As she neared the gate May could not shake the feeling that someone was watching her from deep in the surrounding woods. She increased her pace, trying not to get herself into a frenzied panic. May knew she was close to the gate and the safety of the car, one more turn of the path and she would be free. A twig crackled and broke behind her and she froze to the spot. May quickly glanced back and a man was standing on the path twenty feet behind her. He wore a loose black hoodie and the hood was pulled over his head obscuring his down turned face.
He raised a black clad hand and said in a gentle voice, “Please wait. I need to know about my father.”
