“Madison tell me what you want, I need to hear it.”
“Rand, I want you. I want all of you, please show me how much you missed me, missed this,” and I spread my legs open completely exposing myself to him. I didn’t lack any confidence now with my fiancé at any place or any time. I was wet from wanting him all day just anticipating this moment.
“Madison, you have no idea how long I have thought of this moment. I have to breathe for a moment because I don’t want to take you so fast and end this.”
“Rand don’t breathe, just take me and then take me again. Please, I need you.” I was actually begging for him, the craving unbearable.
The next moment, he moved between my legs that welcomed him and he thrust inside me. I felt my core pulsing and his shaft beating inside me. “Oh God, Madison I missed you so much, you feel so good. You are like coming home for me.”
Our bodies moved and heated more and more. Rand drove himself harder and deeper into me. I couldn’t hold back anymore as his driving force was going to make me come hard. I heard him say he was so close and then suddenly I called out his name as he released himself into me and roared the loudest groan and fell to the side of my chest. “Madison, you make me so crazy for you, you have no idea what you do to me.”
I glanced and saw that he was getting hard again. “Rand please take me again.”
What a welcome home last night was and well now we were up and ready for today to get the party in place and also Rand had a ton of unpacking to do. I had to clear my head of Rand for a little while so I could get things done today. Cecile was heading over soon to help me. Actually, she would do it all. Rand knew her very well already. Cecile thrived on diving into things and making them great for everyone. Rand got up and pulled some sweatpants on and had the cord barely tied. I watched him walk across the floor, his pants slipping down his hips with each step. I didn’t mind, I could watch this all day long. I could see my name etched on his lower back and it made my heart smile. Yes, one day soon, I would be his Madison Rand. I love this man. He turned knowing I was following the sight of his awesome ass. He smiled and winked extending his arm for me. I rushed up into his arm and then led him outside to show him the progress of the addition on the barn.
As we walked across to the back, I saw Connor’s car here so I knew it would be great that Rand finally meet him.
“Good morning guys,” Rand said to the team that was already busy working.
“Hey!” they hollered to him.
“Well, well, this must be the man,” Connor stepped up and extended his hand to Rand.
“I assume you’re Connor. I have heard only good things about you. I should thank you for looking out for my girl here while I was out of town,” Rand said calmly but also tightened his hold on me with each of his words.
“Rand I want to thank you for the job and these guys won’t let you down. They needed the work and will do you proud.”
I chimed in, “Connor are you coming back tonight for the party?”
“Madison I would love to, thank you. I wanted to tell you that the crew is on schedule to complete this addition for you very soon. Right now I have to leave the crew as I have a meeting in my office in Philly, but I’ll see you both later this evening.”
As I turned to walk back to the house with Rand, he lightened his grip on me. I know he finally relaxed. Connor was a very handsome guy but I think Rand could judge that he was only a kind friend helping with a job. Connor showed Rand respect and appreciation for the work. I was glad that their first meeting was smooth. I wanted Rand home and nothing messing us up. We had our fill of obstacles.
As Connor pulled out, Cecile arrived honking her horn. Not one honk but several. Rand went back to the house while I turned to go greet her and get her started on today’s festivities.
“Hey Cecile, you just missed Connor. I wanted to introduce you.”
“Sorry Madison, I would have been here a few minutes sooner but I took a lengthy call and pulled over on the roadside to finish it.”
“That’s okay he will be back here tonight.”
“Madison is Thomas coming?”
“I wasn’t going to invite him, but I actually sent him a text only because he and Connor work in the same office and I knew Connor might tell him.”
“So how is Rand with him coming?” Cecile shot me an apprehensive look on her face.
“Well, actually Thomas said he probably could not make it but he wished me well.”
“That was easy.”
“Yeah, I wish all encounters would be that simple. Let’s get you moving Cecile,” and I pushed her to the barn doors. As I turned to head back to the house I noticed all the contractors staring at Cecile. If she only looked back for a second she would have been floored.
I dressed tonight with Rand in mind. I didn’t pile the clothes high on the floor, I knew what I wanted him to see me in and I worked it. I stepped out of our bedroom and saw him in a pair of faded jeans and a tight black tee. His cuff bracelet fastened to his wrist. I can’t recall seeing him ever take that off. I do remember seeing him while he was performing out west kissing it at the show’s end. I knew that was meant for me. Here I stood before him with the short deep red halter dress, and thigh high black leather boots. It wasn’t my normal look but I figured I would step out of my comfort zone and dress up for the part as the author of Rock Notes. And as he caught the first sight of me, he yelled, “Madison you rock, you look incredible!”
From the short walk from the front door to the barn I think I batted his hand off my ass at least seven times. “Madison that is my ass now and if I want to touch it all night I will. I don’t want to embarrass you, so I will try to keep my hands off till we are back on the path to our front door later this evening.” Rand had me smiling already and I was looking forward to this evening, but as I walked through the barn door, my chest tightened. The first person I saw was Thomas.
Rand tugged my arm and whispered harshly in my ear, “What is he doing here?” I could see the glare in his eyes.
“Well, I had to invite him because I invited Connor but Thomas said he wasn’t coming.” I was nervous as Rand still held onto my arm. I knew he could feel my body tense.
“Oh, I bet he knew all along he was coming. He still thinks he can ride in on a horse and save you from me.”
“Rand, he knows I am with you. Please let’s not make an issue of this tonight.”
“Love, he is my issue but I won’t do anything to upset you. Just make certain he keeps his distance—from you!”
“You are the only one I want in my life or my space. And I want you to come in as closely to me as possible.”
“Madison, you know I truly love you.”
“Yep, let’s go mingle and have a great night.”
My hand slid out of Rand’s hold as I walked over to give a hug to my mom and uncle. They were across the room from Thomas. It kept me away from him for the moment and he hadn’t met my mother so I wanted to keep it that way. Rand never lost track of me as I moved around the room. Cecile had done a wonderful job of putting this all together and she was now running a bit late but sent a text she would be here soon.
“Madison we are so proud of you,” my mother said taking me into her chest for a hug. This felt so incredibly good. So warm, so forever comforting.
“Thank you mom, you cannot know how happy I am that you and Uncle Jake are here now to share in these moments with me.”
I was about to give my uncle a hug when a man’s hand slipped around and caught me in the waist and I thought it was none other than my fiancé because I felt a comfort with the touch.
“May I steal this beautiful girl?” Thomas asked.
“Well who is this handsome man Madison?” my mother’s interest obvious.
“Actually mom this is Thomas, my ex-husband,” I said quietly, trying not to bring any more attention to this awkward situation.
“Thomas, I’m Grace, glad to meet you.” I could tell in her response th
at she was purely being polite and that she had no intention of staying here to chat with him.
It was quick but my mother excused herself to go to the bar and my uncle followed.
“Thomas I thought you weren’t coming?”
“Maddy, you know I can’t miss a shining moment in your life especially since this would never be happening for you had I not left you.”
“What are you talking about?” I could not believe he just hit me with those words. I couldn’t silence this comment in my head. “Thomas you are delusional. I have heard that you do not need to feed a crazy person’s ego. I have had a hard time keeping inside all the crap that you continually throw at me when we talk. I used to try to ignore it, but that hasn’t worked and now I don’t even want you around me when you talk nonsense like this.”
“Well, after I left you felt you needed to chase around with the young band boys. I think you did that and now you’ll realize you are more mature and should make the better decision going forward.” Thomas said standing his ground all proud and confident in himself.
“And that would be what?” I couldn’t wait to hear his punch line and what words he would fire back at me.
“Simply for you to come back to me.” Thomas smiled with a smug grin.
I took a quick glimpse away from Thomas’s eyes to see Rand approaching as he could see our conversation was getting heated.
“Thomas I will be polite in saying this to you, but I really feel you should leave this party and these conversations between us where you continually bash Rand and make repeat plays for me, end now. I will not be coming back now or ever, I thought we have clearly established that.”
“Madison I won’t be staying I just wanted to come and wish you congratulations and let you know I am determined where you are concerned. Every time I see you, I want you more.”
Thomas reached in and pulled me into a hug and tilted his head to place a kiss on my exposed neck. I was glad that Dahlia, Ron’s girlfriend, had run interference and reached out and turned Rand into a friendly hug just as Thomas placed yet a second kiss to my neck. I felt his touch, I felt his need for me. I felt pulled but not toward him, I pulled back. “Will you just leave, just get out of here now!” I gritted my teeth holding myself from yelling the words but made my harsh tone known.
Thomas turned and left only to glance back at me one final time with a smile on his face. I was holding in my breath and released the air just as Rand approached me.
“Love,” Rand slipped his fingers gently in mine, “is everything okay?” He watched Thomas head for the door.
I nodded yes to him as I was still shaking a bit inside but didn’t want him to fight my battle with Thomas. I think finally I made myself crystal clear to him. I had my back toward Rand and felt a tap on my shoulder. Before I turned I hoped it wasn’t Thomas returning for another verbal battle. I looked hesitantly over my shoulder.
“Madison, I miss you,” Dahlia came up and hugged me. I had missed her too. We had kept in touch with messages while the band traveled and she appeared to be adjusting to Ron being in the band much better than when they first started dating. I remember in my hospital room seeing all the floral arrangements and I knew without a doubt which ones were from her. She sent me brightly colored Dahlia flowers, it was a dead giveaway.
“Dahlia, I am so glad you came tonight. You really should come by more often when the guys are away. I know you are busy with classes but someday take a break and come spend a day with me.”
“Madison, I would love to,” she replied.
“Who would you love to?” Ron asked as he came up and took her in his arms.
“Oh, Ron I just wanted her to come out and spend time with me,” I stated.
“Madison you have been such a good influence on us all.” Ron turned and hugged me. “And thanks for capturing me in the book with my sunglasses always on,” he laughed.
Rand and I walked around and as we finally made our way to the bar, he ordered us some champagne. Tonight we were celebrating. We were celebrating me and my new book.
I heard Cecile before she arrived. Right away, I also heard Isaac’s roar as he barreled toward me and picked me up. A kiss to my lips startled me and Rand was left laughing so hard. As Isaac set me down he said, “Madison I looked like such an ass in the book! I’m not always that way, but after reading some of my ways, I got to thinking that maybe I shouldn’t treat girls like I was. I think I will respect them a bit more.” This coming from Isaac’s mouth would be a huge revelation. He seemed to take the honesty in my writing of him and want to try to make himself better.
I was beginning to think this book was going to be the how to for all of them to improve themselves. But the book was actually a deep look into how they were in fact already great themselves with their individual strengths in music and these guys were so talented. It came with so much practice and giving up time with their loved ones which I could now relate to so well.
The only band mate that I was missing so far was Raeford. Rand excused himself for a moment and I looked around and saw my mother in conversation with Maxwell. I briefly thought that if my uncle were never in the picture that perhaps Maxwell and my mother would hit it off…that thought left my head quickly as I knew she was married now to my Uncle Jake and very, very happy. So where was Raeford? Up in the loft it was dark except for the illumination on The Wall. I saw a couple embracing in the corner, moving in the darkness. I saw the shimmer of the red hair that hung down low. Jillian and Raeford were back together up there locked in one another. I was happy to see them like this after so long. I only hoped it remained like this. I knew they would somehow find their way back to each other’s arms.
I heard a microphone being tested and tapped. “Everyone I would like your attention for one moment. We are here tonight to celebrate Madison and her newly published book, Rock Notes. It tells all about the crazy antics of the band.” Rand paused, looked for me. Once his eyes locked onto mine he continued, “She has written a wonderful story, a true story and I along with all of you here this evening couldn’t be more proud.” I think he was actually getting choked up as he stopped his speech. Then he pointed up to the loft and the lights appeared and a spot light shined on an area of The Wall. In my corner, was the latest written review on my book and shiny paper stars stuck all around it. I had to laugh. These guys were definitely a great group of characters.
After the applause, I did a make quick bow and said, “Thank you everyone, but the greatest pleasure I took from this story was while I was following the band, I got to know myself. I learned I am a survivor in the world and I got stronger with my life and my love.”
Rand walked up and wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my head. “I will show you later how proud I really am of you,” he whispered.
“Oh do tell me…” I replied.
I wasn’t sure when Connor showed up. As I made it to the bar to get a drink I saw him talking to Isaac and Ron. He was mentioning that he was doing the construction on the property.
Isaac said loudly, “Man you’re very good I saw what you built.” Connor smiled and they continued to speak. I didn’t see Cecile and Kent for awhile and I knew they had been apart a lot lately so surely they were off in another area making up for lost time.
“Connor, I’m glad you came.” I smiled at him.
“Did Thomas come here tonight?” he asked.
“Yeah he was here. He was a complete ass so I asked him to leave.”
“Madison I know he still has it bad for you, he talks about you a lot.”
“Well, in time I am sure he will move on and see that I have done that already.”
“Madison, congratulations on the book. I have an early start with the crew here so I am going to head out.”
As Connor turned to leave he hugged me and I caught sight of Rand across the room smiling. Not a threatening look or glare, just a simple smile. He wasn’t even gone a few minutes when Cecile and Kent appeared. Cecile’s face was red and he
r lips stripped of any lip gloss. Kent was smiling from ear to ear. “Hey Cecile, you just missed Connor! I wanted you to meet him. He is doing the build out here on the barn. You may see him here a lot for a while.”
“Next time I will meet him, but tonight I can’t get enough of these huge arms.” She was beaming at Kent and he was tightening his hold around her.
Everyone was enjoying themselves. I remembered I had a few signed copies of the book back at the house that I wanted to give out and so I excused myself for a moment and walked out across the path to our house. In the darkness I saw a shadow coming off the front porch. As I walked up cautiously I saw it was Connor.
“Hey, are you okay?” I asked as I approached him.
“Yeah Madison I didn’t mean to scare you, I was actually putting an envelope of some of the additional wiring and changes that we need you to approve at your door. I didn’t want to hand it to you in the party.”
“Thank you Connor, I’ll look it over tomorrow.” As I stepped up on the first step on the porch in the dark, I tripped and fell forward. Connor lunged and caught me but only after I hit my leg on the step. Before I thought to try to stand up, Connor was next to me holding me in his arms.
“Madison, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I can’t believe I tripped on my own feet!” I was so clumsy. I sat there and rested my head on his shoulder as he was still holding me up.
“You know Madison, you make me so comfortable being around you. Tonight was hard for me to stay in the party as it was the anniversary of the night I screwed up my life with the best girl I ever could have had.”
“Don’t be so hard on yourself, you will find her again or someone just as great one day.”
“Well it seems the best girls are all taken.”
“Yes they are!” was said in a deep gruff voice. Rand stood there in the dark staring at us both as we were seated so closely together.
“Babe, this is not what you think, I tripped and Connor caught me.” Rand simply extended his hand to me and helped me up.
“Connor, thank you for making certain nothing happened to her.”
