by Rachel Robinson

He slides the ring on the ring finger on my left hand without letting his gaze stray from mine. I grab the change from his other hand and slide it into the pocket of my sweatpants.

His lips crash into mine in excitement of my silent acceptance. I didn’t have to say yes. Doubt isn’t in our repertoire anymore. Clarity comes when you can’t make sense of anything. You grasp what you want and forget everything else. His kiss takes over all of my senses. He only breaks to smile at me—no words are spoken, but everything is said.

Macs is my clarity. My family.

  He’s my hero.

The list of things Rachel loves

I love my readers. For coming back time and again to see the new and inventive ways I can bring you to the brink of destruction and then pull you back into a warm, fuzzy hug of HAPPILY EVER AFTER. A huge thank you and shout out to all of my readers turned friends who hang out with me in my reader’s group. (Rachel Robinson’s Racy Readers) Dawn S., Suzy, Tricia, Jordan, Sophie, Julie W. – (and so many more!) You guys stick by me and cheer me on constantly. I love you for it and I wish we could be real life friends. That sounds creepy. I’m sorry. But, seriously, BE MY FRIEND, PLEASE!

I love my family and friends who listen to my ideas and probably think I’m insane half the time. You support me all of the time and that’s what matters. My sister, Shelby gets major kudos for reading rough drafts and telling me when I’ve gone too far. Someone has to temper my sadistic inclinations. Teala has a bump in the epilogue because Shelby is a sucker for pregnant heroines. (That doesn’t mean you should get pregnant again, Belle.)

Kids. Speaking of those, I love mine so much. I love you, Everett and Blair. Hopefully by the time you read this, or understand exactly what it is I do on my laptop, I’m ninety years old and laughing in your face like a batty old lady. Visit me often. You guys are my world and I can’t envision life (fictional or not) without you in it.

I love my husband. Without his support and knowledge, I’d never be able to write these books in a way that seems real. Critter, you’re so good to me. You’re the reason I know true love and romance exist in this cruel, twisted world. Without you I’d be a spinster with a sun room full of cats. I love you. You have perfect fucking hair. There, I said it. Someone had to.

I’m clicking the shutter button right now. On my husband’s face as he reads the last paragraph.
