Serge LEHMAN, born in 1964, is the best-known nom-de-plume of French writer Pascal Fréjean, who has also published under the names of “Corteval,” “Don Herial” and “Karel Dekk.” Pascal is one of France’s most talented scienmce fiction writers, the author of the notorious F.A.U.S.T. trilogy (1996-97), Wonderland (1997), Aucune Etoile Aussi Lointaine (1998) and the editor of the ground-breaking anthology Escales sur l’Horizon (1998). More recently, he collaborated with graphic novelist Enki Bilal on Immortal (Ad Vitam) (2004), Bilal’s own feature film adaptation of his Nikopol series of graphic novels.
Jean-Marc & Randy LOFFICIER, the authors of the Shadowmen non-fiction series, have also collaborated on five screenplays, a dozen books and numerous comic books and translations, including Arsène Lupin, Doc Ardan, Doctor Omega and The Phantom of the Opera, all published by Black Coat Press. They have written a number of animation teleplays, including episodes of Duck Tales and The Real Ghostbusters and such popular comic book heroes as Superman and Doctor Strange. In 1999, in recognition of their distinguished career as comic book writers, editors and translators, they were presented with the Inkpot award for Outstanding Achievement in Comic Arts. Randy is a member of the Writers Guild of America, West and Mystery Writers of America.

Sylvie MILLER is one of France’s best English and Spanish translators, having adapted works by Juan Miguel Aguilera, Brian Hopkins, Stanley Wiater, Peter Crowther, Nancy Collins and Colin Greenland. With Philippe Ward, she co-wrote Le Chant de Montsegur (2001), a thriller which explores the myths and legends of the Cathar country. Sylvie teaches economics and has also authored several textbooks. She lives outside of Paris.
Philippe WARD is the nom-de-plume of French writer Philippe Laguerre who has built a substantial reputation for tapping the darkest veins of French regional folklore. His first novel, Artahe (1997), translated by Black Coat Press in 2004, received considerable critical acclaim when it was initially released. Since then, Ward has authored Irrintzina (1999), a Basque thriller which has won several literary awards, Le Chant de Montsegur (co-written with Miller, 2001) and La Fontaine de Jouvence (2005), starring Gilles de Grandin, an homage to Seabury Quinn’s legendary hero. Philippe is the editor of Rivière Blanche, Black Coat Press’ French science fiction imprint.
