bailey.”

“Which one is it, dude? Knox or Bailey?”

“Call me Payton. It’s a long story.”

“Get your bag out of your car and hop in.”

After Payton snagged his suitcase from the trunk of his car, he climbed into the Jeep truck, and Elliot took off and sped into the light traffic.

One or two cars had passed in the time Payton had been standing and looking under the hood of his car. He didn’t know why he did that ridiculous maneuver, but at the time he didn’t know what else to do to broadcast that he needed help. Maybe it had finally worked because Elliot stopped.

As Elliot drove along, he watched Payton taking his eyes off the road for a few seconds and smiled as if he wanted to ask him a personal question, but didn’t dare ask.

  “Where were you headed?”

  “To San Francisco.”

Then he glanced at Payton’s clothes. You’re driving a late model car but the tone of your voice, the way you carry yourself and that hair cut screams that you came from money.”

“Not really. I’m a lawyer and I make a very good living at it.”

“Like I said, you came from money.”

If only he knew where I came from now that would be a laugh.

“I thought about going to law school. I’ll graduate this fall, but the only thing I really like to do is ride the waves.”

  Payton glanced over at him.

“You know. Surf. Like in riding a surfboard over gigantic waves? I enter contests in my spare time. That keeps me paying for my hobby. My family thinks it’s a hobby because there isn’t much money in it unless you’re one of the big boys and at the top of your game and you go international and play with the big boys.”

“What are you, twenty one or twenty-two?” Payton asked trying to get a gauge on the man sitting in front of him.

“I’m twenty. Should I go to law school?”

“That’s not for me to say. There’re a lot of things for you to consider, like grades and are you a serious student. I mean do you like all things law?”

“Pretty much,” Elliot said taking his eyes off the road and watching Payton, “but I like the ocean better. My professors suggested that I try law. They said I had the makings of a good politician. But then they’ve never been riding waves, and have their heart skip a beat when that wave catches you and you fight it for control, and it wins and leaves you breathless and helpless.”

Elliot’s blue eyes flashed, and his words captured what Payton thought of Taylor. Riding Taylor’s ass was like that wave. It left Payton breathless and helpless.

Payton glanced over and laughed. All he saw was a young man who didn’t know who he was with tattoos on his arms, and a surfboard on the rack of his truck. How could you conquer an ocean? It’s like trying to conquer Mars.

Not in this lifetime. But I will be the last one to shatter a boy’s dreams, he thought.

  When t
hey came to a traffic light, Elliot turned to his left and drove down past a number of seafood restaurants with people sitting on the outside and eating what he could see was large crab legs and lobsters. As Elliot continued driving, he drove past several large homes along the beach.

Pulling under the carport, his truck came to a stop under it and he said, “That’s me here.”

The front entrance was a large wraparound porch. After Payton grabbed his bag from the backseat, they walked up the stairs, and entered from the left side of the beach house, where a bar and bar stools set. When Elliot opened the door to the right, they stepped into the kitchen and living area.

“There’s nothing but room here,” Elliot said. “Take your pick. You can sleep on the first floor or the second.”

Payton walked around and then he looked at Elliot and said, “Do you own this place?”

“I rent it during the summer. Well not me. My friend rents it for me. I need my time in the ocean when I’m not taking classes.” Payton looked out the window at the beach and a walkway that led down to the shore and a pier which extended into the ocean.

“This is nice,” Payton said, and turned back to see Elliot looking at him.

  Payton raised his hands. “What?”

“I’m gay, and if you have a problem with that, I’ll take you over to the nearest town and help you find a place. Don’t worry man. I won’t try anything.”

Payton smiled. “Do I look like I’m worried? I’m not worried about you being gay.”

And he used the usual cliché. “Some of my best friends are gay.”

Elliot appeared to relax because he went to the fridge and grabbed two beers, opened them and handed one to Payton. Elliot put his feet on the coffee table, sat back, and glanced over to the picture window, and he and Payton shared a terrific view of the ocean waves flowing in and pushing out.
