  Snowfire: Fire-and-Water Gate

  K Z Snow

When fire elemental Salomon “crashes” a wizard’s astral gate, he’s fortunate to be invited into the Magic Circle rather than kicked to the cosmic curb. When water elemental Acwilla joins him there, he’s even more fortunate.

By adopting Human form, they discover that the coupling of opposites can not only elevate their natures, it can also result in a sizzlingly good time.

  Snowfire: Fire-and-Water Gate

A wizard had finally opened the gate for Salomon. But an open gate to the earthly realm did not guarantee a hospitable reception, especially when an entity hadn’t been invited. And Salomon had certainly not been invited. Out of desperation, he’d taken advantage of an opportunity.

“Identify yourself, Vulcanus,” the wizard said in a commanding, sonorous voice, “and state your purpose here.”

As he became visible, Salomon realized he couldn’t flee now, couldn’t slip back into the aether and resume his lonely prowl. He was trapped. The wizard knew how to keep unexpected entities contained in the Triangle beyond his Magic Circle. He likely knew, as well, how to banish or destroy them.

Time was of the essence. A prompt response to the Gatekeeper’s command was crucial. But Salomon had barely begun to assume his Human shape. He would have trouble communicating without it.

He tried to form words with his sinuous tongues of flame. The sounds came out mostly as expulsions of air. Some, though, had a sibilant hiss; others, a crackle. “Help me. Please, help me.”

The wizard, a handsome and imperious-looking creature, paid close attention. “I summoned no elementals,” he said, but in a way that gave Salomon hope. The man was intrigued by him. Wary, yes, but wondering. And wonder often paved the way to acceptance.

Salomon struggled to make his words clear. “I beg… your forbearance… sir.”

The wizard’s eyebrows lifted. Perhaps he hadn’t expected such deference from an entity considered volatile and often belligerent.

Through sheer force of will, Salomon assumed the details of a man’s body, something he’d done on other occasions. He felt the comforting heat of his essence separate into gaseous red-gold filaments, felt the filaments gradually solidify into muscular limbs. There was, for a moment, a sharp blue burn in his extremities. The Human form had many peculiar projections, but Salomon greatly enjoyed this physical manifestation.

In it, through it, he hoped to lure Acwilla, the Undine who could quell his rambunctious and often rebellious spirit. They’d met before, on the fringes of a different magician’s Circle, and Salomon had strongly sensed their mutual attraction. Through Acwilla, he hoped to achieve Tiphareth, a much higher state of being and consciousness.

Assuming substance was always unsettling, at least until the process was complete. Regardless of his new dimensional details, Salomon still felt the shimmer and smolder of his normal state. An ethereal tickle licked through his solid tangle of bones and tissues and fluids. Fire still flowed through each fiber.

Once his vocal mechanism felt secure, Salomon addressed his temporary master. “Forgive me,” he said, “for taking advantage of your portal. I am Salomon, son of the Djin known as Salobras. I harbor no hostility and intend no harm. I only seek your aid, which I request most humbly.”

“Are you prepared to offer me protection and service in return?” the wizard asked.

“Of course. I believe my mate will, as well. If she accepts me.”

Considering Salomon’s request, the wizard paced along the arc of his Circle. Now he stopped. “What mate, or potential mate, is that?”

“I ask that you open the way for the Undine Acwilla to join me.”

The wizard’s hand fell away from his beard and vanished in the folds of his robe. “Why do you wish this? Are you trying to achieve Tiphareth?”

“Yes,” Salomon said. “The beauty and strength that comes from balance, from the unification of opposites. Before that can happen, though, my spirit must be stilled. Mating with an Undine can do both -- quell my restlessness and allow me to join with my antithesis.”

“Who could be your nemesis,” the wizard pointed out. “Salomon, this is a dangerous proposition. Your fire could cause the Undine to wither. Her water could extinguish your very being.”

“I know,” Salomon said. This was a fundamental fact of his existence. “But there’s never gain without risk. Besides, if we join while in Human form, the dangers should be minimized.”

The wizard smiled. “You know, I rather like you. I never thought I’d say that about an astral or elemental, but you’re different from any I’ve ever encountered. Maybe that’s because your father is a Djin. Or maybe it’s because of your aspirations.”

Salomon felt his face move. He supposed he was smiling, too, since the wizard’s words pleased him. He touched his mouth. Yes, it had an upward curve. Although he’d been in Human form before, he wasn’t quite used to this body’s responses to stimuli, whether physical or emotional.

“You’ll need to leave the Triangle,” the wizard said, “so that if your Undine does appear, she won’t feel pressured or threatened, or in any way repelled by your presence. And once she’s here, it will be up to her whether she stays or leaves. I cannot force a coupling.”

“I understand,” Salomon said. “A forced union has never been my intention. It would defeat my purpose.”

The wizard narrowed his eyes, studying Salomon’s face. “If I allow you into the Circle, I must be able to trust you. Do you swear to bend to my will if I deem it necessary?”

  “I do.”

After a moment’s more consideration, the wizard nodded. “All right. But I warn you, do not cross me.”

The wizard approached his stone altar where magical materials were arrayed. Lifting his ceremonial sword, he pointed the tip at one of four archangels stationed around the Circle’s perimeter. Simultaneously, he touched the lower right peak of a pentagram sitting on the altar. The glowing red figure of Michael, stationed at the south cardinal point, began to rise and form a canopy.

  “Enter,” the wizard said.

Salomon was drawn to the indicated spot. As if he were back in his original form, his new body felt like a wavering, stretching plume. Once he was pulled into the Circle, Michael again descended. Salomon and the wizard were now sealed protectively within the Circle’s bounds.

“Before you attempt to summon Acwilla,” Salomo
n said to his host, “I must ask you for some guidance.”

The wizard peered into his face. “I believe you’re blushing.”

“I’m afraid I don’t understand the reference,” Salomon said.

“Is your face warm?” the wizard asked.

“Of course my face is warm.” Silently, Salomon upbraided himself for his snappish tone.

“I suppose that was a stupid question,” the wizard said with a grin, “since you’re a fire elemental. I was just trying to explain what blushing is. A warm face is one of its signs. The heightened warmth and color means the blood has risen to the surface of your skin.”

“I beg your forgiveness,” Salomon said, turning down his eyes.

“You don’t have to be too obsequious.” The wizard continued to smile. “Just don’t fly into a snit, or I’ll have to cast your ass out of here.”

“My what?” Salomon asked, looking up. He must have unconsciously mimicked the wizard’s stature when he shifted; they were the same height.

The wizard walked behind him and placed his hands on a lower rear portion of Salomon’s anatomy. “This,” he said, “is your ass. And you chose a very nice one, I might add.”

“I’m glad you approve. You see, I’ve been in Human form before, but I’ve never familiarized myself with all its features. And if I hope to couple with an Undine who’s also in Human form, I’ll need…”

“A clue,” the wizard said, laughing.

His demeanor had changed since he’d begun to trust his visitor. He was no longer intimidating, although his power certainly hadn’t diminished. Perhaps trust inspired relaxation and good humor in Humans. Salomon felt encouraged by the wizard’s genial behavior.

“You’ve never experienced physical enjoyment of another Human body?” the wizard asked. “I mean a body other than your own.”

“I’ve heard of such enjoyment.” Salomon looked down at his new self. “But I don’t know how to generate it. I’m not entirely sure what all these… parts are for. Please help me understand.”

The wizard gazed into his eyes for a moment. “Oh, shit,” he sighed. “You’re really going to owe me after this.” He rubbed the lower half of his face on which hair grew. “Okay, see that appendage at the apex of your thighs?”

Salomon glanced down at the fleshy column. “I believe that’s my penis,” he said. “Or cock or dick. I do know the names for most of these features, but…”

“Try holding it,” the wizard said. “But only lightly and briefly.” Then he muttered, “Otherwise we’ll be opening a whole new can of worms… so to speak.”

Salomon cradled his penis in his hand. It jerked, startling him. A shower of sparks drizzled through his abdomen and into his legs. The penis-cock-dick seemed to have a life of its own. Quite remarkable. “It’s begun to grow,” Salomon said curiously. There was less breath in his lungs. He felt tense and restless, but in a different way from when he was in his normal state. The testicles that hung behind the penis felt tight.

“It’s supposed to grow,” the wizard told him. “At least, when it’s stimulated.”

“But… yours is growing, too,” Salomon noted. “Yet you didn’t put your hand to it.”

The wizard made a strange sound in his throat as he closed his robe. “That happens sometimes. You don’t always have to hold it to make it grow. Sometimes it just grows by itself. It depends on what you’re looking at or what you’re feeling with other parts of your body. Like someone else’s body.”

“Are you blushing?” Salomon asked. “Your cheeks look redder.”

  “Uh… I might be a little flushed.”

Idly, Salomon’s hand once more fell to his cock.

The wizard swatted it away. “I told you, don’t keep handling it.”

“Why? I like the feeling I’m getting. Is it sexual pleasure?”

“That’s only the tip of the iceberg, buddy,” murmured the wizard.

“What iceberg, where?” Salomon asked, his face wrinkling in confusion.

“Never mind,” the wizard said impatiently. “What I meant was the feeling gets much more intense. That’s why you have to stop fondling yourself. You need to save your arousal for Acwilla. If you get too excited, you’ll come.” He held up a hand. “Wait, let me rephrase. If you get too aroused, you’ll expend all your excitement and you won’t be able to couple with Acwilla.”

Salomon assumed the wizard spoke the truth. “It’s difficult, stopping this process once it starts.”

  “It sure the fuck is.”

“For some reason, the feeling I got makes me want to touch your body. And I still don’t know what kissing is or exactly how to couple. Will you show me?”

The wizard put up his hands. He seemed to be warding Salomon off, although Salomon had made no move toward him. Laughing and shaking his head, he shoved his hands through his rich tumble of hair.

“No,” he said. “You can’t touch me and I can’t show you what kissing or coupling is. You’ll figure it out.”

Salomon held his arms away from his sides. “Does the body I chose displease you? Will it displease Acwilla?”

“That’s not the reason.” The wizard, who now stood in front of his altar, turned to face it.

Salomon was concerned. “Do you think I’m trying to trick you? Or does intimate contact with other entities somehow compromise your power?” He took two steps forward. “I swear I would never attempt to harm you, sir. You’re doing me a great service.”

The wizard pivoted abruptly and faced Salomon. “The body and face you chose are extremely appealing. And very tempting. That’s precisely why we can’t engage in close contact. I have my own mate, Salomon. It’s that relationship I don’t want to compromise, not my power. In fact, my power would likely be enhanced through intimacy with you. But it wouldn’t be worth the stain on my conscience.”

  “I don’t know what a con --”

“You don’t have to know,” the wizard said with a kind smile. “Now, let me try to get Acwilla here before we both shoot all over ourselves.”

Turning toward his altar, the wizard made various movements with his arms. He murmured words Salomon could not clearly hear. He rang a small bell…

  * * *

Although not with Human senses, Acwilla had been observing this interaction with keen interest and anticipation. She’d been drawn to it. So she immediately answered the Gatekeeper’s summons by appearing as a rippling, crystalline blue waterfall within the Triangle.

“Are you the Undine Acwilla?” the wizard asked.

She curled forward, dipping into a bow.

“The Vulcanus, Salomon, now in Human form, wishes to meet you in my Circle. If you choose to join him, enter here.”

The wizard had no sooner angled his sword toward the western point than Acwilla rushed past the archangel Gabriel in a directed torrent. Finally! By the Creator, what had taken Salomon so long? Acwilla made a concentrated effort to rein in and channel her natural force so she wouldn’t enter the Circle with a splash.

Her liquid flow began to still and solidify. Adopting Human form was tricky. Acwilla must terminate the process once she was firm but before she turned to ice. Her eyes developed first, so she could gaze upon Salomon. Oh, he was very lovely -- flowing red hair and large amber eyes, a shape that tapered from broad to narrow and had the smooth, sloping lines imparted by tough muscles. Tantalized by the sight, Acwilla decided to incorporate into human form against his body.

Still more liquid than solid, she lapped against the hard pillar of his sex organ. His cock, she thought, liking the strength implied by the term. She separated briefly into two gelid streams. One burbled between his legs to caress his dense testicles. Balls, she reminded herself, although they felt more like eggs than orbs. Yes, he seemed to like that. She moved up farther, to the low corrugations of his abdomen, then farther still, to the twin mounds of his chest with their two tiny peaks.

Her substance sizzled and steamed as it came into contact with the heat still
charging through Salomon’s veins. The sensation, deliriously exciting, more than outweighed the risk she was taking.

The wizard watched. “Sassy lady,” he murmured. “Goes straight for the steak.”

Acwilla had always scorned indecision. Moreover, she’d been in Human form before, so she knew how much she liked this body, and she’d encountered Salomon before and knew how much she liked him. What mattered now was the feel of him beneath her undulating mass -- all that resistant muscle covered with satiny skin and silky hair; all those writhing movements that encouraged more of her touch. Even the sounds he made enticed her -- low, raspy groans, as if his contained fire might suddenly burst into an inferno. The drizzle of fear stemming from potential danger only heightened her arousal.

Plump and firm, Acwilla’s breasts formed, her nipples already high and taut, tingling with sensation as she pressed herself against Salomon’s unyielding chest. The rest of her body rapidly began to take shape, ribcage to feet. Her mouth brushed against Salomon’s full, parted lips. “How I’ve yearned for this moment. Had you not taken the initiative, I would have.”

Nearly solid now, but remaining fluidly graceful, Acwilla lifted her legs and twined them around Salomon’s waist.

His arms curled fiercely around her back and held her captive. “You don’t fear me?” he asked, their lips still close enough to tease.

“Not when I feel this way.”

Acwilla’s essence gathered between her legs in a slurry of wetness. The swollen head of Salomon’s cock slid through it, gliding between her labia and over her clitoris. That wild creature seemed to know what he was doing. Acwilla shivered at the contact. Sharp, spangling ripples coursed through her new body.

“Calm me,” Salomon whispered. “I’ve admired you for so very long.”

“Excite me,” Acwilla countered. “I’ve desired you for so very long.”

Salomon flexed his lips against hers. They were pure warmth transformed into mobile softness. She hungrily returned the kiss. Their tongues met, equally hot and damp and demanding.
